Being inland, I have only seen rivers and rivers since I was a child. It has always been my dream to see the sea. Unfortunately, this dream has not yet been completed, so I took advantage of the gap between changing jobs and with unfinished wishes. Holding my parents, I embarked on a journey to Xiamen to see the sea.
Sitting on the plane, I have always been uneasy because I checked the weather before and found that this week was either heavy rain or moderate rain. There seemed to be typhoons. It was really not a tourist day!
In the evening, when I arrived in Xiamen, it was really cloudy, which made me very worried about tomorrow's itinerary. My mother comforted me: Since I came, I should take it easy. Maybe it will be sunny tomorrow. Even if it rained, we can still play with umbrellas.
Gaoqi Airport is really good compared to our airports in small cities on the 18th line. Unfortunately, we arrived too late and had no time to visit the boutique on those floors. We only had time to "stroll" the toilet. Although it was a toilet, it was very clean. The plastic cover of the toilet seat was automatically changed, which was very sanitary. In addition, the free hand-drawn maps at the airport are quite good.
Then, we took the Airport Express Line to Zengcuo 'an. The night view along the way was beautiful. In the night, the yellow and white lights depicted the outline of the building, showing a simple, atmospheric and fashionable beauty, demonstrating the style of Xiamen's international city., for me, it was really a surprise!
Note: Airport Express, Gaoqi Airport → Zengcuo 'an, ticket price is 15 yuan/person, the ticket office is outside the arrival floor exit, opposite Exit 9 of T3.
As soon as we arrived in Zengcuo 'an, we went straight to the inn to check in. After settling our luggage, we went out to find something to eat. We specially tried the local snack Shacha Noodle and found that it was the same as eating Malatang where we ate Malatang, we chose our own ingredients and then We cooked it in a pot. However, the taste was completely different from Malatang. We couldn't get used to this taste. We really wish we had Malatang in front of us!
Zeng CuO an
A typical tourist attraction is a popular place to stay in addition to Gulangyu. Across the road is the sea, making it convenient to see the sea; outside is the Airport Express Station (under the big banyan tree), and opposite is the No. 29 bus stop (the seaside bus stop that often appears in movies), making travel convenient; inside is a snack street, theme inn, Internet celebrity shop, one-stop service for eating, drinking, accommodation. These conveniences have attracted many tourists who come here and are the reason why we chose to stay here. Unfortunately, the sound of soliciting customers, the mixed products, and the famous Internet celebrity pit broke my good impression of it.
the first day
Inn → sunrise on the sea → Nanputuo Temple → Xiamen University → Baicheng Beach → Yanwu Bridge viewing platform → World Trade Center → Ding 'ao Maozi Street → Railway Cultural Park → Inn → Cycling around the island → Inn
I have seen the sunrise in the mountains. Although it was many years ago, every time I recall the spectacular scene when the sun rose, I still feel a lot. Therefore, watching the sunrise on the sea is one of the important itineraries of my trip. However, the weather was not beautiful, and it rained intermittently in the middle of the night. At five o'clock in the morning, although it did not rain, the clouds were very thick. We waited by the beach for a long time but did not see the sunrise. We had to go home in disappointment and stop by at Huangze and peanut soup at the intersection for breakfast.
Huang Zehe Peanut Soup
Xiamen's old restaurant is suitable for breakfast, affordable and tastes good. The signature egg and peanut soup is 7 yuan/serving. It tastes sweet but not greasy. Other things are also cheap and delicious, such as quicksand buns 3 yuan/serving, sweet boxes 3 yuan/serving, fried rice strips 3 yuan/serving, and 20 yuan/serving. It should be noted that the payment method here is a bit special. You must first apply for a card at the checkout counter to recharge, then go to the dining counter window to order and swipe your card, and then go to the checkout counter to refund the card and refund the money after eating!
nanputuo temple
After breakfast, we took the No. 29 bus to Nanputuo Temple. There were no tickets and the incense was free. It was surrounded by trees and overgrown with flowers and plants. The scenery was pleasant, the air was fresh and it was extremely comfortable. You can either go to the temple to worship Bodhisattva, climb Wulao Peak to enjoy the panoramic view, or go to the release pool to feed white doves and watch the white pagoda.
Note: Bus No. 29, Zengcuo 'an Station → Xiamen University Xicun Station, ticket price is 1 yuan/person, and the whole journey is about 15 minutes.
