Xishuangbanna is located at the southernmost tip of Yunnan, connected to Laos and Myanmar, and is rich in tourism resources, including tropical rainforests, border towns, Dai culture...

This APEC holiday, six of us from three generations, old, middle and small, came to the beautiful Xishuangbanna.

The itinerary is as follows:

[Banna Day1: Wangtian Tree]
Wangtianshu is the farthest scenic spot on the eastern route of Banna. The chartered drivers said that tour groups would not come here. They only come here four or five times a year. They would not use this road during the rainy season because there would be landslides in nearby mountains.

This tropical rainforest is the only oasis at 21 degrees north latitude, and everything else is already desert.
Take a boat to visit the Nanla River, known as the "Eastern Amazon"

"Man flowers" without "hearts" are toxic

Flowers like birds

Meet a big snail on the road

The children had close contact with the rainforest "giant" Wangtian tree and together challenged the world's highest "crown corridor". This corridor is set on the Wangtian tree, 36 meters high and 500 meters long. It has a total of eleven sections. After completing the first section, there is a return route, and those who cannot walk can return. My son is great and has been at the forefront. I started to give up a little. With my son's encouragement, I insisted on walking down. After having my son, my courage also grew.

After coming down the canopy corridor, we chose the 2-kilometer "Phillip Trail". There were very few people and no one else was seen on the rainforest trail, but we saw the "Four Wonders" of the rainforest where we saw-roots, strangulation, parasitism, saprotism, The power of nature is too powerful...

[Banna Day2: Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences]

Banna Botanical Garden is the largest botanical garden with the richest plant diversity in China. It is the only 5A scenic spot in Banna. You can avoid visiting other botanical gardens that have been here.

The Luosuo River, a tributary of the Lancang River that flows here, has just turned a corner and enclosed the land into a gourd-shaped peninsula. The Botanical Garden is built on the island. The Botanical Garden is divided into the east and the west. The east is a tropical rainforest and primeval forest. Because we have been to Wangtianshu, we only went to the west.

Among the more than 3000 species, there are many strange flowers and flowers. For example, the seeds that Premier Zhou brought back from West Africa and planted them successfully in the botanical garden are the "mysterious fruit" that can make everything sweet after eating them; the "rainy tree" that will rain; the "pitcher plant" that can eat small insects, the mimosa...

When we arrived at the dance dance place, many people sang loudly and really knew how to dance. We said that we could not use the judges anymore in the future. Whoever lets the dance would win.

Melion flower: Also known as Acacia and Acacia

The number of tourists in the Botanical Garden is 20 times that of Wangtianshu. It is best to stay in a hotel in the Botanical Garden for one night and experience the quiet morning and sunset in the Botanical Garden. However, this year's renovation.

[Banna Day3: Mengbala Naxi Song and Dance Show]
The performances in each city are a condensation of local history, culture and folk customs, such as the impressions of Lijiang, the impressions of Dahongpao and Pingyao in the Lao Mozi series. The representative of Banna is the song and dance show.

The Dai language "Mengbala Naxi" is an "ideal and magical paradise". The "Mengbala Naxi Song and Dance Show" is one-hour outfield, mainly for the audience to dance together, which is very fun.

The infield performance is 1 hour and 30 minutes, including Huayao Dai dance, Hani dance, Peacock dance, Dai Palace Palace dance, rolling lantern, and gourd silk. It rained on the stage during the water-splashing dance, and the audience in the front row raised their ponchos. The stage beauty, lighting, music, costumes, and stage design of the program are all gorgeous (no photos are allowed). Worth seeing!

[Banna Day4: Mengjing comes to Dai Village]
The largest ethnic group in Banna is the Dai. There are two well-preserved Dai villages that charge fees: Dai Garden and Mengjinglai. Dai Garden is relatively close but too commercial. Most of them are tour groups. We chose Mengjinglai. Don't go to the free Dai villages. They are all places where drivers earn rebates. When you come to Banna, you realize that there are too many places where drivers and tour guides get rebates. It's a rebate for food, accommodation and entertainment. It's better to travel freely!

The paddy fields, fish ponds, and Tallinn in the Zhaizi are solemn and solemn. There is a divine tree that has flown over a thousand years and two large banyan trees that have been "hugged" together for more than 200 years. They are called "couple trees" by the villagers. All married men and women must come to the tree to worship.

Can you guess what fruit this will produce?

。。。。。。

。。。。。。

。。。。。。

The answer was announced: dragon fruit!

Many families in the stockade raise chickens and ducks (I haven't seen anyone raising dogs). The chicken family walks around during the day and knows how to go home at night!

Mengjinglai has preserved many traditional Dai handicrafts, such as sugar squeezing, pottery making, weaving, wine making, iron-forging, papermaking, etc.

In the sugar squeezing workshop, we put a sugarcane into a wooden sugar squeeze. Like a pushing mill, the ancient machine creaked and a large cup of freshly squeezed sugarcane juice was baked. It was extremely sweet. After filtering the sugarcane juice, it can be boiled into pieces of brown sugar.

The folk customs here are simple and simple. There are several beautiful handmade notebooks in the papermaking department. If I want to buy them, the old lady said not to sell them and would leave them for others to visit. However, these skills are all elderly people, and our 18-year-old tour guide Xiaoyu said that she no longer knows how to do them.

The healthy 102-year-old grandma in the village is selling fruits. We bought a lot of them.

