Yes, on the scale of Fujian Province, Xiamen is at most a peninsula, but if you zoom in on the map to Xiamen City, you will see clearly: the main body of Xiamen is an island called "Xiamen Island", which is only connected to the mainland through a few bridges. In addition to the main island, Xiamen also includes Haicang Peninsula on the west bank, Jimei Peninsula on the north bank, Xiang 'an Peninsula on the east bank, Datian Island, Xiaodeng Island, inland Tong' an, Jiulong River and other places, as well as the famous outlying island-Gulangyu Island.
(Map of Xiamen, from the Internet)
Gulangyu in the picture above is too small. It belongs to a "street" in terms of administrative divisions. It is governed by Siming District of Xiamen City. It covers an area of 1.83 square kilometers and has a circumference of only 5 kilometers. Athletes can circle the island in 20 minutes, and 40 minutes is enough for ordinary people to jog. Such a small island is densely covered with architectural attractions and famous landscapes. It may not be possible to complete it even if it takes a full day from morning to night.
(Map of Gulangyu Island, from the Internet)
The Qingdao where I live is also called "Qindao" because when viewed from the sky, Qingdao is shaped like a guqin. Gulangyu Island is also called "Qin Island". It has nothing to do with its shape, but that there are more than a hundred musical families on the island, which have cultivated a large number of outstanding musicians such as Zhou Shu 'an, Lin Junqing, Yin Chengzong, Chen Zuohuang, and Xu Feiping. It is a veritable "Music Island". Moreover, Gulangyu's per capita piano ownership rate ranks first in the country. The piano museum on the island is rare and famous in China, so it is also called the "Piano Island."
All of my friends who follow me know that I am also a piano enthusiast and publish one or two immature pieces from time to time. Therefore, the first stop on my trip to Xiamen is undoubtedly Gulangyu.
(A street corner in Gulangyu)
In the early morning, he tasted a bowl of spicy and fragrant Shacha noodles and took a boat to Gulangyu.
The sea between Xiamen Island and Gulangyu Island is called "Lujiang" because egrets are common to fly gracefully here. The group looked at the scenery on both sides of the Lujiang River on the boat. The bridges, the sea and the buildings were so elegant. They were in a very happy mood to swim between the blue sea and blue sky, but unexpectedly a small episode occurred...
The hotel where I stayed the night before had a cooperation with the travel agency, and the next morning could be picked up and picked up to the dock for free. The ticket was cheaper than the ticket window, and the accommodation was not expensive. In addition, there was no need to worry about transportation, so I decisively contacted the travel agency. I thought it might be because there were too few tourists under the epidemic, and travel agencies used preferential and convenient methods to attract tourists. The bus came to pick up the next day, and the two tour guides on the road were very enthusiastic and introduced must-see activities on Gulangyu. However, as an old tourist driver, I knew the clue as soon as I heard it. When I got off the bus later, I would definitely ask tourists to sign up for a group to follow them.
In fact, I also have such preparations. If the route can cover several attractions I plan to visit, it's okay to spend some money to sign up for a group. After all, people provide discounts and convenience. Sure enough, when we were about to arrive at the station, the tour guide issued a card to everyone on the bus, indicating the attractions and prices. When I saw it, I couldn't help but feel angry-there were no attractions I wanted to see, and some of them were all expensive exhibition halls, which are completely contrary to regular tourist routes. At this point, the travel agency's routine has been clearly revealed: first, they use low prices to trick you into getting on the bus, and then they use a meal to avoid the important issues and sell them in a lavish manner (a few important free attractions have been covered, and a small number of paid attractions have been blown up). Tourists who have not made strategies in advance and are not clear about where to go can easily compromise under the strong words of the tour guide. If they follow them and spend more money, their day will be wasted. They won't go to several piano halls, and they will miss the sunset at Riguangyan.
There were about five or six groups of people in the same car. After getting off the bus, they all signed up for the group, leaving me alone. They insisted: "According to the hotel announcement, give me the ticket and I will go and transfer it myself!" At this time, two tour guides, one wearing glasses and the other wearing heavy makeup, looked at each other. The woman with heavy makeup said,"Leave it to me!" It seems that he has dealt with similar situations before, and he looks confident that he can take me down. I didn't change my mind, but I laughed in my heart: "Girl, you have no idea what you are facing..."
