Yangzhou is a city that can calm people down.
Yangzhou is slow, slow Yangzhou. This is the first leisure and health city in East China, and it is a place worth visiting for Huaiyang cuisine.
This is my second time going to Yangzhou, and I spent five days slowly experiencing this city.
This ancient city with a history of 2500 years has many accolades: World Heritage City, World Capital of Cuisine, World Canal Capital, East Asian Cultural Capital, National Historical and Cultural City, and a scenic tourist city with traditional characteristics.
And my trip to Yangzhou felt like I was either eating or on my way to eat. During the meal break, I also wandered around many places, but there were still many places where I hadn't checked in.
Canal Sanwan Park, Daming Temple, Shouxi Lake, Songjiacheng, Tangcheng Ruins, Wenfeng Temple I also experienced back massages and foot repairs, and soaked in hot springs Sighing, this is such a leisurely city.
By the way, the high-speed rail to Yangzhou will be available soon on July 1st, making it even more convenient to go there.
Fireworks in March in Yangzhou ", although March has passed for a long time and I haven't seen the blooming flowers and fluttering willow catkins in Yangzhou city, every trip to Yangzhou gives me a good feeling.
The slow life of Yangzhou people is like 'being wrapped in water in the morning and covered in water in the afternoon'. What exactly does it mean? Let me take you to experience it together.
Morning bag waterIn the morning, go to have a cup of Yangzhou morning tea, and then taste the Dim sum with Yangzhou characteristics. This is the so-called "leather bag water".
For five days in Yangzhou, I ate different morning teas for four days, each meal had its own characteristics, and it was difficult to choose.
That morning, I went to the renowned century old shop: Yechun Tea House. There is a large tea pot hanging in the air at the entrance, pouring water loudly, which has attracted tourists to take photos here as a souvenir, and it is also a check-in point for Ye Chun.
Yechun Tea House has a history of over 200 years, mainly focusing on Huaiyang snacks and snacks. The surrounding environment is covered with thatched water pavilions, with rippling blue waves, curved outlines, and surrounded by green shade It's very Jiangnan.
In Yangzhou, there is always a feeling of misty rain in the south of the Yangtze River.
But geographically speaking, Yangzhou is indeed north of the Yangtze River, but its Jiangnan charm is not lacking just because it is north of the Yangtze River. As a city in the north of the Yangtze River, its Jiangnan charm surpasses many other cities in the south, and has even become a representative of Jiangnan culture in the hearts of Chinese people.
Suddenly, the sound of music began. It turned out to be a local opera enthusiast in Yangzhou, singing Yangju opera here. Although I don't understand, it feels great.
After listening to it for a long time with my friends, we talked about this spring and provided such a venue for performance enthusiasts to showcase and let diners experience Yangzhou's opera. It's really great.
Most of the people who come here for morning tea are locals, including a family of three and a few friends who have made plans. Yechun's tea snacks can be ordered individually, even if you are alone, you can come here to have morning tea.
There are several small dishes and a pot of tea on the table. The tea is Yangzhou green tea "Green Yangchun", which is a popular drink among the locals in Yangzhou.
After having breakfast for over an hour, people dispersed and we stayed, so we took a photo of our visit here to reminisce about this slow paced Yangzhou in the future.
A black egg and a pigeon egg are served in red Yangzhou lacquerware.
Yangzhou lacquerware is a specialty of Yangzhou and one of the traditional crafts with Chinese characteristics. It is very delicate. Yechun Tea House showcases local culture in this way, which is also a great fusion.
Yechun's morning tea is delicate and small in size, allowing for a wide variety of flavors to be enjoyed. This jade shao mai, although called shao mai, does not contain glutinous rice and only wraps shepherd's purse. It is highly recommended.
Hot dried silk is a small dish that tests chefs' knife skills in Huaiyang Cuisine. China on the tip of the tongue once introduced that almost every meal in Yangzhou will be eaten.
This small bowl is just right.
Does this dessert look like a finger switch?
Crab roe soup dumplings are definitely worth trying. But how to drink all the soup requires skill. The mnemonic is: gently lift, slowly move, open the window first, then drink the soup Try it yourself next time.
You must also try the fine sandbags and diced buns here.
Wu Ding is made from diced sea cucumber, diced chicken, diced meat, diced bamboo shoots, and diced shrimp. Before I could take a photo of you, I had already eaten it.
The final dessert is tofu pudding, which is really not enough to fill my stomach, I can only taste it. The strong scent of osmanthus flowers makes tofu pudding surprisingly sweet.
In Yangzhou, I always feel that my little belly is too big to hold. I ate so many buns because I didn't want to miss any of them.
Afternoon water foreskinIn the afternoon, taking a bath in a bathhouse in Yangzhou is called 'water foreskin'. After playing all day, I decided to experience the "water foreskin" at night, which is very down-to-earth.
This Yangzhou back rubbing restaurant is highly recommended by all those who have experienced it. It's really comfortable!
Yangzhou is renowned as the "hometown of back rubbing". Back rubbing in Yangzhou is an important part of Yangzhou's bathing culture and a unique traditional Chinese medicine therapy.
Surprisingly, back rubbing in Yangzhou is still an intangible cultural heritage, and the "Technical Requirements and Service Standards for Bathing and Back Brushing" in Yangzhou has been officially listed as a national industry standard, truly a masterpiece in the world.
On the first floor wall, there is a clear price tag. I chose the Yangzhou back rub for 128 yuan for 60 minutes, and the Yangzhou famous teacher for foot repair for 30 yuan.
Yangzhou back rubbing includes three parts: "rubbing the back", "ironing the back", and "tapping the back". "Eight light, eight heavy, and eight thoughtful" is the essence of Yangzhou back rubbing.
After thousands of years of inheritance, constantly exploring, refining, and summarizing the exquisite techniques, only those who have personally experienced them can understand. Enter the double room on the third floor, where two aunties provide one-on-one service.
Auntie Rubbing the Back said: Each guest has one bath, and each guest will undergo disinfection and water change during the bath. Moreover, everyone can witness the master's disinfection and water change process on site.
It is worth mentioning that the back rubbing auntie does not use a bath towel, but wraps a towel around her hands to rub her back, which is very gentle and does not hurt at all.
The one hour process includes taking a bath, rubbing the back, rinsing, moisturizing with milk and aloe vera, wrapping the back with a hot towel, and rinsing Every pore is truly refreshing.
Then I had my feet fixed in the hall, lazily lying down and chatting with the foot repairman. The master is skilled in technique and has removed all the dead skin from his feet, making it smooth.
'Water wrapped skin' and 'water covered skin' are the two major pleasures of Yangzhou people. Really, it's worth coming to Yangzhou just for these two reasons.
