After five years, I came to Pu 'er again.

Five years ago, I visited the Xiniuping Scenic Area of Taiyang River National Forest Park in Pu 'er, Yunnan, and I still can't forget the red pandas and big rhinoceros there. In China's largest and most complete subtropical monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest, many rare animals live happily. Their innocent appearance is enough to warm a tired heart. I know how precious they are and what they mean to mankind, so over the past few years, I have often wondered, how have they been recently? So in early autumn, I decided to go to Pu 'er again to go on a wonderful journey with small animals and fulfill my inner promise.

……

Pu 'er Taiyang River National Forest Park

Overlooking Pu 'er Taiyang River National Forest Park, the largest oasis on the Tropic of Cancer, and China's last animal and plant paradise.

The red panda in the Xiniuping Scenic Area is the most popular elf in this forest, and the little pet in the Taiyang River Forest.

Take the ancient tea-horse road again and shuttle through the time tunnel of the Tang, Song, Yuan, and Qing Dynasties.

The Little Panda Manor is located 37 kilometers southeast of Simao District, Pu 'er City, Yunnan Province. It takes about an hour's drive from Pu' er Simao Airport to the Little Panda Manor. It was late at night when I traveled from Shijiazhuang to Kunming and then to Pu 'er on this trip. After eating three bowls of rice noodles with different flavors, I checked in. Due to the humidity in the subtropical rainforest, the hotel lady turned on an electric blanket in advance and prepared wild mountain fruits. It is said that small animals will knock on the door in the middle of the night at the Little Panda Estate. They are curious and a little timid. They sleep with the sound of crickets on their head, hoping to encounter different stories deep in the dense forest.

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

The Little Panda Manor is surrounded by mountains, with no urban pollution, abundant negative oxygen ion content, and wild animals, red pandas, are also present. The manor is integrated with nature. However, the little cute on the entrance sign is a model, and it looks real from a distance.

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

The reception area of the Little Panda Manor is like a natural paradise. Ancient vines are wrapped around the outer walls. It is not easy to find from a distance. Only when you get closer can you see its true appearance. This is the true atmosphere of nature, allowing you and your family to forget time and enjoy the elopement of your soul here.

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

What can you think of from the appearance of an immortal's cave abode: Eldest Brother, the master was captured by a demon?

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

Raising my small plane, I could see more completely this area that retains the largest and most complete subtropical monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest in China, and the only scenic spot in the country that can interact closely with many rare wild animals in the wild environment.

The schedule at the Little Panda Manor is not stressful, but the happiest thing is that you don't have to get up early every day. Hidden in the dense forest, the manor's restaurant serves a variety of Yunnan cuisine and other dishes. What I must eat every morning is Yunnan rice noodles. Clear soup, beef, spicy or not spicy are mixed according to my own taste. My day in Pu 'er starts with a bowl of rice noodles.

There are two types of rice noodles and rice skins in the restaurant. I still prefer rice noodles, but I usually don't put chili peppers in it. Of course, if you can, you can put more chili peppers in it.

Yunnan has no shortage of fruits for all kinds of freshly squeezed fruit juices. They are very fresh and taste more delicious than those found in the north.

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

Dining here is not only to taste delicious food, but also to enjoy a state of mind that integrates into nature.

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

This is the only hotel in China with the theme of red pandas. The 78 rooms are all single-family wooden houses scattered in the virgin forest.

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

The considerate hotel lady prepares some wild fruits for me every day, including chestnuts, longan, pomegranate, etc., which are different every day, but they are all what I like.

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

Although the hotel is hidden in the jungle, it is not far from the forest trail, and the battery car is also available on call, which is very convenient. Since there will be red deer wandering leisurely and freely on the road, there may be red deer knocking on your door at night.

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

There is a rustle outside the house in the early morning, and it is likely that it will be the red panda or red deer outside the door to wake you up.

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

The most pleasant thing is to sit on a heavy wooden seat on the balcony, drink a cup of green tea, listen to cicadas singing and birds singing, and feel the refreshing breeze. This kind of life is comfortable and warm.

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

The large bathtub is placed in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows, giving you a panoramic view outside the window as you enjoy the bath. The seasons here are like spring all year round, so the room does not need air conditioning, but there are wooden fans on the roof to adjust the temperature, which is nostalgic and romantic.

