As a border boundary, Banna has the free and loose life that I love, the blending of diverse cultures, the intoxicating sunshine in winter and the rich and novel Dai customs.

Xishuangbanna is a cold resort that is especially worth visiting in winter, but before deciding to come to Banna, I was very hesitant. Will it be messy? Could there be snakes? Are there many bugs? These three questions almost made me give up here, but fortunately I came in the end. Public security is good and there is no chaos; snakes will basically not exist in the living area unless you go to the deep mountains and forests; most rooms have geckos, but there are no insects.

Here are a few tips: Don't come in summer. In winter, at noon in late December, the highest temperature is already close to 30 degrees. I can't imagine it in summer. Summer is also the off-season for tourism in Banna; April is the most suitable, because only in April, peacocks will open their screens, and April is also the largest water-splashing festival for the Dai people; the temperature difference here is very large, and clothes for two seasons are required. Banna itself does not have four seasons, including dry and rainy seasons.

Xingguang Night Market is a large night market connected by countless stalls, a bit like the Southeast Asian version of Sleepless Plaza. Food, toys, decorations, trinkets, dining bar, bar, barbecue bar... it's all here. The price will be slightly more expensive than that in Jinghong City, and most of them are from other provinces who come to set up stalls. On-the-spot inspection food is also available everywhere. Except for fruits and Dai barbecues, people from other provinces who don't know Yunnan may not be able to find authentic Yunnan flavor, but this does not diminish the appeal of this place at all.

I only stayed in Banna for three days. As a person who has been there, I understand that despite looking at the strategies on the Internet, three days are completely not enough to stay and play. Especially in December, when the whole country is in a gloomy winter, Xishuangbanna simply exists like a paradise.

Because of the climate, people in Jinghong are used to nightlife. I asked a local Didi driver, and I asked them what time they usually go to bed, and he replied that it was 2/3 o'clock... so it is normal for people to walk and chat on the street at 12 o'clock and 1 o'clock in the evening. It's normal for no one to be on the street before 11 a.m. during the day.

Xishuangbanna has the brightest sun in winter, delicious and rich varieties of tropical fruits, rice noodles that I don't get tired of, beauty vinegar that I don't get tired of, beautiful prices and beautiful Dai costumes. This is the best place for slow living, vacation and relaxation. But I have to do my homework on sun protection. The ultraviolet rays here are very strong. I was not white in just one or two days, but I saw myself turning black with a color number.

In addition, for friends who want to wear Dai costumes to take photos, there is a small shop on the street of Gaozhuang that wears Dai costumes to take photos. A set of clothes can also be repaired for make-up photography and exterior photography. The price is in various ranges of RMB199, 299, and 399. The charges vary mainly depending on the clothing you choose. The cheapest one I picked is RMB199, which is in line with expectations.
