As the saying goes: Looking at Shanghai in a century, looking at Beijing in a thousand years, looking at Xi'an in a thousand years.
Xi'an, known as Chang' an in ancient times, is now the capital of Shaanxi Province and the core area of the "Belt and Road" starting point of the Silk Road.
Chang 'an has been the capital of emperors since ancient times. Xi'an has a history of more than 5000 years of civilization, more than 3100 years of city building, and more than 1100 years of capital building. It is one of China's four major ancient capitals and the ancient capital of China's thirteen dynasties.
My Dabao will go to primary school next year. Speaking of which, children today are not as happy as when we were young. Although technology is so developed nowadays, transportation is so convenient, and the scenery is so charming. But it's far worse than the carefree way I was when I was a child.
Okay, while Dabao is not in school yet and doesn't feel the trouble and pressure of school, take her out to experience flying. Hehe (mainly because the air ticket is cheap in winter), let's have a trip that we want to go!
Xi'an's transportation is very convenient. Taxis, online ride-hailing, and shared bicycles can be seen everywhere.
Xi'an North Railway Station is 12 kilometers away from the Central Bell Tower of Xi'an City, 3 kilometers away from the Administrative Center of Xi'an City, and 20 kilometers away from Xi'an Xianyang International Airport. It is the most important and largest railway passenger transport hub in Northwest China and one of the main passenger stations of Xi'an Railway Hub.
There are currently three subways in Xi'an, running through the east, west, north and south, making it very convenient to ride.
I come from Tianjin. I can choose high-speed rail or plane from Tianjin to Xi'an. Since the air tickets are very cheap in December, the average cost for the three of us is less than 300 yuan per person. And it also saves a lot of time, about an hour and a half. If it is a high-speed rail, it will cost about 500 yuan per person, and the time will be about 5 hours
Xi'an Xianyang International Airport is far away from the city, but there are many buses to various places, leaving every 30 minutes and even in the early morning. The fares range from tens of yuan. After we got off the plane, we took the bus directly to the hotel where we stayed in the city. About 1 hour.
Hotels in Xi'an are everywhere, including youth hostels, express hotels, and star hotels. It is recommended to stay near the Bell Tower or near the subway, which makes travel very convenient.
This time we stayed at the Hanting Express Hotel near Drum Tower. The location was easy to find at the intersection of Zhuba City and Drum Tower. The service was very good, clean and tidy. The most important thing was that we prepared a small gift for Dabao when we left. Dabao liked it very much. Give a big praise to Hanting Hotel here!
When it comes to food, Xi'an's food is mainly snacks. There are countless snacks, large and small, and they can't be eaten for days. Xi'an is originally a city that combines history and delicious food. It is represented by pao buns, cold noodles, soup dumplings, guokui, fragrant crispy buns, roujiamo, bangbang noodles, Qishan noodles, small crispy pork, and osmanthus cake.
Xi'an's food districts are mainly concentrated near Hui Min Street and Yongxing Square, among which Hui Min Street is represented. Of course, we are no exception. Because Hui Min Street is behind the Drum Tower, it is very close to where we live.
the first day 2018.12.21
Xi'an Drum Tower was built in the 13th year of Hongwu of Zhu Yuanzhang, the founder of the Ming Dynasty. It is four years older than the Bell Tower and has a history of 625 years. There was a giant drum upstairs, and the drum was beat every day to tell the time, so it was called the "Drum Tower". After years of vicissitudes, the giant drum no longer exists, but the Yugu Tower stands tall.
By the way, I want to talk about Xi'an Hui Street here. Xi'an Hui Street is also known as Antique Street. It is the collective name of many streets in the Hui Street District. It consists of several streets including Beiyuanmen, Beiguangji Street, Xiyangshi, Dapiyuan, etc. Locals are accustomed to calling it Huifang. With its strong Muslim culture and atmosphere, it builds a unique landscape for the ancient city. Since Dabao is not interested in beef and mutton, and Dabao's stomach has not been very good recently, this time we didn't have a good taste on the Hui Street, a food street, which is a big regret.
Gao Family Courtyard. As the name suggests, the director of this courtyard used to be named Gao... Hehe. The Gaojia Courtyard was the residence granted by Emperor Chongzhen to Gao Yuesong for participating in the high school examination during the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty. Later, his descendants participated in the scientific expedition, and the emperor personally selected the list, and the Gao Mansion won the "List and the First Place" plaque hung high in the gate.
