I have finally come to Suzhou, where I have been longing for it. Since I was a child, I have loved small bridges, flowing water, pavilions, rockery, flowers and plants, bamboo, and I have loved the Xiaoxiang Pavilion where Lin Daiyu lived. I imagined that even if I was a maid, I could live in such a courtyard and have the opportunity to take a look. I also heard many people around me who have been to Suzhou say how good Suzhou is and how much I like Suzhou, which further deepened my yearning for this city. This spring, my dream finally came true. Happy! Happy! Happy!
Share this trip experience with everyone, hoping to help more friends who like it but have never been to Suzhou.
Suzhou does not have an airport, so it is quite troublesome to go back and forth. I chose the train and went directly to Suzhou Railway Station, which is in the Main City with convenient transportation. Because it was not easy to ask for leave, I only had two and a half days and two full days, so I only had three days to arrange my trip. I will first send you the guide map I made in advance. Don't laugh, because the food content inside is more than the attractions. Haha, food is also part of tourism!
Day 1: Arrive at the B & B near Pingjiang Road that you have booked in advance at noon. It is in the alley, next to the river. The scenery is very good and has a taste of Suzhou. The B & B has a detailed service also very good. In addition to disposable slippers, there are also plastic slippers for easy bathing and wearing. There is also smart toilets, like it! The hygiene is also very good, cleaner than the hotel, and the bed is very comfortable.
Start acting as planned, drop your luggage and go out. Go to the first attraction, Canglang Pavilion. I chose to stay here for the first night mainly because it was close to Humble Administrator's Garden and it was easy to walk directly the next morning, saving time. I stepped on the spot first and asked two enthusiastic local residents. I took two turns from the alley and arrived at the main road of Humble Administrator's Garden. It was less than ten minutes 'walk. There were also many shops selling snacks along the road. It was convenient to have breakfast the next morning. Passing by Humble Administrator's Garden, Lion Grove, and Suzhou Museum, you will come out on Lindun Road. Don't rush to take a bus first, take a look at the local street scene, humanities, and feel the local environment. Walking south, turning into Baita West Road, you will see the Municipal Hospital. Walking further, you will see the "Wuji Xiaoyuan Building" in the guide. There are many people inside. It seems that the business is good and it must be delicious. Coming out is Renmin Road, the main line in the city center. Canglang Pavilion is on the south of Renmin Road. Take a bus, get off at Sanyuan Square or Workers 'Cultural Palace, and you can walk there.
I was so excited when I visited the forest, but I didn't ask for an explanation. I just learned about it online in advance. I was still a little regretful that I didn't understand the essence of the garden. This is my first experience and I will definitely come back next time. Opposite the Canglang Pavilion is Keyuan. This attraction was not arranged in the plan this time, and I was afraid that there was not enough time to enter. More time should be reserved for the highly rated Internet Master Garden. Canglang Pavilion is not far from the Internet Master Garden, so it only takes ten minutes to take a taxi. The following is the Tutu of the Internet Master Garden:
It's nearly evening when I came out of the Internet Master Garden. I took a taxi to Pingjiang Road, but it's actually not far away. Haha, I just don't know the way and wait for the bus fare. Unexpectedly, there were still many people on Pingjiang Road at this time. I walked from this section of Ganjiang Road to Baita East Street, and then turned back from Baita East Street to the entrance where I turned to Guanqian Street. Follow the river all the way and watch the sun go down.
In the middle section of Pingjiang Road, there are signs leading to Guanqian Street. Walking along this path, there are fewer and fewer people. I saw a beautiful and cute little blue cat. I was not afraid of people, but I didn't rub it either. Haha, go out and avoid accidents!
Walking further, I saw a century-old restaurant "Yang Yuxing". Although there weren't many people inside, the signboard of the century-old restaurant was very attractive, so I could go in and settle dinner. I ordered the signature noodle Fengzhen Big Meat Noodles. Well, it tastes very good!
