This time, I finally checked in to the Waldorf Astoria Xiamen. The hotel is located in the Panji Lotus in the center of Xiamen City, hidden in the hustle and bustle of the busy city, sitting on a large tranquil oasis, and offering a panoramic view of the city's beautiful skyline. Adjacent to Xiamen's luxurious shopping mall, the store is surrounded by Metro Line 1, adjacent to Lotus Park, the Philippine Consulate, and only 8 kilometers from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport, making travel extremely convenient.
Drive to the hotel's drop-off area and experience the luxury and services of the Waldorf Astoria. The iconic manor-style arched door is equipped with exquisite handles, a carpet embedded in the Waldorf logo, a concierge in neat uniforms opens the door, and the beige wall toning is not only calm and clear.
The landscape pool next to the main entrance is equipped with moss and green plants, which interprets the large space inside and outside Xiamen Island and its sea garden. There are koi carp in the pool, which means passenger ships travel. The designer is very thoughtful.
I have heard many times from friends in the circle praise the Waldorf Astoria Xiamen Hotel, and spoke highly of its interior design, catering products, and services. After exploring the hotel in depth this time, we found that the spatial layout and combination, color matching and decoration, lighting art and details are extremely exquisite, as well as the classic peacock element creation of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
The hotel was designed and completed by three giants in the world: D'Lab, AB CONCEPT and STRICKLAND. AB Concept led the design of the hotel's public spaces; D'Lab was responsible for creating the interiors of guest rooms; and ST Rickland designed the HOKKLO, SPA, 1387, and Brasserie ONE areas.
Opening the door and walking into the hotel, what you see is not the standard open lobby, but the concierge reception space. The ultra-high design, blue background wall, and circular wrought iron decorative windows are like walking into a European manor.
Walking along the corridor, I saw the representative clock of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, a "time machine" created by Swiss artist Florian Schlumpf-hoping to freeze time in the Waldorf Astoria.
Walking through the clock, you can vaguely see the hotel's front desk. The lights are much dimmer than the concierge space, retaining the privacy of the guests. The designer turned the front desk into a sea. The blue color ranged from deep to light, which represented the different depth of the sea when the sun shone down.
Opposite the front desk is a specially designed library by the hotel, which I personally think is more like a living room. The library is built in the shape of a cabin with curved borders for more privacy. The lights are dimmer than the front desk. Books, sofas, and floor lamps are placed in a regular manner, adding another "empty" place for hotel guests.
The hotel adopts a dual elevator design that allows guests to reach all areas of the hotel on one side, while the other side is for dining guests and only reaches the hotel restaurant. The elevator room is equipped with leather benches that can sit and rest during the ascent and descent process. This design is especially suitable for guests who are tired from the journey, allowing people to relax physically and mentally for a short time.
Waldorf Astoria Xiamen has a total of 245 rooms and suites, starting from the 19th floor and covering an area of 55 square meters. Each room has a bathtub. The floor-to-ceiling windows provide a panoramic view of the city. The room I stayed in this time can bring in the view of Lotus Park and sunset scenery.
All rooms are designed in two main colors, with southern Fujian stone and wood elements as the essence: one is the rich and warm red-brown brown color, which is a tribute to Xiamen's tea culture; the other is the light and lively water-green color, inspired by the tranquil atmosphere of the seashore.
This time I was with a friend. He stayed in the aqua green color, while I stayed in the red-brown color. Not only were the colors different, but the spatial layout also had its own characteristics. The bedroom of the guest room is equipped with a comfortable sofa, long tables and chairs, TV, minibar cabinet, and electric curtains. The feather art paintings on the background of the bed are also different.
Among them, the design minibar is full of facilities. It not only includes Nestle capsule coffee machines and coffee capsules, TWG tea bags, VOSS mineral water, but also Xiamen specialty snacks, etc., which guests can enjoy for free.
The walk-in closet must be a favorite place for women. The washing and shower space is also large, and it is equipped with dual vanities, which interprets the main color more deeply; the bathroom brand is Doranbacht, and the bathing supplies will be fully replaced in June. It is a large bottle from the Aesop brand.
During our stay, we checked in several restaurants in the hotel, and they were all very recommended.
