Is Xi'an fun?

I guess the answer to this question will have two extremes. Friends who are very interested in history and humanities will find it very interesting, while friends who are not interested in history may think that Xi'an is not worth visiting at all, because compared to popular modern tourist cities such as Chengdu and Chongqing, the most charming thing about Xi'an is its unique ancient capital culture.

But I believe that whether you are interested in history or not, Xi'an, as the ancient capital of thirteen dynasties, is also worth a visit. Through the historical relics or reconstructed appearance of the ancient capital, you can dispel the clouds of history and see the historical changes of the Chinese nation for thousands of years. I think this is the greatest significance of your trip to Xi'an.

This year's National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival are happy to meet. I hereby write a brief introduction to Xi'an tourism and vacation. I hope friends who plan to go to Xi'an can have a pleasant and unforgettable tourism experience.

Transportation: The transportation in Xi'an is quite convenient, mainly by subway. The Bell and Drum Tower is the center of Xi'an, and the nearby transportation is relatively developed, not far from major scenic spots.

Admission: Most attractions in Xi'an require admission tickets, so it is recommended to purchase them online as the prices are relatively cheap and the most important thing is to save time queuing up to buy tickets.

Accommodation: Remind everyone to book hotels in advance, especially during the National Day Mid-Autumn Festival, the hotels will be full. It is recommended that everyone live near the Bell and Drum Tower or the Ming City Wall, where transportation is convenient and eating, drinking, and entertainment are also convenient.

I recommend a hotel I have stayed at, the Xi'an Lichengyi Hotel. It is located near the Bell and Drum Tower and has a strong sense of history. The rooms are in a light Chinese style, bright and transparent, with a strong visual impact. The beds are very comfortable, making it one of the most comfortable hotels I have ever stayed in. I feel that it matches the temperament of the city of Xi'an very well.

Recommended attractions:

There are many scenic spots in Xi'an, large and small. Based on my experience of Xi'an tourism, I recommend Bell and Drum Tower, Ming City Wall, Shaanxi History Museum, Little Wild Goose Pagoda, Tang Paradise Garden, Tang Sleepless City, Terra Cotta Warriors and Huaqing Pool.

1、 Bell and Drum Tower

The Bell and Drum Tower is divided into the Bell Tower and the Drum Tower. It is a landmark scenic spot in Xi'an and the interpreter of "Morning Bell and Evening Drum". The two buildings stand opposite each other, imposing. Especially at night, the night scene is very beautiful, and the whole building looks magnificent. There are stairs in the building, and you can see the scenery of the whole city when you climb the tower. When you look up at the Mid-Autumn Festival, the wind is clear and the moon is high, which is a good place to watch the moon.

2、 Ming City Wall

The Ming City Wall is full of historical significance. Climbing up the city tower, you can overlook the magnificent scenery of the entire Chang'an City. It is very spacious above, and it is very exhausting to explore. The wisest way is to rent a bicycle to surround the city for a week. If you only go at night, the experience will be different. The Ming City Wall at night feels "timeless and independent", with no obstruction around and very clear. I think admiring the moon is also a good choice.

3、 Shaanxi History Museum

To gain a comprehensive understanding of a city, museums are undoubtedly the best choice. The most impressive thing about the Shaanxi History Museum to me is the model of the original appearance of Chang'an City on the basement level, which is very realistic and gives a sense of being there. I suggest everyone to visit it carefully.

4、 Xiaoyan Pagoda

In people's minds, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda may be more famous, after all, it is the place where Xuanzang hid his scriptures. However, personally, I prefer the Small Wild Goose Pagoda. Firstly, there are relatively few people, and secondly, in a city like Xi'an, one can actually see garden buildings like water towns in Jiangnan, which is truly delightful.

5、 Tang Dynasty Furong Garden, Tang Dynasty Night City

These two places vividly depict the appearance of the prosperous Tang Dynasty in the past, and are iconic attractions of the "Dream Back to Chang'an" series. The Tang Dynasty Night City has restored the "nightlife" of the prosperous Tang Dynasty. Friends who love the Tang Dynasty must go and visit it.

6、 Terra Cotta Warriors, Huaqingchi

These two places are not far apart and usually swim together. The Terra Cotta Warriors are crowded, but waiting in line is worth it, because the value of tourism is very high, but it is better to invite a guide, otherwise it is difficult to understand the furnishings inside. Huaqing Pool was the place where Yang Guifei took a bath and left endless imagination. The curtain wall of Bai Juyi's "Song of Everlasting Regret" is also inside, making it a relatively exquisite scenic spot.

Food recommendations:

I recommend two food streets in Xi'an to everyone, one is Huimin Street, and the other is Yongxing Fang. Huimin Street is an online popular snack street in Xi'an. Generally, people who come to Xi'an will visit Huimin Street. Pita bread soaked in Lamb Soup is the most distinctive food snack in Xi'an. In addition, we recommend crispy pork, marinated bean jelly and sesame paste Liangpi. Compared to Huimin Street, I prefer Yongxing Fang. Yongxing Fang was originally the mansion of Wei Zheng in the Tang Dynasty. This place represents the folk culture of Xi'an to a large extent, with the smoke and fire of the market and the characteristics of ancient capital architecture. It is praised for its balance between the market and ancient charm, and is very worth a visit.

That's all for the travel guide about the Mid Autumn Festival and National Day in Xi'an. For details about the trip to Xi'an, please feel free to leave a message in the background, and we will further explore it in detail.
