To: Kaize Baby

You walk at the end of the countryside

Greet the world gently

I hope today, many years from now

You can still see a constant light in your eyes

Embrace the warmth of this world

In July in Shanghai, the temperature was still hovering around 30 degrees Celsius, and before the scorching summer season arrived, I thought about taking my baby out again

I am a child stroller. Starting from 4 months old, every month, I will take my baby to at least one special place to make him feel a different life. When he can only rely on hugging or crawling, I will choose some parent-child vacation hotels as the main option, but as he gradually starts to walk, I tend to go outdoors and let him truly experience nature.

At 14 months old, he is already walking quite smoothly, so I chose to take him to Wu Village to experience rural life~

After arriving, I realized that this place is also the life we long for

Wucun, a small village next to Wuzhen, is a peaceful village. Without the hustle and bustle of the city, it is more of a pure and natural place.

Perhaps Wuzhen is too famous, which may have overshadowed the brilliance of Wucun. However, people who have been there will unanimously recommend it to me. Different from the ancient town style of Wuzhen, Wucun is a picturesque countryside with original ecology.

From the decision to go to Wucun to the official departure, it only took 2 days to book tickets in advance on his official website. He chose a 3-day and 2-night package for two major and one minor

Would it be boring to stay in the same place for three days? This was a problem that Kai's father was originally worried about. It wasn't until he left Wucun that he realized that even if we stayed for a week or half a month, we wouldn't feel bored, not just for three days

Eating, drinking, and having fun all day, breathing in fresh air, eating freshly picked fruits and vegetables, growing up with children, fishing, picking, baking, one activity after another, and having a water fight together in the evening, while reminiscing about our own childhood, this is called companionship!

This may seem a bit expensive, but after visiting, I realized that the cost-effectiveness is really high. Compared to other trips, this one is the most relaxed and comfortable, with almost no need to do advance guides because in Wucun, a one price all inclusive model is adopted. That is to say, when you book online and stroll around Wucun, you no longer have to carry money in your pocket. You can completely treat yourself as a villager, wander the streets and alleys in the village, go to the places you want to go, eat what you want, experience the projects you want, and feel at will

Take your baby on a trip and keep your luggage as simple as possible:

Eating: Milk powder, 2 bottles (alternating use), portable heated water bottle (used for brewing milk), and complementary foods (babies over 1 year old do not need to bring too many complementary foods because there is a buffet in Wucun, which provides more options for babies)

Usage: diapers, hip cream, wet wipes, bath towels, pacifiers

Okay: Baby stroller

Starting from Shanghai, it takes about 2 and a half hours to reach Wucun. Cars cannot enter the village and can only park in the parking lot at the entrance of the village, without charge.

There is a registration office at the entrance of the village, where you can register for facial recognition with your ID card. It looks very advanced. For future dining and other services, accommodation guests rely on facial recognition to enter. At the same time, he will also give you a hand card, which is a proof of living here and also a proof of playing all over Wucun.

After registration, there will be a special car directly delivered to the village committee, ready to officially become a villager and start our rural life

The vast farmland along the way is green. At first glance, Wucun looks more dated than modern villages, as if it has regressed back to the 1960s and 1970s. If we bring our parents, it should resonate more with them!

Upon arriving at the village committee and quickly completing the check-in procedures, CCO led us to our room.

Who is CCO? Well, here, you must get to know them because they are one of the indispensable roles in your entire itinerary. This can also be considered a major feature of Wucun, "Chief Cultural Officer", officially translated as "enthusiastic cultural creators"... This is too catchy. For me, they are more like senior villagers from Wucun, different from the concept of a butler. They are more like big friends who know how to take care of people, the king of children among a group of children

We followed CCO from the village committee to our accommodation, where we traveled all the way through the rice warehouse. We passed by the blooming lotus pond, crossed a small river flowing under the shade of trees, and walked along the cobblestone path

Along the way, there will also be other clusters (accommodation areas). In Wucun, there are a total of 7 clusters scattered throughout the village, each with a different name, symbolizing different themes. Fishermen, mills, wine alleys, bamboo houses, rice warehouses, peach orchards, and young intellectuals all symbolize the life of the previous production team.

And what we are staying in is the rice warehouse, which means we are naturally hoarding the best rice

The area on the first floor of Micang is a public living room in the daytime. At night, it becomes a late night dining hall. The best Little pan rice in the whole village is hidden here. It is only open at night, from 17:00 to 24:00. It is also the only place in Wucun that is open at night and can also get food for free.

