As a native of Xiamen, people often ask me whether Xiamen is fun or not? How to play? How to balance classic check-in while avoiding the crowded tourists? 100 people may have 100 ways to play, and 100 people may have 101 ways to eat. In fact, there is no best or worst. If you have time, I still suggest putting aside those so-called Internet celebrities and going deep into the streets and alleys of Ludao., to experience the lives of local people.
Summer vacation is the peak season for tourism in Xiamen. When visiting Xiamen, you will always have to watch the sea and check in on Internet celebrity check-in spots such as Gulangyu, Zengcuo 'an, and Shapowei. This guide takes you to explore the differences between local people outside the regular check-in spots. Play, arrange a different trip for three to five days!
The chatter written in front
1. Regarding transportation: Xiamen has an airport, which is located in the urban area and has convenient transportation. It is probably the nearest airport to the Urban area in the country. There are BRT, public transportation, airport bus and other connections. There are two mobile stations, Xiamen Station and Xiamen North Railway Station. Xiamen Station is located on the island, and the North Railway Station is located off the island. However, the North Railway Station has BRT/subway connections, and it only takes about half an hour to enter the island. Xiamen itself is not large in area and has developed public transportation inside and outside the island. The starting price of public transportation is 1 yuan/person and the starting price of subway is 2 yuan/person, both of which can support online payment. Self-driving is not recommended near the scenic spot, and there are fewer parking spaces.
2. About the weather: Xiamen is located by the sea, and typhoons may strike from June to September every year. It is recommended to pay attention to the weather forecast in advance. The weather is hot, and the best tourist season is personally between October and December. Take sun protection measures when summer comes.
3. About Gulangyu Island: Many people's first obsession when coming to Xiamen is to go to Gulangyu Island. However, if you don't have enough time and only arrange a day or even half a day to rush in, it is recommended not to go. Gulangyu is a place where you need to travel slowly. You can feel its essence by staying for one to two nights and slowly walking down the alleys to taste the old buildings. If you want to visit the island, you need to book a ferry ticket on the official website first.
4. About hotels: Xiamen has settled in many high-star brand hotels in the past two years, and there are also many established hotels and B & Bs on the island to choose from. However, individuals will prefer newly built resort-style hotels in the East Sea Area outside the island, which are more comfortable, more comfortable and cost-effective. For example, the Renaissance Hotel located on the Binhai Romance Line is a good choice.

Eight cities, do you think only the markets are worth visiting? Don't miss the treasure alley next to you
For tourism in Xiamen, the eight cities have now become a place for Internet celebrities to check in. This was originally a place where local people bought vegetables and seafood every day. It is popular among tourists because of its down-to-earth atmosphere and the hidden variety of authentic snacks.
There are many entrances to the eight cities. It is recommended to enter from the entrance next to the BRT at Kaihe Crossing, then follow the flow of people across the eight cities, then exit from the intersection of Kaiyuan Road and turn onto Dayuan Road.
Most churches are in quiet places, but have you thought that in such a noisy market, there is a century-old Christian church hidden? Entering from this side of Kaihe Crossing, about 10 meters, you can see-Christian Bamboo Tree Hall. It was built in 1849 and was completed the following year and officially opened for worship. It has a history of 170 years. Earlier than the opening time of the eight markets. Zhushutang is also a church with a long history in China. The existing building is the third church. It was renovated in 1935 and its architectural style is close to Gothic. The structure of the church is a compromise on advanced Western structural materials and melted into the southern Fujian architectural style: its roof structure does not use the pointed arch buttress technology of traditional Western churches, but uses wooden triangular dysprosium. In the narrow streets of Bashi, you need to look up to see her true colors.
No matter what time, the eight cities are always crowded with people. Although there have been more tourists over the years, this is still the favorite seafood warehouse of locals. This vegetable market located near the first ferry terminal has always been a seafood warehouse for Xiamen people. If you want to eat seafood, you will definitely come here to buy them, and they are the freshest. If you catch them as soon as possible, you will be placed on the ground directly. The freshly fished fish are immediately sent here. Whether it is big fish caught by large fishing boats or small fish and shrimp caught by small fishermen's own small sampans, in short, here, as long as the season is right, you can find whatever seafood you want to eat here. Everything from king crab lobsters to small fish and shrimp.
I want to eat snacks when I'm greedy. You can find ancient orange cakes, fish skin peanuts, persimmon cakes, tribute sugar, and candied fruits here. 2-3 A big bag of yuan, happily buying it home to make tea, this is life.