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

Different rooms cater to the needs of different guests, but the interior of each room is five-star standard. Bathroom, cloakroom, scenic balcony, queen bed room, double room, and family suite are all my favorite styles.

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

The building materials used in the room from the inside to the outside are high-quality old boat wood. The bathroom is made of bamboo and wood and has a bathtub located in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows. The interior decoration is mainly ecological, including ancient frames carved from old boat wood, leisure tables and chairs, Collected desks, TV cabinets, etc. Each room also has a private safe for storing valuables, as well as bottled drinking water provided by the natural twin well.

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

Outside the house, ancient trees are towering, green vines are densely covered, birds call and cicadas are chirping. Every object and scenery in the house are unique, exquisite and unique. Come here to house stacked warehouses and forests, pillow the stars of the Hanlin Mountains, and watch leisurely animals. It really made my soul elope here.

The forest coverage rate in the manor reaches 97%, and the content of negative oxygen ions in the air is extremely high. In the morning, I practiced yoga with Teacher Afu here to cultivate my heart and respond externally to things to explore the realm of the unity of nature and nurture.

Pu 'er Kaiyuan·Little Panda Manor

Teacher Afu is from Beijing. In order to escape the noisy life and pollution of the city, he sold his property in Beijing, quit his decent job, and resolutely left Beijing with his family to come here. Teacher Afu explained us a lot about yoga, fasting, and health preservation. Under his leadership, each of us gained new insights in this dense forest.

During a few days in Pu 'er Taiyang River National Forest Park, I had a one-stop forest tourism experience. Many projects brought me unexpected surprises and gained a lot. I shared my happy time in Taiyang River with you.

This is my second time to come to Xiniuping Scenic Area. When I first came here in 2013, it had just opened. Although all the facilities were not perfect, I have liked it since then.

Pu 'er National Park Xiniuping Scenic Area

I took a group photo with the young guide who led the team when I visited in December 2013. I wonder if the little girl is still working here.

Pu 'er National Park Xiniuping Scenic Area

Xiniuping Scenic Area has subtropical monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forests and rare wild animals and plants. From entering the park to ending, you can pass through many areas where animals live. This is currently the only park in China that can have such close contact with wild animals.

Pu 'er National Park Xiniuping Scenic Area

The main tourist areas of Xiniuping Scenic Area include eight major scenic spots, including rhinoceros retreat, macaque paradise, fish shadow tracing river, Alsophila spinulosa path, Monkey Peninsula, Jiaoguatang Wetland, traveling red pandas, and Monkey Park, as well as national song and dance performances.

Pu 'er National Park Xiniuping Scenic Area

The Pu 'er Taiyang River (formerly Caiyang River) Basin was once an area where rhinos were widely distributed. However, since the last two rhinos were killed in 1933, there have been no rhinos in this land for 80 years. In order to reappear rhinoceros in Yunnan, Pu 'er National Park and Yunnan Wildlife Park have launched a scientific research project to "rebuild the rhinoceros population". After nearly three years of consultations with South Africa, South Africa finally agreed to introduce 9 wild rhinos to Yunnan, China. Two of them live in the Yunnan Wildlife Park, and seven are wild and bred in the Rhino Ping Scenic Area of Pu 'er National Park.

Pu 'er National Park Xiniuping Scenic Area

Under the cover of guardrails, you can feed the rhinoceros. The breeder said that because the rhinoceros has many parasites on its skin, they often soak their bodies in mud to kill the parasites. In addition, its head and ear parts are particularly fond of being touched. It sounds so interesting that everyone is eager to try it.

Pu 'er National Park Xiniuping Scenic Area

In the Macaque Paradise area, we first saw beehives climbing on trees. Their lazy appearance reminded people of the sloths in "Animal City". They looked intoxicated and unwilling to wake up. Only by putting food in front of them will it reach out lazily to get it, and then sleep with its head in its arms.

There are many macaques here, with clear hierarchical status and clear division of labor in the macaque group. The Monkey King always looks like a bully and is full of boss style.

