Most tourists who come to Xiamen come to Gulangyu, but tourists who visit the island for the first time are always confused as to which attractions they can visit and which attractions are not necessary. As a local tourist in Xiamen, I really worry about you. Heartbreaking, this guide is here to mine mines and weeds for everyone. I hope it will help everyone.

Must read before landing on the island

The first thing to know is: Go to Gulangyu to buy a ferry ticket! Boat is the only means of transportation to the island! Don't find out about buying a ferry ticket until you arrive at the dock. If you can determine the travel time, it is best to purchase tickets two or three days in advance.

Pay attention to the Weixin Official Accounts "Xiamen Ferry Company, Ltd." and choose "Ticket Purchase" to purchase ferry tickets within 15 days in advance. After successful purchase, you will directly swipe your ID card and go to the island. One account supports purchasing up to 5 ferry tickets at a time. Or you can purchase tickets on site. Ps: Don't buy scalper tickets!! Don't buy scalper tickets!!

Ticket price: 35 yuan (General Class)/50 yuan (VIP Class)(Personally, I suggest buying a 35 yuan ticket is enough)
Class: 20 minutes/class
Docking at: Sanqiutian Pier/Neicuo O Pier
Duration of stay: Up to 15 days
Usage: You can swipe your ID card and return trip
Refund and change status: No change is allowed, but a refund can be applied for before the flight starts (the time must not be less than 1 hour). A 10% handling fee will be charged for each ticket.
Children's tickets: Children under 1.2m are free. If you purchase tickets online, you will see the option of whether to bring children. Just check it. Half price for 1.2m to 1.5m, and one adult can only bring one child. Child identification documents must be provided.

Pier selection

Tourists can choose to go to the island from Sanqiutian Pier or Neicuo O Pier.

Most traditional routes choose to go to the island from Sanqiutian, because it is close to the busiest place on Gulangyu Island. Generally, after getting off the boat, you will go to Longtou Road, a snack street. However, the pier in Sanqiutian is relatively small, and most tourists go to the island from here, which will cause you to just dock from the sea and have to travel through the sea.

Neicuo O Pier can avoid the flow of people and walk all the way along the coastline. Not far from the beach, you can feel the original appearance of the island. Along the way, there is the Shell Museum, the largest beach in Gulangyu Island-Gangzihou Beach, and Shuzhuang Garden, one of the five major attractions. It is a leisurely and fulfilling route.

Today's main talk is about the points to pay attention to when starting from Sanqiutian Wharf:

Nowadays, everyone will check the strategies in advance when traveling, but some strategies are equivalent to letting tourists come and run around the island. The Z-shaped route is time-consuming and labor-intensive. It is better to rely on the Gaode map and choose a route to connect the attractions they want to visit. Some tourists also choose to find a tour guide. In fact, there is no need at all. You can walk in every alley on the island, and all alleys lead to the dock. You will also find surprises. There is an Internet celebrity check-in point not far from Sanqiutian Wharf. -The most beautiful corner. If you want to take beautiful photos, you must be fully prepared to queue up. Moreover, even if it is your turn, a group of people around you are looking at you with eyes on you. If you want to put on a beautiful pose, you must also do enough psychological construction. Those who are shy can pass here. Beautiful photos can be taken in many alleys in Gulangyu. If you are not too hungry, I suggest not to eat the snacks on Longtou Road. Most of the so-called "time-honored brands" and "authentic snacks" are fakes, and those that are truly recognized by locals are generally difficult to find. Be careful on the island. If you hold a drink on the roadside, you may be dragged into the store after drinking it, so be brave enough to say no! Don't buy hand-accompanying gifts on Gulangyu, and don't eat seafood on Gulangyu. It's expensive and not delicious. Remember one thing when visiting Gulangyu: Looking at the surrounding architectural styles and blowing the sea breeze to see the beautiful scenery is more cost-effective than eating and drinking in the snack street. If you come to Gulangyu to check in during the tourist season, the five major scenic spots will queue up until you despair. The sea of people is definitely your deepest memory. At most 30 people can go to the commanding heights of Riguangyan at a time, and each person can only stay for 5 minutes. Even if you wait in line for an hour or two during the peak season, you may not be your turn. However, first-time tourists can still choose to visit the five major attractions. The beautiful scenery of Shuzhuang Garden, which combines Chinese and Western scenery, is definitely worth the ticket price. Many of the scenic spots written in the guide can only be watched at the door and passed by. If you go to the scenic spots specifically, you will find that you can't even enter the door. It is a pity that many former residences have been converted into B & Bs. There are many churches on Gulangyu Island that will appear in various strategies. However, on the one hand, these churches "can only be viewed from a distance and cannot be touched on". On the other hand, even if they can only watch from the door, there are still too many people taking wedding dresses at the door. It is not clear whether those who take photos are real newbies or models, but taking a photo with difficulty in people's people really doesn't feel happy! If you pass by, you can take a look, so just go specifically. There are many museums on the island, all worth visiting: Piano Museum, Organ Museum, Forbidden City Foreign Cultural Relics Museum, Food Rhapsody Museum, Shell Museum. Among them, the Piano Museum is located inside Shuzhuang Garden. Don't miss it. There is also a foreign bookstore (Owls Tower) that is also good.

The recommended time to visit the island is in the morning, and it takes four to five hours to stroll around and take photos. Gulangyu is very dark at night. If you want to stroll Gulangyu at night, you must pay attention to safety. Of course, it is best not to. If you don't plan to stay on the island for one night, you can leave the island from the "Sanqiutian Wharf" and have a 24-hour flight back to Xiamen Island ~~
