The 'Spring Wave Bridge' that spans across the river appeared ahead. This bridge was originally a scene in the "Four Bridges of Smoke and Rain". Unfortunately, the original bridge has been destroyed. The one we see first was rebuilt in 1991. The bridge has a straight and uninteresting shape, seemingly unrelated to the words' spring waves'.

The left bank is' Xu Yuan ', and the right bank connected by Chunbo Bridge is' Xiao Jinshan'. Both of these attractions are planned to be visited on foot. Looking at the water surface first is also a prelude.

The arch bridge in front is the "Jade Plate Bridge". The arch shape of the bridge is very beautiful, forming a sharp contrast with the Chunbo Bridge, which truly deserves the description of "jade version".

The pavilion on the left bank is famous as the 'Fishing Platform'. Watching from the water surface provides a better visual experience.

I saw the "Wuting Bridge" ahead, which is the iconic building of Shouxi Lake. The Wuting Bridge, set against the backdrop of green water and blue sky, creates a natural picture as beautiful as a fairyland, truly enchanting!

The official name of Wuting Bridge is "Lianhua Bridge".

In the 22nd year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1757), Gao Heng, the salt inspector of the two Huai regions, mobilized salt merchants to raise funds to excavate the Lotus Ridge New River leading to Pingshantang to welcome Qianlong's second southern tour. He also invited skilled craftsmen to build this Lotus Bridge, modeled after the Wulong Pavilion and Seventeen Arch Bridge in Beihai, Beijing.

The Lianhua Bridge is 58 meters long, with three bridge spans. The middle span is 7.13 meters and the small span is 3 meters.

In the fifth year of Xianfeng (1856), Wuting Bridge was destroyed in the war of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. In the 21st year of the Republic of China, Wang Bailing initiated fundraising to rebuild Wuting Bridge. Wang Bailing personally wrote the "Wuting Bridge Chronicle", which was written in regular script by Chen Hanguang and erected on the bridge by Wang Guangquan. Nowadays, this monument no longer exists.

The Lotus Bridge has undergone multiple major repairs in the future. Today's bridge pavilions are supported by 28 red columns. In the center of the bridge is the pyramidal roof Pavilion with four corners and double eaves, and four wing pavilions with four corners and single eaves pyramidal roof Pavilion with four corners. Granite stone railings are installed on the outer side of the bridge, with stone lions carved on the railing heads. The bridge deck is paved with coarse granite stones.

The cruise ship passes under the bridge, and you can see the four wings below the bridge, with fifteen winding holes that connect to each other.

This is the "Lin Xiangxie" in the "White Pagoda and Clear Clouds" scenic area. The two characters "Lin Xiang" or "Lin Xiang" come from a poem by Wang Han of the Tang Dynasty: "Spring fragrance fills the forest, spring outing cannot be forgotten. Couplets: "Famous Garden Leaning on Green Water; Immortal Pagoda Liyun Village" is a collection of Tang Dynasty poems by Du Fu and Ma Huaisu, handwritten by Lai Shaoqi.

I saw Xichun Terrace ahead. The "Xichun Terrace" was built by Yangzhou salt merchants to celebrate the birthday of Emperor Qianlong, and this scenery is one of the "24 Scenic Spots" - the "Spring Terrace Bright Moon".

Xichun Terrace is the most magnificent building in Shouxi Lake, and its magnificent decoration shows the strong financial strength of Yangzhou salt merchants.

The cruise ship is docked at Xichuntai Pier. Everyone goes ashore and looks up at the magnificent Xichun Terrace.

The 'Xichun Terrace' that we see now has recently undergone major repairs. The Xichun pedestal faces west to east and is built on a three story pedestal. The building consists of two floors and three columns, with two eaves resting on the mountaintop, flying eaves with upturned corners, and covered with green glazed tiles. Add a pavilion in front of the hall and set up corridors on all sides. Hang a horizontal plaque reading 'Xichun Terrace' under the eaves. The two words "Xichun" are taken from Laozi: "The crowd is bustling, like enjoying too much prison, like spring on stage

Under the lower eaves hangs a plaque reading 'Spring Terrace Wishing Birthday', written by Kang Yin. On both sides are couplets written by Mr. Qigong: "The scenic spot is located in Huainan, watching the clouds and shadows in the sky, blending with the level of autumn; under the flat boat crossing the bridge, asking where the sound of the flute is, someone blows until the third day of the lunar month

Looking north here, the single arch bridge spanning the water surface is the most famous Twenty Four Bridges.

