preface

Wuzhen It is the Jiangnan water town in cognition, with white walls and black tiles, small bridges and flowing water. It is the girl holding an oil paper umbrella walking on the stone alleyway, the sky blue and other mists and rain in "Blue and White Porcelain", the ancient window that no one can carry in "Dream of Water Town", and it is also Liu Ruoying's second hometown.

I have always had an indescribable love for the water towns in Jiangnan. Time has added a lot of charm to each brick and tile. Walking on the old stone streets, I always feel like I can talk to the past, just like time passes by. On this trip to Wuzhen, I also took my mother to experience it together~

Before starting a travelogue, let's take a look at a set of beautiful picture highlights.

The Rural Life in Wucun Village

1、 There are many activities and experiences in Wucun Village

After getting off the plane in Hangzhou with a hopeful mood, I immediately took the direct bus to Wuzhen, which was very convenient for transportation. It takes over an hour to reach Wuzhen Bus Station, and then we head to our first destination - Wucun.

Wucun is adjacent to Xizha Scenic Area and is a resort that integrates accommodation, catering, entertainment, and leisure activities. As the village adopts a "one price all inclusive" service, after checking in, you can freely experience most of the village's entertainment and food with a bracelet, without having to bring your wallet, which is very user-friendly.

For those of us who have lived in the city for a long time, suddenly arriving at such a place full of poetry and distance, the first thing is to wander around.

Some of the buildings in the village are renovated from old houses, retaining their original appearance and exuding a retro vibe. The surroundings of the houses are also covered with grapefruit trees, which bear fruit and bring joy upon seeing them. Mom said these antique houses make her want to go back to the past, full of memories~She also lived in such a small courtyard when she was a child~

In the field, there are crops that grow well, giving a feeling of "planting beans at the foot of the mountain". You can also experience agricultural activities such as picking, sowing, and feeding poultry, becoming a real villager.

Wucun is also a parent-child playground, and winter camp activities are currently being held. Walking on the road, you can occasionally encounter a group of children participating in various activities, and sometimes you are curious. Follow them to experience the route, there are really too many fun!

The little pig race is a very popular event, where two little pigs are on two different tracks. Each participating child claims a little pig and uses all their strength to make the little pig run faster. The pig that reaches the finish line first wins.

During the race, there were also plenty of jokes. One of the little pigs was running back, but it made the child anxious and asked for help from the adults. In the end, we worked together to drive the pig to the finish line. The little pig's silly appearance was really cute!

In the cultural center, you can also see children at the winter camp drawing New Year pictures, led by COCO from the village.

COCO will give children a guiding idea, and then let them use their imagination to complete it. This year is the Year of the Rat, some draw a little mouse, some draw a lucky character, and some draw cartoon characters.

In Wucun Mill, you can experience the fun of making soybean milk. First, put a certain proportion of water and soybeans into the stone mill, and then you can start grinding.

During the grinding process, children can learn about the production process of soybean milk, exercise their patience, and constantly grow through experience.

If you want to experience the local cuisine, you can't miss the village's experience activities of making rice cakes and pancakes, just at the village market.

Woci, also known as glutinous rice pot, first wash the large pot clean, then put the glutinous rice balls into the pot, and then use a spatula to rotate the pan clockwise from the bottom of the pot. Apply force evenly, and the Woci paste film will turn white. Wait for a moment until the water evaporates evenly and fry until the color is slightly charred, then it can be taken out of the furnace.

If eaten dry, it is fragrant, crispy, and can also be made into soup or served as fried glutinous rice tea to entertain guests.

There are various snacks to eat in the market, such as Dingsheng cake, which is also a specialty of Wuzhen.

There are also fresh fruits and vegetables and cured meat grown in the village for sale~Strolling around is like a market in a TV drama, and watching anything feels magical.

2、 Accommodation in Wucun Village

The accommodation in the village is also very unique, named after Taoyuan, Rice Warehouse, Bamboo House, Mill, Wine Lane, Fisherman, etc., each with its own unique characteristics.

The bamboo house is surrounded by lush bamboo, which is very serene. The decoration inside the peach garden is full of girlish hearts, and the rice warehouse can take you back to old memories. Of course, the wine alley is themed around wine, and fishermen can be filled with elements of fishermen.

We live in a mill, full of artistic style~You can see the decorations of stone mills, succulents, and other objects at the entrance.

Entering the room, the first thing I felt was the staff's thoughtfulness. The heating had already been turned on, so the whole room was warm, instantly diluting the cold brought outside.

