★ Tourist location: Linwu Cave, Xishan, Suzhou
My friends actually don't like Xishan very much, but every time they come to Xishan, they have to go to Linwu Cave, so every time they come to Xishan, they will go to Linwu Cave for a walk. In fact, it is not that he is very interested in the cave itself, but mainly because he likes the limestone landform in the Wanyan area of Linwu. It is a pleasure to wander up and down under the curious eyes of others.
I originally wanted to enter through the entrance of Linwu Ancient Cave, but every time I enter from Plum Garden, I get a little bored. Who knew that the parking space at this entrance was quite tight, so I had to turn to the gate of Meiyuan. I was surprised to find that most of the parking lot here was empty. I parked the car happily and only when I reached the door did I realize that due to the epidemic, this door cannot be entered in and out, only from the entrance of Linwu Cave. For us, the distance between the two doors is quite close and we won't complain about it.
There is an arch bridge at the entrance with the words "Lingyou Bridge" engraved on it. There is no explanation sign. It is probably newly built and very short. There should have been water under the bridge tunnel, but most of the area is dry today. Even if it rained, it was only covered with a thin layer, not thicker than the ground.
Of course, I wasn't that interested in these landforms. I sat on the stone and watched the view from the top, and then went for a stroll in the cave. The hole is still the same hole. Although it was very shocking when I first came here, I made a turn from beginning to end and then turned again, but after turning too much, I felt that it was just like this.
After leaving the cave, I went to Jiafu Pavilion for a walk. In fact, even if I climbed the pavilion, the view was similar to that below. After all, Linwu Cave is on the mountain and itself is much higher than Taihu Lake, so the view would be very wide without climbing the pavilion. There is a copper bell in the pavilion that you can knock, and no one comes to charge.
The rain kept falling, occasionally stopping for a few minutes. As soon as I put away the umbrella, it began to rain down again. Although many of the stones were still flat, they couldn't sit on them because they were wet. They could only walk along the stone paths and found many cliffs. However, these cliffs were probably carved later, and there was no signature below the inscriptions.
From the entrance of the cave to the Jiafu Pavilion, and then from the Jiafu Pavilion to the exit, there are large tracts of limestone. Due to joints and karstification, many pictograms are formed. Of course, there are no names for the stones outside the cave. They all rely on their rich imagination to see what they look like and what they think.
"Linwu Evening Smoke" is a relatively flat stone with a hole underneath it. It looks like a miniature version of the entrance landscape of Linwu Cave. When we came, we saw an archway with the words "Evening Smoke in the Forest House" written on it. For the word "evening", we really stayed until dusk. Unfortunately, today's residents no longer have chimneys, and the curling evening smoke naturally cannot rise. They can only look at the white walls in the rain.
The "Cave Land" is behind the trees. The stones here are relatively flat. If the weather is fine, it should be enough to build a small tent or something.
The "Lake Sky Overview" is under the pavilion, not far from the Jiafu Pavilion. There is an open space between the stones, where you can stand and see the colors of the lake and Tianshan mountains. Of course, you can actually watch it while sitting in the pavilion. There is no need to dig into the pile of stones.
On the back mountain of Jiafu Pavilion, there are some out-of-style stone carvings. The characters are black, which is unexpectedly harmonious against the backdrop of limestone and green grass. However, it was written quite eloquently, so I couldn't recognize who wrote it. Some words were followed by symbols. I looked up and looked at Jiafu Pavilion. Could it be really a symbol?
The stones in the back mountain are not as round as the front mountain. The rocks here are jagged and there are small gaps in the middle. If you take care of it properly, the whole "Line of Sky" should not be difficult. However, this line of sky is really too narrow, and it is difficult for even the slimmer person to pass sideways.