There are also many delicacies hidden in the eight cities, including Ajie Five-spice, Zhu Ji hand-shredded chicken, Zhong Lijun's full fried cake, etc. Although there are no amazing dishes, they are the favorite snacks of Xiamen people. After shopping, buy some food and go home, and it will be a sumptuous lunch and dinner. Moreover, most of these old shops are at least 20 to 30 years old. With the spread of the Internet over the years, more and more tourists have come to eat. But fortunately, most of these stores still maintain their original standards.
Zhu Ji Hand-shredded chicken should be the first hand-shredded chicken shop in Xiamen. The owner of the shop learned skills in Shanghai and brought the real Shanghai flavor intact to Xiamen more than 10 years ago. The skin tastes great, and the meat is not too old. Coupled with the store's special seasonings, it satisfies your cravings and is so powerful that you can't stop eating it. In addition to winning the recognition and appreciation of customers, it has also formed a certain reputation and credibility in Xiamen. There are stable customers every day, and a steady stream of new customers and tourists come to taste it. It is a very popular store. Weigh the hand-shredded chicken and tear it right away. Buy half of it and take it home or use it as a wine dish at the hotel. It's a great match.
Huiyuan Bakery, which carries the memories of many Xiamen people, is also hidden in eight cities and has a history of more than 25 years. When I was a child, there was no Andreusen or Xiangyangfang, and there were not so many colorful desserts and pastries. The fried bread was the greatest delicacy. Adhere to low prices, do not rely on packaging, and what you eat is real. The long queues will know its popularity.
Zhong Lijun Manjian Cake, which is also a delicious snack that Xiamen people have eaten since childhood. You can see Ah Ma selling cakes on site. I poured batter into the pot and sprinkled sesame seeds on it. Five or six minutes later, a steaming pot of full fried cakes was baked. Now it's a big box of 10 yuan, with 4 pieces in it, which is sweet and soft, but if you don't have friends who like sweets very much, you will try it.
Walking out of Bashi from Kaiyuan Road, you can see a mottled building. In this old building on the edge of Bashi City, there is a mottled telephone pole in front of him. The signboard is so old that it seems to be about to take off its paint. She is Jizhi Department Store. Whether you come or not, she is like an old man, indifferent to favors or insults, smiling at the wind and waves.
There are 5 floors in total, integrating bookstore, grocery, teahouse, bakery and cafe. Integrate all the feelings of old Xiamen into it. Tiles, as an iconic object in old Xiamen, can be seen here in various forms, whether in coasters, packaging boxes or bookmarks, with strong southern Fujian culture flowing in it. The tables and chairs are also heavily integrated with tile elements, as well as old objects such as abacus and typewriters that seem to go back to the past. The "ancient taste" is the biggest manifestation here.
The oolong tea room on the fifth floor is a truly peaceful place. Make tea here and look at the old arcade outside the window. You may deeply sigh that this is life. The terrace on the 5th floor can also overlook the eight cities, especially in the evening. When the lights are first on, the market is crowded with people, forming a picture of Xiamen people's daily life with the surrounding old arcade buildings.
On the first floor, there is a sale of Xiamen's most famous Ajizai pie. This pie that Xiamen people want to eat in line is presented here in the form of a hand-accompanying gift. Walking up Kaiyuan Road less than 100 meters from Jizhi Department Store, there is an intersection that is Dayuan Road. It is no more than 100 meters long and no more than five meters wide. This is Xiamen in the ancient days of the world of fireworks. It contains Xiamen's authentic Internet celebrity delicacies. Ajizai, Laicuocheng Bian Food, Taro Bao Wang, Conghui Fengrou... all have characteristics of southern Fujian cuisine. Compared with the eight cities, there are fewer tourists here, and locals prefer to eat and drink on this road.
The Old Theater Cultural Park in the middle section of Dayuan Road was formerly the Lujiang Theater built in 1942. It was once a cultural landmark in Xiamen and carried the cultural and entertainment life of Xiamen people for half a century. In 2014, the old theater, which had become a dilapidated building, was demolished and the old theater cultural theme park was built on the original site, successfully retaining the roots and soul of the old theater. You can feel the strong flavor of Xiamen's ancient breakfast here.
On the right hand side of the entrance to the park is an old wall covered with dry creeper. It is covered with various road signs, which is messy but full of interest. Place names such as Nanzhuxing Lane, Xiaodanjie Lane, Dayuan Road, etc. that are deep in the memory of old Xiamen people are reproduced here. Old objects such as old door panels and big red blessing characters also retain the flavor of old Xiamen.
