Two days ago, Xi'an rushed to the hot search again. A news that "the scenic spot posted original photos at the construction site for tourists to take photos" attracted likes from netizens. It turned out that the exterior walls of the three towers under repair at the Yongning Gate of Xi'an City Wall had been printed with photos of the original proportions of the city wall. From a distance, it seemed that the curtain could not be distinguished from the original building for a while! In this way, tourists who come from afar will not leave any regrets about not being able to appreciate the city wall. Such a considerate move has turned Yongning Gate into a more beautiful scenery, and more tourists come to check in.
Xi'an has been an ancient city with history and humanities coexisting since ancient times. In addition to the Xi'an Ming City Wall in the national-level 5A scenic spot, recently, the Xi'an City Cultural Relics Bureau also announced relevant information on the Qin and Han Dynasties Palace City of the Warring States Period-the Qin and Han Dynasties Liyang City Site. The Liyang City Site in the Qin and Han Dynasties is located in Liyang City in Yanliang District. The whole city is rectangular and 7 sites were built in the city. As the early capital of the Qin and Han Dynasties, it has a relatively complete urban layout. As early as 2017, the archaeological team conducted exploration and trial excavation of the site and discovered many large-scale palace building sites, among which the No. 3 Ancient City was of larger scale and level. In 2018, the "harem" area of that period was cleared out. It was an important archaeological cleanup work rare in many years, which gave us important scientific research value in studying the architectural layout of that period.
Traditionally, academics say that "the Han inherited the Qin system", which means that the political system and architectural civilization of the Qin Dynasty had a profound impact on later generations. Now Liyang City in the Qin and Han Dynasties has also become a national key cultural relic protection unit. During the development of the site, living relics such as bathrooms, wells, stove sites, and iron-smelting workshops were discovered. At the same time, two written tiles were also discovered in the site. These two written tiles are the earliest tiles unearthed in China. Cultural relics, the Yuyangcheng site is an important materialization carrier in today's archaeological research on the history and culture of the Qin and Han Dynasties. After Liu Bang captured Guanzhong, he established his capital in Liyang. Although his capital was moved to Chang 'an, Liu Wei, the father of Emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty, still lived in Liyang and was later buried north of Liyang City. It was also the first imperial tomb and mausoleum of the Han Dynasty.
Cultural relics such as gold cakes, pottery bowls, and manga coins have been unearthed here over the years. The gold cakes are also engraved with the words "four and two halves", indicating that commerce here was once very developed. Sima Qian also recorded that there were "many merchants" here. This is also the place where the famous Shang Yang Reform took place in history. The pottery inscription "Yuyang" clearly records this matter. Yuyang can be said to be the foundation for the rise of the Qin Dynasty. In the recent popular TV series "Fu to the Great Qin", the history and culture of Qin are deeply restored. The lifestyle of the Qin people seems to be vaguely visible in the play. Cultural relics such as the Terracotta Warriors and Terracotta Warriors can bear witness to the world-leading technology and system of that period.
In Xi'an, how many surprising discoveries will be made in the future are worthy of our expectations!