The heavily makeup female toe walked up to me proudly and planned to perform the speech in the car again. I took a look at her ridiculous red hair dye, uneven nail dye and pale and thick makeup powder. The thick foundation couldn't cover her greedy face, and the rich makeup couldn't hide her ungrateful eyes. I paused and interrupted her chatter, saying something about "integrity management, fraud warning, contract spirit, evidence retention, consumer protection..." Her passionate words bombarded each other like a barrage of cannons. She wanted to interrupt her several times, but she didn't have the opportunity! Until later, she completely gave up her fragile strength and went to the hall angrily and reluctantly to pick up my ticket...
Compare me to talk endlessly and use the time you spend applying powder to read more books first!
To say that this travel agency was well prepared for scams."Hard soak" did not work, so it used another trick of "soft grinding". Seeing that the girl with heavy makeup failed to sing the "black face", the girl with glasses sang "white face" with me "--he said" reason "humbly and gently, and said," The boss has set the target... It's so cheap, the cost of the car and ship is not enough...", Trying to exchange my sympathy. Regardless of what the other party expresses, if you have a good attitude, I will calmly reason with you: If you lose costs, why don't you state the matters of reporting to the group on the public notice in advance? You want to attract people and steal customers. Isn't this calculation too elaborate...
In short, I finally got the ticket smoothly and parted ways with the unscrupulous tour guide. If I was a little unhappy, it would pass quickly...
A few minutes later, we arrived at Sanqiutian Wharf on Gulangyu Island, and the journey to Qindao began.
Sanqiutian Wharf is one of the few relics of Gulangyu's early docks. It was a main dock for residents in Cuoao area of Gulangyu to and from Xiamen at that time. It is said that in the early Ming Dynasty, the residents of this area reclaimed the Sanqiu paddy field, hence the name "Sanqiu Tian". Shortly after Xiamen opened its port, most of the navigation routes between Gulangyu and Xiamen Island were located in the Sanqiutian area, and various island-based institutions such as foreign banks, diplomacy, medical care, and finance also gathered here. At that time, many foreign companies and institutions built similar exclusive docks, and the scene of concentrated docks gradually formed along the coast, which became a unique portrayal of life on the outlying islands of Gulangyu's historical international community.
Walking dozens of meters southwest out of the dock to reach the Organ Art Center,"Qindao" can't wait to show its charm.
The pipe organ may be unfamiliar to most friends, but there is a movie-"Interstellar"-that you should all have seen, and its soundtrack is also regarded as a divine work and is played by the pipe organ.
The pipe organ is a large-scale keyboard instrument with a long history in Europe. It has a loud volume, majestic momentum and solemn tone. It is often used to play hymns in churches. Because it is so large, often as big as a house, it is rare in other places except European churches. Gulangyu, the organ art center, is a rare organ exhibition hall in China.
As soon as I entered the exhibition hall, a sacred and solemn atmosphere came to my face, as if I were walking into a church. In front of the neat seats, the Gothic "building" as tall as a castle was the organ.
How can you play such a big guy?
In fact, the "castle" is the sound emitting device of the organ, which is equivalent to the bellows of an accordion or the soundboard of a piano. Those silver pipes that are arranged in rows or clusters are called sound pipes, and the sound comes from the sound pipes. The large size brings high volume and good mixing effect. After all, in ancient times where there were no speakers, when there were many Christians singing hymns, the accompanying instruments would not be audible if they did not have high volume. The small stage below the huge sounding device is the performance platform for the performer to play.
(The sound tube of the altar organ)
From a distance, it's about the size of a piano, but from a close look, it's shocking: four-layer keyboard! There are also densely packed buttons outside the keyboard! No, this is not a musical instrument, this is the motherfucking console of a spacecraft!
Looking down, I was surprised again: Why is there a row of keyboards underneath? The piano is already difficult enough. There are only three pedals under my feet, but there is actually a row of "pedals" under the organ. Does the performer have to practice his feet until they are as flexible as his fingers?