In the middle of the park, there is a themed sculpture called "The Man Who Shows Movies" and a cultural wall shaped like a movie film. It can let people feel the film culture and entertainment of that era and the years they have gone through. It also symbolizes the old theater cultural park. The predecessor of the park was Xiamen Lujiang Theater. Many old Xiamen people can still feel the feeling of those years when they return here.
There is also an ancient well in the park, which was accidentally dug at the theater renovation construction site. The water inside is still very clear. Now a monument has been erected telling the experience of the ancient well. It is said that in the late years of Guangxu, after a major fire broke out in Xiamen, the area where the ancient well was located was uniformly cleared, and a row of houses was built later. In the private houses, every household will have a well in the courtyard to meet the drinking water demand. This ancient well may have been used for this reason.
Some old objects are also preserved in the park, such as old movie projectors, doll masks, etc., all treasures collected from the renovation of the old city. They carry Xiamen's history and make it a "neighborhood museum" that shows city life. Looking at these objects filled with memories in front of them, people seem to have sat on a "time machine."
You can flip through the yellowed books in the old library, enjoy the shade and chat under the trees, and there are also various cultural and artistic performances in the middle area from time to time.
The delicious food on this road is even more praised by local people. Xiamen people cannot live without tea all day. Drinking tea requires tea with it. Ajizai can be said to be one of the favorite tea matches of old Xiamen people. Ajizai's history can be traced back to the 1930s. At that time, the horseshoe cakes he made were famous far and wide. They were thin, crispy, non-sticky and non-greasy. Later, after many reforms and developments, it was renamed Ajizai Food Co., Ltd. in the 1990s. The materials were more exquisite and the packaging returned to simplicity. This store on Dayuan Road opened in 2002. These pies are freshly baked, and there are long queues at the door of the store every day. Moreover, they are all bought by locals, and you can often see the grandparents in the queue. The price is close to the people, and if you eat it yourself, you can just pack it simply. I love their coconut cakes best. They are crispy and have a strong coconut flavor. If you want to give it away, you can go to Kizhi Department Store at the entrance of Bashi to buy more exquisite packaging. The two stores are the same, but the customer base is different.
You must eat ginger duck when you come to Xiamen. Adai is a famous Xiamen snack originating outside the island. Since 1998, now branches are spread all over the island. Their ducks are all made from fresh ducks, which are secretly prepared in advance and flavored, and are then served with ginger slices, sesame oil, and kaoliang wine, and cooked carefully for an hour on slow fire. There is also a branch on Dayuan Road. Now it is 40 yuan for half a piece. The amount is real. You can cut it right now, and then heat it up for you. When you walk into the alley, you can smell the aroma of ginger duck, and the casserole is sizzling when it is opened. It can also be eaten in the house, and gift packaging has been introduced to make it convenient for tourists to take away. The duck meat is delicious and has a strong aroma of ginger. Even the ginger slices should not be missed!
Ajie Spiced Dayuan Road branch is probably the latest one on this road, but it is also the most famous one. The old shop is located in eight cities, and many other stars such as Nicholas Tse and Pan Weibo have visited it. The environment of the new store is better. Where there are in-house meals, in addition to five-spice strips, there are also niche snacks such as rice moss. The five-spice strips freshly fried at the door are particularly attractive. The fried ones are 4 yuan/strip. You can also buy them raw and go home and process them yourself. Locals usually buy more than ten bottles at a time to match wine at home. The crispy meat is rich in ingredients and is very popular among locals and tourists.
In addition, there are Lai Cuocheng Flat Food, Axi Shrimp Noodles, 141 Kaiyuan Food Stall, Tofu Bao Wang, Conghui Tong 'an Feng Pork and other delicious restaurants that locals like to visit. In the eyes of Xiamen people, there is a flavor that has been passed down for decades floating above Dayuan Road. It is deeply rooted in the taste memories of old Xiamen people and has become an unforgettable ancient taste. In this alley less than 100 meters long, there are fewer tourists carrying cameras, and you can even see those gluttons who speak a Minnan accent and Xiamen dialect. Buying a cake and packing a ginger duck is daily life.
Is Zhongshan Road, which is replaced by the old and the new, worth coming?
Xiamen Zhongshan Road is a must-check place for tourists. As the only commercial pedestrian street in the country that leads directly to the sea, it can be said that it has witnessed the century-old development of Ludao and was once the core and busiest neighborhood in Xiamen Island.
