During the last summer vacation in college, I took the elderly from my family on a trip as usual."Take a look at the terracotta warriors" was a saying often mentioned by the elderly at home. Therefore, the destination this time was Xi'an.
I came to Xi'an once two years ago, and I have already had an idea of the general attractions in Xi'an. In addition, before setting off, my mother repeatedly told me to "relax, relax!" This time, my itinerary has changed a lot, which is very different from the first "Brave to the World" trip.
Transportation: High-speed rail
Round-trip fee: 4000 per person (lower for elderly students)
General itinerary:
August 20: Drum Tower and Bell Tower
August 21: Terracotta Warriors, Huaqing Pool, City Wall
August 22: Little Wild Goose Pagoda, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Tang Dynasty Sleepless City
August 23: Huimin Street, Former Residence of Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng, Tang Dynasty Furong Garden
August 24: Shaanxi History Museum, Yongxing Square
August 20
The high-speed train left at around 8 a.m. took more than 6 hours for Shanghai Hongqiao to arrive at Xi'an North Railway Station at 2 p.m. After getting off the train, there is a subway that goes directly to the city. The hotel "Lemon Hotel" I booked is located in Nancheng Gate. It has a good location. It is just 100 meters away from Yongningmen Subway Station (4-star standard but the price is 3-star. The hotel will upgrade its rooms during the off-season. Recommended!) After a simple tidying up, he went out to find food.
You shouldn't be too tired to bring the elderly out. In addition, it's scorching heat, so today's itinerary is only--Drum Tower (due to time constraints, the Bell Tower didn't have time to go up). If you just look at the Bell Tower and Drum Tower, to be honest, it is more suitable to overlook. Once you climb the building, you will not be able to experience the scenery of the Bell Tower and Drum Tower itself. You can only overlook the city of Xi'an.
We chose "Tongshengxiang" next to the Drum Tower for dinner. This is a restaurant that has been featured in CCTV's "Travel Around China". It features mutton and beef steamed buns. The price is expensive and there are not many types of dishes. The price is average. Try it fresh. There are not too many customers inside, basically all of them are tourists.
August 21
After absorbing the pain of rushing to the railway station to squeeze public buses on the first time I came here, I chose to rent a car this time when I went to the Terracotta Warriors. Got the car a day in advance and set off before the tourist army at 7 a.m. It takes about an hour and a half to drive from Xi'an to the Terracotta Warriors. There were already a lot of people when we arrived. I personally suggested that we must ask for an explanation (there is one in the ticket hall), so that we will have a deep understanding of the history. (At the end, I will recommend going to the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang, which is just a mound of earth, but I am not recommended)
When the terracotta warriors came out, they found King Yonghe near the exit and ate some casually. The beef noodle roujiamo was in accordance with the rules (restaurants in the scenic area dare not step on thunder).
Walking back in the afternoon, I stopped by Huaqing Palace. There are great night performances inside (tickets are hard to buy), otherwise there are several pits (where Imperial Concubine Yang took a bath) and the capture of Jiang Ting during the Xi'an Incident (the old man may be more interested).
After returning to Xi'an to finish the bus for dinner, I chose the style of "Weijia Liangpi"(recommended by local classmates) Chinese fast food. The taste is quite good and the price is also cheap. The Liangpi and Roujiamo inside are the specialties. There are various styles of the Liangpi, including various cold dishes; the Roujiamo's crispy crust is very crisp and tastes quite good. You can choose from fat and lean meat, which is definitely worth the money.
Going to the city wall in the evening, cycling around the city wall is a major feature. Riding a bicycle, despite the cold wind, playing the "Song of Xi'an People" in my headphones, with rich history at my feet, and a prosperous city in front of me, quietly experiencing the unique charm of this city.
After going down the city wall, I asked my parents and the elderly to go back to rest. Another friend and I went to the "Big Ice's Cabin"(originally wanted to go to Defu Lane, but personally preferred Big Ice). Dabing's cabin focuses on music and the price is moderate. Take a few sips of wine, sing a few songs, and listen to stories from all over the world...
You don't have to get up as early as the day before on August 22, sleep until you wake up naturally, and enjoy the hotel's generous breakfast (this hotel's breakfast is good value for money, and all our breakfasts are served at the hotel). There is a bus directly to the Little Wild Goose Pagoda. Compared with the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the Little Wild Goose Pagoda has fewer tourists and is more like a park where locals exercise early. I couldn't go up to the Little Wild Goose Pagoda, so I could only stroll around below. The environment was very good, and I could occasionally chat with a few local old men in Xi'an.
I settled it in a small restaurant at noon. The quality was average and the taste was salty. In the afternoon, I took the bus to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. It was 2 o'clock when I arrived. It was just the scorching sun. I first went to the Joy City next door to find a dessert shop to do, and went to the mall. Inside is the giant Internet celebrity Sun Wukong (there is a statue of Xuanzang in the square outside, which netizens jokingly called "Wukong is blowing the air conditioner inside, and the master is basking in the sun outside"). Wait until 3:30 and take advantage of the departure of the tour group to enter Daci 'en Temple. The temples across the country are actually similar to the layman. The most famous one is the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Considering the old man's physical strength, I didn't climb it (I went there when I first came here, and I could overlook the surrounding scenery, but nothing else was special).