The room is predominantly brown in color, elegant yet exuding a hint of composure, with comfortable bedding that immediately makes one want to lie down.

On one side of the bed is the wardrobe and the double sofa~

There are tea sets and fruits on the TV cabinet~

There are also many drinks prepared, such as chrysanthemums, tea, coffee, and so on~

And the bathroom is dry and wet separated~

The room also has a yard~

Occasionally, you can also drink tea in the yard~If it's even better in summer, you can take a cool break here, watch the stars and admire the moon~It has to be said that the accommodation in Wucun is very good, clean and hygienic, and the service is excellent.

3、 Cuisine in Wucun Village

There are many delicious foods in Wucun, and as someone who loves to eat, I naturally cannot miss them. First of all, the main meals were all eaten at the Rye Field Restaurant. The way to enter the restaurant is also very advanced, because the system takes photos and registers during check-in, so now you can directly use iPad face recognition to check in.

As soon as you enter the restaurant, you are attracted by the dazzling array of delicious food. We adopt a self-service mode, so it is very convenient to take whatever you want and like.

The restaurant presents four different dining themes, including roast duck, seafood, grilled meat, and local flavors. Each meal offers a variety of delicious food, making it extremely rich.

Barbecue~

Corn~

Salad~

Fresh cooking area~~

There are also various delicious desserts, made very delicately.

In addition to the dinner, there are other snacks, such as desserts in the dessert shop, cakes in the market, small Wonton with tofu flower in the mill, Little pan rice in the rice warehouse, snacks in the Taoyuan, and so on. There are many, most importantly, all of them can be tasted for free.

Dingsheng Cake~

Small Wonton~

Tofu flower~

You can also drink drinks and listen to music in the coffee bar, which feels like a petty bourgeois~

Sit down here, feel the quiet flow of time, and enjoy every moment of slow time in the present.

Gameplay in Xizha Village
Water Lantern Festival

Our past days happened to coincide with the Water Lantern Festival in Wuzhen, which was a feast of lights and allowed us to enjoy various shapes of water lanterns. After dinner, he grabbed his mother and eagerly set off.

There is a free shuttle bus from Wucun to Xizha. Along the way, you will pass through the Osmanthus Forest and see a set of lamps with the theme of "virtue". Along with lanterns, auspicious clouds, and other elements, they appear festive while promoting traditional Chinese virtues and culture. As the tour bus passes by, it feels like walking in the midst of lights, shining brightly.

Beside the Moon Elder Temple, there is a lamp shaped like an embroidered tower, which is very spectacular, just like the ancient way of throwing embroidered balls. It is very suitable for the theme of the Moon Elder Temple and also symbolizes the good intentions of peach blossoms blooming.

The production of the entire set of lights is very unique, and I even took a closer look~

The shape of the lamp presented at the back street restaurant is a phoenix crown, and one can stroll through this huge arch to experience the traditional Chinese opera art of Wuzhen.

The theme of the lamp on the emerald ripples is Wuzhen social drama, which is the unique culture of Wuzhen~

More lights are concentrated on the dragon shaped field, and at a glance, the entire field is sparkling with stars. At the center is a folk story of a mouse getting married, a big red sedan chair, decorated with lights and colorful decorations, and a group of little mice next to it are very lively~

The colorful lights of mice also spread throughout the entire field~

There are also colored corn lanterns symbolizing the Dafengshou (Salad of assorted fresh vegetables)~

Nuoda's Pumpkin~

Writing about the bountiful grains of wheat~In the dimly lit night, after watching the colorful lights, I immediately strolled down the old street to experience the beauty of the night in Xizha.

After entering the night, the West Gate was brightly lit, and the houses on both sides of the riverbank were illuminated. The reflections swaying in the water formed a different and glowing appearance.

This kind of night is undoubtedly beautiful, so beautiful that I just want to watch it quietly~

Walking on the ancient slate road, feeling the bricks and tiles here~

Even the photo studio on the street seems to be telling stories that belong here.

I happened to come across a colorful lantern shop where various lights were hanging at the entrance, illuminating the entire old street~

Entering the store, there are even more colorful lights inside. In the increasingly dark night, carrying a lantern and walking through the streets and alleys is also a good experience.

Continuing to walk towards the old street, enjoying the tranquility of this night~

The river has become wider in this area, and the view has also become wider. Ancient buildings shine brightly at night under the reflection of lights.

At a certain point on the old street, I encountered another set of colorful lantern exhibitions with the theme of the Wuzhen Drama Festival~

If you're tired from walking, you can find a tea house, choose a window seat, have a cup of tea and take a break, and watch the pedestrians coming and going on the street.