A player who can play with such a complex "monster" should also be a "monster". The famous conductor Karajan once said: "A concert hall without an organ is a football field." It can be seen that its powerful power is in fact, a good organ player can play the effect of an orchestra with one person and one piano. It is easy to find pipe organ performance videos on the Internet. You can search and take a look.
The organ above is the Boston-Emmanuel Casavant Opus 700 organ. The performance table includes 4 layers of manual keyboards, 140 pegs and 1 layer of foot keyboards. Later, REA electronic system technology was added to record the performer's performance and then realize automatic performance. The performance stage can also move flexibly, allowing the audience to view the detailed movements of the performer's hands and feet from multiple angles and enjoy a multi-dimensional audio-visual experience.
The "Gothic Castle" you see when you enter the door is called the gallery organ. The body is decorated with gorgeous, beautiful and lifelike musical angels. Vivid exquisite oak carvings such as flowers, birds and fruits are scattered all over the body, exuding a charming atmosphere of classical, romantic and elegant.
In addition to pipe organs, the art center also displays photos of famous European pipe organs, European oil paintings, artist records and other works, allowing people to be influenced by elegant art.
To learn more about pipe organs, you can't miss the Organ Museum on the south side of the Organ Art Center.
The Organ Museum is located in Bagua Building, Gulangyu Island. It was established at the end of 2004. It is the only museum in China that specializes in displaying ancient organs. The exhibits include pipe organs, reed organs, accordions, oral organs, etc. from Britain, Germany, the United States, Australia and other countries. There are also rare collections of cinema pipe organs, electric organs and other collections that will be exhibited one after another. The organ in the museum has been donated by Mr. Hu Youyi, a Chinese living in Macao. He once said: "I will do my best to build the Gulangyu Organ Museum into the largest and most excellent organ museum in the world."
A pipe organ is an instrument that makes sound by playing the keys on a keyboard and passing compressed air through the corresponding pipes. Generally, a pipe organ has several groups of pipes, each emitting a single pitch, and each group has a similar timbre and volume. The origin of the pipe organ can be traced back to the ancient Greek hydraulic organ in the 3rd century BC, which used water pressure to supply airflow. By the 6th century AD, bellows were used to supply airflow. In the 17th century, basically all sounds that could be produced on classical organs were improved, and pipe organs became the most complex man-made device at the time.
(Internal structure of organ)
At present, the museum has 70 exhibits. Below are a few to share with you.
The pipe organ in the picture below is called "Norman. Bill "was produced in the UK in 1909, is 6 meters tall, consists of 1350 sound pipes, has a three-layer keyboard and 32 sound pegs, and was the peak of the world's organ manufacturing industry in the early 20th century. What is rare is that it still has a well-preserved hand-sowing bellows system. It is one of the rare treasures in the world that can blow air both electrically and manually.
The picture below shows Dean's Street Organ. It was built in the UK in 1955. At that time, electricity was already widely used. This is an electric automatic organ. It consists of wooden sound pipes, castanets and drum surfaces. It is like a small band. As long as electricity is turned on and the piano score is put on, it can play automatically. Its music is cheerful and loud, making it easy to attract passers-by outdoors. It usually appears in amusement parks, squares, markets and other lively places. The score at the back of the piano can be replaced, making it convenient and flexible.
They are also keyboard instruments, what is the difference between a piano and a pipe organ?
First of all, the organ has a history of more than 2,300 years, while modern pianos only have a history of more than 300 years; secondly, the pronunciation principle is different. The organ belongs to an air-sounding instrument, and the piano belongs to a string-striking instrument; thirdly, the organ pedals have blowing or pronunciation effects, while the piano pedals only have a delaying or silencing effect; secondly, the organ has multiple keyboards, including a pedal keyboard, and the piano has only one keyboard; Finally, there are no unified specifications and standards for organ keyboards, while the piano keyboard is fixed, with 88 keys. Even the electric piano has not many keys, but many keys.
The diversity of keyboards leads to the diversity of organ shapes and even functions. The large ones can exceed houses, and the small ones can be stuffed into suitcases. For example, the folding box type small organ below is a favorite of street performers. It has only 39 keys and the external frame is only the size of a suitcase when folded up, but although the sparrow is small, it has all the five organs. It is a portable treasure of many street performers and even missionaries in Europe.
