Tour Xi'an in a RV

Coming to Xi'an again is different from previous trips. This time, I chose to drive a car to dream about the ancient capital of Chang' an and visit the Shaanxi History Museum, Terracotta Warriors, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, and Tang Dynasty Furong Garden.

Datang Furong Garden: Large-scale royal garden-style cultural theme park

Datang Furong Garden is located in Qujiang Development Zone, south of Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, southeast of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. It was north of the original Tang Dynasty Furong Garden site and was rebuilt in imitation of the Tang Dynasty royal garden. It is China's first large-scale royal garden-style cultural theme park to comprehensively display the style of the Tang Dynasty. It covers an area of 1000 acres, including 300 acres of water area.

"The palace at the head of the river has thousands of doors locked. Who are the green willows and new cattails?" After the reign of Zhenguan in Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, garden construction began to take major actions here in the subsequent Gaozong, Ruizong and other dynasties, laying the foundation for the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty culture.

The Tang Dynasty Furong Garden is divided from the imperial cultural area, women's cultural area, poetry cultural area, imperial examination cultural area, tea cultural area, song and dance cultural area, food cultural area, folk cultural area, diplomatic cultural area, Buddhist cultural area, Taoist cultural area, Children's entertainment area, Damen Landscape Cultural Area, and Shuixiu Performance Area. The fourteen landscape cultural areas include the Tang Dynasty's towering and dazzling spiritual style, its dazzling and unparalleled culture and art, as well as its crossing the sky. The majestic atmosphere that dominates everything. The main attractions in the park include: Ziyun Building, Fengming Jiutian Theater, Yuyan Palace, Tangshi City, Fanglin Garden, Ladies Hall, Caixia Pavilion, Luyu Tea House, Apricot Garden, Shihun, Tangshi Gorge, Qujiang Liuyin, Banner Pavilion, Beauty Xing, Taohuawu, Zhuyu Terrace, etc. These scenic spots are mainly built on Furong Lake and are distributed around Furong Lake. Ziyun Building is the center of the entire scenic area.

The Emperor Cultural District is represented by the landmark building in the park-Ziyun Building, which displays the Tang Dynasty imperial style of "the form and spirit rise into the purple clouds, and the world obeys the emperor's heart." The Ziyun Building in history is reportedly built in the 14th year of Kaiyuan in the Tang Dynasty. Every time the Qujiang Conference, Emperor Ming of the Tang Dynasty would climb this building to enjoy songs and dances, give banquets to his ministers and enjoy fun with the people. The Ziyun Building rebuilt based on historical data is located in the center of the current park and is one of the most important imitation Tang buildings in the park.

Shaanxi History Museum: China's first large-scale modern museum

Shaanxi History Museum is located on the northwest side of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an. It was built in 1983 and was completed and opened on June 20, 1991. It is China's first large-scale modern national museum. Its predecessor can be traced back to the Shaanxi "Quangong Exhibition House" established in 1909. Its completion marks a new milestone in China's museum industry.

This museum building is a Tang-style building complex with "central hall and four corners". The primary and secondary areas are orderly, with high and low, and the momentum is vigorous and solemn, integrating national traditions, local characteristics and the spirit of the times. The museum area covers an area of 65000 square meters. The construction area is 55600 square meters, the cultural relics reservoir area is 8000 square meters, the exhibition hall area is 11000 square meters, and the collection is 1717950 cultural relics (groups). From the simple stone tools used in the initial stage of ancient humans to various artifacts in social life before 1840, the time span is more than one million years. Cultural relics are not only large in number and variety, but also of high quality and wide in value. Among them, the bronze wares of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties are exquisite. The pottery figurines of the past dynasties are in various shapes. The gold and silver wares of the Han and Tang Dynasties are unique in the country, and the wall paintings of Tang tombs are unparalleled in the world. It can be described as a dazzling array of high-quality products.

The exterior of the Shaanxi History Museum building highlights the style of the Tang Dynasty. Chang 'an has been the capital of emperors since ancient times. Historically, thirteen feudal dynasties including the Zhou, Qin, Han, Sui and Tang dynasties established their capitals here. It has rich cultural relics on the ground and underground, forming Shaanxi's unique historical and cultural features.

The human-faced fish-patterned basin from the Neolithic Era, the bird-covered gourd pot from the Warring States Period, and the painted kneeling and shooting figurines from the Qin Dynasty. Compared with the terracotta warriors, the face, neck, and armor of the terracotta warriors can be seen more closely. The military charms of the Qin Dynasty: Du Hufu, as well as the Duguxin polyhedral coal essence seal from the Western Wei Dynasty, the exquisite Tang Dynasty red gold walking dragon, and the Tang Dynasty grape flower and bird pattern silver sachet that attracts girls 'attention.

