I had nothing to do on the weekend, but seeing that the weather was pretty good, I decided to go to Bailucang for a walk. It wasn't too far anyway. It's a shame to say that after so many years in Xi'an, I only learned about this place through the popular TV series "White Deer Plain", and I never found time to go. Recently, I heard from a friend who had been there that it was quite fun. It had beautiful scenery, delicious food, performing arts, and cultural heritage, so I made up my mind to go and have a look.
Bailucang Scenic Area is located on Bailuyuan. It comes out of the textile city entrance of the Ring Expressway and turns left. After walking for about 10 kilometers, you will reach it. Although the sun is shining high and the temperature is relatively high, there are many tourists, and it is bustling and lively. I have been to Yuanjia Village, Fucha Town, Hexianfang, etc. before. These places also focus on folk customs and delicious food. However, it may be because of the support of literary and artistic works such as novels and TV series, I feel that the cultural heritage here is still stronger and the cultural advantages are greater. Compared with several other scenic spots, Bailucang is larger in scale and has more content. Rich.
My favorite is Republic Street. The street is not long, but it gathers many buildings with the "Republic of China style": railway stations, theaters, grocery stores, reflection, song and dance halls, mansions, etc. The most distinctive and eye-catching thing is the streetcar that rings on the street and slowly approaches. Walking on this short street, I feel like I have traveled through time and space and returned to the Republican era.
On the recommendation of a friend, we walked into a shop selling embroidered shoes and embroidered pendants. The shop was not big, but the things were quite exquisite. pairs of beautifully made embroidered shoes of different colors were on the shelves. Under the illumination of the light, it was really beautiful. The embroidered pendants hanging on the wall have various shapes, including flowers, doll heads, and various animal shapes. They have a wide variety of items and are dizzying.
The temperature was high and the sun was shining. After walking for a while, I felt thirsty and tired, so I wandered to the food street and planned to find a stall to eat something. There were various signs hanging on both sides of the street. We didn't know what to eat for those who chose difficulties. Later, we saw a cold noodle shop and thought of having sour and spicy cold noodles with a roujiamo and a cup of ice cold. The ice peak was not bad, so we sat down. After serving it, I took a few bites and felt good.
Overall, this trip to Bailucang is quite satisfactory. Moreover, I heard that they are planning a large-scale program set in the Republic of China. To put it more professionally, it sounds like "participatory neighborhood real-life performing arts." In layman terms, tourists can participate in the program, become characters in the play, and interact with professional cast members and promote the development of the story. This feels quite interesting. Next time you have the opportunity, come back and visit and experience the feeling of "being an actor".