There are also organs made in the shapes of dressers, cabinets, etc., and even equipped with mirrors. When playing, it is an instrument, but when not playing, it really serves as specific furniture. For example, the row of gmelons below looks like a large wardrobe. However, it is not used to store clothes or play hymns. Instead, it is used to imitate the bell bell tower of the church. It is equipped with amplifying and delaying equipment to allow surrounding residents to hear the bell. It is generally used in chapels.
There are also many famous European paintings hanging on the walls of the Organ Museum, most of which are related to music and full of a strong Europa romantic atmosphere.
To say that this "music island" is really not a name for itself. Passing through the tunnel Dragon Cave and climbing up the hill Bijia Mountain, an elegant villa is presented in front of you. The villa is beautifully arranged, and the piano and gramophone are particularly eye-catching.
This building is the former site of the HSBC Mansion. In the twelfth year of Tongzhi of the Qing Dynasty (1837), the British "Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation" opened a branch in Xiamen, becoming the earliest modern bank in Xiamen. This mansion was built in 1876. It was originally a leisure residence for Yingshang Yiji Foreign Company, and later became a high-end residence for HSBC.
The building is located on a granite foundation and is a single-layer brick-wood structure. There are arc-shaped red-brick exterior corridors at the front and back. The building plan adopts a special clover shape, reflecting the people of Queen Victoria's taste for colorful shapes.
After going out, climb up the stairs to the highest point of Bijia Mountain. This is another commanding height of Gulangyu Island outside Riguang Rock. You can overlook the sea view of Xiamen Island and the Lujiang River on the other side.
After going down the mountain, wander among the historical buildings and flowery walls and stone streets from the beginning of the last century. There is a celebrity's former residence in two steps, and a Kat villa in three steps. The romantic atmosphere follows closely.
There are also some sites that leave traces of history. For example, the site of the Ministry of Industry Bureau was originally a public land management institution authorized by the Qing government in 1903. It is a colonial verand-style building. Now its main body has collapsed, leaving only the stone door pillars and part of the remains of the entrance. Wall.
Continuing south, we come to the Longtou Road area, which is the Gulangyu Historical and Commercial District and the area with the most popular flavor of urban life on the island. The area includes Longtou Road and Fuzhou Road. Longtou Road has been a commercial district since the 1920s and was built with huge investment by overseas Chinese. This street is densely packed, and the streets are mainly small two-story commercial buildings or arcade buildings. It is colorful and bustling.
In one of the alleys, there is the "Centenary Gulangyu" exhibition hall, which allows you to understand the ins and outs of the island's style.
Gulangyu was isolated on the West Sea of Xiamen. It was called "Yuanzizhou" during the Song and Yuan Dynasties. It had always been a quiet island in history. Until 1902, the Qing government was forced to sign the "Xiamen Gulangyu Public Boundary Charter" with Japan, the United States, Germany and other countries. Gulangyu was divided up by foreign powers and became a public territory. Thirteen countries including Britain, the United States, Germany, and Japan successively established consulates on the island, and established consular corps, industry bureaus and joint trial courts. This is a shameful memory that cannot be erased. On the other hand, it has also created the prosperity and legend of Gulangyu. Today, the island still retains a scenery full of time, which makes people reminisce and relive...
(Catholic Church established by missionaries after the opening of Xiamen)
The picture below shows the Concord Chapel built by foreign missionaries. After the Opium War, missionaries went to Xiamen to carry out missionary activities. Due to the small population on Gulangyu Island, no church has been officially established. In 1863, the "Three Councils" jointly established by the Reformed Church in the United States, the London Mission, and the British Presbyterian Church created this church to provide a place of worship for foreign Christians working in the area. The church has four Romantas dry columns that support large triangular mountain flowers. It is a Western classical Revival building.
Along the way, there are also villas built by overseas Chinese such as Haitiantangou, Xujiayuan, and Huangrong Yuantang. They are all unique creations that combine Chinese and Western cultures, exquisite and spectacular.