Xiamen University
When you go out of Nanputuo Temple and turn left, you will find the south gate of Xiamen University. We made an appointment online before, so we can enter the school directly by bringing our ID card and brushing our face. An appointment is very important, which is why I came despite the risk of a typhoon. Because Xiamen University will register for new students and conduct military training from September 10 to 30, and will not accept visitors, I can only choose to come before the 10th. I made an appointment to visit September 6 from 8:00 to 13:00.
Note: Reservations must be made 3 days in advance, and the public account number "U Xiamen University" must be paid attention to make an appointment.
The architecture of Xiamen University is very distinctive, combining Chinese and Western styles. The orange roof is dotted with white walls, giving people a solemn, simple and lively feeling.
I just want to go to Furong Lake to confirm if there are really black swans in it. There are indeed, and there are several.
Sit on the winding field and take a rest.
The graffiti works in the Furong Tunnel are worth seeing, showing the artistic talent, wild ideas and bohemian side of Xiamen University students.
After watching the graffiti, we went to the Furong Restaurant next door for dinner. Only the third floor was open to the public. There were many snacks from all over the country. The food was delicious, the price was right, and the portions were sufficient. It was worth a visit.
It's really impossible to visit Baicheng Beach at noon.
From the Yanwu Bridge viewing platform, you can see the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center and Gulangyu Island.
Even under the scorching sun, many people took photos in the concave shape, which shows how good this location is, but it is better to come in the morning and evening.
Ding 'ao Maozi Street is really a paradise for cat friends. It's so cute!
The Railway Cultural Park is actually an abandoned section of railway. I feel that the real scene is not as good as the photos and is not worth a special visit. However, when it comes to going to the toilet, music does play.
Cycling around the island
After going back to the inn to wash up and rest for a while, we changed into clothes suitable for riding, took the bus to the foot of the coconut wind village, rented a three-seater bicycle, and rode along the Huandao Road. The sea breeze, afterglow, and coconut trees felt really good. Remember to experience a round-island ride when you come to Xiamen.
Note: For regular bicycle points, the car rental deposit is 200 yuan, 10 yuan for the first hour, and 5 yuan per hour thereafter. Scan the QR code on the car body to unlock it.。
We rode all the way to Huangcuo Beach and wanted to see the sunset, but unfortunately we didn't see it. We saw many people riding the waves and playing in the water. We were so happy that we joined in and played for a while before reluctantly riding to the music square to return the car.
the next day
Inn → Gulangyu → Eight Cities → Haibin Park → Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street → Inn
Early in the morning, we took the No. 87 bus to the cruise ship center terminal, preparing to take a boat to Gulangyu, where the legendary sound of piano was heard everywhere.
Note: Bus No. 87 is not taken opposite Zengcuo 'an. You have to go to the other side, Science and Technology Middle School Station → Cruise Center Terminal Station. The fare is 1 yuan/person, and the journey takes about 45 minutes.
Note: The cruise center terminal is Xiagu Pier, and the regular route is from Xiagu Pier to Sanqiutian Pier. You can either pay attention to "Xiamen Ferry Co., Ltd." and book tickets online in advance, with the fare of 35 yuan/person; you can also go directly to the site to buy tickets. It seems that it only costs 30 yuan/person. With valid documents, you can take a free return flight within 20 days. You can choose Sanqiutian or Neicuo 'ao Wharf to catch a boat. You can return to Xiagu Wharf before 6 p.m., and return to Xiamen Ferry Terminal (Zhongshan Road) after 6 p.m.
Gulangyu
This small island has beautiful scenery and is deeply loved by filmmakers and cultural youth. It has become a resort for filming and taking photos. With the promotion of the movie, Gulangyu Island has gradually become famous, and there is an endless stream of tourists coming here. Even in the small off-season, it is full of people.
However, it was not as good as expected. We didn't hear the sound of pianos from every household. The path was difficult to walk, and it was easy to get lost, and road signs were confusing.
Some buildings from the past are preserved here, which are simple and desolate, and there is also a brief introduction written on the door number to allow visitors to understand its owner and history.
Gulangyu has several major attractions, such as Riguangyan, Shuzhuang Garden, Haoyue Garden, Organ Museum, etc. The joint ticket for the attractions is 90 yuan/person.
I have always heard that things on the island are expensive and businesses are dark. In fact, they are not that bad. The prices of the things sold are similar to those outside the island, perhaps because the government has rectified them before.
