When I was a child, my friend told me that the places he wanted to visit most were the Great Wall and the Terracotta Warriors;
Every place here is a continuation of Chinese civilization and a source of pride for us.
Nowadays, when we grow up, we have all realized our childhood wishes one by one.
Last year, we climbed the Great Wall and witnessed the first military project in ancient times.
Last week, we went to see the Terracotta Warriors and witnessed one of the top ten ancient tombs in the world.
We chose to self-drive a RV to start a two-day and one-night trip to Xi'an
I went to experience the Tang Dynasty Furong Garden, which represents the prosperous age of the "Tang Dynasty"
I went to see the Big Wild Goose Pagoda designed under the supervision of Xuanzang
Went to the Shaanxi History Museum, which has the most people
At night, we also had a BBQ at the camp.
Friends got together and fulfilled their childhood dream.
Next, I will share with you my casual trip on the weekend;
Code words are not easy, please do not carry them.
Day 1: Arrive in Xi'an at night
Day 2: Tang Dynasty Furong Garden-Shaanxi History Museum-Big Wild Goose Pagoda
Day 3: Qin Shihuang Terracotta Warriors Museum-Hangzhou
Xi'an is one of the oldest cities in my country. It has experienced the rise and fall of 13 dynasties and has been established for more than 3000 years. Some people say that Xi'an is like a huge museum. Everything here is full of traces of history. History can be seen everywhere here. There are ancient city walls, terracotta warriors and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
Xi'an has a very nice name in history. It is called Chang' an, which was the capital of the Tang Dynasty. Xi'an has an inseparable relationship with the Tang Dynasty. Today, Xi'an still has many ancient buildings from the Tang Dynasty, the most famous of which is the ancient city wall. Xi'an has also built many tourist attractions about the Tang Dynasty, such as Tang Dynasty Furong Garden, Tang Dynasty Sleepless City, Big Wild Goose Pagoda and other attractions.
We can't imagine the prosperous times of the Tang Dynasty back then, but now we can see the "prosperous times of the Tang Dynasty" in the night view of Xi'an. The lights are shining and the crowds are like waves of people. Although these are all reduced versions of the magnificent scenes of the Tang Dynasty, the most representative of which is the Tang Dynasty Furong Garden.
The Tang Dynasty Furong Garden is the first large-scale royal garden cultural theme park in my country to fully display the style of the Tang Dynasty. It was built north of the Tang Dynasty Furong Garden ruins. The historical area of Furong Garden was 7000 acres, but now it is only one-seventh of its size, that is, 1000 acres, of which the water area accounts for 300 acres.
At first, Furong Garden was a royal forbidden garden in the Qin Dynasty and was called Yichun Garden. In the third year of the founding of the emperor, Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty moved the capital and felt that the previous name was unlucky, so he changed his name to Furong Garden. By the Tang Dynasty, the scale of construction here was not only expanded, but also added a lot of cultural connotations. For example, the famous literary stories in history: Qujiang Liujiu, Xingyuan Pass Banquet, Yanta Titles, Le You Climbing and other famous stories are all related to this place.
The glory of this place once became the only public garden in Chang 'an City. After the rule of Zhenguan of Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, it laid the foundation for the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty's culture. However, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty carried out a large-scale expansion of this place, making it an unprecedented grand sight.
With the destruction of the Great Wall at the end of the Tang Dynasty, the urban garden buildings were also completely destroyed. Of course, the Furong Garden was inevitable. Only the ruins and broken walls were left here. The wood used for construction was transported to Luoyang. Furong Garden was devastated by history, and it disappeared from people's vision. The once glorious history has now become a legend.
Thousands of years later, in order to restore this period of history, Datang Furong Garden invested 1.3 billion yuan and spent two years completing and opening it in 2004. Although its current area is only one-seventh of the previous one, it is still very spectacular. Tang Furong Garden is now divided into a total of 14 landscape cultural areas, demonstrating the spiritual outlook of the Tang Dynasty in many aspects. Among them, the landmark building in the scenic area is the Ziyun Tower, which displays the style of the Tang Dynasty emperors of "the shape and spirit rise into the Ziyun scenery, and the world obeys the heart of the emperor."