Headed east on the path of green trees, bluestone, yellow walls and red bricks, and soon arrived at the seaside.
Looking across the sea, the Xiamen Twin Towers (Shimao Strait Building) are like brothers holding their heads high and setting sail.
Just as I was leaning on the railing and looking into the distance, I suddenly saw a general in a helmet and armor staring at the cape ahead. The cape is the famous Jingyue Garden on Gulangyu Island, and the general is the famous Zheng Chenggong. Let's go to Haoyue Garden next.
The Haoyue Garden is surrounded by mountains and seas. It is a sculpture park built to commemorate the national hero Zheng Chenggong. The name of the park comes from a poem in "The Collection of the Two Kings of Yanping":"I can't sleep when I miss you, and the bright moon shines through the plain curtain." The two kings of Yanping are King Zheng Chenggong and his son King Wen Zheng Jing. The poem expresses the memory of the hero. In the garden, there are Zheng Chenggong's giant stone carvings, Zheng Chenggong's bronze group carvings, Zheng Chenggong's stele corridor, ancient well covering the tripod, and the Emperor's Hall, collectively known as the "Bright Moon Xiongfeng".
The stone carving of Zheng Chenggong stands on the Fuding Rock and is 15.7 meters high. It is carved from 625 pieces of high-quality Quanzhou white granite. It is currently the largest stone statue of a historical figure in my country. Standing on the beach of Xiamen Island, you can also see this sculpture. Whether you look from the front or back, it attracts the attention of thousands of tourists with its deep inner ideological realm and majestic shape.
Looking down at Fuding Rock, you can see a small pavilion connected by winding stone corridors. This is the Emperor's Hall. It is said that before Zheng Chenggong sent his troops to the Eastern Expedition in 1661, he took an oath at the sea here, ordering "to dismantle the military stove and lift the pots and tripods in the sea" to show his determination to burn his boat. He also threw his sword on the beach and stamped it with a heavy jade seal on the seabed, vowing to be with the people of Xiamen. Later, the military pot turned into a tripod rock, the sword turned into a sword stone, the jade seal turned into a seal stone, and the oath place was also honored as the "Emperor's Hall" by later generations. Although Zheng Chenggong never claimed himself as emperor, his highest official title was only "Yanping Prince".
In addition to the majestic scenery of the sea, the lush vegetation in the garden, the exquisite houses, and the beauty of a fairy tale that makes people feel relaxed and relaxed.
You can reach Yuyuan by heading west from Haoyue Garden. This is a garden commemorating Dr. Lin Qiaozhi, the pioneer of obstetrics and gynecology in my country. The "Island of Music" does not only produce artistic talents, but the deeds of medical worker Dr. Lin Qiaozhi are more touching than art.
Lin Qiaozhi (1901-1983) was one of the founders of obstetrics and gynecology in my country. She was the first Chinese director of obstetrics and gynecology at Peking Union Medical College Hospital and the only female member of the first Chinese Academy of Sciences. She was unmarried all her life, but she personally delivered more than 50,000 babies. She was honored as the "Mother of Ten Thousand Infants" and the "Angel of Life". In 1988, Dr. Lin Qiaozhi's ashes were transported back from Beijing to his hometown of Gulangyu and buried in Yuyuan.
The "Yu" of Yuyuan means the meaning of cultivation and nurturing. The architectural layout in the park is natural, the landscape is simple and plain, the rocks and old banyan trees are undecorated, and the pine, bamboo, and orchid osmanthus each contain their own connotations. It can be said that "the garden is like its people." The lifelike white marble sculptures in the garden reproduce the mother-like demeanor of Dr. Lin Qiaozhi.
Having paid homage to the great man, we continued our journey.
(The fallen banyan tree)
The article "Tulou" mentions that there are many banyan trees in Fujian, and Gulangyu is no exception. There are even many banyan trees on the island. Creative people have made some of them installation art, such as the following "Gulang Remains Sound", which is a banyan tree that has been planted for more than 200 years after being hit by a typhoon. Although the ancient tree lost its life, it will not rot, building your and my memories in another way.
