DAY 4
The weather in Banna has been sultry since morning. Although the scenery is beautiful, we can only leave quickly for the next trip. Because it was too early, the hotel did not serve breakfast yet, so we could only go to the roadside stall and buy some soy milk and fried dough sticks to keep my stomach warm. It is about 140 kilometers from Jinghong City to Jingmai Village. There is no highway, so you can only take the Xijing Line, which takes 3 hours and 30 minutes. Walking under the archway in Lancang, I also made a special trip to take a photo.
Soon we arrived at Jingmai Mountain. Recently, due to swine fever, there were special personnel at the foot of the mountain to disinfect the car. The road on the mountain is not a regular cement road or dirt road, but a very special stone road. The moment the car drove in, it suddenly turned on the shake mode. Fortunately, our Jiaji chassis is relatively high and the suspension is relatively comfortable, so it actually didn't have much impact on us.
After driving on such a rocky road for about 30 minutes, we finally arrived at our destination-Jingmai Mountain Ancient Tea Forest. Our guide was a beautiful Lahu girl, and we all called her Xiao Du. Xiao Du's family is in the local Pu 'er tea business. As soon as they met, they enthusiastically made tea for us. Everyone gathered around a wooden board and felt the local tea atmosphere.
I also specifically asked Xiao Du why he paved the stone road. It turned out that it was because the asphalt was toxic and was afraid of affecting the ecological environment on the mountain and causing great harm to tea planting. The construction cost of stone roads is actually much higher than that of ordinary asphalt roads, and there are also requirements for building materials on the mountains. All of this is for the long-term sustainable development of the ancient tea garden.
After tasting the tea, we went to visit the 10,000-acre tea garden. Xiao Du would introduce the planting years of the tea gardens that passed by along the way. The tea gardens from 30 to 100 years old are considered relatively new by local residents. There are already hundreds of thousands of years of history that are really worth visiting. We were stunned to hear this number. This is the result of generations passed down.
On the way up the mountain, we also went to the well-preserved local ancient village called Wengji Ancient Village, where ethnic minority residents such as the Bulang, Lahu, and Wa lived. Wengji Ancient Village has not been overexploited, so the overall original flavor is well preserved.
Xiao Du had friends in the ancient village, so we were invited to taste tea again. The tea leaves we drank this time were different from the ones Xiao Du made for us. In the ancient village, we tasted glutinous rice tea. There was a faint aroma of rice at the entrance and the aftertaste was very sweet. I asked them how to make it, and it turned out that there was a plant on the mountain called glutinous rice leaves. During the fermentation process of the tea leaves, the glutinous rice leaves were placed next to them, so that the tea leaves had a faint glutinous rice aroma. Because we had never tasted this taste before, we all bought some. Xiao Du's friend even gave us a discount. It was really satisfying ~
The tea leaves made us hungry, so we hurried to have lunch. There was a restaurant next to Xiao Du's tea house. After a simple meal, we visited the Tea Ancestral Temple and felt the local villagers 'reverence and inheritance of tea culture. The local villagers respect the Tea Ancestor very much and hold many ceremonies to worship the Tea Ancestor. However, there is no festival this season when we are here. I hope we can participate in it next time if we have the opportunity ~
Although life on the mountain is very comfortable, we have to rush to the next journey-Ruili Diesha Village. The journey is about 470 kilometers. Because there is no high speed, we can only travel all the way through national and provincial roads, and it is over mountain roads. For safety reasons, we had to leave early. Looking forward to coming back next time, I must bring my parents to experience life away from the city for a few more days.
We found on our mobile phone that there was no place to stay near Diesha Village, so we drove to Ruili City, the city closest to Diesha Village. Ruili is a small city on the China-Myanmar border, so the jade business here is very popular. Many people come here to buy jade. When we checked in at the hotel, my sister at the front desk was still introducing us to the jade market and said that we could go and have a look, play stone gambling, and try our luck.
But when we arrived, it was dinner time at night. Everyone wanted to eat local Dai specialties, so we went straight to the local night market. The place we went to was called Caiyuncheng Night Market. It was not very big, but the shops next to it sold clothes, accessories and other retail products. We even saw a book shop that burned fairy grass. It seems that the people of the border city also like happy fat house water. I randomly ordered a few Dai snacks at the night market. They were basically sour and spicy and very appetizing. I especially recommended the local freshly squeezed mango juice. It only cost 7 yuan a cup. It was so affordable! Want to have a few more cups ~
After a long day of travel and travel, we quickly returned to the hotel to rest. Tomorrow morning, we will visit Xiao Wang's house, a sister of the Dai family, to taste a real Dai feast. Let's look forward to it with us.
DAY 5
Why did we drive hundreds of kilometers to the home of Dai sister Xiaowang this time? Because her friends had been to the China-Myanmar border, she met Wang by chance. Wang is a very lovely girl. She makes Dai food very good and works part-time coffee craft. When Wang learned that we were traveling in Yunnan, he specially invited us there, which happened to coincide with the five-day special market held by the Chinese and Burmese people, so we had rough hair!