Pu 'er National Park Xiniuping Scenic Area

Generally, it is okay to tease big monkeys. They seem to ignore you. If you tease small monkeys, they will quit and grin at you, posing as if they are fighting to protect the safety of the little monkeys.

The Yuying River Tracing Area is where several baby fish are raised in the pond, and they are named because their cries are like children's cries. Baby fish have very high requirements for water quality. Five years after I came here, they are still living a good life. The tour guide said that their age is equivalent to that of adults. They are all adults.

Pu 'er National Park Xiniuping Scenic Area

Babyfish, also known as giant salamander, is an amphibian. Among the amphibians, it is the largest, with a total length of 1 meter or more, and the heaviest can exceed 100 kilograms. Giant salamanders inhabit streams in mountainous areas and live in caves with clear water quality, low sediment content, rapid water, and return water.

Pu 'er National Park Xiniuping Scenic Area

The tour guide said that the baby fish have a strong ability to withstand hunger and will not starve to death if they are raised in cool water for two to three years without eating. It can also overeat, and a full meal can increase one-fifth of your body weight. When food is scarce, there will also be the phenomenon of cannibalism among the same kind, and even hunger with eggs.

Pu 'er National Park Xiniuping Scenic Area

In the Alsophila spinulosa path area, Alsophila spinulosa is a plant contemporaneous with dinosaurs. It is the only existing woody fern. It can be called a national treasure and is listed as an endangered plant under first-level protection by many countries. There are four species in Pu 'er National Park: Chinese Alsophila spinulosa, large-leaf black Alsophila spinulosa, vein-binding black Alsophila spinulosa, and white Alsophila spinulosa. They often grow under forests or in shady and humid places on both sides of rivers and valleys.

In the Yape Peninsula area, Pu 'er National Park has a natural peninsula called the "Yape Peninsula", which is naturally formed due to the long-term erosion of forest streams. On the island, the main animals that are active all year round are "gibbons", which are national-level protected animals.

Pu 'er National Park Xiniuping Scenic Area

This man is called Uncle Monkey Zhang Xingyu and calls him "Uncle Monkey" because he can always get along harmoniously with monkeys and gibbons. The animals in the mountains and forests are wild, love freedom, and are naughty. Sometimes they will make fun of the observers and make fake moves to scare them. Therefore, some new observers are a little afraid of monkeys and gibbons. But when Zhang Xingyu was around, they would not only be obedient, but also always like to get close to him and play with him.

Pu 'er National Park Xiniuping Scenic Area

The name of this ape is Ding Ding. Although it is dark, it is still relatively handsome. He is very obedient and will also joke with the keepers and have a temper. When he is naughty, he will also swing in the tree, flying around the eaves and walls, like a ranger as light as a swallow, coming and going without a trace.

The Jiaguatang Wetland is a natural wetland lake. The reason why this lake is called "Jiaguatang" is because an edible "Jiaguatang" grows in this lake. During the "famine" in the 1950s and 1960s, it was the Jiaguatang melons here that saved the lives of many local people. This wetland is an ideal home for various wading birds. Egrets, gray cranes, oriental white storks, yellow-billed storks, white-napped cranes, etc. inhabit it all year round.

Pu 'er National Park Xiniuping Scenic Area

The traveling red panda, this nameless hill in Pu 'er National Park, is surrounded by forests. Only this mountain is unique. It has no towering trees, let alone birds of prey, but it stands among the mountains and has become a little panda's travel paradise. We call it the "traveling little panda".

Pu 'er National Park Xiniuping Scenic Area

The red panda is a national second-class protected animal. It is larger than a cat. Its limbs are brown-black, its body hair is long and fluffy, and the brown and white nine-section ring pattern is very popular, so it is also called the "Nine-Section Wolf"".

Pu 'er National Park Xiniuping Scenic Area

Red pandas are quite common and popular animals in zoos around the world. Because he is gentle and easy to tame, people are often raised as pets. Although they are still widely distributed in the wild, their population is declining due to reasons such as hunting, trading, and the reclamation and destruction of the environment where they live.

Pu 'er National Park Xiniuping Scenic Area

Therefore, the Xiniuping Scenic Area allows red pandas to thrive in such a purely natural environment, striving to retain this gradually decreasing close friend of mankind here through artificially assisted reproduction, and shoulder the important task of expanding the red panda population. By then, Pu 'er Taiyang River National Forest Park will become the largest red panda breeding base in the country.