Ziyun Tower is a basically complete restoration of the Tang Dynasty building based on historical records. There are a total of four floors here, each floor displaying a different Tang imperial culture. The first floor is the sculptures, murals of the rule of Zhenguan, as well as the restored models of inheritance; the second floor is the banquet given by Emperor Ming of the Tang Dynasty to his ministers, and the large-scale colored sculptures and group carvings came from all directions to worship; the third floor is a place where songs and dances are performed, and the fourth floor is a museum.
Once upon a time, Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty held a money fair in Ziyun Tower. Only officials above the fifth rank could come in and steal money. These gold coins would not be circulated in the market and could only be collected and used. Today, these gold coins are still preserved in the Shaanxi History Museum, and there is also a huge map of Chang 'an on the square.
Furong Garden also has the world's largest water curtain movie at night, and the performance venue is on the lake in front of the Guanlan Terrace of Ziyun Building. There are not only performances here at night, but also many performances during the day. I suggest you check the time on the official website in advance, so that you don't miss the performances. In addition, boating on the lake is also a good choice, where you can see the scenery of Furong Garden on the lake.
Nowadays, Datang Furong Garden has free reservations starting from August 1st, so have you been here before? Want to come and see what the "Tang Dynasty" looked like when it was prosperous?
The museum in every city carries the past and present lives of the city. Every time I visit a city, I always like to go to museums and experience cultural relics and history from thousands of years. During this trip to Xi'an, I found that the Shaanxi History Museum here is the one with the most people among the museums I have ever been to.
Shaanxi History Museum is my country's first large-scale modern national-level museum. It is known as the "Pearl of an Ancient Capital and Treasure House of China". Its architectural style also highlights the style of the Tang Dynasty and has Shaanxi's unique historical and cultural features. Every exhibit here is very exquisite, many of which are national treasure-level exhibits. Come and take a walk here and experience Shaanxi's history and culture.
At first, the predecessor of this museum was the Shaanxi Province History Museum established in June 1933. It was a very small museum before. When the Prime Minister came to inspect, he found that it did not conform to Shaanxi's spiritual style and changed its name to Shaanxi History Museum. It was rebuilt in 1986 and officially opened in 1991. It was recognized by UNESCO as a world-class museum.
The geographical location of the rebuilt Shaanxi History Museum is very superior. It is on the tourist route, surrounded by attractions such as the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Tang Dynasty Furong Garden, and the transportation is also very convenient.
The Shaanxi History Museum was designed by Mr. Zhang Jinqiu, a master designer. This group of buildings not only highlights the style of the Tang Dynasty, but also reflects the broad and glorious spiritual style of the Tang Dynasty. It expresses the spatial composition characteristics of the traditional Chinese palace building "Tai Chi in the center, all directions" and the oriental philosophy of the universe that "transcends the image, derives from the universe" that has been infiltrated into the Chinese people's spatial consciousness for thousands of years.
Shaanxi History Museum is a comprehensive historical museum. You can enter the museum by making an appointment with your ID card. There are two exhibition halls here that require tickets to visit. One is the Tang Dynasty Heritage Exhibition, which only costs 30 yuan. This should be the exhibition with the most people in the entire museum. When visiting, we have to wait until the team in front has finished browsing before we can come forward to visit; The other exhibition is the Tang Dynasty Mural Treasures Museum, but the entrance fee here is a bit expensive, 270 yuan, and the crowd is very small, and many tourists stop at the price.
The Tang Dynasty Heritage Exhibition displays the exhibits in two pottery urns and a jar unearthed in Hejiacun kiln in October 1970. Although there are only three containers of exhibits here, more than 1000 precious gold and silver utensils are buried inside. Moreover, experts said that it was very difficult for them to restore these exhibits that were taken out.
We all know that the Tang Dynasty was the most powerful era in ancient China. These exhibits unearthed this time. According to experts 'estimates, there are 38.3 million yuan, equivalent to the taxes paid by 1.5 million men to the Tang government in one year. Among them is the "treasure of the town" beast head agate cup from the Shaanxi History Museum.
