Xi'an is one of the important birthplaces of Chinese civilization and the Chinese nation. It is also a "World Historical City" determined by UNESCO. In history, more than ten dynasties have established their capitals here. Today, many historical monuments and scenic spots, such as Qin Shi Huang Terracotta Warriors, Xi'an City Wall, Big and Small Wild Goose Pagoda, Tang Huaqing Palace, etc., are all popular tourist attractions among tourists.
Speaking of "Huaqing Palace", I believe it is no stranger to everyone and is one of the must-check-in attractions when traveling to Xi'an. Huaqing Palace is located near Huaqing Road, Lintong District, Xi'an City. In ancient times, it was a separate palace for emperors to entertain. It is now one of China's four major royal gardens, a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction, and a national key cultural relic protection unit. Tickets are 120 yuan per person.
It is reported that Huaqing Palace was built in the early years of the Tang Dynasty and has a history of more than 1000 years. At the beginning, Huaqing Palace was named Tangquan Palace, and later renamed Wenquan Palace and Huaqing Palace. Because the buildings here were built in accordance with the mountains of Lishan, it is also called Lishan Palace. Huaqing Palace flourished during the period of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty. It was very large in scale. At that time, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty would come here for fun almost every October. Bai Juyi once wrote a poem praising: "Huaqing Palace is at the foot of Mount Li, and the jade halls are connected by thousands of layers."
Huaqing Palace did not fall into the "Anshi Rebellion". At that time, the political situation suddenly changed, and the place also declined rapidly. Later emperors rarely visited Huaqing Palace again. In modern times, Huaqing Palace had become a scene of sparse soup ponds and sparse palaces. Later, large-scale repairs and expansion were carried out in 1959, which gradually restored its former glory and became a popular amusement place.
According to inspection records, the historical location of Huaqing Palace is very unique. The buildings here make full use of favorable terrain, and the palace buildings built are huge and magnificent. The main palaces are centered on the "hot spring". The hot spring is the entire Huaqing Palace. The core of the Palace is surrounded by pavilions, pavilions, corridors and winding paths and many green plants. The beauty of the scenery is no less than that of Jiangnan classical gardens.
Due to the large scale of Huaqing Palace, it would take more than half a day to visit it in detail. However, since the buildings here were rebuilt in a later period, many tourists said that it was not worth visiting. There are not many historical relics left over from history. If the tickets were cheaper, it would be a good place for leisure and entertainment.
Many people may know that Huaqing Palace is also known as "Huaqing Pool". Since ancient times, it has actually been a place with a "hot spring soup pond" as its core. After all, its original name was "Tangquan Palace", so when visiting Huaqing Palace, several soup ponds here are the main objects to visit.
There is a very famous sculpture in Huaqing Palace, namely the "Statue of the Imperial Consort Coming out of the Bath". Consort Yang was the beloved concubine of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty. Historically, the two lived in today's Huaqing Palace. Every October, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty would bring Imperial Consort Yang here to spend the winter, bathe, and enjoy the scenery. It is said that she has been here thirty-six times.
Several "Tangchi Sites" excavated here have been protected, and tourists can enter the houses to visit. The more famous Tangchi include Lotus Pond, Begonia Pond, and Furong Pond.
The most famous of these is this "Haitang Pond Ruins". It is reported that the Haitang Pond was built in 747 AD. It was a love gift given by Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty to his beloved concubine Yang. It was a special bath for bathing Consort Yang. The whole pool looks small and exquisite, but its design is very unique, just like a blooming Begonia flower. The walls of the soup pond are made of black jade.
Of course, some people say that the tickets here are too expensive and 120 yuan is not worth it per person, but many people say it is still worth visiting. After all, you can see the "soup pool" that survived from that time. I wonder, when you traveled to Xi'an, have you been to or heard of the famous "Huaqing Pool"? What is your impression of the scenery and soup pond here? Welcome to leave comments.