Mengjinglai Dai Village is adjacent to the Daluo River on the China-Myanmar border river. There are 229 boundary monuments in the middle of the village (attached monument, the monument is on the mountain). The Daluo River flows through the village, forming a national border. On the other side of the river are the mountains of Myanmar. There is also a boundary monument in symmetrical places.

You can also stay in Zhaizi for one night. There are several hotels that provide accommodation like this.

[Anantara in Banna Residence]
There are two houses in China, Anantara, Sanya and Banna, and it is said that the third house is going to be built in Mount Emei.

Outside the back door of the hotel is the Botanical Garden, which was newly opened in 2013. It has a strong Dai style building, a clear infinity swimming pool, and the Luosuo River below. It is beautiful to lie on the balcony and count the stars at night.

Because it is on the way to Wangtianshu and adjacent to the Botanical Garden, staying here for one night can save more than 100 kilometers.

There are very few guests, not to mention the hardware, and the software is also very good. Jackfruit drinks, welcome fruits, and good night snacks are welcome. The waiters at the door can all know the hotel guests, and everyone is full of smiles and enthusiastic. It happened to my sister's birthday, and she also sent a birthday cake, which is very suitable for a vacation.

[Banna's Food]
1. Wangtianshu Scenic Area Entrance

Local specialties: (1) stir-fried tomatoes with banana hearts, which are crispy, and this dish tastes very good;(2) stir-fried chicken offal with banana flowers (3) scrambled eggs with stinky vegetables (4) braised chicken, which is raised by a farmer and has just been slaughtered. The taste is so great. I have never eaten chicken before I rush to get off.

2. Cai Qingchun: Thai food with high reviews online, the taste we are not used to is 1km away from Manting Park. The boss and waiter are all Thai. When I checked the bill, I found that they were all in Thai and I didn't recognize any of them (sweat)

3. Dai flavor: On the way to Mengjing, the restaurant recommended by the innkeeper is very affordable (the restaurant is actually located at the entrance of the Lone Tree Forest Scenic Area)

The restaurant received dozens of travel agency group meals (prepared early and wrapped in plastic wrap). The travel agency guests arrived later than us and ate much faster than us. They finished eating and left in less than half an hour

We followed the group meal and changed a few dishes. The key recommendations are Bao roast pork and pineapple rice, which are better than Thai food.
Dai flavor Baoshao is a special method of cooking food among the Dai people in Xishuangbanna. Wrap the ingredients with banana leaves and cook them over charcoal fire, so that the wrapped dishes will not lose flavor and the nutrients will not be lost. I heard that Dai flavor Baoshao is made only when guests come during the holidays.

4. Manfeilong Roast Chicken: People in Banna love barbecues. This roast chicken restaurant is very famous. There is also one in Gaozhuang West. There is no queue number and you have to grab your own position. The roast chicken deserves its reputation!

Grilled fish with lemongrass is also a Dai specialty and is very delicious. The green bamboo slices are sandwiched between the fish and roasted with an open fire. They have the fragrance of bamboo. The fish belly is also placed with Dai's special sauce "Tomato Nanmi". Tomatoes and millet spicy are grilled with charcoal and then added with wild coriander, fragrant seeds, green peppers and other seasonings.

The fruit-frangipani tastes a bit like egg yolks. It has little moisture but is very sweet

【Tips】
1. Banna has a subtropical climate. November to May is the dry season and peak tourist season. The most crowded times are April's Water-Splashing Festival, Spring Festival and National Day.
2. Airplanes are the most important part of travel expenses. There is basically no discount on round-trip from Beijing to Banna. We chose to round-trip from Tianjin. The airfare is 40% cheaper, which is all contributed to Anantara.
3. Anantara is adjacent to the Botanical Garden. If you want to go to Wangtian Tree, it is recommended to stay at Anantara or Botanical Garden Hotel for one night so that you can have enough time to play every day (the Botanical Garden Hotel is under renovation this year).
4. The weather forecast for Banna is for participation only. In the past few days, we have forecast moderate rain and only a few minutes of light rain. In the past few days, we have forecast showers and the result is a sunny day, and people are dying of heat under the sun.
5. Banna mainly relies on chartered cars. On the first day, I booked a car from Taobao. At first, the driver was very enthusiastic and took us to visit a free Dai village. We didn't buy anything (Later I learned that it was a rebate.) On the next day's itinerary, we were asked to enter the jade store and we had to come out after 20 minutes. We disagreed. Then we asked to add an attraction to the third day's itinerary (there was also a rebate). Otherwise, the charter fee would be increased from 500 to 700, and we would not look for him for the next two days. Later, we rented a car from the inn. The inn made money by accommodation, so there was not so much mess. It is recommended that it is safer to charter a car from the inn, or say in advance not to enter the store or go to the attractions he recommends, and ask how much it will cost.
6. About tour guides: Tickets for Banna attractions are very expensive, and so are tour guides. Each ticket costs 100. Personal advice is to hire a tour guide. The tour guide explained to us the characteristics of various plants along the way in Wangtianshu, such as the "man's flower" without a "heart" is poisonous, and the mysterious fruit will feel sweet when eaten. It only takes an hour and a half to see it in Mengjinglai Village. We chatted with the tour guide Xiaoyu while walking, and played for three hours without realizing it. Unfortunately, we lived close to the Botanical Garden, so we got up late. When we arrived at the Botanical Garden, the last tour guide was invited away, so we had to stroll around the Botanical Garden blindly.