Big Wild Goose Pagoda: Sunset shines on mercy

The location of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda belongs to Xi'an New District, with a high level of construction and consumption. You can see the Westin Hotel opposite it. Most of the luxury brand hotels in Xi'an are concentrated in the new district. I heard from locals that there is a bar street not far from the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. It is renovated on the basis of old buildings and has a taste at night. There are also many large shopping malls and supermarkets around it. I recommend a cost-effective restaurant nearby-the first place in the world. It is a local chain restaurant with local characteristics and good service. Moreover, you can find a variety of local specialties at relatively affordable prices.

The Big Wild Goose Pagoda in my first impression was just a historic tower, but after I really went there, I fell in love with it. The environment under the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is beautiful. In spring, there are cherry blossoms, red and yellow ones. There are magnolias, and the forest is dyed in autumn. If it is from the end of October to November, you can still see the golden ginkgo, and the sun sets in the west, making it even more tranquil.

In terms of appearance, the appearance of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is not as beautiful as the towers in the south. It does not have the meticulous beauty of carving. This Big Wild Goose Pagoda made of blue brick has a rough appearance in the northwest.

Tickets:

Only big tickets are taken out in the scenic area. If you want to climb the tower, you have to buy tickets and queue up separately inside. Student tickets are available for large tickets.

The middle corridor is covered with bluestone slabs, and the smooth ground reflects the shadows of people coming and going. Walking on the bluestone slab road, it is as if you are also a Buddhist believer coming for a pilgrimage. Although you have no religious beliefs, every time you face towers, temples, etc., a pure place where incense is rich and quiet and transcendental. The pious heart silently prays for the well-being of his family and himself, and even his heart has been looking for a place that is extraordinary and isolated from the world.

The creeper climbing the wall, with vines and branches covered in ancient pavilions and buildings, has a tenacious vitality growing hard, extending from the base of the wall to the eaves, like a green coat decorating the single-tone brick wall. The business is full of business.

When you come to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, you must climb the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Just like when you come to Wuhan without looking at the Yellow Crane Tower, you only watch and wander at the gate. In order to protect the safety of this square loft-style tower with brick imitation wood, tourists entering the tower must go through strict security checks. Just like taking trains and subways, suspicious liquids must be inspected before passing through, and tickets are sold separately. Although there are long queues, tickets purchased separately, and strict security inspections, those who climb the mountain and look far away. It is also very meaningful to explain the mysterious illusions in the tower.

Entering the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, there are stone tablets and lettering in different fonts and forms at the entrance. Through the glass cover, you can vaguely see the imprints of the ancients on the mottled stone tablets. As time goes by, most of the writing has become blurred, but it is also possible to guess some content and meaning from a single sentence. Compared with the Yellow Crane Tower, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is relatively crowded, with a common staircase. When there are many people, it is steep and crowded, and the lights in the tower are relatively dim. You must pay attention to safety. Starting from the first floor, there are four viewing windows in the east, west, north and south. As the height increases, the view of each floor is different, overlooking the entire new district from 360 degrees. In addition to viewing the scenery on each floor, the tower also displays rare and precious treasures. The second floor houses the Buddha statue of Sakyamuni, which is regarded as a treasure for walking. In addition to some precious treasures, there are also some of the walls used to build the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Fengduo hanging at the eaves of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Thick and dense, making Tang bricks with exquisite craftsmanship. Overlooking the entire street view of Qujiang New District, due to the protection of tourists in the scenic area, the viewing points on each floor are inlaid with glass windows, leaving a small opening where visitors can reach out for photos.

Some of these creeper climbing down the wall, some of which are only dead branches and old vines, traveled with the Big Wild Goose Pagoda from the dynasty when Xuanzang learned scriptures to the modern era. The walls are filled with the vicissitudes of time. I occasionally look for this quiet corner, the afterglow of the setting sun shines on the mottled old wall, silently counting the years.

The pedestrian street outside the Big Wild Goose Pagoda Scenic Area is particularly beautiful at night, quite Japanese romance and dreamy. The beautiful scenery at this moment also depends on the spring-like flowers. Such a beautiful night is rare to see. The scenery I see is more beautiful than the photos, but unfortunately there is no tripod to record the beauty at that time.

The large music fountain square is surrounded by locals and tourists from all over the world. The scene is very spectacular. Pay attention to the frequency and time of the performance, both day and night. If you miss the time, you will have to wait for a long time for the next performance.

Arriving at the RV campsite, it is the most pleasant thing to have a barbecue and beer with your fellow friends. Chat and heart-to-heart, sleep with the stars on your head, and have a good night's sleep, which is different from the unforgettable experience of previous travel.

