At the end of April this year, the green corridor of the southern extension of Tang Heritage Park in the High-tech Zone will be completed, which means that this thousand-meter-long corridor greenway will be available soon. The completion of this green channel will become an important cultural and spiritual bond in Xi'an will also bring more ecological benefits to citizens. This green channel is located on Xitai Road, with a designed mileage of about 20 kilometers and a total width of 110-175 meters. It is a central park that integrates leisure and entertainment, science learning, sports and fitness.
In the design, this green corridor is also divided into unique positioning and styles according to different road sections, creating a time green corridor according to different periods such as ancient times, present times, future times, and return. This line also includes a two-way eight-lane road converted from an 8-kilometer cherry blossom greenway and a 7.5-kilometer aerial trail, which can better optimize urban transportation problems. Nowadays, bridge projects and greening projects are accelerating, and beautiful landscape green corridors will soon be available to citizens.
The influence of the Tang City Wall on the development of Xi'an is not only due to this landscape green corridor. According to data records, the total area of Chang' an City in the Tang Dynasty is about 84 square kilometers. The ruins of Chang 'an City Wall in the Tang Dynasty are different from the well-preserved Ming City Wall. Today, only a few ruins of the Tang City Wall are left. In 2005, Xi'an City's High-tech Zone invested in the construction of the Yanping Gate Site. Historically, Yanping Gate was once the southernmost gate in the west of Guo City outside Chang' an City in the Tang Dynasty. In order to protect this site, an urban heritage park was built on this site. This section of Tang City Wall Ruins Park has a total length of 3.7 kilometers from north to south and a width of about 120 meters from east to west. It is located between Fenghui South Road and Tangyan Road in Xi'an High-tech Zone. The West City Wall is also open to the public in the form of a ruins park. The 3.6-kilometer-long Tang City Wall Ruins Park was built in Qujiang New District. This is a high-quality place built on the ruins of the outer walls of the ancient city wall. Whether it is the High-tech Zone or Qujiang, the efficient protection and utilization of the Tang City Wall relics are consistent.
In the future, Xi'an will continue to increase both in terms of green area and the number of parks. Taking the 14th National Games as an opportunity, it is planned that the city will add no less than 6 million square meters of urban green space this year, build and upgrade no less than 100 green space squares and mini parks, etc., covering Chang 'an District, High-tech Zone and other areas, Cuijiaying Park in Chang' an District, Juhe Ecological Park in High-tech Zone, Qujiang Yuedong Park in Qujiang New District, Hangteng Park in Aerospace Base... Xi'an plans to launch 404 greening tasks this spring. It can be said that Xi'an's future ecological environment optimization is just around the corner.
