Treasure delicacies hidden in the golden bridge. The food chapter appears in chapter 4.

Due to the excessive content, this article will be divided into 4 chapters. There are no overly exaggerated praises, but more about recording the pitfalls during the trip, aiming to provide different playing ideas, and please travel friends choose carefully.

2020 is a magical year. As indigenous people in Wuhan, we have had a very difficult and long spring. A somewhat bleak heat, a golden autumn that gradually regained vitality, and the coldest winter in recent years. For our family of three who have bid farewell to two relatives one after another, 2020 is even more difficult.

So after everything was settled, we set aside about a week and made up our mind to go to Xi'an once.

My husband's idea for going to Xi'an is very simple: to visit the tomb.

It is said that every place has a place to look at, such as the girl in Beijing, the bridge head in Suzhou, and the head of Shanghai. When you arrive in Xi'an, it will definitely be a grave. As the most influential ancient capital in history, it has an unparalleled tomb complex. I once doubted whether the "enrichment" of Xi'an's commercial cluster was related to hundreds of large-scale tomb complexes occupying too much available land.

Although I personally prefer natural landscapes to cultural landscapes, because I brought a 5-year-old child with me and happened to catch such a cold winter, for safety reasons, we gave up the trip to Huashan Mountain and Hukou Waterfall and chose the surrounding cemeteries or city museums and temples of large and small, starting a journey about life and death.

Part 1 About preparations before going

In terms of travel strategies:

The ones most used for reference include Ctrip (ordering explanations, viewing the operating hours of scenic spots, etc.), cheap tours, Hornet's Nest (looking at other people's travel strategies) and Station B (mainly used to read food recommendations). Book tickets for Ctrip and book a beautiful group.

Another point, if you are pursuing high-quality tourism (food, accommodation, cultural background, etc.), you can first go and finish the relevant books. It is difficult for personal guides and website descriptions to deeply discuss the connotation of a city. There are some websites or public accounts dedicated to tourism that will publish separate city-themed books, which will make the reading experience much better. For example, I happened to see a tweet from Lonely Planet about Xi'an before setting off. Boy, the text and accompanying pictures are really professional!

In terms of tourism equipment:

1. I checked the weather forecast in advance and found that when the temperature was minus 10 degrees, everyone brought two sets of outerwear (one down jacket and one cotton coat), two sets of underwear, and four sets of underwear and socks (two pairs thick and two pairs thin), two pairs of shoes (one pair for warmth and the other for comfort to walk), hats, gloves and scarves (it turns out that the gloves are really inconvenient and have not been used at all). Others, including wiring strips, notebooks, sealed pockets, disposable alcohol gel, etc., are all very practical. What I regret is that I didn't bring sunglasses, because the weather was very good when we went, and everything under the clear sky vividly showed me what it means to be "as bright as day, blinding your eyes"... Everyone must remember to check the weather forecast in advance when traveling and choose equipment according to your own habits.

2. The hotel we stayed in has plumbing, the indoor temperature is quite high, and the coat we washed will dry in one day (if you travel for a long time in winter, I recommend you choose a hotel with laundry facilities and bring a small bottle of disinfectant to use with the laundry detergent.), but it is very embarrassing to sleep at night, because the quilt is very thick and covers it with heat but not cold. In the end, I took out the core of the quilt and put on a thin blanket and clothes before I managed to cope with it.

3. We are used to living in Wuhan and really can't adapt to the dryness of the north. The skin on my legs began to peel and itch on the first night I arrived there, and two days later it began to dry and painful. I changed from once a day to twice a day to applying facial mask essence... I finally stayed up until I went home-let alone, it would be fine once I returned to Wuhan. There will be such an obvious change. I think it may be related to water quality in addition to the strong wind and dryness. However, since the face is covered with water vapor, it has no effect. Physical protection is really the most effective. Babies who are afraid of dryness must bring good moisturizers and hand creams.

Travel preparation:

1. We choose to travel during the off-season tourist season. The scenic spots in Xi'an are very easy to make appointments. Basically, we can make appointments on the same day. However, if it is close to holidays, we still book insurance in advance. At present, except for some scenic spots in Xi'an that only accept cash or directly pay for scanning the code without tickets, most of the scenic spots in Xi'an basically buy tickets on public accounts, scan the code or swipe their ID card to enter the venue, which is safe and convenient. In addition, many scenic spots have entry requirements stating that children need to bring the original household registration booklet for free tickets, but we didn't use them when we went. All of my children (1.1m tall) were free of tickets for all the scenic spots we visited were not required to show any documents. As for the specific requirements for free tickets, you can directly read the descriptions of the scenic spots at Ctrip, and ask customer service if you are unclear. Their customer service replies are quite timely.

2. Due to the needs of epidemic prevention and control, the "Xi'an One Code Pass" on Alipay was opened before arriving in Xi'an, because Xi'an basically needs to scan the code for all occasions. When taking the subway, you can search for "Xi'an Electronic Metro Card" directly on Alipay, and when taking the bus, you must choose "Chang' an Electronic Card".

Coming and going transportation:

Considering that children on the high-speed rail do not need to buy tickets and we have enough time, we choose the high-speed rail both back and forth. Fortunately, during this sensitive period and the off-season of tourism, the full occupancy rate of the high-speed rail is really not high. The seat next to our seat is always empty (there is a display near the high-speed rail luggage rack that shows whether the seat is occupied, so you can check in advance whether the seat at the next station is occupied), so it is no problem to bring the children with you.

If you are traveling without children or alone, booking the air ticket price in advance is also quite advantageous, and you can still earn money when you add time costs. Haha, it depends on the personal choice.

Accommodation:

Since we are a parent-child tour, the daily schedule will not be too intense. After returning to the hotel, we needed to find something to do for the family, so we chose a B & B with a projection, washing machine, and heating. B & Bs will be more personalized and interesting than hotels, but the corresponding ones may also be less standardized. However, based on our consumption level, compared with B & Bs of the same price, hotels within 200 yuan are more cost-effective and satisfy our needs.

The B & B we chose was located on the office building at Exit A of Bell Tower Line 2. It was very convenient to catch the high-speed train by subway. The bus stop was 100 meters away from the hotel door. It was really convenient. Of course, the disadvantages include that the cleaning is not so clean (such as under the bed), the quilt and the heating environment are extremely incompatible, and the decoration is relatively old. But the value for money is there, what kind of bicycle do you want!

Regarding the choice of accommodation environment: Beilin District is quite prosperous, and the commercial district is relatively concentrated; there are many B & Bs near the Bell and Drum Tower in Lianhu District. If you want to eat food, it is recommended to choose near Sajinqiao (in order to eat a bite of fat man's cake, I walked from the Bell Tower to Sajinqiao early in the morning). On the main road of Zhenghuimin Street, the environment is noisy, the ground is greasy, and on the third, the delicious food is not here, and on the fourth, it is not close to buses and subways. Other business districts include Saiger Square, South Gate Waiwan, Century Square, etc. In short, tourism is the first priority to be located near the Bell Tower subway station, followed by various places with subways within the city walls. With delicious food as the top priority, the first choice is to sprinkle golden bridges. If living comfort and style are the top priority-I have never thought about it so I don't know-but when I was walking on the city wall, there was a group of very literary B & Bs at the foot of the wall, which should be available online.

Forgive my long nagging, every detail, I hope it will be useful to you.
