I saw on my social media that someone else was taking their children to experience tea picking, carrying a small basket and wearing a headscarf, which looked very cute. I thought about taking my own children to play too. When I asked, it was in the Yashan Geological Park, not far from Yangzhou, so I took advantage of the rest day to drive my family of three to play.
After driving for about an hour, we arrived at our destination. After purchasing tickets, the staff gave us baskets, aprons, and headscarves. After putting them on, they took us to the tea field and told us how to pick tea. They reminded us that after picking tea, we could go to the tea making workshop to see the tea making process. The tea we picked ourselves could be exchanged for a small tea bag.
When I was going to the tea field, I encountered a student team picking tea inside and happened to have a chance to explain. According to the tour guide, the Naishan Geological Park is a shield shaped ancient volcano formed by volcanic eruptions over 10 million years. Naishan tea trees are rooted in fertile volcanic ash soil, which is rich in various trace elements beneficial to human health. Therefore, they are known as "volcanic tea", and Naishan tea does not spray germination promoting agents, resulting in excellent tea quality.
While picking tea, we took photos (with a focus on photography). When it was almost time, we went to the tea making workshop where someone was manually frying tea. After watching for a while, the staff reminded us that the boiler temperature had reached 180 ° C and not to approach it to prevent burns. We couldn't help but feel that frying tea was not easy.
Fortunately, after equipping ourselves, we were ready to enter the park because the staff introduced that the entire journey of Mount Nai is six kilometers long and takes two to three hours to walk. Considering that climbing with children is too tiring, we chose to take a car.
Yashan is divided into two lines, east and west. The East Line Museum has an immersive science popularization film that is said to be very shocking. As the broadcast time is approaching 11 o'clock, we took a car directly to the museum. This immersive experience hall adopts holographic imaging and laser projection technology that integrates sound, light, and electricity. The 720 ° fully immersive experience allows people to "experience" the explosion of the universe, the evolution of the Earth, and especially the spectacular scenery of volcanic eruptions directly forming the basalt pillars of Mount Na. My son shouted excitedly, especially when the dinosaurs came out, he was so excited.
After watching the movie, we had a simple meal at the museum restaurant and continued our tour. While waiting for the bus to pick us up, we also enjoyed the view of the large stone pillar. The large stone pillar here is a geometric basalt rock pillar formed during the rapid cooling of basaltic magma during volcanic eruptions.
After the car arrived, we directly got off at the Beishi Slope on the western route. The stone pillars here are more distinctive, just like their names, they are tied together like sleepers. Standing under the stone pillars, seeing these naturally formed stone pillars, I couldn't help but marvel at the amazing craftsmanship of nature.
Walking up the bundled stone slope, you will arrive at Guolao Creek. There is a cable-stayed bridge and waterfall here, which is said to be named after Zhang Guolao resting here. Tourists on both sides walk on the cable-stayed bridge, and some intentionally shake it. It is also interesting to see everyone's happy or scared expressions.
Overall, it was a pleasant trip where I not only enjoyed the scenery of Mount Nai, but also learned about volcanic relics and other knowledge through the museum's science popularization movies and introductions to various locations. There are also places for barbecue and camping along the route. If there is a chance, come back for a barbecue.