When I first saw the rice warehouse, I was actually a bit resistant because this building looked more like a farmhouse than a farmhouse. It was entirely built in the educated youth era, with a strong sense of the times and a strong sense of life. Of course, not only the rice warehouse, but also the houses in Wucun have been designed and renovated according to those houses with a strong sense of the times.

The large round eggplant at the entrance is very interesting to grow. CCO said that most of the vegetables and fruits seen in the fields are used on our dining table. This is also advocated in Wucun. From picking vegetables to serving in less than an hour, it is the most reassuring ingredient for babies.

After entering the room, I felt relieved. The room was not big, but it had all five internal organs, and the key was cleanliness! The room has already been set with a constant temperature, bringing a refreshing breeze. We are staying in a parent-child room with two beds, one large and one small, and it comes with a small balcony. Sitting on the balcony, you can see the vegetables you grow at home, which looks fresh and green.

I suddenly fell in love with this small house. It has a rustic style, not luxurious, but truly a return to simplicity. The toiletries in the room are all customized by Wucun, and there are also toiletries specially provided for babies, which are very thoughtful

Whether it's the floor, mosquito nets, or decorations in the house, they are meticulously crafted to restore the simplicity and nature of that era, blending seamlessly into every blade of grass and wood. The bed is surrounded by a veil to prevent mosquitoes, but it creates an extremely beautiful effect. Baby Casper once used it as a tool for hide and seek, and had a lot of fun playing with it.

Just put down his luggage and didn't sit for long, the little one couldn't wait to leave. He wanted to go see this village and see the friends here

When Baby Casper couldn't wait to argue and want to go out, it was around 2pm in the afternoon, the hottest time of the day. So, we plan to take him to the indoor Wucun Children's Playhouse for a walk first

As soon as he arrived at the children's play house, Casper was like a wild horse with a reins scattered on it, unable to stop. His two little feet were like motors, strutting inside. Seeing the LEGO wall in front of the children's play house, he was even more joyful. Unfortunately, his little hands were not yet agile, so he could only toss and roll in a pile of LEGO pools.

The children's playhouse can be accessed with a wristband. There are many projects of all sizes and more than 20 experiential activities in Wucun. Those who want to participate must make an appointment in advance through their mini program so that CCO has enough time to make arrangements. We didn't do homework, so we went to places where we can play even without making an appointment

As a standard feature of an indoor amusement park, of course, it cannot be without a mischievous castle, an ocean ball pool, a video game world, and survival exploration. For babies at a young age, the first two are the best options, not only can they play for a long time, but they also don't have to worry about falling or hurting

It's hard to pull Casper out of the amusement park and tell him we need to try more fun projects, so he reluctantly followed us out

Adjacent to the children's playground are various project halls, baking workshops, wheat field theaters, physical training rooms, DIY crafts, etc. When we went there, we encountered children from summer camps weaving fishing nets. I heard that this was their tool, and one by one, they were preparing to go to the fish pond for practical combat.

The summer camp in Wucun is well-known. Initially, when I came to Wucun, I wanted to enroll in their family's summer camp more than the freedom to travel like we do now.
If someone can arrange the itinerary throughout the entire process, the baby can still learn knowledge through play, have more social interactions with the children, and the key is that the parents can also accompany them to participate in the summer camp, achieving more with one move

But my baby is too young. Their summer camp is only 14 months old and is for children over 4 years old. There are parent-child summer camps suitable for parents to participate together. There are also drama summer camps and Internet summer camps that can be participated separately.

The children clearly had never personally woven a fishing net, but with CCO explaining it carefully and mothers helping to collaborate, everyone's net bags began to take shape.

I was originally planning to take Casper to see the small animals, but on the way, I happened to encounter the group of children who had just participated in the summer camp. My footsteps stopped and I was attracted by their playful sounds. They were ready to set off and start fishing in the mud

The children were already excited before they even got into the water. Fishing is a technical job, and the fish are agile. With a light leap, they can slide away from you, so quick eyes and quick hands are the key!

Anxious babies, accidentally stumbled and fell into a small mud figure. CCO didn't forget to showcase his skill of catching fish with bare hands and also taught everyone an idiom, "Fish in Muddy Waters", which caused cheers from students and parents

This is childhood, no need to worry about being covered in mud, no need to worry about endless homework, in the fun of growing and learning, let go of the hands that rely on my mother's side, and have a broader sky

I originally wanted to bring Casper to catch fish the next day and become a little mud man. Later, I found out that catching fish in rice paddies is an exclusive benefit for summer camps, and most individual customers cannot make appointments

Return to the Rye Field Restaurant and prepare to start our dinner~Facial recognition, enter smoothly!

