Cycling to the Dai Garden. The scenery is beautiful along the way. Cycling along the Lancang River and Mekong River. Feel the natural scenery along the river. Ride freely and travel with friends. It is about 24 kilometers away from Gaozhuang West Shuangjing to Dai Garden. We rode for about 90 minutes.

The Lancang River passes through Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam, and flows into the South China Sea of the Pacific Ocean south of Ho Chi Minh City in southern Vietnam. It has a total drainage area of 810,000 square kilometers. It is the river that flows through the largest number of countries in Asia and is called the "Eastern Danube River." The Lancang River is 2179 kilometers long in China and flows through Qinghai, Xizang, and Yunnan provinces, of which 1247 kilometers is in Yunnan, with a drainage area of 165,000 square kilometers, accounting for 22.5% of the Lancang-Mekong River Basin.

The Lancang River is one of the major rivers in Southwest China and an international river in Asia. The Lancang River originates from the snow-capped mountains and wetlands in the Tanggula Mountains. The abundant groundwater in the snow-capped mountains and wetland conservation areas provides conditions for the formation of the Lancang River. The Lancang River Basin is the area with the most ethnic, religious and landscape diversity in my country, from tropical rainforests to snowy mountains and meadows. There are not only beautiful scenery, but also rich humanities.

I came to the beach and felt the Lancang River and Mekong River. The clear water. Shuai pot, like me, came here to take pictures of the beautiful scenery. Record every detail on the ride.

The river water was so clear, washing the dust off the road, we continued to set off and headed for our destination, Menghan Town.

After an hour and a half of riding, we arrived at Menghan Town, Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna, where the Dai Garden is located. We took a group photo with the people, cars and local famous brands. At least we rode here. The riding was great. There were many cars on the road, so we should pay more attention to safety.

The temples along the way look very ancient and should have a history of hundreds of years. In Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, the Dai people believe in Buddhism. Every village has a Buddhist temple.

Dai Buddhism is also known as "Theravada Buddhism" and "Southern Buddhism". Between the 1st and 2nd centuries AD, Indian Buddhism split into the Mahayana sect that advocated "universal salvation of all living beings", calling primitive Buddhism and Buddhist Buddhism, which originally only sought self-liberation, Hinayana. Theravana Buddhism later spread to Sri Lanka, and then to Indochina Peninsula and Yunnan Province of China.

Take a photo together. You two worked hard to carry us here together.

It was not easy for us to take a group photo. It was just the two of us riding bicycles the whole time. Are we all driving now? Life still needs passion. Give yourself a thumbs up! We travel low-carbon.

Let's first solve the problem of food and clothing. Curry rice is not bad. Let's also experience (Third Brother)'s "delicious food".

I came to the small market in Dai Garden, which mainly sold barbecues, fruits, handicrafts, etc. The fruits were all tropical fruits, locally grown coconuts, bananas, etc.

Corner of the market

Lao Mitao, the Dai people call Lao Grandma (Lao Mitao), and the old grandfather is called Lao Potao.

The elderly are selling them. Rubber seed pendants and flower handicrafts are very cheap. These are also flowers grown in the Dai Garden and they look beautiful. The old man is also very serious about making handicrafts.

Park the two brothers first and have a good rest. They have to go back in the afternoon.

The Asian elephant is the largest existing land animal in Asia. Its tusks are more than 1 meter long. They are the incisors of the male elephant's upper jaw protruding out of the mouth and are also a powerful defensive weapon. Elephants have small eyes and large ears, and their ears recede to cover both sides of the neck. The limbs are thick and strong, with 5 toes on the front limbs and 4 toes on the rear limbs. The tail is short and thin, the skin is thick and wrinkled, and the whole body is covered with sparse short hair. The top of the head is the highest point, with a body length of 5 to 6 meters, a height of 2.1 to 3.6 meters, and a weight of 3 to 5 tons. [1]Wild elephants are now rare, and many domestic and service elephants are domesticated in some countries in Southeast Asia. Wild elephants in China are only distributed in the border areas of southern Yunnan Province adjacent to Myanmar and Laos. The number is very rare and they are frequently hunted and killed, causing serious damage. Belonging to national-level protected animals.

You can take photos with Asian elephants, or you can ride on it and experience it.