After dinner, we arrived at today's final destination-Guanqian Street, and rested and went shopping. There are many shops on the street and the road surface is very clean. My favorite is the time-honored food store. I came to Caizhizhai, which has been famous for a long time. There are many snacks that I want to buy and try. I also saw a shop called Huang Tianyuan, the King of Cakes, with a resounding name. There are freshly made cakes and people queuing up. I also bought a few and ate them as snacks when I was hungry on the road. In other words, it seems that many snacks in Suzhou are made of glutinous rice. Aren't you afraid of growing meat? But I don't see that there are many fat people in the local area, haha!
The next day: I got up at around 6 o'clock in the morning and tried to enter the Humble Administrator's Garden when it opened at 7:30. Don't be lazy when you come out to play. Good times should be reserved for attractions, hehe!
Humble Administrator's Garden is really big. It's easy to get lost when it comes to gardens. Time is tight this time. If I have enough time, I will definitely stay inside for most of the day and feel it carefully. All the beautiful pictures are engraved in my heart. The result of taking a quick look is that you forget it quickly. In addition, you visit several gardens a day, and your brain is a little confused at the end of the day, hahahaha! Many local elderly people also come to the garden early to stroll around, staggering the peak period of the day. I met my grandma who was alone looking out on a rockery. She was probably eighty years old. When she saw me, she affectionately asked me where I came from, and told me that the place where I was standing was called the "Looking at the Pavilion". It felt very warm. She must have a deep affection for this place. I guess she has been here hundreds, thousands of times. I envy the people who live here!
The desire to travel in Humble Administrator's Garden is still unfinished, but there are more and more tourists. Is this still the legendary off-season? You must also arrive at the Suzhou Museum within the scheduled time.
Su Bo's design is quite beautiful, and the exhibition hall is not bad. He also watched a documentary about the Baodingshan Grottoes in the movie viewing area. This koi in Zhongwang Garden is big enough.
It was already noon when Su Bo came out. It was time for lunch. I came to "Yuxing Ji" not far from the scenic spot, and said that it was different from "Yang Yuxing" last night. I tasted the most famous "two-sided yellow" in the store, and I was in a hurry to eat and forgot to take pictures. Does it taste? It's not as amazing as recommended by netizens. It feels a little tired at the end of eating. It may be the taste of fried noodles.
The attractions in the afternoon are Lion Grove, famous for its strange rocks and labyrinth-like rockery. Sure enough, I got lost in the rockery group and walked up and down several times. It was a good place to enjoy the shade under the rockery in summer.
Walking from Lion Grove to the B & B, picking up your luggage, and taking a taxi to the next hotel, such as Home Changmen, next to Shantang Street and closer to Tiger Hill and Lingering Garden. This home feels very good. I chose a landscape room. It is in a small courtyard. It has trees and bamboos. It is clean and comfortable. The decoration style is also very good. It is very cost-effective. I like it. We can see bamboo outside the window of the room we live in, and we can hear birds chirping when we wake up in the morning. Let's pretend we've lived in the garden, haha.
The hotel took a brief rest and set off for Shantang Street, because everyone said that the night view of Shantang Street is more beautiful. Qilishantang refers to the entrance of Shantang Street and walk straight along the road by the river. The end point is to Huqiu. There are seven miles in total. It is said that the scenery on this road is unique and I really want to experience it. But it's getting late and the road is unfamiliar, so let's take a stroll on the main street. There are still many people, with many travel teams. After crossing the Shantang Bridge intersection and walking forward for a while, I saw another time-honored restaurant "Rongyang Building". This was an accident. Although I wrote about this restaurant in my guide, I didn't remember it at all and I didn't know where it was. I only found it in the guide after eating and it was on the list. Many people are queuing up at the take-out outlet to buy something like fried cakes here. They are called fried dumplings here, and there are also people selling green dumplings. I also bought some of them. I had dinner here by the way. I ate fried rice and large wontons, which were both delicious. Many local residents also ate here, which was definitely right.
On the third day, we drove directly to Huqiu after breakfast. We saw someone saying that if we wanted to stay in the garden first, it would be best to enter and exit from the north gate of Huqiu, so we came to the north gate first. However, the road building at the north gate seems to cost subway No. 6, so it is not easy to walk and looks very desolate. Perhaps it was too early, no one could be seen at the door and there were no staff members, which was a bit scary. But once you enter the Tiger Hill Scenic Area, you feel completely different. The Tiger Hill Pagoda is really amazing from all angles. It is really a landmark building.