For dinner, we chose "Grandma's House" in Joy City. The chain store tasted just like that and was just as normal. When you come out of the mall, you will find the Tang Dynasty City that never sleeps. I have to say that the lights and night scenery are really shocking. It seems to have returned to the prosperous times of the Tang Dynasty, which is very suitable for taking photos! (At that time, there were no Internet celebrities, and tourists were not crowded as they imagined.) It would be best to finish before the main troops, otherwise the subway would be crowded and there were very few taxis.
August 23
Today is still a leisure trip, and you can avoid the morning rush hour when you wake up naturally. Walking to the Yang Hucheng Memorial Hall, located in a small street shaded by trees, there are basically no tourists, which adds a bit of solemnity and tranquility, and also allows people to better understand the greatness of this patriotic general. Zhang Xueliang's former residence is not far from Yang Hucheng's former residence and can be reached on foot. There are obviously more tourists here, and the content inside is much the same as before, but these two are heroic generals who fought against Japan and saved the country, and will always be remembered no matter how long they take. These two former residences are free to visit and are worth a visit, especially for the elderly and children.
Lunch was served at the "Lao Sun's mutton steamed buns" on Huimin Street. This restaurant was completely recommended by "A Bite of China". There are not many customers inside. The waiter's attitude is average and cold. To be honest, the taste of beef and mutton is not much different from that outside, and I am not very satisfied. Every city has such a street that locals rarely come to. The audience of the things inside is tourists. It is only suitable for hanging out, and forget it if you buy it. Hui Min Street is such a street. I bought a mirror cake inside. The taste is really ordinary and the price is a little more expensive than outside.
The last one today is Datang Furong Garden, which is another place suitable for night tours and watching the night view. It was too early to come out of Huimin Street, so I first went to Qujiang Bookstore next to Datang Furong Garden, ordered an afternoon tea, and quietly waited for the arrival of evening. It closed at 4:30. When we went there, we were just in time for major repairs. Several attractions inside were closed (unfortunately, the first time I went there, it was quite exciting and there were various performances), and the performances were basically cancelled. I had to walk around and see the antique buildings. The summer night came very late. When we had to leave because of hunger, the lights were turned on. Although we only watched a small part of it, we were still impressed by the light. (Normally, Datang Furong Garden will have various performances and stage plays, with wonderful content)
After coming out, I found a restaurant called "The First Side of the World". Maybe I am too hungry, and I feel that the dishes inside taste good, gourd chicken, the best side in the world, oil sprinkled noodles... The price is also moderate, so I recommend it! (When we left, many people were queuing outside, and business was booming)
August 24
Today's main itinerary is Shaanxi History Museum. Because of the "national treasure", the Shaanxi History Museum is extremely popular, so you must make an appointment in advance. Usually, you have to make an appointment about a week in advance. Tickets are very tight. After making an appointment, you can enter with your ID card (or buy tickets for a special exhibition, but I haven't tried it and I'm not sure if it's OK). According to the reserved admission time, entry is around 10 o'clock. Visiting the museum must be equipped with an interpreter, especially historical ones, otherwise you will not know the story contained in each cultural relic. I thought everything would be fine if I entered the venue. I didn't expect that there were not enough guides, so I had to queue up. During winter and summer vacations, I usually wait for about 1 hour to get guides (if you can't wait, you can rent an electronic guide, but I personally feel that it's not as good as a real person to explain). The exhibits inside are indeed national treasures. By listening to the explanations and reading, you can learn a lot and have a deeper understanding of the city of Xi'an. Even if there are many people, I still highly recommend it.
It was already 2 o'clock in the afternoon when the museum came out, and many shopping malls and restaurants were closed. There was no choice, so I chose "Wei Family Cold Noodle" and changed it to a cold noodle. The taste was still great! Due to the crowded experience in the morning, I rested in the hotel in the afternoon and decided to go to the Internet celebrity restaurant "Chang 'an Food Stall" in the evening. This store is a chain and can be found in many places in downtown Xi'an, but basically all of them need to queue up. We arrived at 5 p.m. and still had to queue up. But fortunately, it usually takes an hour to queue up. The interior is decorated in a classical style, and the attitude of the waiter is also very good. The special dishes inside-gourd chicken, brush crisp, mahjong cake... are all regarded as Internet celebrity dishes. The taste is OK. The main reason is that they are fresh and the prices are in Internet celebrity stores. It's close to the people.
The "Chang 'an Food Stall" we ate was located next to Yongxing Square. After eating, we took a stroll around Yongxing Square. Due to the popularity of throwing bowls wine before, the popularity here has gradually increased. Yongxing Square is essentially a snack street, with various snacks and several restaurants with unique styles. You can also buy some local souvenirs and specialties. Of course, you can also try Internet celebrity throwing bowls wine.
