★ Tourist location: South Park, Taicang, Suzhou

I have always known that Nanyuan is very small, so although I travel to and from Taicang only once, I have never made a detour to Nanyuan. This time, I traveled back to Chengcheng from the top, thinking whether it was early or late, so it was quite suitable to go to Nanyuan. So, I hit it off with my friends and took a detour to Nanyuan.

Probably because it was the weekend, the parking lot at the entrance of Nanyuan was full of cars. As a last resort, I had to find another place to park my car. Walking through streets is a unique skill for old drivers. I thought that my skills were not good, so I had to detour a little more and find a parking lot.

Nanyuan was built during the Wanli Period of the Ming Dynasty and covers an area of more than 30 acres. It was built by Wang Wensu, the prime minister of the dynasty. It was the place where his elderly family handled government affairs and planted plum blossoms and raised chrysanthemums. Therefore, Taicang people also called it the Taishi Mansion.

The garden gate is a classical building with a two-story pavilion. The two characters "South Garden" on the plaque are said to be written by Dong Qichang. The entry point is to illuminate the wall, and the four words "Sufen is far away" are written by Wen Zhengming. The calligraphy of these two celebrities naturally adds a lot of color to Nanyuan. There is a plum tree in front of Zhaobi, but unfortunately it has already blossomed and fallen leaves.

To the left of the park is a tall beech tree, which is two hundred years old. However, Miss Chun's footsteps had just approached, and only the bare tree trunks stood straight.

Walking forward, there is a bamboo forest with a stream in it. The scenery is very simple. Walking along the lake and looking at the scenery across the lake, the perspective is not bad.

Of course, a wisteria has not reached its flowering stage yet, but the beautiful plum blossoms next to the Shamo Pavilion are really blooming like a beauty. Looking from afar, there are also pink flowering trees by the lake. This season, the plum blossoms have withered and the peach blossoms have not yet bloomed, so they are probably beautiful plum blossoms.

The piano room was probably the place where the owner and his friends played the piano, listened to the rain, and enjoyed the flowers and chatted wonderfully. In ancient times, if literati couldn't use one thing, they couldn't make friends.

There is a nine-curved bridge by the lake. In detail, there is a nine-fold bend. You can stand on the bridge and see the lake light on both sides. Although there is no mountain color, the willows are beginning to green, and the beautiful plum blossoms are also very enchanting. It is very refreshing under the sun.

Crossing the bridge is the Xiuxue Hall, the main building of Nanyuan. The inscription on the plaque is Wang Shizhen, the leader of the last seven sons of the Ming Dynasty literary world. At that time, Dong Qichang and Chen Jiru came to Nanyuan Yaji during the Yuanqi period. They drank wine and played the piano, painted and recited poems here. It was very romantic. Dong Qichang also wrote "Talking about the Rain" on the wall, indicating that literati are happy with the rain.

This Mandarin Duck Hall was built in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. It was a flower hall in the house of Wang Kui, Wang Shi's second son. It was later owned by the descendants of Yu Dayou, a famous anti-Japanese general. Later, it became the hall of the surname Yu and was called Qiushitang. Later, it was moved to Nanyuan and changed to Xiuxue Hall. The building after construction is very simple and elegant. It is said that the wood is removed from a relatively old building.

There is a beautiful single-hole stone bridge on the lake, called Zhijin Bridge, 3.4 meters away from the water surface, complementing the surrounding buildings. Standing a little further away, you can see that the top and bottom of the lake form a fairly complete circle, as if a flying rainbow is lying across the water. This bridge type is rare in Jiangnan and is said to be built in imitation of the Jade Belt Bridge style of the Summer Palace in Beijing. According to this statement, the bridge may have been built relatively late.

Under the bridge, there is a stone pavilion, known as the well pavilion because there is an ancient well in the pavilion. This pavilion is of the Ming Dynasty style and is four meters high. The pavilion's name is not obvious. However, the couplet on the stone pillars is written by a famous artist. It is Jin Dongxin, one of the eight monsters of Yangzhou. The bluestone well railing is said to be an old thing from the Jiang Fengyue Building, a young man on the side of the Wuling Bridge in the Yuan Dynasty. It can be regarded as one of the oldest buildings in the South Garden.

On the east side of the well pavilion is a platform close to the water, backed by the well pavilion, facing the flower planting and resting. On the left is Zhijin Bridge, and on the right is Xiangtao Pavilion. It is indeed a very pleasant place.

Going left could have led to Xiangtao Pavilion, but it is currently under maintenance, so we can only turn back northbound, which is also where the buildings in the park are relatively concentrated.

Quemei Fairy Hall is a four-sided hall. In front of the hall, there are several old plum trees. The tree age is about a hundred years old. This is where Prime Minister Wang admired plum trees back then. Most of the plum blossoms are now dying, only a few hanging listlessly on the branches, and all of them have lost their arrogant style.

The two square pools are called playing the moon, and the other reflects green. The few old trees seem to be old even if they are less than a hundred years old. The trunk is curved and the tree shape is beautiful, reflecting the white walls and black tiles. It is very simple and elegant.

As the name suggests, Dahuange Qin Hall is naturally related to Qin. A bronze statue shows the posture of a zither player playing the piano, which is very vivid and vivid. It is said that there are precious guqin and several precious piano scores hidden here. Of course, what is displayed in the window will probably not be the original. In fact, even if it was the original, we couldn't understand these piano scores. We could only sigh that the "ancient relics" could still be preserved today.

Walking through Qu Lang and Yuebo Bridge, I also saw a few white plums and a tree of beautiful plums along the way. In fact, the ones most suitable for the garden were plum blossoms. The flowers of beautiful plums were a little dense and the color was a little charming, but I always felt that they were a little less elegant.

Tan Ying Xuan means "night comes and the moon rises, reflecting in the lake". It seems that this place is more suitable for enjoying the night of a full moon. Because there are two tall sycamore trees behind the pavilion, there is also a name called Shuangwu Xuan.

After walking through the stone bridge, you will reach the exit. The whole South Garden is indeed not big. The beautiful plum blossoms on the bridge are quite beautiful. They shine in the shadows by the water. Looking at the Zhijin Bridge in the distance across the water, the scenery is quite good.

Only when we reached the exit did we realize that we had taken the wrong route. However, South Park is not big, so I can do anything. The biggest advantage of walking this way is that the journey is very quiet...

Warm reminder: We don't need tickets to enter Nanyuan this time, but it is said that we need to buy tickets. Probably because Xiangtao Pavilion, one of the main buildings in the park, is under renovation and cannot be opened, so we are embarrassed to charge tickets from tourists?

Poetry to remember:

Purple swallows fly next to Tanying Pavilion,

A lake of spring water brings a new look.

Keep good guests at Xiangtao Pavilion,

Waiting in front of the Embroidery Snow Hall for free days.