Regarding catering, as mentioned earlier, Wucun offers a one price all inclusive model, so here you can eat with an open stomach

The Wheat Field Restaurant is our main camp for three days, and whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner, it's all solved here

The restaurant is facing the swimming pool. If you sit by the window, you will automatically upgrade to a scenic spot. Every evening when the sun sets in the west, it is the most beautiful. The sunset falls on the blue swimming pool, and a group of children are playing and frolicking in the pool

The Maitian Restaurant adopts a buffet format, combining Chinese and Western dishes, sushi, baked goods, desserts, ice cream, etc., making the selection more diverse. Although it is not a delicacy, almost every meal is not unique

The layout design of desserts is also deeply loved by children.

So, even after eating for three days, there is still a sense of freshness~And the fresh vegetables that came to the table within an hour, come to the countryside, don't you just want to eat something fresh and healthy

But compared to this buffet, what I recommend more is the must visit check-in spot every afternoon, the dessert shop in Taoyuan, a bowl of chilled mung bean soup, a soft and sticky rice cake, listening to cicadas chirping comfortably, and drinking desserts.

The Little pan rice in the evening is downstairs of our rice warehouse. We are in a good mood and have a good appetite. Every night, even if we have a full buffet, we don't forget to share a bowl of Little pan rice with Mr. V. The aroma of spareribs is mixed with rice. The crystal clear rice tastes delicious, and the rice is crispy but not hard

And these are all things that can be eaten for free just by playing cards. Unfortunately, there is a desire to eat the world, but there is no appetite to eat the world. It feels like we are either eating with our babies, playing together, and on the way to eating...

The village, at 7pm or 8pm, became completely quiet. After nightfall, in Wucun, only the stars and the cicadas belonging to this summer filled the sky, accompanied by this peaceful village, peacefully falling asleep.

Wake up in the morning, the morning mist has not cleared, and the sun has not yet appeared. The entire Wucun village is quiet, and the hardworking people in the fields have started working. Borrow a bicycle, take your baby to stroll around the village, and breathe the fresh air

Yesterday, we had already arranged our itinerary for today in advance on his mini program, which was full, fulfilling, and interesting

In the morning, when the baby goes back to sleep, the mothers start their slow life. They make an appointment in advance for Hada Yoga, which is taught by a foreign yoga teacher. A new day starts with spoiling themselves

After finishing breakfast at the wheat field restaurant, I'm ready to take my baby to see the small animals. This is the zoo in Wucun. Unlike other places, the small animals here are all original villagers. Common in the field are cows, large pigs, cute white rabbits, and laughing goats

Before Casper could get close to these small animals, he was startled by the loud roar of the cow. He used to hold up cards all day to teach him how to recognize small animals and learn how to call them, but it was not as real as it is now. It turned out that the small animals were so much larger than those on the cards. They used to call like this, which was different from what his mother learned... This is their most authentic understanding.

Next to the zoo is the planting greenhouse. The summer camp buddies are doing farm work in the greenhouse, carefully transplanting small vegetable seedlings, gently placing the roots in the soil, and then burying them. For parents who are worried about whether the greenhouse is hot or bitter, the children will laugh to let you relax. Only children who have experienced it firsthand will understand the meaning of "food on the plate is hard" in books.

Tired of playing, I went to the village to drink tea. I tasted a bowl of Snow fungus soup at the flowing stall, and the rest of my stomach was instantly cool~

Go back to the room and let the baby take a nap, then we strolled to the mill. As we arrived late, the children at the summer camp had already started. Carefully hold the soybeans and pour them into the grinding.

We worked together. One person pushed and the other put soybeans. When we saw the drop of fermented sour milk made from ground mung bean wow gold dripping down, the joy of success was expressed in words.

For Casper, these are all too profound, but they do not hinder his desire to explore this world. Bricks, tiles, sand, and soil can all allow him to play for a long time. More importantly, at this age, babies have a very strong imitation ability. He carefully observes the every move of other friends, and then learns from them, works hard, and becomes a qualified little villager

Today's Wucun Village is particularly lively, perhaps during the summer vacation, so there are many babies participating in the summer camp. In the indoor classroom, there are several waves of children attending classes. In the drama art class, foreign teachers are teaching them stage positioning in English. In the parent-child area, adults put down their phones and work together with the children to complete a group game

In the baking workshop, there were bursts of fragrance coming from freshly baked cookies, all made by these children themselves. The little old ladies who spend their days at home have become skilled workers here. Sometimes, it's not that children can't do it, but that you can't let go

Nowadays, babies live carefree lives all day long, and the taste of food is not so important to them. Instead, it is the sense of achievement they make themselves, which surprises them a lot. A baby exaggerates and shouts, "Wow, Mom, this is really the best cookie I have ever tasted!"! Children's sense of achievement comes from life.