Pan Teng
Pan Teng on the first floor of the hotel is located between the main entrance and the front desk. The high-rise design of the two-story building is like Nanyang or living in a European manor. The restaurant adopts fresh and clear colors, arched doors and windows design, and circular decorative art. When I came in, I couldn't help but take a few photos.
Yiting
Yiting, full of low-key luxury, cleverly penetrates peacock elements into it. The designer used different levels of green to interpret the layering of peacock feathers.
The partition design between restaurants creates a private dining atmosphere from different angles. In the middle are green plants displayed in glass, vividly expressing the atmosphere of Xiamen's "Sea Garden".
I ordered an afternoon tea with a friend and tasted it slowly here. The afternoon tea product not only has a high value, but also has salty desserts, hot scones and freshly brewed hot tea; it is worthy of two or three friends who can talk to each other, and the afternoon time is always so pleasant. Pastries of various flavors are also displayed on the counter, including Waldorf's most classic red velvet cake, which can also be tasted here. However, when I came home late the night before, I saw it placed in the room. It was so beautiful that I couldn't bear to eat it, but after taking a sip, I couldn't help but finish it all.
In the good weather, you might as well go out indoors and go to the outdoor terrace dining area. The designer turned it into an urban sky garden, where many green plants were planted. At the same time, he also added floral art to the window sill of the building. Walking through it, I felt like returning to the retro Nanyang era.
From the white spiral staircase connecting Yiting on the fifth floor, you can reach Huiyi Restaurant and Xiancheng Restaurant in the entire hotel.
Huiyi Western Restaurant
Huiyi Western Restaurant adopts a highly saturated color mix, filled with red and green everywhere. Xiamen local elements are also integrated into it, such as piano, music symbols, seagulls, bougainvillea, green plants and bird specimens, as well as tile splicing and shutter partitions, filled with a strong Nanyang style.
Huiyi Western Restaurant mainly provides semi-buffet breakfast and lunch and dinner a la carte. The dishes mainly include French and European dishes. The breakfast is exquisite, not only featuring Chinese and Western cuisine, but also a blend of local specialties in Xiamen. In addition to all kinds of breads, guests can also eat Shacha noodles.
Xiancheng Chinese Restaurant
Huiyi Western Restaurant and Xiancheng Chinese Restaurant are on the same floor. You can reach the scattered area of Xiancheng Chinese Restaurant through the promenade of Huiyi Western Restaurant. The restaurant adopts more green tones and is full of vitality and hope. Xiancheng Chinese Restaurant specializes in Fujian cuisine and seafood. The decoration of the private rooms is also full of strong Nanyang style.
This time, I tasted many innovative and creative Fujian dishes. Not only did they taste fresh, but the products were also of high value. I couldn't help but take more pictures.
Gym Outdoor pool
The outdoor area of the hotel is equipped with a small garden, where you can see children's favorite slides, mini golf, and a long swimming pool; the swimming pool is equipped with comfortable lounge chairs. In the green pool, you can not only swim and exercise, but also take beautiful photos in a concave shape. This is also the place where many Internet celebrities compete to check in.
The hotel's fitness room is open 24 hours a day and guests can access it by swiping their room card. I like the spatial layout of the gym very much. In addition to professional fitness equipment, there is also a leisure space equipped with sofas and long tables; you can also rest and drink water here after sweating like rain. This design has won the favor of fitness experts.
spa
This time we also visited the hotel's spa. The water features at the entrance were a lot of relaxing; the green walls were made of large areas of real plants.
The corridor leading to the guest rooms is like a tunnel of time and space, and every guest who comes here can't help but have to take photos.
The physiotherapy room abandons the traditional dark space and instead introduces outdoor tree-shaded trees to make the interior more vibrant. After experiencing the massage, you can also go to the outdoor leisure area to taste a good cup of tea and experience the tranquility and peace of the moment.
Wanzhuan Ludao
I have been to Xiamen many times, but some tourist destinations still fascinate me, such as Gulangyu Island after the epidemic. Walking there, I still feel the strong literary atmosphere; admiring lotus flowers and feeding black swans in Wuyuanwan Park; feeding pigeons in Jimei Garden Expo Garden; tasting local specialties in the streets and alleys of Xiamen; Xiamen, I can gain new happy memories every time I come.