Here comes the main event
The adult ticket price for Gaojia Courtyard is 15 yuan. I also bought it in advance on Ctrip and I can't remember the exact cost...
After watching the shadow puppet show, I took a stroll in the Gao family compound. It was already past 1 o'clock in the afternoon. After that, I went back to the hotel to rest.
Xi'an Bell Tower is the core of the ancient city of Xi'an. It is the intersection of the East, South, West and North Streets. It is only half a mile away from the Drum Tower and reflects each other, like twin brothers. Round flower beds were paved around the bell tower, becoming a traffic roundabout, with endless traffic flowing.
After seeing the Bell Tower, we took a taxi directly to the Xi'an Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Yanta District, Xi'an City
The Big Wild Goose Pagoda is located in the Dacien Temple in Jinchangfang, Chang 'an City in the Tang Dynasty (now south of Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province). It is also known as the "Cien Temple Pagoda." In the third year of Tang Yonghui (652), Xuanzang presided over the construction of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda to preserve the Buddhist scroll Buddha statues brought back to Chang 'an from Tianzhu via the Silk Road. The first five floors were covered, and then it was covered to nine floors. The later layers and heights were changed several times, and finally it was fixed to the seven-story tower seen today, with a total height of 64.517 meters and a side length of 25.5 meters on the bottom floor.
When I arrived at the entrance of Daci 'en Temple, I received unfortunate news that Daci' en Temple and the North Square of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda were being renovated and closed to the public (it was later learned that they were renovated for the Tang Dynasty that never sleeps during the Spring Festival). I originally planned to visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Daci 'en Temple in the afternoon. Watching the musical fountain in the North Square of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda at night. There's nothing to watch now...
After thinking for a long time, I decided to go back to Hui Street to find delicious food ^_^.
Well, today's day's itinerary has come to an end. There are disappointments and joy on this day. I feel very happy as long as I am with my family!
Xi'an, you are so beautiful, do you know???
the next day 2018.12.22
The next day, we slept until we woke up naturally. When we came out of the hotel, the weather was bad and it actually started to rain outside... The original plan was to go to the city wall to play. Finally, we decided to go shopping on Huimin Street again. There is a golden arch next to the Drum Tower (McDonald's) and the family decided to have breakfast here now (Dabao's favorite)
Okay, after shopping, it was already noon and decided to go back to the hotel to rest.
After sleeping, we decided to go to Shaanxi Expo to have a look (Shaanxi History Museum)
Give me one day and I'll pay you back for a thousand years
Shaanxi History Museum is located on the northwest side of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. It was established in 1983. It is a national-level comprehensive historical museum and the first large-scale national museum with modern facilities in China. Xi'an has been the capital of emperors since ancient times. In history, thirteen feudal dynasties including Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang established their capitals here. It is rich in cultural relics on the ground and underground. There are more than 370000 cultural relics in the collection, ranging from simple stone tools used in the initial stage of ancient humans to various artifacts in social life before 1840, covering a period of more than one million years.
The museum is free to tourists, but tickets are not exempt. Visitors must use their ID cards at the ticket office to exchange for tickets. Exchange one ticket for each ID card. There are also two treasure halls, 20 yuan per person. It is said that several cultural relics from the town hall are all in the treasure hall.
Free opening hours: Open all day from Tuesday to Sunday, and closed all day on Monday for renovation (except national holidays).
Winter: November 15-March 15 9:00-17:30 (invoices stop at 16:00)
Summer: March 16-November 14 8:30-18:00 (invoices stop at 16:30)
Because it is a free attraction, there are many people. Almost every exhibit is surrounded in front of it, so there are many people who want to see it well. You can rent an interpreter in the hall. However, I think the explanation of the self-service explanation machine has no emotion, just like reading a history book. There is also a manual guide. Here is a suggestion that everyone find a manual guide. Okay, after saying so much, let's look at the picture.
final chapter
After two days, I went back in the blink of an eye and played with Dabao for two days. I know this is not enough to understand and appreciate Xi'an, but I am a gray wolf, and I have to say loudly: Xi'an, I will come back!!! I want to go to the Terracotta Warriors, I want to go to Huaqing Pool... Wait for many, many places, when my Dabao grows up, I want to help her understand Xi'an!
Goodbye!