Casper was too curious about these things, and wanted to try each one. Some of them were pre booked online and we could participate together. However, in order to ensure the effectiveness of their summer camp classes, my mischievous little one naturally had to avoid them. So, the following scene appeared

Little brother, I also want to come in and play...

My Casper must have been short of water in my life, so every time I see the swimming pool, I feel so ecstatic. The rice paddies swimming pool is located in this endless rice paddies, which belongs to this summer's carnival. Every evening, a group of children follow the child king CCO to the edge of the swimming pool, jumping into the water one by one, splashing water, and a water playing carnival begins. Laughter and noise instantly blend into this gentle sunset.

The swimming pool is also thoughtfully designed with a shallow water area for young babies. Even my baby, who is over 80cm tall, can break free from the constraints of the swimming ring, stand inside and stroll, splashing in the water, and try to swim independently.

We were lucky enough to even have a swimming pool party. On this romantic night, with singing, dancing, and water revelry, perhaps only videos can capture the joy of childhood at that time~

Three days and two nights passed too quickly. In Wucun, there were still many projects that I hadn't had the chance to experience. When my dad left, he was still craving the leisurely fishing experience of someone else's family sitting by the fish pond, while I was still eager to try the archery experience. There are still many unique snacks that haven't been eaten, and there are still many experiences that haven't been made.

I also wanted to try arranging a three-day and two night route to Wucun, hoping that everyone could follow this route and enjoy the entire village. However, later on, I silently pressed the delete button because this is not an amusement park and there is no need to plan in advance. Don't be greedy and try all the projects, as this experience will become very poor~

Focusing on experiencing a project and enjoying it with the kids is the most important thing.

During my days in Wucun, even if I didn't do anything, I felt very comfortable. I walked on the country path with my baby, swayed on the wooden swing together, sat on the stone steps, and watched every flower and grass with him. The world of children is very simple. You will find that they can always play with their own fun and summarize their own life experiences. There is no need to interfere too much, just accompany them and play together!

Some people often say that it was us who accompanied our baby's childhood, but I feel even more that it was these little angels who gave us another childhood.

When I was leaving, I even went to the tea house at the village head and bought some fresh vegetables and fruits that I had just picked from the field in the morning, hoping to continue this freshness and deliciousness.

If the nostalgia of our previous generation was nostalgia, then at least our generation still has the nostalgia for alleyways. I hope that in the memories of my child's growth, besides the bustling lights, there will still be the most simple and pure existence in his heart.

The wonder of Wucun is that you can't say he is particularly good, but it is this kind of lifestyle that allows you to truly live the life of a villager for 3 days and 2 nights. From then on, falling in love with him has become the life you long for

Interesting places always make people reluctant to leave. Even if they leave, they will come back and say goodbye just for the next time. Perhaps it's just for the near future~

Wucun Tip:

The summer weather is quite hot, and the places where Wu Village plays are composed of indoor and outdoor parts. Therefore, from around 11pm to 4pm, it is recommended to arrange indoor activities for the baby, such as Naughty Castle, Lego, or DIY, mills, baking, etc. The morning and evening in the village are quite cool, so you can take the baby to grow vegetables and feed small animals. In the evening, be sure to go to the swimming pool to experience the coolness of summer, so as not to waste this summer~

Regarding eating, the wheat field restaurant offers three buffet meals a day, all of which are distributed over a long period of time, so there is no need to worry about missing out on food due to playing.
Breakfast: 7:00-10:00
Lunch: 11:30-13:30
Dinner: 17:30-20:00
Even if you miss the meal, there are mill snacks (10:00-17:00), which provide mixed noodles, Wonton, soybean milk, etc., while only in the evening, there is a popular Little pan rice, and you don't have to worry about not finding a place to have supper at night. All kinds of snacks and desserts are completely unappetizing.

For those who have never been to Wuzhen, it is recommended to take a stroll in Xizha. The night in Xizha is particularly seductive. During our days in Wucun, we couldn't bear to leave the village for a moment, so we arranged our itinerary for Wuzhen until the day before we left.
Leave your luggage at the village committee, where there is a car that allows you to directly enter the ancient town. Even the road from the parking lot to the scenic area is saved. The key is that the package in Wucun also includes a ticket to the west gate of Wuzhen (150 yuan/person). During the accommodation period, you can enter and exit freely without any limit.
