★ Tourist location: Shanghu Lake in Shanghu Scenic Area, Changshu, Suzhou
Shanghu is really too big. Every time I visit, I always have a great purpose. During the peony season, I will go straight to the Peony Garden and naturally miss other attractions. Today, we had a lot of money, but we didn't take the scenic area transportation bus and we walked too leisurely. So we sadly found that we still had to rush slowly in the end, and we missed the time to go out...
Entering Shanghu is first a Changshou Bridge, and then we visit Taigong Island. The Cultural Center is on the way. We need to detour the Prayer Platform, Bagua Pond, Taigong Pavilion, and Diaoyu Ji. This is also the first time we have taken a detour from that side. Coming out of the Cultural Center is the Ancient Boat Hall. You can see ancient ship models. You can take a boat to tour Waihu when you go out, or you can go to Yangliu Island and pass through the Moon Embankment to Fushui Villa. Coming out of Qian's Tea House is Meihuawu. Walking forward leads to Fox Animation Farm. There is a barbecue garden here and there is nothing to see in winter. But this is the closest route to the aquatic forest.
There is a road leading to Liuxiang Hall, where you can catch crabs. Although it is not Yangcheng Lake hairy crabs, Shanghu is not far from Yangcheng Lake, and the water quality is not much worse. Liuxiangguan is an island, from which you can lead to another island, with Boya Hall on it. On the other end, it leads to Sijing Garden.
The door of Liuxiang Museum is closed, and the nearby China Silk Newspaper Collection is not open either. The whole island looks deserted enough. I didn't meet a third person along the way, but it was a set of rural utensils, which was quite interesting. For people who have lived in cities for a long time, these are very novel things and can only be seen in places such as the Agricultural Expo Park. Even rural people may not see these things in modern rural areas.
This is a group of Qing Dynasty buildings, which is an excellent place to enjoy the natural scenery of mountains, rivers, cities and villages. It is said that Dongkuang has "double towers and pavilions". There are too many pavilions, so there seems to be nothing wrong with this. There are "shadows of herons in the cedar forests" in the west. Maybe the season is wrong and there are many cedar forests, but no egrets are seen. Maybe they have returned to the south in a group to spend the winter. In the south, you can see the "Sun-Reflecting Lotus". This is another place to admire lotus in summer. Now of course, you can't see anything except looking at dead branches. In the north, we can see the sound of "mountains and waves". In fact, we didn't hear the sound of waves. The mountains refer to Yushan Mountain. They are everywhere, and we don't necessarily need to see them from the pavilion here.
Around Sijing Garden is Hexiang Island, where the high-quality peonies are located. Opposite is the Chinese Peony Garden, which has a iron chain bridge that leads to another island. Through the Shishi Bridge or Dufang Bridge, you can reach the International Peony Garden. During the peony season, tourists here simply fill all three islands!
This also belongs to the scope of the Shanshui Cultural Park, covering an area of about 93,000 square meters. The entire Shanghu Lake can be called a Shanghu Scenic Area, but there are not many people talking about culture. Because of the poems left by literati and literati of past dynasties, they complement each other with the mountains and rivers, hence the name.
The layout of the entire Shanshui Cultural Park includes the Peony Garden, including Yunya Flying Waterfall, Shuangting, Laiqing Bridge, Yueyangting Pavilion, Xiange Terrace, Rao Jing Bridge, Dufang Bridge, Shishi Bridge, and Guanhe Bridge. The central location is Hushan Hall, a Qing Dynasty architectural style building that looks like a place to drink tea.
There is the Wisteria Corridor around, but we really haven't passed by it when the wisteria flowers bloom in April, so we haven't seen a magnificent scene full of wisteria. Walking along the lake you will lead to Gate 3, but today the door is closed.
Moving forward is Yunya Flying Waterfall, a group of Yellowstone rockery known as the "No. 1 Mountain in East China". It uses more than 8,000 tons of stone. The waterfalls on the top of the mountain are like water in the sky, building the legacy of Yushan piled with stones. You can rafting here in summer, but winter is not the season for rafting. Passing through the Shuangting Pavilion and the amusement park is the Xiange Platform.
The scenery in this area is beautiful, and occasionally a flock of birds fly by. It feels quite surprising, although the scale is smaller than when migratory birds migrate on a large scale.
The Earthquake Science Popularization Experience Hall on the side is also closed. Gate 2 is located through the Retain Memory Local Specialty Store, and the exit is close to Shanghu Water Street. It was getting late at this time. We originally planned to go out through Gate 2, but found that the door was closed. It seemed that we could only go out through the main entrance of Gate 1.
So after passing Baigongfang and Liuxiang Bridge, we sadly found that we seemed to be lost? It is unrealistic to be able to retreat, so we can only brace ourselves and move forward quickly. Fortunately, when I saw Foshui Villa, I felt at ease. We are familiar with this section of the road. After all, we will report here every time we come to Shanghu.
Afraid of closing the door, we trotted out, but when we reached the door, we found that it was still closed. This time we got anxious and hurriedly searched around to see if there was a side door or back door, but the result was very disappointing. What should I do now? Should I call 110 for help? Fortunately, when we were so anxious that we were wandering around, our friends found a notice on the wall with a telephone number on it. We hurriedly dialed one and were told to make a phone call. Fortunately, this time I was successfully told to come and open the door immediately, and my panicked heart finally calmed down. We are not afraid of waiting, but we are afraid that we cannot get out! This time we didn't have to wait too long. The staff came quickly and opened the door. Fortunately, it was okay.
What an extremely profound trip to Shanghu!
Poetry to remember:
Ancient trees rise to the sky and prosper,
Step by step, the scenery is changed to the willows to help the sparse.
Wutong walking on the moon is poetic,
The water pavilion listens to the spring painting.