Although we didn't go to the Tang Dynasty Mural Treasures Museum, we listened to the tour guide and found that there were more than 20 murals from Tang tombs, nearly 600, 18 of which were rated as national treasure cultural relics, and 82 were rated as first-class cultural relics. There are three free exhibition halls in the museum and two fee-paying exhibition halls: the Tang Dynasty Mural Treasures Museum and the Tang Dynasty Heritage Exhibition. In addition, various exhibitions are held from time to time.
The cultural relics of the Shaanxi History Museum are of very high value. It was evaluated and graded in 1996. 762 cultural relics were rated as first-class cultural relics, of which 18 were rated as national treasure cultural relics, and two were listed as the first batch of cultural relics for exhibition prohibited from going abroad.
There are several cultural relics in the museum that have been displayed on TV "National Treasures", and many people know about their existence. When I came to the Shaanxi History Museum this time, I happened to see these precious cultural relics and remembered their past history., I learned more about them.
Regarding Xi'an, I only knew that there was a scenic spot called the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, but I didn't know that the Big Wild Goose Pagoda was originally inside the Dacien Temple. It was really a tourist spot with a Buddhist pagoda that was even more popular than a temple.
Xuanzang of Tang Dynasty in Journey to the West, which grew up with us as a child, is not a fictional story or character, but was written by Wu Chengen based on the experiences of Master Xuanzang. These experiences can be seen in the Xuanzang Memorial Hall of Dacien Temple, and the memorial hall here is also the largest Xuanzang Memorial Hall in the country.
This temple was built in the 22nd year of Zhenguan, on the site of Jingjue Temple built by Emperor Daowu of the Northern Wei Dynasty. The temple was built by the then Crown Prince Li Zhi in memory of his mother, Empress Wende Zhangsun. It has a history of 1350 years. This Dacien Temple is large in scale, but it has experienced many wars. The Dacien Temple we see today was built in the second year of Chenghua in the Ming Dynasty.
This was the most famous and magnificent Buddhist temple in Chang 'an City in the Tang Dynasty. It was also the largest temple at that time. It is said to be half of the size of Jinchangfang at that time. As one of the three major translation sites in Chang 'an in the Tang Dynasty and the birthplace of Weishizong, one of the eight Buddhist sects in China, it plays an important role in the history of the spread of Buddhism.
Come to the square in front of Dacien Temple, where there is a statue of Xuanzang. After checking in and entering the park, you will come to the Bell Tower. There is a big bell in the Bell Tower. It is the morning bell of Yanta cast in the 27th year of Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty. It is one of the famous eight scenic spots in Guanzhong. Students from the Tang Dynasty would come to the Cien Tower after passing the Jinshi examination. Title.
Climbing the steps, you will arrive at the Daxiong Hall, which is the main hall of the temple and the main hall. There are also several halls on both sides of the Daxiong Hall, dedicated to different Buddha statues. The Jialan Hall next to the Daxiong Hall is dedicated to the Bodhisattva who protects the land of Jialan.
Behind the Daxiong Hall is a Tusita Palace, where Maitreya Bodhisattva is enshrined. It is said that Maitreya Bodhisattva is in Tusita Heaven. When the time is right, it will reveal itself to the world and change according to fate.
Behind Doushuai Palace is the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which is the main building in Dacien Temple. The Big Wild Goose Pagoda was designed by Xuanzang himself to preserve the scriptures and relics that Xuanzang brought back from India. This pagoda has been a landmark building in Chang 'an since its completion. It is also the earliest and largest existing brick pagoda of the Tang Dynasty square pavilions in my country today.
The Big Wild Goose Pagoda is as high as 21 floors. You need to buy extra tickets to climb the tower. Especially when the sun shines on the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in the afternoon, it is golden. This thousand-year-old building has experienced countless wind and rain, but it is still in front of our eyes. I heard that there was a big earthquake in the Ming Dynasty, and basically all the buildings were destroyed, but the Big Wild Goose Pagoda still stands tall.