The Twenty Four Bridges, famous throughout the world for a poem by Du Mu titled "To Judge Han Chuo of Yangzhou": "On a bright moon night at the Twenty Four Bridges, where can jade people teach how to play the flute.

I always thought that the "Twenty Four Bridges" in the poem was a general term for Yangzhou. I came here 20 years ago and only then did I realize that 24 is just a bridge!

It is said that the Twenty Four Bridges were originally brick bridges of the Wu family, named after twenty-four beautiful women who played the flute here during the Tang Dynasty.

The original Twenty Four Bridge has already collapsed. What we see now is the reconstruction during the restoration of the Slender West Lake. The bridge is a single arch stone bridge with a length of 24 meters and a width of 2.4 meters. It has 24 railings and 24 levels of platforms, which may have been sought during its construction and corresponds to 24 in every aspect.

In fact, in ancient times, the metric system was not used, and those numerical designs were actually fabricated.

Although the Twenty Four Bridges are famous, they are actually just a newly built stone arch bridge. There is still a long way to go before leaving here. Because I went there last time, I don't want to walk over this time. Just took a few photos in the distance and it was done.

The building under the Twenty Four Bridges is called the "Cross Pavilion" because its plan is in a cross shape.

There is a horizontal plaque hanging under the eaves of the front, titled 'Twenty Four Bridges Bookstore'.

There are horizontal plaques hanging on both sides, which are couplets written by Mr. Wu Rangzhi, a famous seal engraver in the Qing Dynasty: "Open the book and travel for thousands of years; hang the curtain and heart in the mountains.

Across the river is the Wanhuayuan Scenic Area. I don't want to go because the road is far and the core attractions are all on this shore.

Walking along the riverbank, strange stones, flowers, and small bridges adorn the scenery along the way. The building under the bridge is the "Qingyun Xuan" restaurant.

Then I saw the Wuting Bridge ahead.

As we walked under the bridge, Wuting Bridge kept changing its angle. Showing off every beautiful posture of him.

At the foot of the bridge, I saw the horizontal plaque "Lianhua Bridge" at the bridgehead, which was handwritten by Yi Bingshou, the governor of Yangzhou during the Jiaqing period.

The island under the bridge is called 'Fu Zhuang'. The scenery is also charming, but unfortunately I don't have time to go.

Arriving at the "White Pagoda and Clear Clouds" scenic area under Wuting Bridge.

The first thing I see is this tall white tower. This is a Tibetan Buddhist pagoda, which is probably unparalleled in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions.

It is said that Emperor Qianlong went to Jiangnan and arrived in Yangzhou. The emperor was taking a boat ride on the Slender West Lake. The cruise ship arrived at Wuting Bridge and pointed to the island in front of it, saying, 'This place looks so much like the spring shade of Qiong Island in Beihai, the capital city, but unfortunately it's missing a white tower.'.

Upon hearing this, the local salt merchant immediately invited craftsmen to work overnight and built a white tower modeled after the North Sea on the island designated by Emperor Qianlong, using white salt packets.

The next day, when the emperor saw the suddenly rising white tower, Long Yan was overjoyed. He exclaimed in unison, 'The salt merchants in Yangzhou are the wealthiest in the world, truly deserving of their reputation.'.

After the departure of Emperor Qianlong, local salt merchants officially raised funds and built this white tower in the 49th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign.

Compared to Beihai, this white tower is lower and thinner, making it appear more upright and beautiful.

The pedestal of the White Pagoda stands on a high platform, surrounded by stone railings. Fifty three stone steps are laid out with white stones, symbolizing the fifty-three ginseng statues of the benevolent and wealthy children worshiping Guanyin.

The front of the high platform is inlaid with the inscription "White Tower and Clear Clouds".

The White Pagoda is divided into three parts:

The bottom part is the base, on which there are lotus pedestals and diamond rings supporting the tower body.

The middle level is a niche room, and there is a "vision door" on the south side, which houses a statue of a white clothed warrior.

The top layer is the tower brake. The lower layer of the tower brake consists of thirteen layers of conical phase wheels, the middle layer is a hexagonal treasure cover with wind chimes hanging from the corners, and the top was once a copper gourd tower.

(unfinished, to be continued)