When visiting Zhongshan Road, in addition to experiencing its lively commercial atmosphere, the arcade culture is a representative of Xiamen's architectural culture. Most of these buildings were built by overseas Chinese returning to their hometown in the 1920s, and they still stand in the Bashi area of Zhongshan Road today. But for the old Xiamen people, they found that these arcade buildings were getting newer and whiter. They had long lost the flavor of the times, as if they were just replicas of later times. Of course, for tourists, it is a good place to take photos and view. It depends on what you think of it?
In addition to the completely new roads and walls, there has been an emoji exhibition on Zhongshan Road recently, attracting many Internet celebrities to check in. Each little yellow person is displayed cutely on Zhongshan Road, supplemented by arches, exotic stations and other decorations, which is suitable for the current trend of young people.
Nowadays, if tourists come to Zhongshan Road and want to experience the relics of old Xiamen, they are recommended to go to Xinjietang. Xinjietang is located at No. 29 Taiguang Street in the center of the old urban area of Xiamen City, just off Zhongshan Road. It is the first Christian church in the mainland of China for Chinese to worship. It is called the "First Holy Church of China." It is still an important gathering place for Christians in the old urban area of Xiamen and a provincial cultural relics protection unit.
The current architectural department was rebuilt in 1933 and completed in 1935. Romanesque architectural style, with a red slope roof, a hexagonal clock tower on it, and a copper clock made in the United States purchased in 1848 hangs in the tower. The front facade is equipped with a spacious front porch, six 6.5-meter-high white Romanesque columns, and the wall is inlaid with stone plaques "China's No. 1 Temple" and "The Place of the Lord's Residence" donated by the National Federation of Christian Churches in China, which remain to this day.
On the edge of Xinjietang is the most popular Internet celebrity shopping mall on Zhongshan Road-Chinatown, which gathers various shops such as eating, drinking and entertainment, as well as many trendy check-in spots.
If you want to explore the historic arcade in old Xiamen, you can only go in the direction of eight cities. In small alleys such as Zhenbang Road, Dayuan Road, and Datong Road, the arcade is preserved with relatively charm, and most of them are still from the last century. The feeling of the 1920s and 1930s.
Shapowei, a gathering place for young and fashionable people
Shapowei was originally an abandoned shelter. After being renovated over the years, it has become a small and fresh place where tourists must check in. Many tourists don't know that the Yanwu Bridge, the closest bridge to sea level in the world, is hidden at the end of the sand slope, and there is also the best viewing platform for you to enjoy it up close.
The deck elevation of the lower section of Yanwu Bridge is only 5 meters. It is considered to be the closest bridge to sea level in the world. It is right next to Xiamen's landmark Twin Towers, like a jade belt around the coastline. You can also see from the viewing platform that the lowest point of the bridge is almost level with the sea surface.
The viewing platform also connects Baicheng Beach and Shimao Emall Mall, allowing you to play in series. Because the viewing platform is an outdoor facility, although taking photos is beautiful, sun exposure is also a major drawback. Shimao Emall Mall next to it is a good summer resort. It is also the closest shopping mall to the sea in Xiamen.
The four-story shopping mall between the two towers is home to many good businesses for eating, drinking and having fun, especially in the atrium area, where there are often various interesting exhibitions. The theme of the exhibition in May and June is "laziness". This word can be said to be the epitome of today's young people. Although they are very busy, they still want to give themselves a vacation from time to time and steal laziness.
Fujian's first exhibition is open for a limited time-Lazy in Xiamen, this doll at the entrance of the mall vividly displays this theme. It leans sideways and writes a big word "Lazy" on it. Isn't this our favorite posture at home?
Walking into the mall, there is a lazy space in the atrium. The most eye-catching thing is this large round sofa, on which many people lie to rest. It's hot outside, the air conditioning in the mall is cool, and there are such comfortable big cushions. They are really a favorite for lazy people, and some people even fall asleep directly on them.
Behind the large round cushion is a lazy inflatable dog. The appearance of slumping on the sofa reminds people of their exhaustion. Life is very tiring. Would it be better to relax and be lazy? There is a lazy convenience store built on the right hand side. The various souvenirs inside are full of laziness, making people smile.
There are many check-in points in the entire atrium. You can also take photos of various styles while shopping. Moreover, most tourists don't know that the traffic inside the mall is not large and the viewing is very convenient.
Everyone is very busy in today's society! I don't have time to play the guitar, write articles, and draw characters, so I don't have time to chat together and talk about ideals. Even a simple meal gathering cannot get a square table. Going out has become a check-in task. I'm so busy! We are increasingly eager for everything to be simple and convenient, so that we can have time to relax. It seems that we all have a lazy person in our hearts. And here, we can be justifiably "lazy" for a while. It's hot summer outside, so come to the "lazy in Xiamen" space and enjoy this moment's pleasure.
