★ Tourist location: Luoxingzhou, Tongli Ancient Town, Wujiang, Suzhou
Of course, this is not my first time here in Tongli, but every time I happen to miss Luo Xingzhou. For the first time, I enjoyed eating in the ancient town, but I lost my ticket. Fortunately, only one attraction in Luo Xingzhou was missed. Although it was a pity, I didn't want to buy a ticket again. The second time I played a little late and the boat had already stopped. The third time I arrived in Tongli was even later. Night was almost falling, so naturally I couldn't go.
Luoxingzhou is a small island in Tongli Lake, which is famous for its misty and rainy scenery, so the day I chose was not a good day. Luoxing gets its name because the reeds around the island look like Luoxing.
At the entrance of the island is Guanyin Temple, with bright yellow walls, which is a typical temple color in Jiangnan. As usual, the mountain gate is filled with colorful sculptures of the Four Great Kings.
The Daxiong Hall is under maintenance. There is a golden statue of Sakyamuni in the middle and golden statues of Arhat on both sides. We are used to the eighteen arhats, but there are only sixteen arhats enshrined in the main hall, eight on each side. I don't know what to say. Perhaps in more ancient temples, there were originally sixteen arhats?
Luoxingzhou was built in the Yuan Dynasty and rebuilt during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. There are temples in the north and gardens in the south. The mountain faces the famous ancient town, which was once called the "Penglai Wonderland". It was burned down by the Japanese invaders in 1938. At that time, a plainclothes team of more than 100 people ambushed the Japanese troops stationed in Tongli. The Japanese invaders failed to catch anyone, and became angry and burned down the trees and buildings on Luoxing Chau.
Although this island is not large in size, it is a holy place integrating Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. It is just that it is separated from the main tourist area of the ancient town and the epidemic has not yet completely passed, so there are few tourists.
There is a small door next to the temple leading to Wenchang Hall. Although it is a hall, it is a two-story attic. It is not wrong to call it Wenchang Pavilion. Of course, Emperor Wenchang is enshrined in the temple, which means that Buddhism has shifted from Taoism. Emperor Wenchang was a Taoist god who controlled the fame and wealth of scholars. He had seventy-three incarnations in the mortal world. Zhang Zhong of the Zhou Dynasty, Zhang Liang of the Han Dynasty, Lu Guang of the Jin Dynasty... each of them was a name that made people hear like thunder.
There are stairs on the side to climb the pavilion, and you can have a panoramic view of the entire Luo Xingzhou. On one side is the temple being overhauled, on the other side is the lake on the island, and on the opposite side is another building. Further on both sides, you can see the willow trees on the ground, and behind is the surface of Tongli Lake.
You also have a platform with a strong wind on the lake. Although the temperature is very high, you don't feel upset at all standing here. The platform is located on the lake. Outside the island is Tongli Lake and there is also a small lake on the island.
Tingyuxuan is a very ordinary building. It is not open and looks like a place for drinking tea. In front of it is an inner lake and behind it is an outer lake. The artistic conception is absolutely good. Luoxingzhou is famous for its misty rain. In history, there has been a scenic spot where "Luoxingzhou listens to the rain" and it is one of the twenty scenic spots in Tongli.
Doumu Pavilion honors Doumu Yuanjun, a goddess believed in Taoism and also known as Lady Ziguang. Maybe this goddess's reputation is not too prominent, but when it comes to her nine sons, they are really famous one after another: Jade Emperor, Ziwei, Greulang, Jumen, Lucun, Wenqu, Lianzhen, Wuqu, and Pojun.
Although there are stairs in the pavilion, tourists are not allowed to go up. It is said that there is nothing in the pavilion on the second floor. I don't feel disappointed either. This height is about the same as Wenchang Hall, and the scenery I can see is probably not too different.
It's quite interesting to say. Doumu Pavilion and Wenchang Hall are located at both ends of the inner lake, facing each other across the lake, which is very symmetrical and beautiful. Since the three religions are united, why does it seem that there are only Buddha and Tao in the three main buildings? I wondered for a while and thought that it might be because Wenchang Star's incarnation in the people might be great scholars and was reluctantly classified into Confucianism?
Although the lake is not large, a folded bridge was built. Standing on the bridge, I can see the lotus leaf fields on both sides of the lake. The flowering period is about past, and there is no flower in bloom, which is a pity.
However, when I returned to Guanyin Temple, I walked to the other side. There was actually a small courtyard here, and the lotus flowers planted in the huge flowerpot were blooming just right. There is a lotus, one is in full bloom, and one is in bud. Although it is a potted plant, it allows people to see the three most outstanding stages of lotus life at once.
There is a veranda by the lake, where you can see Tongli Lake. Of course, if you go around the island, you can see Tongli Lake in every direction. However, standing under the porch, it seemed to feel slightly different.
Visit Complete Island and return to the dock. The wind is stronger here and all the sweat is quickly blown away. Squinting slightly, the conference center built in the water not far away is very outstanding. Although it is very new, Luo Xingzhou itself was rebuilt later and does not feel awkward.
Not long after, the boat that runs every half an hour landed on the shore, and this time it was a "chartered boat" back on the shore. This treatment was really too VIP. Even if there is only one tourist, we will never miss the sailing time. No wonder there are more and more tourists in Tongli and their popularity is becoming more and more popular. They are doing things attentively and treating guests!
Poetry to remember:
The green leaves are half-faded and the flowers are scattered, and the skirts dance with the wind.
I still have feelings for many months in my hometown, giving me silver makeup and old poems.
