After breakfast, at about 9 o'clock, the scenic area staff took everyone to the world's largest tulou-Zhuangshang Tulou, which is also a national key protected unit.

There is a large pool in front of the Zhuangshang Tulou. Like many Hakka Tulou, there is a pond at the entrance, which conforms to the laws of feng shui. This is a major feature of Hakka architecture. Standing outside the tulou, people see green water and blue sky. The peaks of Lingtong Mountain in the distance are high and low, just like green peaks. Facing this scene, as a tourist, I was really intoxicated!

The tulou in Zhuangshang is so big that it is unbelievable. Looking from afar, you can only see part of the outer wall of the tulou. The layout of this earthen building is square, but the four corners are consciously changed to circles. It is said that the circumference of Zhuangshang Tulou is more than 700 meters long and the maximum diameter is 220 meters. The circumference of a standard middle school playground is four hundred meters. It is hard to imagine how long the periphery of this earthen building is. The construction area of Zhuangshang Tulou is more than 9,000 square meters and covers an area of more than 34,000 square meters. The internal building of the Tulou is divided into two rings: inner and outer rings, both of which are bucket type wooden beams. The outer ring has three floors and a total of 142 units.

In history, the residents of Tulou were all Yates. When it was heard, Tulou lived in more than 180 households, with more than 1,800 people. The two-way ancestral hall is similar in shape to the Chaoshan building "Mountain Tiger", which reminds me of many ancestral halls in the Chaoshan area of eastern Guangdong. Like Chaoshan people, the Hakka people have ancestors from the Central Plains, so they attach great importance to clan culture. This ancestral temple is a reflection of the cohesion of the Hakka people's clan. There are four ancestral temples in Zhuangshang Tulou, which is rare in ordinary Tulou. Ordinary Tulou only has one ancestral temple at most.