After enjoying the cool off in the mall, we can walk along the beach towards the end of the sandy slope. In addition to the circle around the safe haven, Shapowei also has a cultural and green holy land, which is the Shapowei Art West District. The Art West District was originally a Xiamen Aquatic Products Processing Factory. It was transformed from old factory buildings such as a refrigeration plant, equipment room, shellfish purification center, and factory warehouse. It covers an area of nearly 10,000 square meters. This is the first renovation demonstration unit of the "Shapowei Marine Cultural and Creative Port" project and the first young cultural and art district in Xiamen. After several years of transformation and development, this place has become a cultural and creative district integrating retro markets, sports, music, trends, and food. Its popularity has gradually become more and more popular, especially on weekends.
The market stalls at the entrance sell handicrafts, groceries and other gadgets to attract the attention of tourists. Further inside, some container spaces will be transformed into food stalls and some will be transformed into shopping stores, each with its own characteristics.
The name of Shapowei comes from the fact that it is the end of a large sandy beach. The early Xiamen Port was an arc-shaped bay. The bay in this area is crescent shaped, and the golden sandy beach is connected into one piece, so it is called "Yushapo"."Good name. Later, due to the construction of the Yanwu Bridge, the function of the shelter was gradually abandoned. After the fishing boats were retired in recent years,"props" were placed for tourists to take photos, becoming a check-in place for Internet celebrities.
You can also see Xiamen's landmark Twin Towers here, which is particularly beautiful under the blue sky and white clouds.
There are many small, artistic and fresh shops around the shelter. When you are tired, you can find one to sit and rest. For example, this JUICY×4PEOPLE is an established Internet celebrity store.
There is also a sea-viewing rooftop on the second floor, where you can see the panoramic view of the Shapowei. Sitting on the balcony, the breeze blows gently and makes it extremely comfortable.
Their family specializes in bread, which locals like very much. They often bring one back when passing by, but in fact, their dinner and afternoon tea are also very good. Honey sauce chicken leg rice, an oversized chicken leg looks very tempting, and the rice grains feel like a Thai flavor is added to it, making it impossible to stop.
Seafood cuttlefish rice has a strong oceanic flavor. The rice is dyed black with cuttlefish juice and has the aroma of cheese. Serve with shrimp, clams, squid and other seafood.
There are also good choices in the afternoon tea series. Order a cup of milk coffee with desserts, and come to rest when you are tired.
The most suitable ancient drink in summer is Lao Xiamen Shihua Frozen, which is made from a dark brown sea vegetable called broccoli. After picking, the broccoli is subjected to cumbersome processing for six drying and six soaking, and then turns to white and yellow. It is boiled with water. After filtering, it is placed in the refrigerator and refrigerated to form a sticky stone flower jelly, which is transparent and looks like jelly. Cut the stone flower jelly into pieces, add some ice water, add some sugar, and drop two drops of white vinegar and lemon juice to make the delicious stone flower jelly ice. There is a petrochemical carambola clear shop in Shapowei, which can be said to be a good store that must check in summer.
The signature is iced stone flowers and carambola clear. The ancient taste relieves heat and thirst. The carambola is sweet and sour to produce saliva. The stone flowers clear heat and dispel heat. Summer is really suitable.
Huandao Road, the beautiful coastline of the most beautiful marathon track
Xiamen Huandao Road passes through major attractions such as ferries, Baicheng Overpass, Xiamen University Baicheng, Hulishan Fort, Yefengzhai, and International Convention and Exhibition Center. It has beautiful scenery and sea breeze. It is an elegant resort for leisure tourism, accommodation and catering. The entire route is long, so you can rent bicycles to ride or drive around by yourself.
Huandao Road Beach, especially in the Baicheng and Pearl Bay areas of Xiamen University, is a natural beach for swimming in summer. There are open parks and walking paths on the side. It is especially suitable for men, women and old to fly kites, run, skate and ride bicycles here.
Huandao Road is designated as a section of the international marathon track every year, so many people are seen running along the road every day. Whether young or elderly, they are very keen on running on the Huandao Road. Along the Huandao Road, you can also see statues of various figures, made into various sports postures, which is quite the style of a "sports road".
On the beach of Huangcuo, a large placard stands "One Country, Two Systems, Unifying China". When the weather is fine, you can still see the Little Kinmen on the other side. This was once a war front line full of artillery fire. Now the years are quiet and there is a peaceful atmosphere.