In ancient times, one could not climb the pagoda at will. Only with the approval of the emperor could climb the pagoda. At that time, Bai Juyi climbed the Big Wild Goose Pagoda after winning the championship in one fell swoop and wrote the poem "The youngest of the seventeen people under the title of Cien Pagoda". He is also the most famous among many people who climbed the pagoda, and he is also a poet we are familiar with.
Behind the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is the Xuanzang Memorial Hall. This is a building in imitation of the Tang Dynasty and consists of three courtyards: the Memorial Hall of the Intermediate People's Court, the Dongyuan Exhibition Hall, and the Xiyuan Lecture Hall. The walls of the houses on both sides are filled with paintings of some of the stories of Xuanzang's experience when he went to India. It allows us to intuitively feel his difficulties back then. Many of the stories we saw in Journey to the West were written based on his experience.
Dacien Temple is located in the middle of the busy city. The incense here is extremely strong. It is not only a temple, but also a symbol of Xi'an. It also appears on the logo of the city's image and is a place where everyone comes to Xi'an. Tourists will come.
Xi'an's night lights are particularly brilliant. A friend said that he likes Xi'an's night scenery better than the day. Xi'an's lights are very shining at night, illuminating the entire street as if it is daytime, and it is still colorful. There is the world's largest fountain in the Big Wild Goose Pagoda Square, and the popular Internet tumbler lady performs in the North Square.
The north square has the central axis of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda flavor, with a fountain waterway in the middle, and various landscapes on both sides. The North Square not only has the largest fountain square in Asia, but also the largest sculpture square in Asia. There are two 100-meter-long group carvings, more than 40 ground embossed, and 8 groups of character sculptures.
Every night, the Seven O'clock Square is covered with people. Fortunately, the height of the fountain is more than 100 meters, which can be seen by the crowd standing behind. If you want to watch it up close, you have to go early. We arrived ten minutes early and were already on the periphery. The entire performance was about 10 minutes later. There was also a narration that under different lights, the fountain took on different looks, which was very beautiful. Moreover, the eight-level frequency conversion square array in the eight-level stacked pool in the fountain is the largest square array in the world.
The Big Wild Goose Pagoda has two squares in the north and south. The fountain is performed in the north square, and the square where you check in to enter the Daci 'en Temple is the south square. The altitude difference between the two squares is 9 meters, which gradually increases from north to south. This is the worship of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is divided into nine levels, each step being 5 levels, which means the meaning of the Ninth Five Supreme. These buildings are very rigorous.
Many tourists will walk to the Tang Dynasty Sleepless City next to the South Square after the fountain performance. Among them, they will pass by a cultural and creative market, which sells some small objects and a lot of delicious food.
The trees on both sides are decorated with small star-like lights, and you can also see the Big Wild Goose Pagoda next to it. You can follow the crowd to the City that Never Sleeps, or you can stay here for a while. These are all good places to enjoy the night view of Xi'an.
There were once only seven miracles in the world, but since French President Jacques Chirac came to Xi'an to visit the Qin Shi Huang Terracotta Army Museum, there have been eight miracles in the world, which has also made the world aware of the existence of the Terracotta Army and attracted many tourists from home and abroad.
Terracotta warriors are a form of ancient tombs. People who don't know about the terracotta warriors may think about whether they were buried by real people. I used to have this question, but after coming here, I witnessed the restoration of the terracotta warriors with my own eyes. The tour guide explained, so I learned more about the terracotta warriors.
Qin Shihuang felt that he would have whatever he had in his lifetime and after death, so he built his own tomb since he ascended the throne. It is said that each of the pottery figurines he was buried with looked different. Qin Shihuang spent 37 years building his own tomb, and allowed his son to continue building it until his death. The construction lasted as long as 39 years.
Since the Yin and Shang Dynasties, human martyrdom has been a cruel and barbaric funeral system. Qin Shihuang also wanted to use this system. However, with the persuasion of ministers and social changes, he gave up the idea of using real people to bury people and turned to using wooden figurines and pottery figurines instead of human sacrifices.