Wanrenshuipu Square

The Water-Splashing Festival, also known as the "Buddha Bathing Festival", or "Lenghashan", everyone splashed each other with pure water to pray to wash away the troubles of the past year. The Water-Splashing Festival is the Dai New Year, equivalent to April 13 to 15 in the Gregorian calendar.

Wanrenshuipu Square

There is water splashing every day

Splashing time: 13:30-14:00
15:30-16:00

It's a pity that we didn't participate in the water-splashing event when we came here by bicycle. The time doesn't match, so I can only come back next time

Next to the Splash Square is the Song and Dance Theater. We have just entered the performance time and can enjoy the Dai family song and dance performances

Dai girls are very beautiful, they can sing and dance well

The scenery in the Dai Garden is very beautiful. Xishuangbanna is like spring all year round. It is now mid-November and flowers are in full bloom everywhere. The vegetation is lush. Birds sing and fragrant flowers. The temperature is all 26℃. Suitable for winter.

Looking at Dai Village through the Huamen, there is a unique scenery.

The Dai bamboo building is a kind of dry-railing building, mainly built of bamboo, so it is called "bamboo building". Dai bamboo buildings are typical buildings inherent to the Dai people.

When you enter the Dai Garden, you must go to Manchun Man Buddhist Temple

This is an ancient temple with a long history and a national key cultural relic.

It was built in 583 AD and has a history of more than 1400 years. It is one of the famous Buddhist temples in the area. Legend has it that it was the first Buddhist temple built after Buddhism was introduced to Xishuangbanna. However, the original Buddhist temple was destroyed in the 1960s, and the Buddhist temple that people see now was built in the late 1970s.

Buddhist temple murals

The mural of Manchun and Man Buddhist Temple is one of the representative works of Buddhist murals spread in the south. It has a unique artistic style and shows the characteristics of localization and nationality. Whether it is the content of the murals or the form of the Buddhist temple building, the modeling language reflects this characteristic.

After visiting the Dai Garden, I am ready to ride my bike back. Let me take a close-up

Falling Frangipani

Frangipani is grown in temples in Xishuangbanna. Frangipani is designated as one of the "Five Trees and Six Flowers" in Buddhist temples and is widely planted, so it is also known as "Temple Tree" or "Tower Tree".

The Legend of Frangipani

Legend has it that Frangipani was an angel before reincarnation. Because love violated the rules of heaven and fled to the southern country of the world. However, how can you escape if you offend Tianwei? That day on the Tianzhu Rock of the Qixing Rock, it wrapped its beloved love token-the yellow ribbon tightly around its white wings for the last time. Then hit the rock in a way that would hit the rock with an egg.

God was also moved by her. In the place where she died, that magical tree grew. The flowers blossomed like eggs and were yellow and white. From then on, in the southern country, every season of martyrdom, magical flowers bloomed everywhere. (Du Niang searched for ~~~~).

Ready to return home

Passing by a roadside shop, I saw a coconut seller, 10 yuan each. Drink some to replenish your energy.

Coconuts are all picked and cut now. Fresh coconut juice

Coconut juice is the extracted juice of the coconut fruit of the palm family coconut tree. The juice is as clear as water, quite sweet, crystal clear and clear, cooling and quenching your thirst. A coconut contains about two glasses of water, contains two tablespoons of sugar, as well as protein, fat, and vitamin C. It is an extremely nutritious drink. In the hot summer, coconut juice has a good effect of cooling off the heat, promoting saliva and quenching thirst. In addition, coconut juice also has heart-strengthening, diuretic, insect repellent, anti-vomiting and diarrhea effects.

The pineapple field I saw on the way back. Many friends don't know that pineapples grow in the ground. It turns out that many students who went to school thought it grew on trees. I can learn more.

This is how pineapples grow. This is an immature pineapple (this should be considered a youth), and it matures after a while.

Boluodi

It takes about an hour and 50 minutes to ride back to the city, and the return ride is slow. The total cycling mileage today is about 50 kilometers. I saw the most beautiful scenery and felt the culture of the Dai family in the Dai Garden. A very meaningful journey. Use cycling to learn about the local culture and the different scenery along the way. It makes sense. I hope more friends will come to Xishuangbanna. Eat Dai food once and be a Dai person for a day.
