The famous historical and cultural city of Xi'an is the capital of Shaanxi Province and the largest city in northwest China. Xi'an is the city with the largest number of dynasties and the longest history in Chinese history. From the Western Zhou Dynasty, when the slave Qin Dynasty was at its peak, to the Tang Dynasty, when feudal society reached its peak, there were 13 dynasties, including the Western Zhou Dynasty, Qin, Western Han Dynasty, New and Eastern Han Dynasty [the beginning of Emperor Xian], Western Jin Dynasty [Emperor Min], Former Zhao, Former Qin, Later Qin, Western Wei, Northern Zhou, Sui and Tang Dynasty, which established their capitals here for 1140 years. From 1057 BC to 904 AD, Xi'an was long the political, economic and cultural center of ancient China.

Located in the south of Xi'an City, there is a famous temple-Dacien Temple. In the temple is a Tang Dynasty square pagoda-Big Wild Goose Pagoda, also known as the "Cien Temple Pagoda." In the third year of Tang Yonghui (652), Xuanzang presided over the construction of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda to preserve the Buddhist scroll Buddha statues brought back to Chang 'an by Tianzhu via the Silk Road. The first five floors were covered, and then the ninth floors were covered. The later layers and heights were changed several times, and finally fixed to the seven-story tower body seen today, with a height of 64.517 meters and a side length of 25.5 meters on the bottom floor.

As the earliest and largest existing brick tower in the Tang Dynasty, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is a typical physical evidence of the Buddhist pagoda, an architectural form of ancient Indian Buddhist temples, which was introduced into the Central Plains with Buddhism and integrated into Chinese culture. It is a reflection of the wisdom of the ancient Chinese working people. A landmark building.

As Chinese, everyone is familiar with "Journey to the West". The prototype of the Tang Sanzang in the book is Master Xuanzang of the Tang Dynasty. The Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an City is an ancient building with Indian Buddhist architectural colors and is located in Daci' en Temple. Cien Temple is the most famous building in Xi'an. Master Xuanzang was the first abbot of the temple and has a history of more than 1300 years.

The legend he heard in India about monks burying wild geese and building pagodas in "The Chronicles of the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty" explains the most credible theory on the origin of the wild goose pagoda. Volume 9 of "A Chronicle of the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty": In the Indra Serolou River Mountain in the State of Magatore, there is a Wild Goose Pagoda. It is said that the wild geese devoted themselves to enlightenment the Hinayana believers. Perhaps this record is the origin of the name of the Wild Goose Pagoda.

Legend has it that long ago, a monk in a temple in the state of Magadha (now southern Bihar, India) believed in Theravana Buddhism and could eat Sanjing meat. One day, a flock of geese flew in the sky. A monk saw a group of wild geese and said casually: "Everyone has nothing to eat today. Bodhisattva should know that we are hungry!" Before he could finish his sentence, a wild goose fell and died in front of the monk. He was surprised and happy, and he told all the monks in the temple that they all believed that this was the Buddha Rulai who was educating them. So at the place where the geese fell, the geese were buried in a solemn ceremony and built a pagoda, which was named the Wild Goose Pagoda.

Xuanzang visited this wild goose pagoda while studying in India from 629 to 645. After returning to China, during the translation of scriptures at Cien Temple, in order to store the Buddhist scriptures and Buddha statues brought back from India, in 652, a brick tower in the form of an Indian Wild Goose Pagoda was built in the West Courtyard of Cien Temple. This tower was called Wild Goose Pagoda. The name continues to this day. The origin of the tower's name is like this: The Big Wild Goose Pagoda was built by Xuanzang imitating the Indian Wild Goose Pagoda, so it follows the original name of the Indian Pagoda. Adding the word "big" before the name of the tower represents the meaning of Mahayana Buddhism.

The north square outside the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is now the largest fountain square and the largest waterscape square in Asia, with a water surface area of 20,000 square meters; it is the largest sculpture square in Asia. There are 2 100-meter-long group carvings, 8 groups of large-scale figure sculptures, and 40 ground landscape embossed; it has the world's most luxurious green non-contact toilet, maintaining the cleanest, the world's largest number of seats, the world's longest light belt, the world's first direct water diversion, and the largest audio combination. Since its completion in 2003, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda Music Fountain has been open to tourists for free, attracting a large number of tourists every year.

Whenever music plays, the fountain changes with the ups and downs of the music, making the scene spectacular. Every time, there is a sea of people, and tourists shuttle between the water gaps, extremely excited, and all kinds of performances are happy and relieved.

Due to the large number of people, people with children are reminded to take good care of children to prevent them from being lost, and to collect wallets and valuables properly. Speaking of which, when I went to take the night scene that night, I was wet by the fountain. The water column sprayed in the sky fell all over me. My whole body was wet, and I caught a cold the next day.
