Pursuing time accuracy is of extremely important fundamental significance to social development. Whether it is satellite positioning, high-speed railways, or radio and television, as long as there is nanosecond accuracy, there is nothing that cannot be done. Time is important to everyone. Xi'an's superior geographical location makes it not only the origin of "Beijing time". In Jingyang County, Xianyang, Xi'an City, there is China's geographical center-the earth origin, which is also known as the "earth datum point." Since the shape of the earth is close to an ellipsoid, in order to make many complex data calculations on it, a geodetic coordinate system must be set up to mark the geographical locations on the earth's surface one by one. The geodetic coordinate system established in the early 1950s could not meet the development needs of various undertakings, so the site was relocated in 1978. Through a series of field investigations, my country's geodetic origin was finally determined to be in Jingyang County, Shaanxi Province, which is located in the central part of the mainland and has ideal geological conditions.
