Looking back on 2010, when I came to Xiamen to celebrate the New Year with my best friend, I had never left the country yet, and even Taiwan on the other side of the country was extremely yearning for it. It was winter, we didn't wear much, we were carrying a 500D camera and dragging a big box. We met in a rainy day. I walked around the attractions step by step. The excitement of the tour was still changing to different themed hotels every day. Looking back at the photos at that time, I still felt very warm.

This summer, late summer, and I wanted to take a short trip. I chose Xiamen, packed up the summer clothes that were about to be sealed, brought Wang Xiansen, and brought my memories. In summer, I was in Xiamen.

There are three transportation options from Hangzhou to Xiamen:
1. By plane, there are many flights from Hangzhou to Xiamen, with a journey of more than an hour. Except for holidays, there are basically special tickets for the rest of the time. The price is between 200 and 300 yuan. You can book about 10 days in advance. Because you have to arrive at the airport 2 hours in advance for flights, the time is actually similar to taking the high-speed rail. Many hotels in downtown Xiamen offer free pick-up services, and Xiamen Airport is not too far from the city center and the terminal. Regardless of delays, it is still very convenient to arrive by plane.
2. Motor train/high-speed rail, the journey varies from 5 to 7 hours. The fare for the bullet train is 281.5 yuan (second-class seat), and the fare for the high-speed rail is 376 yuan (second-class seat). Compared with the plane, the price is not much advantage. Moreover, Xiamen Motor Station is very far away from the urban area, but the advantage of taking the train is that it can be changed or refunded. It is suitable for people who are uncertain about the itinerary, and there are almost no delays.
3. Self-driving takes about 8 hours. This road is full of high speed and has no scenery to speak of. Unless you want to leave when you want to, there is really no need to choose to drive yourself.

Gulangyu Ferry: With the increasing number of tourists going to Gulangyu, tourists and citizens now need to take separate boats in order to control passenger flow. During the day, tourists need to go to the cruise center Xiagu Wharf or Songgu Wharf for a boat ride. At night, they still go to the former ferry terminal for night flights. The ticket price has also changed from the previous unified 8 yuan to the current 35 yuan for tourists and 8 yuan for citizens. If you go in season, you may not be able to buy tickets at the scene.

Xiamen Railway Station: 5 kilometers away from the terminal. It takes about 10 minutes by taxi. You can take buses 952, 19a,116,950 to get off at the ferry station.
Xiamen North Railway Station: 24.6 kilometers away from the terminal. It takes about 30 minutes by taxi. You can take Bus No. 950 to get off at the ferry station.
Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport: 13.8 kilometers from the terminal, about 20 minutes by taxi, you can take the Airport Express Ferry Line and the Airport Bus Line to the Ferry Station/Lujiang Road Station.
Zeng Cuo 'an: 7.4 kilometers away from the dock. It takes about 20 minutes by taxi, and takes Bus No. 29 to get off at Haibin Building Station.
Xiamen University: 4 kilometers away from the dock, about 15 minutes by taxi, take buses No. 2, 29, 841, and 112 to the Ferry Bus Station/Ferry Post Office Station.

Connecting transportation to the cruise center Xiagu Pier:
Xiamen Railway Station: 6.2 kilometers from the terminal, about 15 minutes by taxi, and take buses 26, 842, 43, and 58 to Cruise Center Terminal/Dongdu Huweishan Station.
Xiamen North Railway Station: 21.4 kilometers away from the dock. It takes about 30 minutes by taxi, and takes Bus No. 957 to get off at Dongdu Station.

[Xiamen City Public Transport] Xiamen's public transport system is very developed, with fares starting from 1 yuan and priced in sections. Popular scenic spots such as Huandao Road, Zhongshan Road, Xiamen University, etc. all have multiple bus routes. It is quite convenient to take bus during non-peak commuting periods.

[Taxi] Xiamen taxis start at 8 yuan/3 kilometers during the day, then 2 yuan/kilometer. Finally, there is a fuel fee of 1 yuan. The starting price from 23:00 to 5:00 is 9.6 yuan/3 kilometers, and then 2.4 yuan/kilometer. We chose taxis for most of the city's transportation during this trip. We can reach the place we want to go for more than ten yuan, which is very affordable.

As a tourist city, Xiamen naturally has quite rich accommodation options. You can choose from a youth hotel for a hundred yuan to a star-rated hotel for a thousand yuan. The most popular ones are family hotels. The decoration is basically small and fresh, and the price in the off-season is basically between 100-300 yuan. The more popular accommodation in Xiamen is mainly located in Gulangyu, Huandao Road/Zengcuo 'an area and Xiamen University/Zhongshan Road area.