Entering the World Cultural Heritage: Terracotta Warriors

The two gates of Xi'an Terracotta Warriors Scenic Area can only be entered or exited, and there is no turning back. It is also a means to promote the development of tourism commercialization. It is exported out of the scenic area and into the commercial pedestrian street. Eating, playing and entertainment are integrated. Some are still under construction and decoration. Compared to the only canteen in Xi'an Terracotta Warriors Scenic Area, expensive drinks and snacks are available. After leaving the scenic area and entering this food district, various local specialty snacks and fast food restaurants can make people feast. And the price is relatively reasonable.

Xi'an Terracotta Warriors is worthy of being the eighth largest heritage in the world. Only by personally seeing it can you feel so shocked and amazed. In 1974, local farmers discovered this amazing and large-scale underground pit. In 2016, Exhibition Hall 1 (the largest and relatively complete), Exhibition Hall 2 (the smallest), and Exhibition Hall 3 (the largest and relatively incomplete) were opened to the public.

Number one:

The entire pit is rectangular, mainly showing an army composed of chariots, infantry, pottery horses, etc. After hundreds of years of turmoil and changes, as well as changes in the terrain and nature, many terracotta warriors are incomplete and overwhelmed, and basically do not have the color when they were made., all have varying degrees of corrosion and destruction.

According to textual research, Qin Shihuang built more than 8000 terracotta warriors at that time. The most amazing thing is that there are no identical ones, and each one is unique. The restoration work is arduous and lengthy, even taking several years.

The open restoration room of the Qinshihuang Mausoleum Museum allows the audience to have a close understanding of the process of cultural relics protection and restoration, as well as the nature and humanities of the design by showing the time and work of the restoration personnel. The tools and equipment required for restoration, the steps taken, and every piece, no matter how big or small, is labeled. The incomplete fragments we see now will wait until we come back to the Terracotta Warriors a few years later, and we will see the uniform infantry camp. There is the one restored back then.

Number two:

The lights inside Pit No. 2 are also relatively dim. Walking around, you will find many pits of large and small, but many of them are being excavated and restored. What is more distinctive is that the terracotta warriors, generals, kneeling terracotta warriors, carriages, etc. displayed in the glass windows can clearly see the armor, wearing accessories, demeanor and posture of the characters. You can carefully examine them from bottom to top. Some places have been damaged, and the entire terracotta warriors body needs iron support. It is said that the carriage reproduces the real carriage and horse used by Qin Shihuang, but it is only reduced several times, but the style is the same.

Number three:

Pit No. 3 is considered to be a headquarters for the entire army, so compared to Pit No. 1 and Pit No. 2, compared with Mini, there are many headless terracotta warriors.

Catering:

There is no accommodation in the Terracotta Warriors Scenic Area, so there is barely a small coffee shop. The things inside are also expensive. Coffee starts at 25 yuan, and it is very stingy to make a cup of hot water. The drink is coffee, and there are some snacks such as biscuits for sale. The weather during the Qingming Festival is cold and cold. Putting aside the noble and humble, this coffee shop brings warmth to people in the cold early spring. It is recommended that friends who come to the Terracotta Warriors should reserve food and water. If they can insist on leaving the scenic area, there are many restaurants outside the exit that many small gardens in the Big Wild Goose Pagoda are planted with this kind of pink cherry blossoms, and the environment is greener and better managed than here in Qinglong Temple.

Explanation:

The ticket office at the entrance is opposite the place where there is a rental guide, and there are also many people with guide cards asking for rent guides. They shout,"If you don't hire a guide, you can't understand the Terracotta Warriors, it's a waste to come..." There is a deposit and fee for the narrator. You can just return it at the exit with the deposit receipt issued. It is easy to use and the price is relatively moderate. If there are two people, I have proved that the content in many commentators and the narrator is basically the same. I won't comment too much here. Depending on your own needs, choose to rent the narrator, hire the commentator, or not to use it.

mhm About Food

It is recommended to rent one with headphones on the left and right. It is enough for two people to plug in one ear each. Both of them can plug in the sound except the narrator, and you can't hear anything.

Xi'an has a lot of delicious food. In addition to Huimin Street, you can find food shops such as Roujiamo and noodle shops in the alleys. Among them, I would like to share with you some of the most worthwhile delicacies:

1. Roujiamo: There are no side dishes such as diced green peppers that you usually eat. It is just real meat + mold. The meat does not need to be chewed too much. The meat is stewed very badly and has moderate salinity. In short, it is very satisfying and very delicious Roujiamo.