Not long after I moved forward, a shout of sports attracted my attention. It turned out that a football match was going on in the stadium, and most of the middle-aged people were middle-aged. If it weren't for the love, no one would still sweat and play football at an old age. There are also sculptures of children playing football outside the field. Only after checking the Internet did I know that Gulangyu Island is also one of the birthplaces of modern Chinese football. 120 years ago, British missionaries founded Yinghua Academy on Gulangyu Island and brought football to Xiamen. Since then, modern Chinese football has gradually originated from this small island.
With music and football, Gulangyu really blooms both style and style.
Next door to the stadium is Shuzhuang Garden, another scenic spot in Gulangyu, where the Gulangyu Piano Museum is located.
(Bushan Garden)
Shuzhuang Garden was originally a private garden owned by Lin Erjia, a wealthy Taiwanese gentry. It was built in 1913 and was later expanded. Shuzhuang Garden includes two groups of scenic spots: "Tibetan Sea" and "Bushan", and each creates five scenic spots in the traditional "titled landscape" method of Chinese gardens. "Tibetan Sea" implies the intention of embracing the mountains and rivers of the motherland and never letting them be slaughtered by others;"replenishing mountains" artificially repairs the shortcomings of natural scenery, implying that the mountains and rivers are broken and in urgent need of repair.
Shuzhuang Garden is a unique coastal literati garden. It inherits traditional Chinese gardening techniques to express literati feelings. It also integrates modern architectural styles and Western gardening styles, and has made high achievements in gardening art. It also reflects the longing of a group of Taiwanese gentlemen who moved to Xiamen, represented by Lin Erjia, for their hometown."The rain listened to last night's bustle, and the moon watched today's hometown." They have both the qualities of traditional culture and openness to foreign cultures. The idea of tolerance, and resentment over the loss of their homeland, are determined to realize their ideal of serving the country by actively participating in politics, setting up industries, and promoting education.
The 44th Bridge in the picture below is the main scenery in the garden. It is named after the owner was 44 years old when he built the bridge. There is a gate under the bridge that introduces seawater into the park, forming the sea, the outer pool and the inner pool, as if hiding the sea.
The picture below shows the twelve caves, also known as the "Monkey Cave". They are rockery made of multicolored sandstone, rock, conglomerate, etc. They are divided into 12 caves, numbered by 12 underground branches.
The Piano Museum is located on the hill on the south side of the garden. It was completed in 2000. The museum displays more than 40 clavichords collected by patriotic overseas Chinese Hu Youyi. Among them are rare and precious gold-plated pianos, the world's earliest four-corner piano and the earliest and largest upright piano., ancient cranked pianos, pedaled automatic playing pianos and eight-pedal clavichords dating from a hundred years ago... It was amazing after the visit, but I didn't expect the piano to look like this!
Vertical piano string frame made in France in the mid-19th century:
The piano in the picture below is called "Bossendorf". It was made in Vienna, Austria in 1857. It was the most famous piano maker at that time, Bossendorf and his student was the Austro-Hungarian Emperor, Francis. Joseph's yacht carefully built an art piano. The exquisite artistic design and production craftsmanship on the piano body are very rare and can be called a rare treasure.
The picture below shows Steinway in 1888. The character in the oil painting directly in front is the pianist Padlevski who served as Prime Minister of Poland. He used this "Steinway" when giving a concert in Australia in the early 20th century.
The picture below shows the "Coled" made in London, England in the first half of the 19th century, also known as the "Acacia Piano". The red birds and egrets inlaid in the body express the owner's strong homesickness complex. Its production process is pure hand-inlaid Australian primary color fine wood.
The picture below shows Clegg made in Australia in 1977. It is a harpsichord, also known as the harpsichord or plucked harpsichord. The clavichord is generally divided into two categories: the struck clavichord and the plucked clavichord. The harpsichord is sensitive and inexpensive. It is often used in churches and schools. The harpsichord is expensive and is mostly used by royalty and aristocrats. The harpsichord was popular in Europe for some time, but after the birth of the piano in 1700, it gradually declined.
I don't see the name of the following one, but when I saw it, I thought of the wrong puppy curled up in the corner at a loss. Let's call it "Poor Baba" Qin.