Now I have booked a B & B in Gulangyu, and later I have booked a B & B in Zengcuo 'an on the island.

The principles for choosing accommodation are absolutely simple and crude: convenience + comfort. Taking into account the convenience of transportation and the hard work of taking care of the baby, the selection criteria for accommodation have been improved. This time we chose the "Youdu Other Courtyard". We held a meeting here many years ago. This time, we can be regarded as visiting the old place again with our children.

The location of "Youdu Bieyuan" is very good. It is easy to find in Zengcuo 'an! The service rooms are all very good. I stayed here once many years ago. I have known the boss for a long time. This time, I have visited the old place again!

Day1 Hangzhou-Xiamen, a journey that was narrowly missed

With everything in place, we almost let the unfamiliar driver wander around and make our trip waste. Fortunately, at the last minute when the ticket gate was about to close, we finally caught the train to Xiamen and began the long 6-hour drive. (PS: Of course, if we miss it, we can't rule out that we will make up for the next train and stand for 6 hours to Xiamen.)

Because I arrived at Xiamen North Railway Station after 8 p.m., I didn't spend any more energy to find the bus at the terminal. I decisively took a taxi and met the driver of Tenergy-round again. He learned that we were going to the ferry terminal to take a boat. He kept saying that he must be wrong all the way. Tourists can only go to the cruise terminal. The ferry terminal is for locals. Until I showed him the ticket order and told him that the ship during the day and the ship at night were not in the same place, he refused to admit this is the truth. He also said that probably the official website had not been updated, and then enthusiastically asked a few friends, but all the responses he received were the cruise terminal! Fortunately, we insisted on going to the ferry terminal and got on the boat successfully, otherwise we would have to go through it again. I would like to remind everyone that everything is subject to the terminal shown on the ticket, and you must trust the information on the official website!
The five-minute boat crossing is simply a flash of time. It is said that some people bought their own sailboats to commute across the sea, as easily as riding a battery car. After arriving on the island, I was confused all the way and passed through a long cave. In my memory, I could see a prosperous area on the island. This time, the dock should be different from before. Looking for them, I met an equally confused couple on the way. They joined the team looking for a hotel with their stupid mobile phone navigation. I finally found Huating Hotel and saw a certificate at the front desk with the words "Best Comfortable Sleep Award. Yes, it should be very quiet if it is hidden so deeply.

The moment I put down my luggage, after I relaxed, I finally felt that my stomach had been empty for a long time. It was already 10 o'clock. Can I still find food? The young man at the front desk took a map and drew a winding route for me to mark the location of the food street. At a glance, it was far away, so he decisively sent Wang Xiansen to buy it! Wang Xiansen, who was usually road-blind, went out with the map in hand. He was still a little worried about what this product could bring back?
In just a while, Wang Xiansen sent many pictures from the front. The smoky streets could smell the fragrance from the photos. I could only worry in front of my mobile phone screen. Can't I bring a few things back to eat first?
Of course, in the end, we ate too quickly and didn't capture the delicious snacks!

Day2 leisurely Gulangyu

In the morning on Gulangyu Island, tourists were rarely seen on the road. After finding a small shop and having a beautiful breakfast, they began to stroll aimlessly. When I first came here five years ago, I was still holding a map to search for the attractions marked on it. Now, I just want to shuttle through these alleys that are not yet crowded with tourists and see these red brick villas under the green trees.
If you are new to Gulangyu and want to visit the attractions on the island, you are recommended to purchase a joint ticket in advance. The attractions included include: Sunguang Rock, Shuzhuang Garden, Haoyue Garden, International Lettering Art Museum, and Organ Museum. Among these five attractions, I personally think the only one worth visiting is Sunlight Rock, and the other four are quite boring. The price of a separate ticket for Sunlight Rock is 60 yuan. You can see the panoramic view of Gulangyu Island and the opposite Kinmen Island. It is recommended to come in the evening to watch the sunset. Of course, you should also be prepared to be crowded among the tourists because the observation deck is small.

Five years ago, I stayed in Gulangyu for three days and walked through almost every alley here. Now that I walk again, I actually feel a little strange. There is no noise like people crowded with people, only the crisp chirping of birds and the mottled tree shadows along the way. The quiet atmosphere in the morning makes this place particularly beautiful.

Day3 Huandao Road, Zengcuo 'an, not in the bookstore

I have been worried about the weather, but when I got up and saw the sun, I felt in a good mood. The weather forecast made me worry about the night in vain.
[Huandao Road] The coastal road, with a total length of more than 30 kilometers, is also the main track of the Xiamen International Marathon and is internationally praised as the most beautiful marathon track in the world. The greening between the roads is inlaid with the music score "Waves of Gulangyu", there is a marathon statue on the roadside, and the red road along the roadside is restricted to pedestrians. Riding a bicycle around the island road, listening to the waves, and gently blowing the sea breeze is also a kind of enjoyment.