In 206 BC, the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang suffered its first and greatest disaster and experienced a fire. It was not until 1974 that the place came to light again. Experts spent five years repairing and mining. It was not until 1975 that it was open to the public. To this day, it is still a place that every tourist visiting Xi'an will visit.
Come and visit the Qin Shihuang Terracotta Warriors Museum. There are three Terracotta Warriors pits and an exhibition hall. The largest of these pits is No. 1 pit, which contains more than 8000 terracotta warriors and horses. Moreover, this is also the earliest pit discovered and the one with the most tourists.
The terracotta warriors 'pit is an underground tunnel-type civil structure building. A 5-meter-long pit is dug in the ground, and then parallel soil partitions are built in the middle of the pit. Wooden columns are arranged on both sides of the wall, and the pillars are placed on the horizontal columns. Then, the horizontal columns and earth walls are densely covered with shed wood. A layer of reed is laid on the shed wood, and a layer of loess is laid on the reeds, and then this is the top of the pit.
In No. 1 Terracotta Warriors Pit, not only can you see countless terracotta warriors, but you can also learn about the restoration of the terracotta warriors. There are still many unrepaired terracotta warriors in Pit 1 waiting for experts to repair them bit by bit.
The top of the pit can be seen in pit No. 2, because pit No. 2 is a pit that has not been excavated. The terracotta warriors were colorful when they were unearthed, but because the conditions and technology were not available, they evaporated after 24 hours and became the color of today's clay. Therefore, in order to maintain the color of the terracotta warriors and the progress of future technology, No. 2 pit was not developed.
There are also several well-preserved terracotta warriors on display in the No. 2 pit. One of them was the only well-preserved terracotta warriors found when all the terracotta warriors were unearthed: the kneeling terracotta warriors. According to experts, it may be because he was kneeling, and the soil on his head did not hit him when it fell down, so it was very complete. Moreover, there was still a red layer left on the armor behind him, which was very precious.
In addition to kneeling and shooting figurines, there are also terracotta warriors with different official positions such as standing shooting figurines, cavalry figurines, high-ranking military officials, and literary figurines. Each of their terracotta warriors is vividly carved, and even the stitches on the soles of the terracotta warriors are carefully carved by craftsmen.
Pit No. 3 is a concave pit. According to experts, the layout and structure inside may be a command post because there are officers and soldiers guarding it, and this pit is the only pit that has not been burned by fire. There are black clay after being burned on the walls of pits No. 1 and No. 2.
The last copper chariots and horses exhibition hall displays the first and second copper chariots and horses. They are known as the crown of bronze and are world-famous. They are amazing at the craftsmanship of two thousand years ago, and may not even be made today. Among them, the No. 1 bronze chariot is a standing chariot, and the No. 2 bronze chariot is an An-chariot. The original No. 1 is currently on display at the World Expo, so what we see is a replica.
After visiting the Qin Terracotta Warriors Museum, French President Jacques Chirac not only said that it was the eighth wonder of the world, but he also said that if he did not see the Qin terracotta warriors, he would not have come to China. This is a representative of our Chinese civilization, a major progress in ancient history, and the pride of our nation. It is praised as one of the top ten rare treasures of ancient tombs in the world and attracted more than 200 dignitaries to visit it.
This trip is a self-driving trip for us. Everyone knows the benefits of self-driving. You can go wherever you want and park whenever you want. It is very convenient. The capacity of the RV is larger than that of an ordinary vehicle and can hold a lot of things. Moreover, we also had a BBQ at night, which was very happy.
If you want to sleep in the RV, you can also choose from toilets, water, tables, and beds. You can drive to the camp or stay in a hotel. The biggest advantage of an RV is that it allows friends to gather together. An RV can accommodate 6 people, including the driver. This can accommodate more people than an ordinary car. This is still very suitable for friends traveling together.
For Xi'an, it can be a casual weekend trip, or you can set aside a weekend to visit Xi'an, and you can also climb the surrounding Huashan Mountains. Huaqing Pond and Terracotta Warriors take a day, because it is no longer in the city. It takes two days to climb Huashan. Don't miss Xi'an at night.