Jock Park is a place where all kinds of birds gather, but most of them are young birds that do not have the care of their mother birds and do not have the ability to survive independently. It is because Pu 'er National Park is rich in bird resources. After every storm, some young birds will fall under the trees. The bird mother thinks that they are no longer viable and ruthlessly abandons them. After the ranger in the park picks it up, it will be carefully taken care of by special animal observers until the young bird is fully fledged and released back into the forest.

Pu 'er National Park Xiniuping Scenic Area

There is also an entertainment venue in the Xiniuping Scenic Area, where you can watch wonderful folk song and dance performances for free in the performance hall every day from 11:00 to 11:30 and 14:30 to 15:00.

The one next to me is Teacher Fu. He used to be a teacher at the High School Affiliated to Peking University for 15 years. Anyone who comes into contact with him will be blessed. He had been to Pu 'er once and decided that this was the place that really suits him, so he came to Pu' er and was destined to be a forest experiencer in Pu 'er National Park. He has a wide range of knowledge and likes to use funny demonstration movements to explain. Tourists all like it. Relax moments with him. He also gave me a lot of guidance and encouragement throughout the jungle, which enabled me to pass the customs perfectly.

Forest Hiking in Pu 'er Taiyang River National Forest Park

The 3-kilometer forest hike is about to begin. The person who led us is Professor Wen Feng, a plant science researcher. He will explain various precautions to everyone before traveling, and pay more attention to the small plants around you during the hike.

Forest Hiking in Pu 'er Taiyang River National Forest Park

Walking in the forest has begun, and the local Hani beauty is very dazzling in the team wearing national costumes. Although she wears low-heeled shoelaces, climbing mountains is like walking on flat ground. She is worthy of being a native mountain dweller.

During the hike, Teacher Wenfeng will explain to you different plants, which are poisonous and will make you itchy, and which can still be eaten. When you are at the end of your life, you can save lives in an emergency.

Forest Hiking in Pu 'er Taiyang River National Forest Park

Teacher Wenfeng was born and raised in Pu 'er. He is a person with a story. He liked to follow his father through the mountains and forests since he was a child, asking questions whenever he saw plants he didn't recognize, and asking every time he saw them until he got tired of asking his father. Later, he was able to go to the mountains alone to collect Chinese herbal medicines. In order to let more people remember the mountains and forests of his hometown, Teacher A Feng not only bought special books to study, but also became the chief forest experiencer of Pu 'er National Park, bringing them from afar. Tourists brought them into the mountains and forests, and used witty language and touching stories to really remember those magical Chinese herbal medicines.

During the hiking process, some of our friends fell behind, so a few of us took a fork in the road. Finally, there was no way to walk before we found ourselves lost. Fortunately, there was a signal. By asking for help, the captain came back to help us. From entering the forest to walking out, we actually spent two and a half hours on the 3-kilometer journey.

Pu 'er Taiyang River National Forest Park, the most romantic camping trip, afternoon tea in the forest, the aroma of coffee fills the humid air, refreshing the heart.

Romantic afternoon tea

Walking three kilometers out of the forest, we were greeted with a very ceremonial picnic with authentic Wa hand-pilaf, served with pickled cabbage, peanuts and laoba dried rice. This form of catering originated from the fact that when they were doing farm work in the fields, they had to bring rice pilaf with their hands, so it was improved and developed into a stylish picnic rice pilaf that was deeply liked by everyone.

Some people also carved wooden boards under the guidance of Teacher Xu. The lovely Teacher Xu and I are fellow countrymen. Tonight, we begin a late-night exploration trip in Pu 'er Taiyang River Forest Park. After night, the forest quieted down. A group of uninvited guests like us overhead searchlights and began to search for various creatures deep in the dense forest. Small snakes in the grass, caterpillars, spiders, and stick worms under the leaves, grasshoppers who were having sex, and many unknown little moths. At night, this is their world. Such a form is a little scary and a little exciting. What should I do if I encounter a snake late at night? Will you encounter a supernatural event?

I just want to say to these cute little babies, I'm sorry to disturb everyone's rest!