There are also many parks built on the entire Huandao Road, such as Calligraphy Square, Haiyun Terrace, etc., for tourists to relax.
Jimei is extremely beautiful, a place where people gather together, and locals love it the most
When it comes to Xiamen tourism, many people think of Gulangyu Island, Zengcuo 'an, and Xiamen University. However, if you have time, as a local, I strongly recommend you to go to Jimei District outside the island, which has more beautiful scenery and humanities. Jimei is extremely beautiful. It is a famous hometown and scenic tourist area for overseas Chinese. There are more than 60,000 overseas Chinese living overseas. The environment here is quiet and elegant, with beautiful scenery. This is the birthplace of Kageng's school. Chen Jiageng's former residence, Aoyuan Returning Garden, Lilin Garden, Dragon Boat Pond, Crocodile Garden, Wanbao Mountain Sightseeing Orchard, Xuecun Building Complex, etc. are all cultural landscapes with unique charm of southern Fujian. The world's largest aquatic "Garden Expo Park" is located in Jimei.
The most convenient way to get to Jimei now is the subway. Since its completion, Metro Line 1 has attracted countless citizens and tourists to check in. The beautiful scenery of the Haihai Metro has been hailed as a reproduction of "Spirited Away".
Jimei Xuecun Subway Station is also very characteristic of southern Fujian. It takes about 10 minutes to walk after leaving the station to reach the Da Memorial Bridge in Jimei Xuecun.
Say it is a school, but it is actually a village. Jimei School Village is the general name for various schools and cultural institutions in Jimei. It is located in Jimei Village. It was founded in 1913 by Mr. Chen Jiageng, a famous patriotic overseas Chinese leader, and is well-known at home and abroad. A talent training system has been formed from preschool education to primary school, junior high school and from undergraduate education to master's and doctoral education. It is not only a place with beautiful scenery, but also a tourist attraction that gathers beauty. Its architecture integrates Chinese and Western styles into one furnace, reflecting the architectural style of a typical overseas Chinese hometown in southern Fujian. Compared with Xiamen University, which is crowded with tourists, Jimei School Village has a more peaceful scenery.
Jimei Xuecun was founded under the personal guidance of Mr. Chen Jiageng. Its architecture integrates Chinese and Western styles into one furnace, reflecting the typical architectural style of the hometown of overseas Chinese in southern Fujian. Whether it is tall and spectacular school buildings or small and elegant pavilions, corridors and pavilions, they are all covered with glass roofs, dragon ridges and phoenix eaves, and carved beams and painted buildings. People call them the "Jiageng style". You can walk along the archway in Xuecun, or you can stroll around the dragon boat pond.
Compared with the current unified high-rise buildings, in the school village, you will find that these teaching buildings built in the last century have a unique flavor, like gentlemen. Moreover, each college is scattered in residential areas and does not have strict boundaries, making it very down-to-earth.
To talk about the essence of Jimei School Village, it should be the one near the Dragon Boat Pond. The Dragon Boat Pond was built by Mr. Kageng in 1950. Mr. Chen Jiageng once said: In the past, Bie-chan wanted to be in the limelight and win the championship. The dragon boat race we advocated was to exercise the body and strengthen the people's physique, to compete in unity and style, and to commemorate the patriotic poet Qu Yuan. Every year around the Dragon Boat Festival, recreational activities such as dragon boat rowing and rice dumplings are held here. It is especially beautiful when there are no competitions here.
There are several antique buildings with glazed tile-roofed towers, corridors and pavilions built around the Dragon Boat Pool. The "Nanhui" Pavilion in the center of the north bank is the main viewing platform and command platform. The building is of corridor style, with double-layer octagonal pavilions connected at both ends. The middle is a two-story building with double eaves and a mountain top, all of which are glazed tile roofs. The pavilions around the Dragon Boat Pond have an architectural style with strong southern Fujian characteristics that is deeply influenced by Southeast Asian culture. They are an important part of the Dragon Boat Pond.
Jimei Middle School by the Dragon Boat Pool is known as the most beautiful middle school in the world. The landmark building Nanxun Building is full of the style of southern Fujian arcade. The main building is a 15-story Western-style building with a Chinese square pavilion on the roof. When it was completed, it was the tallest building in Jimei, with the word "Jimei" on the top of the tower. The annex buildings on both sides are like wings spreading their wings, and the sky is soaring. Nanxun Building has five major characteristics: one is to wear a suit and a bamboo hat; the other is to wear a three-curved swallowtail ridge; the third is to color bricks and enter the stone; the fourth is that the beams, purlins and trusses are not painted; and the fifth is to innovate Jiageng tiles. Viewed from a distance, the Bell Tower of Nanxun Tower stands tall under the blue sky and complements the dragon boat water.