The Piano Museum also has exquisite European oil paintings, portraits of musicians, and chamber music scenes.
When Shuzhuang Garden came out, the sun was setting on the west mountains. The last stop of the Gulangyu tour allowed us to climb the Riguang Rock and watch the sunset enter the sea.
Riguang Rock is located not far from the north side of Shuzhuang Garden. It is also known as "Longtou Mountain". It is the highest peak on Gulangyu Island. At its top, a huge stone with a diameter of more than 40 meters stands tall in the sky. It is natural and is a symbol of Xiamen. Climb to the top and overlook the scenery of Xiamen and Drum.
(Riguang Rock Top)
(Overlooking the scenery of Xiamen and Drum, a friend said that it is similar to Qingdao's red tiles, green trees, blue sea and blue skies)
When national hero Zheng Chenggong recovered Taiwan, he stationed troops in Riguang Rock. There are still ancient relics such as Shuicaotai and Longtou Shanzhai Gate, and there are many inscriptions on cliffs on the mountain over the past dynasties. At the foot of the mountain, there is also the Riguang Rock Temple, built in the Ming Dynasty. It has a wide range of believers and is famous. Master Hong Yi once closed up here to copy scriptures for the eighth month. In addition, there are scenic spots such as the Hero Garden in the Qinyuan, Yin Chengzong's Music and Life Exhibition Room, and Zheng Chenggong Memorial Hall. The scenery is rich. There is a local saying that "if you don't climb Riguang Rock, you won't count Xiamen."
The picture below shows part of the landscape of Riguang Rock Temple, cliff stone carvings and Yanping cultural relics. The word "Yanping" has appeared several times above. It is a proxy for Zheng Chenggong-in 1649, Zheng Chenggong was canonized as King Yanping by Emperor Yongli of the Southern Ming Dynasty. Yanping cultural relics are historical relics related to Zheng Chenggong. Among them, the Longtou Shanzhai ruins were the village gate where Zheng Chenggong stationed troops.
There are 65 cliff stone carvings in the park, including Zheng Chenggong, Cai Yuanpei, Lin Erjia, and Cai Tingkai. The big characters such as "Tianfeng and Haitao","Gulang Dongtian" and "Lujiang No. 1" are powerful and magnificent, recording the love and feelings of historical celebrities for Gulangyu.
The picture below shows the "Sun Sky Book" displayed in the Riguangyan Cultural Creation Museum, which transcribes all the cliff stone carvings in Riguangyan.
There is an eye-catching installation on the mountain platform. It is called "Wings of Light". It was completed not long ago. In order to express respect for the angels in white who fought on the front line of the fight against the epidemic during the epidemic, the ring represents the medical staff's protection of the people. The wings composed of 200 "feathers" represent the spirit of the angels in white flying against the wind.
It was already 5:30 in the afternoon when we reached the summit. Near the sunset in Xiamen at the end of January, the bright blue sky had been dyed with a touch of warm yellow, and the blue sea had been covered with a layer of golden light.
The "Garden on the Sea" is even more gentle and charming, and the "Architecture of All Countries" has a myriad of customs. It is really the sunset that is infinitely beautiful, and the sunset is intoxicating.
Riguang Rock is closed at night, and at this moment, the security guard has come up to chase people away. In addition to me, there is also a couple with children watching the sunset on the rock top. The security guard shouted a few words and we moved slowly. Later, the security guard stopped urging him. Maybe he was also fascinated by the beautiful sunset, or he was used to watching the sunset and was willing to make it happen, even if he delayed his work time...
Sunset on the West Mountain, night cage on the island, but the scenery of Gulangyu is endless. There are dotted with buildings, winding streets, the faint music of deep alleys, and dense flowers and plants... Each step and one scene are full of beauty. How can we finish our words and tell our stories...
(Colored buildings and street corners)
There are also innocent cats and elegant egrets, as well as dusty and story-filled street singers, which outline the romantic staff of the music island.
I returned to Sanqiutian Wharf at night. The lights of Xiamen on the other bank were swaying. There were many beautiful scenery in the bright night that was not finished. We will continue to explore in the future...