It is only 20 kilometers from Ruili to Wang's home. The whole journey is on the national highway, which takes about 40 minutes. Wang told us that along the way, we could go to see the local specialties of Yizhai, Shuangguo and Ganji.
We first went to the border village Kasha, which is the place where the market is going. Many residents on both sides will set up stalls here and sell daily necessities. We briefly browsed and found that we have everything we have. We also bought a very big pineapple here. Please trouble the boss to help us peel it. We thought it might cost about 20 yuan, but we didn't expect it to be only 7 yuan. We immediately wanted to wholesale it and sell it back to Chengdu. Haha ~
Next, we went to the Yizhai and Liangguo Scenic Area, which is next to the famous Boundary Monument No. 71 on the China-Myanmar border. The border line divides a Dai village into two, forming a unique phenomenon. Because this is a scenic spot, the traffic is particularly large, so we just simply browsed it. Just then, Wang called and said that Dai food was ready and was waiting for us to eat, so we quickly set off. We arrived in about 10 minutes. We saw Wang picking us up at the entrance of the village far away and waved enthusiastically to us.
Wang's home is a small two-story house. As soon as you enter the door, you will see a variety of wooden decorations, some big and small, almost all of which are border characteristics Buddha statues, animals, etc. However, I prefer the tea cabinet in Wang's home. It is made of brown-red wood and has a glass door. You can see at a glance the utensils and cups of all sizes placed inside. Red wine glasses, ice glasses, tea cups, coffee cups, as well as tableware of various sizes, all sizes, were all available. I was very interested in Wang's coffee equipment and kept staring at it. Wang smiled and said to have dinner first and make authentic hand-brewed coffee for us after lunch.
The place to eat is not in the house. There is actually a pavilion in the courtyard of Wang. Different from the cement and stone pavilions in the mainland, this one is made of bamboo and wood and looks very light and bright. In order to prevent us from being bitten by poisonous mosquitoes at the border, Wang ordered mosquito coils under the dining table in advance. It was really thoughtful ~
When the dishes were all served, I picked up my mobile phone and asked to take pictures first. It wasn't me who did it. It really looked too appetizing and had to leave a souvenir first. tom yum soup, mushroom roast chicken, fungus meat slices, Dai seasonal vegetables, and rice are specially placed in a silver vessel, which looks extremely ceremonial.
Everyone was super full. Wang said he would make us hand-brewed coffee, but we had just finished eating so we planned to go out for a walk and come back for coffee. Because Wang's home was about 10 meters away from the China-Myanmar border, we were curious and planned to go and have a look, but we had to go through the bamboo forest. The land that had just rained was too soft. I wore sneakers, so I looked from a distance. DaiLi couldn't walk a few steps even with slippers on, so the two of them hung around for a while. There were too many poisonous mosquitoes, so we returned home to prepare to chat with Wang.
When DaiLi arrived home, he felt a feeling of being bitten on his feet. He thought it was a mosquito, so he slapped it with his hand and found that something was wrong. When he saw it was a leech. Where have we seen it before? He was immediately scared and shouted. Wang calmly helped her twist it off with paper and throw it away. It was a thrilling experience. Now that I think about it, I still feel scared, so I reminded friends traveling to Yunnan to wear trousers, stockings, and anti-mosquito bite medicines as much as possible when going to humid areas.
In order to calm DaiLi's nerves, our coffee taste journey started in advance. Seeing that we were very interested, Wang took out special items for making coffee and introduced them to us. There are hand-brewed coffee cups, filter paper bags, ear bags, coffee hand-pressed cups, etc. The simplest thing is to use them after grinding. Hanging ears, pressing the cup with your hands for easy cleaning, and high-level gameplay is hand-brewed. In order to show us, our coffee was made using high-end methods. Wang's coffee beans were roasted by himself, and the coffee powder was also ground freshly. Looking at Wang's making process, it was so cool, so everyone bought some coffee. Some buy beans and some buy coffee powder. I really have to start learning from the introduction of coffee.
The funniest thing was that a friend in the same company took away the electric mill Wang Gang bought, and another friend took away the hand-pressed cup. Wang was very happy that we could like coffee culture, and she also added WeChat one after another. Said that if there were any problems, she could communicate at any time. Although I am not a coffee lover, I was also led into a trap and decided to go back to Chengdu to try simple hanging coffee first.
Unconsciously, time passed too fast, and it was time for us to leave again. Although I have a psychological shadow about leeches, I really like the tranquility and comfort of the small border town, especially Wang's love for life. State, because we live in an environment where the pace of life is fast, we should find time to stop and go out for a walk.
After saying goodbye to Wang, we set foot on the way back to Kunming. Of course, Jiaji accompanied us all the way. This trip was almost long-distance self-driving. The total time in the car was about 48 hours. However, Jiaji's flexible control and comfortable driving saved us a lot of attention on our trip. I'd like to say a lot of praise. But what we like most is the USB jack that can be seen everywhere. We don't need to bring a thick and heavy charging treasure to go out at all. Everyone's mobile phone can be fully charged in the car.
I think everyone has different opinions on Jiaji. Men pay more attention to the feeling of driving and driving, and women pay more attention to the soft and considerate side of it. They all say that details determine success or failure. A car that can impress us at the same time must not be simple.