2. The red oil dough sheet (vermicelli) looks hot and has a strong taste, but after tasting it, I told everyone that it only looks hot, but it is actually slightly spicy. The top is topped with shredded cucumber and soybean sprouts, which is a refreshing dish. The vermicelli (vermicelli) is served with a delicious meaty roujiamo.

3. Biangbiang noodles, although it is the situation of noodle mixing, there are sufficient ingredients and vegetables. When eaten in the mouth, all kinds of salty, fragrant and slightly spicy flavors are immersed in the noodles. The noodles are wide and long, strong and chewy, especially delicious, with various small ingredients such as spinach, dried beans, and beans.

4. Rice cake, like jujube rice dumplings, is wrapped in layers of dates. Eating the whole serving will feel that there are fewer dates, so you can add more to make you early.

5. Sprinkle spicy pepper. It is very oily and spicy. It is only slightly spicy. It does not have the aroma of spicy pepper in the southwest, but it also tastes moderate. It can be given as a companion gift to relatives and friends.

6. Mutton steamed buns: One of the must-eat delicacies when coming to Xi'an. Xi'an's delicacies are very hard, and most of them are meat. I like the milky white soup made from mutton steamed buns most, coupled with some spicy oil. The taste is really too fresh.

[About Transportation]

motorhome tour

I chose SAIC Chase's automatic transmission RV for this trip. You can drive with C photos. The RV is fully equipped, has large space, can sit and lie freely, and has automatic transmission. The two-day and one-night trip includes one night camping experience on Seoul Lake. Open the window and the scenery.

1. Train

For about 3 or 4 years, I have to go to Jiangnan every year during the Qingming Festival. Jiangsu has become a place where I often come and go. I have a special liking for Jiangnan water towns and small bridges and flowing water families, but I always want to go more in my limited time. Go around and see the unknown world. Coincidentally, there is a high-speed train directly from Beijing to Xi'an, with no stopping stops in between. It takes more than 5 hours to reach it. Even if it is a weekend for two days, I can easily enjoy Xi'an.

Xi'an North Station VS Xi'an Station

Xi'an Station: Huancheng North Road (near Jiefang Road, beside the ancient city wall) in the New town area has convenient transportation and extends in all directions. However, the surroundings of the station are very messy and disorderly. Xi'an Station is not large. There is a Tour No. 5 to the Terracotta Warriors nearby. The bus to Xianyang Airport is also nearby, which can be reached in 5 to 10 minutes on foot.

Shangjian Gate Qinjian Gate: Xi'an Railway Station is facing Shangjian Gate and Qinjian Gate of the ancient city wall. You can overlook Xi'an Railway Station by visiting the ancient city wall around the city. Crossing the city wall is the main road of Jiefang Road. It is not very convenient to take a taxi in the railway station square. Many drivers are unwilling to work here. There are video cameras here, and the parking time cannot be too long.

Jiefang Road: Crossing the city wall is Jiefang Road. The flagship store of "Qinzhi Roujiamo" mentioned later is on this main road. The store is eye-catching and easy to find.

bus

Bus: (Below are some bus routes that pass through major scenic spots)

Special note: There are many bus stops around the railway station, which can cover almost all the attractions in Xi'an. Although the stop sign is called the "Railway Station" station, it is distributed at several stops around the railway station. Some are on Jiefang Road, some are inside Shangjianmen, and some are on other roads and intersections.

Road 41

Railway Institute-Railway Station (via Qinglong Temple, Municipal Party School, Big Wild Goose Pagoda)

2. Airport

Xianyang Airport's planning and services are relatively complete. In addition to walking a long way to pick up luggage, when you exit the arrival hall, there will be signs telling you to go to the airport bus ticketing hall. On one side is long-distance (destined outside Xi'an City), and on the other side is long-distance buses in the city.

Airport-Xi'an Railway Station (Longhai Hotel) PS: On Jiefang Road, 10 minutes walk to Xi'an Railway Station

Average departure time: 30 minutes

The ticket is 25 yuan per person. You can scan the ticket and get on the bus. If you don't have a seat number, you can sit on the bus and leave when you are full. It took about 1 hour. It took more than 10 minutes to gamble from the railway station to cross Shangjianmen. Longhai Hotel is on Jiefang Road and is also a cost-effective hotel. I saw the big banner saying a special room of more than 200 yuan per room.

3. Tickets

Tickets to several major scenic spots in Xi'an are expensive, with student tickets all available. Adult tickets can be purchased on the Internet for a few yuan cheaper.

1. Big Wild Goose Pagoda: 55 yuan

(It's just a big ticket, not including climbing the tower. Climbing the tower: 30 yuan)

2. Terracotta Warriors: 150 yuan