It was so hot that it was nearly noon, and we were ready to leave the island. I didn't expect that there were many people leaving the island, and more people entering the island. Basically, they were tour groups. I found that most of the people entering the island in the morning were individual tourists, and those entering the island at noon were tour groups. We lined up at the dock for a while. It was hard to imagine how many people there were and how spectacular the scene would be during the peak period of leaving the island after 3 p.m. So, avoid the peak period if you can avoid it!
eight cities
After leaving the island, we went straight to Bashi. This is an old vegetable market. You can see the trace of time. Except for the abundance of seafood, it feels similar to the vegetable market there. It is down-to-earth and gives me a sense of familiarity and intimacy.
There were so many seafood that I was dazzled by the sight. Unfortunately, we are allergic to seafood and have no taste, only a feast for our eyes. In addition, there are also many snacks, pasta, cooked food, and fruits here. For example, Ajie five-spice (4 yuan/root), Zhong Lijun Manjian Cake (2.5 yuan/piece), Zhu Ji hand-shredded chicken (by weight, almost 37 yuan/half a piece), etc. The taste of the food is okay, but some bosses or employees are indifferent. However, the fruits here are really fresh and delicious, and the prices are affordable.
After leaving Bashi, we came to Haibin Park, opposite the Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street. We faced the sea, looked at the scenery, sat and rested, ate, chatted, listened to the old man's singing, and waited for the night to fall.
Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, it is said that it gives you a better feeling to go shopping at night. Indeed, the stylish and unified building, coupled with the lighting effects, is quite beautiful. However, the street is full of specialties. Is this street a tourist street? There are many snack bars in the alleys, and some have long queues in front of them. I can't help but run to find out. Is it really so delicious? Is it worth waiting in line for so long? Hmm ~ It's delicious, but it's not good enough to be worth waiting in line for so long to buy it.
the third day
Inn → Beach → Sea Subway → Jimei Xuecun → Inn → Takasaki Airport
On the morning of the last day, we specially arranged to go to the beach for a swim, and I was stunned. The main reason was that my parents were swimming, and I was in a daze. Clear water and blue sky, sea breeze blowing, men and women, old and young, some swimming, some treading waves, some digging sand, some taking photos, some playing, some running... The sea is really the best background, setting off a beautiful picture of the picture, and the laughter kept coming in my ears. It feels so good. I really want to stay for a few more days and just sit quietly by the beach in a daze, thinking about anything or doing nothing.
Although I am not a fan of Hayao Miyazaki, I also want to experience the real-life version of the sea train in "Spirited Away" and see the most beautiful sea subway section. However, I feel that this sea subway is like taking a train across the Yangtze River Bridge. It is nothing special and not as beautiful as the legend says. Sometimes the fence blocks the view. However, I think this is the best means of transportation to Jimei Village.
Note: Haishang Metro, Zhenhai Road Station → Jimei Xuecun Station, direction of Iwaoui, ticket price is 5 yuan/person.
Jimei school village
This place was founded by Mr. Chen Jiageng, a leader of patriotic overseas Chinese. Due to its beautiful scenery, it is deeply favored by film and television people, and many idol dramas are filmed here.
Each college has its own style and characteristics. We first met two freshmen from the Navigation College wearing Navy T-shirts, and they enthusiastically guided us to visit their colleges. It was quite good.
Mr. Jiageng's former residence can be visited for free. I think it is worth a visit. Here, we can learn about this old man's life story and character, and we need to settle down and examine it carefully. The old man does everything himself, and even if he is seriously ill, he does not trouble others. He lives a simple life and does not have many personal belongings. The only few items have been repaired and used for many years. He is stingy with himself and generous to others, especially when running schools. He is particularly generous, he said: "Thousands of money that should be used will have to be spent, and not a penny should be wasted." Looking at the old gentleman's belongings in the display window and thinking of his efforts to run schools in Xiamen, my eyes couldn't help but get wet.
Jiageng Park is solemn and elegant. We only went to Aoyuan, where there are Jiageng Mausoleum and Liberation Monument, standing high on the beach and majestic. If I weren't in a hurry, I would really like to take a good tour of the park and visit the museum.
Dragon Boat Pond. There are indeed dragon boats in the pond. Along the road are buildings in the southern Fujian style that combine Chinese and Western. A large number of tour groups have gathered on the other side. They have not seen many tourists in the places they have visited before. My parents have always felt that Jimei School Village is too unpopular. The dense figures on the other side finally prove that it is not too cold here.
This is how my journey to Xiamen ended. This city left me with good memories, with clean streets, blue sea, lively streets, beautiful universities, convenient transportation... I hope I can go again in the future and see more scenery.