Daonan Building is the latest to be completed among Jimei Middle School's Jiageng style buildings. It is considered to be the most exquisite Jiageng style building in Jimei School Village. The Jiageng style "buildings use a large amount of fine grain granite produced locally in southern Fujian, and the colors are gorgeous.
You can walk all the way to Jiageng Park along the Dragon Boat Pond. It was built in memory of Mr. Chen Jiageng, a patriotic overseas Chinese. Even if you are not so familiar with this great overseas Chinese leader, it is worth visiting purely from a tourist's perspective.
Entering the garden, you will be full of pavilions and pavilions scattered high and low, which is a reflection of the combination of Chinese and Western styles. In recent years, Jiageng Park has been connected to Aoyuan, Jiageng Memorial Hall, etc., becoming a tourist check-in place integrating humanities and scenery. Among them, the most representative ones are "Ao Ting" and "Mingshi Ting", both built simultaneously with Aoyuan in the 1950s and 1960s and are extensions of Aoyuan's architectural landscape.
Aoyuan consists of three parts: the verandah, Jimei Liberation Monument, and Chen Jiageng Mausoleum. Recently, the interior of Aoyuan is undergoing upgrades and renovations, with some enclosures, but you can still see how beautifully built it was back then. In 1962, when the famous poet Guo Moruo visited Aoyuan, he wrote a couplet in calligraphy: "Seeing everything about the Aoyuan Museum is better than seeing it once, and tens of thousands of people in Lujiang Jimei Middle School admire the Spring and Autumn Festival." He spoke highly of the rich cultural connotation and precious artistic value of Aoyuan Museum.
Standing on the seawall along the coast and letting the sea breeze blow, you can see the Jimei Bridge in the distance like a jade belt lying across the sea. On the right side is the Jimei Liberation Monument, which is also the main building of Aoyuan. The monument is 28 meters high and symbolizes the 28-year struggle history from its founding in 1921 to the birth of New China in 1949. It is a monument of patriotism built by Mr. Chen Jiageng for our descendants.
Large-scale stone carvings "Peach Plum Fragrance" and "Honorary Monument of Respect for Teachers and Importance of Education" have also been erected in the park, praising the eternal theme of "education-based, rejuvenating the country through science and education" from different perspectives. The main building of the candle stone carving of the "Monument of Honor for Teachers and Respect Education" symbolizes a torch that burns forever. It is the epitome of Mr. Tan Jiageng's selfless dedication in setting up education, cultivating talents, and igniting himself and others.
The Dragon Boat Race is also one of the most important large-scale events in Jimei District every year. It is held in the Dragon Boat Pond around the Dragon Boat Festival every year. There are now dragon boats on display in Jiageng Park, attracting many tourists to take photos.
The Chen Jiageng Memorial Hall and the supporting Jiageng Cultural Square are located at the reclamation area east of the north gate of Jiageng Park. The main building adheres to the unique southern Fujian architectural style and is harmoniously unified with Jimei Aoyuan and Jiageng Park, complementing each other, forming a relatively complete tourist memorial resort. The memorial hall displays Mr. Kageng's life through words, pictures, objects, etc., which makes visitors awe-inspiring.
Now the entire Jiageng Park Scenic Area is open for free. Visitors only need to make an online reservation in advance or register at the site to measure their body temperature before entering the park. Compared with the Internet celebrity attractions on the island, there is less passenger flow here, but you can appreciate the essence of Jiageng architecture and experience Jiageng culture in the beautiful environment of Tianfeng and Haitao. It is also a good place to take photos and take pictures.
Not far from Jiageng Park, there are also Guilai Hall and Chen Jiageng's former residence, which can be visited together and is free of charge. The bronze statue of Mr. Tan Jiageng stands in front of the Return Hall. There is a hall and more than ten wing rooms. A sitting stone statue of Chen Jiageng is placed in the center of the hall, and a couplet written by Guo Moruo and a tribute to Chen Jiageng's memorial to the All-China Federation of Overseas Chinese are hung and arranged.
On the back side of the Return Hall is also the former residence of Chen Jiageng, which is built with white stone walls and covered with green tiles. It is a representative building with southern Fujian characteristics. The display mainly consists of pictures, charts and objects, vividly introducing the life of Mr. Chen Jiageng, an overseas Chinese leader. If you visit it carefully, you can better understand the patriotic feelings of this great old man.