There are special bicycle lanes on Huandao Road. Because we got up early, no tourists were seen riding on the road.

The place where we live is two stops away from Zengcuo 'an. I don't think it's a long way to take photos. Zengcuo 'an used to be a small fishing village. Later, the rise of some hotels and Xiaoqing new shops made it lively. I remember when I came here five years ago, the housekeeper of the hotel came to pick me up by the roadside on a bicycle. The road along the road was rather sluggish. There were only some newly built hotels, and it was difficult to find a decent hotel. Now that I come back, this place is no longer what I remember. It is as lively as Gulangyu Island. It is also the second largest and small fresh holy place in Xiamen except Gulangyu Island.

I can take this opportunity to go and sit there again when I return to Xiamen. I originally planned to take a taxi directly to the bookstore at the entrance of Xiamen University. Day4 Bell Drum Cable Car, Railway Park, Xiamen University

I was flattered by the good weather for three consecutive days, and it was still the same on the day I left Xiamen. Of course, even on the last day, our itinerary was still rich.

The hotels and small shops in this area are decorated with various petty bourgeoisie. It should not be possible to tell that this Youjian Coast is actually a breakfast shop.

Many friends who have been to Xiamen may not know about the Bell and Drum Cableway, including me who only learned about it after reading a travel note before setting out this time. The cable car is located next to Wanshi Botanical Garden, with 82 cabins, which avoids the trouble of queuing for a long time. It is condescending and can not only overlook the beautiful scenery of the Botanical Garden, but also enjoy the panoramic view of Xiamen.
Tickets for the cableway are all round-trip tickets, 50 yuan each, 20 minutes one way. They start from the Botanical Garden and end at Nanputuo. There was originally one stop in between, but now it no longer stops. If you don't want to go to Nanputuo, you can return directly back to the Botanical Garden without getting off the bus. Of course, you can also go to Nanputuo for a tour and then come back to take the cable car. There is a good observation deck on the top of Nanputuo.

The cable car shuttles over the city, giving a panoramic view of the jungle, roads, buildings and the distant sea. If the weather is clear, you can also overlook Taiwan's Santan, Sitan and Wudan Islands.

I have always liked riding the cable car, and I was very excited all the way, while Wang Xiansen shrank to the side and did not dare to move, for fear that something would happen to the cable car. Sometimes a few gusts of wind blowing would scare him to turn blue. "The horror of the roller coaster is only for a moment, but the cable car is a long suffering." Wang Xiansen, who had been silent for a long time, finally jumped out.

When I returned from the cable car, I stumbled across a railway cultural park next to it. No tickets were needed. This is an old railway that has been abandoned for many years. Although it has been forgotten by people, it also retains the original memory of Xiamen's transportation development to some extent. The Railway Park is 4.5 kilometers long and is divided into four areas according to its cultural structure. From north to south, it is divided into the Railway Cultural Area (Wenzeng Road to Wanshou Road Section), the People's Living Area (Wanshou Road to Huyuan Section), and the Customs Experience Area (Huyuan Road to Siming South Road Section) and the Urban Leisure Area (Siming South Road to Heping Pier Section). It takes at least one hour to complete. Our location belongs to the people's livelihood area, and you can see many sculptures full of historical and humanistic flavor along the way.

I went to the famous "Little Glasses Stall" for lunch. I remember that a few years ago, there was only one small Glasses in Xiamen. The environment was poor. The disposable tablecloth was used, but it was very popular because of its high quality and low price. Nowadays, a small glasses chain has been opened in Xiamen. There is one next to the Botanical Garden. The environment is comfortable, the price is much more expensive than before, and the taste is not as amazing as the original ones.
I ordered a plate of sea melon seeds for only 20 yuan, but it came like this! The waiter said that this is what the sea melon seeds in Xiamen are like. The sea melon seeds I have eaten can pile into a mountain. Don't lie to me! Later, several friends in Xiamen told me that they called them sea melon seeds!

The only thing that remains unchanged is probably this plate of Indian flying cakes, which is as delicious as ever. When we paid the bill, we even got an invoice of 100 yuan in cash during the RP explosion!

The Furong Tunnel is located inside Xiamen University, next to Furong Restaurant. It is the most literary tunnel in China and the longest graffiti tunnel in China. The Furong Tunnel is 1.1 kilometers long and is mainly used for pedestrians and non-motor vehicles. The graffiti now known as the landscape is said to be a beautiful mistake.
