Wupeng boats, bluestone slabs, arched bridges, oil-paper umbrellas, small bridges and flowing water, stone alleys... I believe that everyone has a beautiful Jiangnan ancient town hidden in their hearts, but when we visited some famous ancient towns, we found that many ancient towns are too commercialized. The ancient towns are all businesses run by local people for the purpose of making money. It is difficult to find the peaceful and leisurely Jiangnan ancient town in our mind.
But there are exceptions. For example, the ancient town Yufan visited a few days ago is different. In the words of local friends, they advocate the concept of "sharing between guests and guests." The development of the ancient town is not only guided by the feelings of tourists, but also allows the local residents. The indigenous people are getting happier and happier. They will not move the locals away just because the ancient town wants to develop tourism, but let the locals stay and make the ancient town different with the most authentic fireworks.
This ancient town is called Lili Ancient Town. It is located in Wujiang District, Suzhou City. The ancient town is built along the Shihe River. Many buildings were built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and look very simple. There are not only Suzhou gardens such as Duanben Garden in the ancient town, but also Liu Yazi's former residence, Li Keran Art Museum, China Tin Museum, Liuyue Museum, etc.
There are many ancient bridges on Lili Ancient Town, eight of which are original ancient bridges of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and 115 alleys of various types. It is the ancient town with the largest number of alleys in Jiangnan. There are also taochang, oil dunn, spicy chicken feet, tiger beans, begonia cakes... and other local specialties, you will feel that time is very slow and leisurely when you are in it.
But what impressed me most was the fireworks and fireworks in the ancient town. The living scenes of local people that can be seen everywhere made us feel that it was not like a tourist attraction, but more like an ordinary ancient town where a large number of old ladies and grandfathers lived. Walking through an alley, I looked in and saw an old lady sitting in her main room eating.
This group of photos was taken casually when I walked through the ancient town of Lili. Each one is a scene of the daily life of the local people. The picture above shows that I heard the pleasant chirping of birds from afar. Following the sound, I saw an uncle walking the birds along the river of the city.
Walking past a specialty shop, the smell of pickles came to my nostrils. Looking inside, I saw the landlady filling her own pickles into bottles and then putting them on the counter for sale.
On the river of the city, an aunt rode a bicycle past the old street, greeting acquaintances on the roadside from time to time. She must have been riding this road for many years.
Passing by the Tin Ware Museum, the owner was slowly beating a semi-finished tin ware. Although there were not many tourists in the store, to him, every piece was a work of art hammered out.
In the bamboo shop in the ancient town, we saw a bamboo craftsman skillfully weaving a basket. Such craftsmanship may not be much in the west, but it is relatively rare in Jiangnan. Unexpectedly, it was in the ancient town of Lili. It has been well passed down.
Not far from the bamboo ware shop, there is a wooden barrel shop. With the rise of modern industrial civilization, there are fewer and fewer traditional wooden barrels, and craftsmen who can make them are rare. However, when passing by in Lili Ancient Town, I was lucky enough to see a woodworker cutting and making materials.
Under the pavilion by the river of the city, a little girl is practicing the traditional musical instrument-erhu. It is a very rare scene.
There are many docks along the river of the city. On the docks, some aunties can often be seen washing vegetables, washing clothes, and washing dishes in the city river. Some people may question hygiene issues, but for them, it is a habit that has been passed down for thousands of years. However, we have noticed that all these washing things by the river are old people. Perhaps in a few decades, it will be difficult to see such scenes without human intervention?
On the edge of Taiping Bridge, an 80-year-old grandmother was threading needles and embroidery. I was stunned at that time. An 80-year-old man, with no blurred eyes and ears, can still thread needles. It's amazing. If it weren't for the fact that I wouldn't understand a word she said, I would have wanted to interview her. There are many scenes like this in the ancient town. You can take many pictures easily by walking through it. The sun here is moderate, the rain is abundant, the climate is mild and humid, the four seasons are distinct, life is leisurely, and consumption is not high. It is very suitable for living and elderly care. Everyone thinks?