Tiger Hill is quite big and there are many places to visit. My favorite ones are the trees here. There are various types of towering trees that have been growing for many years. The mountains are also surrounded by trees. It must be very cool here in summer, and my heart will calm down. It's really good.
It was already noon when the South Gate of Huqiu came out. It was originally planned to take a bus to Hanshan Temple first. However, due to the road construction at the gate, it was difficult to find the bus stop. I only found it after asking around. At a glance, there was no direct bus to Hanshan Temple. Some people went to the Lingering Garden and asked the driver. The driver said that there was a bus to Hanshan Temple in the Lingering Garden. Then go to the Lingering Garden first. The Lingering Garden is actually closer to where I live, and Hanshan Temple is further away.
The Lingering Garden is the last garden I visited in Suzhou this time. It is also the garden that I like the most, impressed the most, and spent the longest time in my heart. Maybe because I am no longer in a hurry, I can calm down and feel it carefully. The spring garden is full of vitality. The Peony Garden, the small garden on the east side of the Lingering Garden, is about to usher in its most beautiful bloom moment. There is an inconspicuous small door in the Peony Garden. Later, I read the introduction that this is actually the main entrance of the previous Lingering Garden, where all guests enter. I carefully felt every corner here, every scenery, every tree, and I liked it from the bottom of my heart. Will come again, will come again!
Today's two scenic spots, Tiger Hill and Lingering Garden, were both very enjoyable and satisfying. It's almost afternoon since I left the Lingering Garden. Thinking that Hanshan Temple is still far away, I don't feel very interested in going. I'll leave it for the next time and find a reason for my next trip, haha! There is Xiyuan Temple not far from the Lingering Garden. I heard that it is also very good, so let's go around nearby.
When Xiyuan Temple came out, he quickly went back to Home Inn to get his luggage and rushed to the last hotel to stay-an express hotel on Fenghuang Street. This hotel is located in the downtown area and on the food street. You can have a good meal tonight. When I am in a good mood, I don't feel tired. When I arrived at the hotel at 6 p.m., I felt that I still had a lot of time at night and couldn't waste it. Where should I go? I didn't take the subway when I came to Suzhou this time. I heard that Jinji Lake is also good. Although it was not part of the original tour plan, I would go since I have free time. Metro Line 1 can be directly connected. When I left the subway station, I saw the "Gate of Hope". I felt the other side of Suzhou's metropolis.
Walking along Jinji Lake, the lake is very big and windy. Many high-end hotels and restaurants by the lake saw a popular Japanese restaurant. The floor outside the Tatami private room was full of guests 'shoes, and the waiters shuttled back and forth with sashimi.
On the fourth and last day, there was a train in the afternoon and half a day in the morning to play. I had planned in advance. When I got up in the morning, I went to Fengmen Hengjie, the most down-to-earth and pyrotechnic street, the local vegetable market in old Suzhou. I actually dug this treasure. Haha, I am interested in this!
When I came out of Fengmen Street, I saw that it was not far from the headquarters of Soochow University on the map. I really wanted to take a look around this beautiful campus, but I don't think I should get anywhere near casually. Try your luck. Walking all the way, asking questions all the way, I passed the south and west gates of Soochow University. The doors were indeed locked. It doesn't matter. It's good to have the opportunity to stroll the old streets and alleys of Suzhou. The scenery along the road is very good. I also see several ancient bridges, which are quite interesting.
I also passed Dinghui Temple Lane, right next to my hotel. This is actually a food street. I saw a shop called Wang's Lin Ji Shaobing Seed Cake. There was a long line at the door. I would definitely come and try it next time I have the opportunity. It was almost noon, the car arrived at Xiangmen, the ancient city gate. I heard that the night view here was also very beautiful. There was no chance this time, so I would save everything for the next time.
Well, it's time to say goodbye to the city. I was very satisfied with this trip and everything was perfect. I am also impressed with myself! Suzhou, looking forward to meeting next time!!!