Walking along the path next to Jiageng's former residence, you can reach the Dashe Ancient House, which has a development history of more than 700 years. There are traditional red brick ancient houses in southern Fujian, and like Gulangyu and Zhongshan Road, there are also overseas Chinese buildings with different customs. A blend of Southeast Asian style, Spanish style and other Chinese and Western architecture.
The times have left a strong mark here. You can see these historical marks that are difficult to see on the island in Dashe. It is comfortable and peaceful here. Walking here, it seems that everything around us is slowing down. Chen's Ancestral Temple, a traditional layout of the Southern Fujian Ancestral Temple, walks inside, and the high-hanging plaques can't help but make people respect this great patriotic leader who devoted all his efforts to donate money to education.
And this place is also being built into a cultural district and an Internet celebrity graffiti street, giving this ancient house new vitality.
Jimei's delicious food has to be mentioned as a friend, and a duck meat noodle line was used to attend the BRICS Conference State Banquet. Weiyou now has many branches on and off the island, but the one locals like to visit most is this old store in Jimei. It has a strong flavor of ancient morning as soon as you enter the door.
The value for money is extremely high. The must-order bowl of duck meat noodles when you come to the store. The small portions are enough for 2-3 people. A cup of duck meat soup is full of portions. It is made of muscovy duck and slowly stewed with medicinal materials to nourish yin and kidney. Add it with a bowl of non-sticky dough lines for great satisfaction.

This is a big tonic! Eat it while it is cold, otherwise the freezing will easily melt after leaving it for a long time.
Whenever night falls, the night view by the dragon boat pool is not to be missed. The breeze is just right at night, and many citizens walk around the dragon boat pond for exercise. The pavilions and pavilions are really pleasing to the eye under the light. The dazzling lights shone on the water, making it suffocating. Made in Gaonan, the river of the vertical pool is full of flowing light, and the top of the 15th floor has a soul-catching beauty. Daonan Building and Nanxun Building echo each other from afar, forming a unique scenery by the dragon boat pool.
Outside the island, new Internet celebrities check in, with blue water and blue sky all the way, and a long coastline covering ecological parks
Summer is about playing in the water, and Xiamen is surrounded by the sea, making it a good place to travel in midsummer. Many tourists come to Xiamen and choose to play on the island's Huandao Road, Baicheng Beach, Huangcuo Beach, Gulangyu Island and other online red beaches. In fact, in the past two years or two, a romantic coastal line has been built around the east coast of the island, with fewer people and beautiful scenery. The beach scenery is more beautiful.
The Coastal Tourism Romance Line project around the East Sea Area starts at the bridge head of Jimei Bridge in Jimei District and ends at the Sports Convention and Exhibition Center in Xiang 'an District. It has a total length of about 47 kilometers and is an important part of Xiamen's Coastal Tourism Romance Line. The first phase of the Coastal Tourism Romance Line, which has a total length of about 7.9 kilometers, combines special landscapes such as golden beaches, rainbow tracks, bicycle paths, scenic trails, and children's parks. Among them, part of the dedicated marathon track starts from Meifeng Ecological Park in the Huandong Sea and ends at the Sports Convention and Exhibition Center of Xiang 'an District. It has a total length of 42.195 kilometers and a track width of 8 - 16 meters. The entire line uses colored asphalt concrete pavement, and the road design standards refer to urban secondary trunk roads.
Tall coconut trees are planted along the way, which has a tropical flavor of Southeast Asia, especially under the blue sky and white clouds. 7.9 The kilometer-long rainbow track is a new "check-in place" for Xiamen citizens to exercise for outdoor sports. Many citizens can be seen exercising here no matter whether it rains or shines. You can also rent a four-wheeled bicycle and ride along the coastline.
The wide sandy beaches and green spaces are also suitable for taking children to set up tents for camping, and there are also various sea projects to play with.
There are many parks distributed along the entire Binhai Romantic Line, the most important of which is Meifeng Sports Park. It starts from Tianma Road in the west, passes through Tongji Road and Binhai West Avenue in the east, and extends to Tong 'an Bay. It is a park with mountains, seas and lakes.
Sunshine Town next to Meifeng Sports Park is an Internet celebrity shopping mall that integrates shopping, leisure, entertainment, and photography. You can come here to rest and forage for food when you are tired. Especially on the sea-viewing platform on the third floor, you can see the blue skies and blue seas and the Portman Hotel with European characteristics. The statue of the sausage rabbit is also specially featured.
