I come to Yangzhou every year to have a date with delicious food.
Although I have visited Yangzhou countless times, my favorite place is still the ancient alleys and old houses
He Yuan
The first garden of the late Qing Dynasty
Heyuan, also known as "Jixiao Mountain Villa" and hailed as the "First Garden of the Late Qing Dynasty", is a Han classical garden building that was first built in the mid Qing Dynasty.
The biggest feature of Heyuan is its ingenious design of cascading and complex corridors, which maximizes the functionality and charm of corridor architecture.
Built by He Zhizhen during the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty. The original site of Heyuan was an ancient garden during the Qianlong period, named Shuanghuai Garden. Many celebrities have lived here before. Famous Chinese painting master Huang Binhong visited Yangzhou six times and resided on the east first floor of the Horse Riding Tower.
Mr. Zhu Qianhua, a famous writer, lived in Heyuan for more than five years. His old residence was on the second floor east of the Horse Riding Building. Among them, the Pianshi Mountain House is a masterpiece created by Master Shi Tao, which can be regarded as a unique masterpiece in the world. It is known as the "number one garden in late Qing China".

Lu's Salt Merchant Residence
It is the largest luxury residence of salt merchants in late Qing Dynasty in Yangzhou, known as the "first floor of salt merchants" and the Lu salt merchant residence. The owner of the house is the wealthy businessman Lu Shaoxu. It is reported that this house was built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, covering an area of over 10000 square meters. The construction of this house cost more than 70000 taels of silver. It has become the most dazzling pearl among many with its sprawling architectural complex and exquisite architectural style, and is undoubtedly a new highlight of Yangzhou's ancient city culture.
If Yangzhou is the most Chinese, then Guxiang is the most Yangzhou. Step by step, like walking in the ink painting of Jiangnan. The old city of Yangzhou contains over 500 historic alleys.
Pishi Street
Pishi Street is a precious fossil that has been preserved in the "slow historical city" of Yangzhou. Pishi Street was once known as the "Leather Goods Street" in Yangzhou. Leather goods have always been a symbol of fashion and elegance since ancient times. Yangzhou, a prosperous city in history, naturally had a leather goods business and eventually formed the "Leather Goods Street". This street is Pishi Street.
Now we have arrived at Pishi Street
My first impression is that literature and art are exemplary

【 Land Official 】
The stories of the old streets, the cuisine of the old streets... are the most unique emotions of this city, and also the hidden and lesser known flavors in Yangzhou. And a large part of a city's scenery lies in its "flavor".
Land official This is an old street that intersects with the southern end of Guanxiang in the east and Sanzhu'an Street in the west. The short and less than 100 meter long old street has been occupied by three large residential buildings, Wang's Xiaoyuan, Ding's Residence, and Ma's Residence, forming a complete group of "big residential buildings" for salt merchants.
Wang's Small Garden is a luxurious mansion built by Anhui salt merchant Wang Zhuming. It is quaint and elegant, yet still exudes a sense of wealth and prosperity. The garden includes a boat hall, flower hall, study room, refined house, rockery, fish pond, flowers, plants, and trees.
Ding's Mansion
A talented woman from Yangzhou once resided here
The renovated Ding's salt merchant residence is very grand, with blue bricks and small tiles, carved beams and flower windows, upturned eaves and corners, rockery corridors, and water pool pavilions, forming a "big mansion gate" group together with the surrounding Ma's salt merchant residence and Wang's small garden.