How can one not love such a West Gate, with such stars and nights?

Finally, you can also mail a postcard to friends from afar at the post office in Wuzhen, sharing the beauty here.

Water Market

If the West Gate at night is intoxicating, then the West Gate in the morning is unforgettable.

When you arrive in Wuzhen, you can live up to it every morning. It is suitable to get up early, and then go to the breakfast stall on the old street to stutter on a steaming Wonton. The pyrotechnic atmosphere of the ancient town in the early morning can best be reflected, and then walk to the water market~

I saw numerous boats parked on the edge of the boardwalk, filled with various items~

There are fruits, vegetables, spring flowers, and handmade products~

And there is also the unique oil paper umbrella in Jiangnan~Experience the most rich Jiangnan water town amidst the sound of selling~

Diagonally across from the water market, there is also a street selling groceries, which is bustling and bustling just a walk away. There are countless people pulling Yangpian, blowing sugar, selling snacks, and tourists also have a great time strolling around~

Several people gathered around this freshly baked begonia cake, waiting for a delicious bite of delicious food~

After strolling through the market, you can find a tea house and sit in a daze to experience the ancient town during the day, which is different from the feeling at night.

The rowing boats by the river come and go, swaying the unique charm of the water town~

Then he walked towards the old street and met the lantern shop that passed by yesterday. Without the blessing of the night, it seemed to have lost a bit of charm, but still looked good.

Every door and window on the roadside bears traces of time, ancient and mottled.

Passing by this photo studio, Liu Ruoying also took photos here, so she took the same photo~

Bookmarks filled with blessings on the streets are also a unique feature of water towns~

Those snack shops are full of diners and their business is excellent~

There are small handmade shoe repair stalls on the roadside, which really look like scenes seen on TV~

But nowadays, people throw away their shoes when they wear them out. I'm afraid there aren't many people who actually use them for repairs, so even the people who fix shoes don't know where they are~

During the day, there is more fireworks in Xizha, and this water town in Jiangnan is also charming. After a short journey, the exploration here is still far from enough. Next time there is a chance, I will definitely stay a few more days and live a slow life in the water town.

Eden Platinum Hotel

On the return trip, we were taking the high-speed rail to Tongxiang, so we booked the Platinum Hotel in Eden near the high-speed rail station. It was diagonally opposite the station and a 5-minute walk away, which was very convenient. The hotel was newly opened last year, so the facilities were very new.

After entering the hotel, I was first amazed by the spacious and bright lobby, featuring a symmetrical design, gorgeous chandeliers, a predominantly white color scheme, and some European style decorations in the middle.

After arriving at the lobby, the staff quickly checked in and even helped us carry our luggage up the stairs, which was very considerate.

We have reserved a standard room with an elegant business style and high-quality design.

The bedding is clean and skin friendly, and once you lie down, you won't remember it anymore!

There is also an office area and a leisure area inside, where you can work or have tea and chat.

There is also a dressing room, which is a benefit for women. Sitting and applying makeup is very comfortable~

There is a big bathtub in the bathroom, beside the french window, you can take a bath while watching the scenery. It's very comfortable.

Separate the bathroom from the toilet, making it cleaner and more hygienic.

And in hotels, one cannot do without a culinary experience. On the night of check-in, we went for a buffet dinner. The restaurant was located on the second floor of the hotel, and as soon as we arrived, a waiter led us to our seats. Once we sat down, we couldn't wait to pick up our food.

Freshly baked roasted duck, fragrant and fragrant~

Baked lobster with cheese and thick soup with sea cucumber, each guest can receive one serving~

The taste is very delicious and unforgettable after eating~

Dessert area, like the benefits of eating desserts, all kinds of small Dim sum~

Salad area, the favorite of fitness and wellness enthusiasts~

And there are also Western style pastries~

Seafood area with many options, including scallops, green mouth, etc~

And crabs and shrimp~

The cooked food area is filled with various meats, such as lamb chops, steak, etc~

There are also some cooked seafood shells~

Fruit area, eat some until the end~

A table full of delicious food, paired with a glass of red wine, is truly super happy.

ending

The 3-day and 2-night trip to Wuzhen soon ended. Here, I experienced the pleasure of pastoral life, as well as the poetic flavor of small bridges and flowing water. I realized that my mother also had a great time in different watersheds in the south of the Yangtze River. The scenery everywhere made her take photos all the way and kept sharing with her sisters in the WeChat group.

Another good news is that the scenic area was temporarily closed due to the impact of the epidemic, but it has now fully reopened and can finally be visited again~
