Buddha worship, Anning Hot Spring and Cuihu Red-billed Gulls

It is the last day of Xishuangbanna's itinerary and I fly back to Kunming City in the evening. Today was mainly in the city, so we didn't need Master Xia's car. We made an appointment to pick us up for shopping and send us to the airport in the afternoon (free). The two famous temples in the city-Dafo Temple and General Buddhist Temple are only 4 kilometers away, and a taxi is only 10 yuan.

Almost all the Dai people in Xishuangbanna believe in Theravada Buddhism spread from the south. Buddhism has spread to Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Yunnan Dai areas in China. It belongs to southern Buddhism, also known as Hinayana Buddhism. Since Theravana Buddhism uses Pali as the classic language, it is also called Pali Buddhism. The Theravana Buddhist sect is divided into four sects: the Mass sect, the Theravada sect, the All-Being sect, and the Zhengliang sect.

The Dafo Temple is located on the outskirts of Jinghong City, the capital of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It was restored and rebuilt on the original site of the ancient Dai Dynasty's royal temple "Jingpiao Buddhist Temple".

The "Jingpiao Buddhist Temple" was built by a Dai king named Bo Long in Dai history to commemorate the deceased princess Nansha Weibian. The princess believed in Buddhism all her life, so the Dai King would visit the temple in person during festivals and hold large-scale Dharma meetings to commemorate her beloved concubine and promote Dharma.

According to historical records, the "Jingpiao Buddhist Temple" was built in the Ming Dynasty. It is one of the landmark buildings symbolizing the Twelve Banna Buddhism spread in the south and an important place for Buddhist activities in Banna. The building was destroyed during the war in 2883 of the Buddhist calendar (i.e. 1848 AD, during the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty), 169 years ago.

The reconstruction of the Buddhist temple began in 2005, and the first phase of the project was completed on November 3, 2007.

The Buddhist temple covers an area of 650 acres and is built on the mountain with a drop of 122.8 meters. It has the shape of a sitting Buddha and is unique at home and abroad. A large tower and several smaller towers surrounding the large tower are currently being built on the top of the mountain.

The tour guide is a junior student who came to the temple to intern and was very enthusiastic. Take the temple's battery car and tour from top to bottom one stop at a time. Because I don't know much about Buddhism, especially Theravada Buddhism spread in the south. So listening to the guide's introduction, I felt like I was in a cloud and I couldn't connect the front and back.

Leave the temple and wait for a taxi. There are many taxis in the urban area, so they can be reached at the entrance of the hotel when they come. However, Dafo Temple is already a suburb, and taxis are very few, so many people will raise their praises when one comes. After waiting for ten minutes, a private car arrived. After we asked for our trip to Manting Park, we agreed to take us off. The condition was that we would go to the store he designated for ten minutes. It didn't matter if we didn't buy anything. He would get a gas ticket in just ten minutes. We readily agreed because this was not the first time. Master Xia also took us there twice. This was to help them get some subsidies from merchants. If you shop, they still have a commission. This is an unspoken rule in most tourist destinations.

When we arrived at Manting Park, we gave the driver the money and he didn't want it. This was something we didn't expect. Maybe he would drop us by the way.

The purpose of going to Manting Park is to watch an elephant performance. After walking for more than 10 minutes from the gate to the elephant performance site, I saw Manting Park being built along the way. For the first time, I saw infusion of trees to replenish nutrition. I also saw a couple wearing national costumes taking wedding photos.

After the ten-minute elephant performance, we went to the main Buddhist temple. The main Buddhist temple is connected to Manting Park, and it is about 10 minutes 'walk from the elephant performance site.

The main Buddhist temple was the holy place where the highest ruler of Xishuangbanna (literally translated as the land owner or the land king) and his chieftain chief worshiped Buddha before liberation. It was also the highest Buddhist temple among Xishuangbanna Buddhist temples. Hooters of Buddhist temples from all over the country come here from time to time to pay homage and discuss scriptures. It is a sacred place for worshiping Buddha in the past. The current main Buddhist temple covers an area of 3000 square meters and a construction area of about 1000 square meters. It consists of several parts such as the Buddhist temple "Weihan", the teaching building of the Buddhist College, and the monk's house "Huao Nuan". These buildings look splendid and splendid, but for me it's just a look at the excitement.

It was 1:30 p.m. when I returned to the hotel, checked out, and had lunch. At 3:00, Master Xia came to pick us up for shopping and delivered them to the airport. At 5:40, we left Jinghong City on West Airlines flight PN6217, ending a 4-day trip to Xishuangbanna.

The plane arrived at Kunming Changshui International Airport at 18:45. A friend picked us up to the city for dinner and then sent us to Anning City. The first purpose of going to Anning City is to soak in the hot springs. After a few days of tiredness, I need to relax and make a short adjustment. The second purpose is nostalgia. I visited this place with my wife 22 years ago, but I have forgotten it and need to deepen my impression.

Anning Hot Spring, also known as Biyu Spring, is located at the foot of Yuquan Mountain in Anning City, 42 kilometers away from the provincial capital Kunming. The biggest feature of Anning Hot Spring is that there are 9 spring water outlets, which flow more than 1000 tons every day and night. The water temperature is between 42℃ and 45 ℃, and has no sulfur smell. It contains trace elements such as calcium carbonate, magnesium, potassium, and radon. It is suitable for bathing and drinking. It has curative effects on skin diseases, rheumatoid arthritis and various gastrointestinal diseases. It was praised by Yang Shen, a literati of the Ming Dynasty as "the number one soup in the world."

Since I arrived at the Hot Spring Hotel last night, I couldn't see what the hotel looked like, so I went out for a stroll early in the morning.

This hotel looks like a residential area.

The breakfast was very rich, the snacks were exquisite, and the cafeteria was elegant and unique.