Wonderful Night in the Forest

I met a small snake in the woods. The teacher said that this snake is non-toxic and don't be afraid.

Wonderful Night in the Forest

I also found a hornet's nest that settled down under the earthen cliff. If you must not disturb it during the day, it would be miserable if you attacked in groups...

An unknown insect. Does the dazzling light disturb its rest?

It's not good for a grasshopper who is having sex in the middle of the night to watch other people's private lives like this.

Isn't the wonderful night in the forest very interesting?

The traditional tea-making process is picking, withering, green, rolling, sun-drying, screening and weighing, pressing, drying and packaging. Today we have simplified it and only have a few simple experiences such as green, weighing, pressing, and packaging. Experience the program, but I am very happy to be able to make my own Pu 'er by myself.

The process of killing the green requires constantly turning the tea leaves in an iron pot.

Weighing 200 grams cannot be more or less.

Then he stood on the stone pier and pressed it into shape.

After packaging, it can be stored. There is no problem storing it for decades.

After leaving Pu 'er Taiyang River National Forest Park, we began to walk the ancient tea-horse road again. The Tea Horse Ancient Road Tourist Scenic Area is 45 kilometers away from Taiyang River Forest Park, about an hour's drive, and 5 kilometers away from Simao Urban area. It is located in a picturesque subtropical jungle surrounded by mountains and rivers. The ruins of the Ancient Tea Horse Road in the scenic area are an important section of the ancient tea horse road running north-south. It is the starting point for tribute tea to enter Beijing. It is also the most complete preserved and mileage to date. The longest, the most profound culture, and the best ecology along the road. Let's take a journey back to the ancient tea-horse road.

Yinma Lake originates from Tuanshan Reservoir, which has excellent water quality. The flowing water is gurgling, clear and sweet. The passing caravan brought a team of people who were tired of the dust and came here, and they always had to rest. Take a break, hold a hold of the lake water and drink it in one gulp, sharpen it, and set off again.

Speaking of Dingbo Lake, there is also a beautiful legend. It is said that in March every year, a fruit forest by the lake is full of fruits and dazzling red. The condor in the sky is attracted by the touch of red when passing by here. He wanted to fly down and find out. Unexpectedly, there is a sudden storm and the lake is turbulent. The ferryboat caravan on the lake is in danger. The condor flew into the fruit forest and brought a bright red fruit into the lake. The lake is calm and calm in an instant and level as a mirror. The caravan can pass smoothly, hence the name Dingbo Lake.

In the Mojiang River in Pu 'er, known as the "place where the sun turns", at noon on the summer solstice every year, as long as you stand on the Tropic of Cancer, you can see the astronomical spectacle of "standing on the pole without a shadow". Mojiang is the only city crossed by the Tropic of Cancer, which divides the Mojiang River into tropical and temperate zones. There is also a mysterious twin well dating back to 1800. It is said that if you drink the water from the well, you will conceive twins. There are actually more than 1200 sets of twins living in Mojiang's population of 400,000. This is not only true for humans, but also for animals and plants. The phenomenon of twins is also very common. In the Mojiang Tropic of Cancer Sign Park, you can also find many novelties from another angle, like eyes, fish transcendence towers, and smiling Twin Stars Square.

During the National Day of the Communist Party of China, there will also be the "National Day Windmill Festival", open-air movies, starry sky camping, and Hani Pig Pig Rice ~

Tropic of Cancer navigation tower photographed by drone. The main museum is in the shape of half the earth, and the two lines on it respectively identify the position of the Tropic of Cancer and the Equator on the earth. At noon on the summer solstice every year, sunlight passes through the 23.26-meter peephole of the main tower and shines directly on the small copper plates inside the tower. You can intuitively see the magical astronomical wonders of "standing poles invisible" on the Tropic of Cancer.

Since Mojiang is the only Hani autonomous county in the country, and the Tropic of Cancer happens to pass through the county seat, one-third of the county seat remains north of the Tropic of Cancer, in the north temperate zone, and two-thirds remains south of the Tropic of Cancer, in the subtropical zone, which is unique in the world. As a result, Mojiang had the romantic love of "you are in the temperate zone, I am in the tropics".
