I have been to Yangzhou, a famous city on the left bank of the Huai River and a beautiful place on the west bank of the Zhu River. I have been to it time and time again, such as Shouxi Lake and Wuting Bridge, Heyuan, the "number one garden in the late Qing Dynasty" where Huang Binhong lived, morning tea in Yechun and Fuchun, the prosperous Dongguan Street by the ancient Yun River, and the Shigong Temple covered with golden silver apricot leaves in autumn... No wonder ancient people would "wrap their waists around 100000 yuan and ride cranes down Yangzhou", because there are so many fun places in Yangzhou!
Dongguan Street used to be not only a major transportation hub for water and land in Yangzhou, but also a commercial, handicraft, and religious cultural center. Now it is a landmark of Yangzhou, bustling with activity year-round. But when I went, it was raining and there were few people around, which was not good for business people, but for me, it felt very peaceful.
The sculptures on the street allow you to intuitively experience the approachable, easy-going, and down-to-earth nature of one of the "Three Knives of Yangzhou".
Because of the rain, the old street is very quiet. This leisurely and slightly petty bourgeois pattern is similar to the Kuanzhai Alley in Chengdu, the Shikumen in Xintiandi in Shanghai, the east of the old gate in Nanjing, and the Tanhua Forest in Wuhan, which are the soul of a city.
If you come to Yangzhou in autumn, remember to go to Shigong Temple to see ginkgo trees.
The Shigong Temple on the banks of Meihua Ridge is the tomb of the national hero Shi Kefa. Standing here, I think of Jiang Baishi's "Yangzhou Slow", and then look at the couplets in front of the hall: Counting the tears of the fallen plum blossoms, the heart of the former minister is divided by the bright moon. The ginkgo trees in the courtyard suddenly give me a sense of tragedy and solemnity.
Fallen leaves are like butterflies, everywhere, under the eaves, in the grass, on the steps... Every year when the ginkgo trees turn yellow, this is the most popular place for photography enthusiasts.
Of course, don't forget to come to Shouxi Lake, which is renowned for its "abundance of gardens, unparalleled in the world".
Slender West Lake is a belt shaped landscape composed of city moats from different eras such as the Sui, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, and has always maintained an interactive relationship with the Grand Canal as a water source. The original name of Shouxi Lake is Baobao Lake. During the Qianlong period, the poet Wang Hang from Qiantang came to Yangzhou to admire its beautiful scenery. After admiring its beauty, he wrote a poem saying, "The weeping poplar continues to catch up with the broken Wu, and the Yan toothed Hongqiao is like a painting." He called it the Slender West Lake, which is still in use today. The beauty of Shouxi Lake is vividly portrayed in poetry.
Yechun's morning tea is the favorite of old Yangzhou people and an experience that every tourist who comes to Yangzhou cannot miss. The antique hall, even the waiters, dressed in cute Chinese style vests, had breakfast as if sitting in a garden.
Wonton with shrimp seeds, one at a time, is delicious.
Crab roe soup buns, when eating, first use a small straw to gently pick a hole on the bun, drink the soup, and then eat the bun. Otherwise, as soon as you pick up the chopsticks, the soup will drip out, which would be a pity!
The fun of Yangzhou is not just about experiencing the beautiful scenery of the gardens, but also adding a different kind of excitement and challenge to this trip as a dream city. The park is open and has no entry threshold for 0 yuan. This means that if you just want to stroll around, take photos, or eat something, you don't have to spend money on tickets!
Before entering the gate of Dreamtime, screams could be heard. Upon closer inspection, the hurricane pendulum was swaying back and forth, left and right, and the sound came from above
The flying boat was surfing, swaying back and forth, left and right, and screaming loudly... But when the boat was about to come to a stop, the two girls on top saw me taking photos and, amidst their busy schedules, set up their POSS facing me. It was so cute!
There are quite a few exciting projects here, such as spinning flying chairs that can throw people into the air, time buses that lose control, and spike catapults that rapidly rise and then suddenly fall... each one can make your adrenaline soar rapidly!
A few simple cottages attracted me, go over and take a look.
Originally, this was a cultural and creative garden, with a few bamboo poles and a bay of flowing water, as refined and elegant as simple strokes.
Each small house is an artist's studio, some collecting various jade and accessories, some calligraphy and painting, and some classical musical instruments.
A large red bridal box with floral patterns. When I was a child, I saw it on my grandmother's dressing table. It was a must-have for women in the old days. When closed, it was an exquisite small box. When opened, the back was a mirror, and inside were jewelry, rouge, and powder
A small and exquisite shell screen, no longer than the size of a book, is a great object to enjoy on a desk.
This one is a collection of various calligraphy and painting works. Yangzhou is a city with rich cultural heritage, and it is only natural and logical for many famous calligraphers and painters to emerge.
Entering the Guzheng Art Studio, there are various guqin instruments on the walls and two zithers on the table.
The method of making guqin also divides into different schools. When I see a qin called 'Zhongni style', people always associate it with Confucius because of its name. It is the simplest and most elegant of all qin shapes, implicit and generous. I think the so-called 'simplicity of the Tao' is also the same principle!
The sister guarding the shop saw that I was interested, sat down, waved her ten fingers, and played a song. The sound of the qin was like a clear stream, gurgling and flowing, quickly attracting several people to open the door and enter.
The Millennium Yangzhou Experience Hall, where you can take a time train and immerse yourself in a fantastic and magnificent dream world. In just ten minutes, you can experience the millennium charm of Yangzhou, which has been bustling since ancient times.
The rail car slowly slid, and on both sides of the walls, the various dynasties of Yangzhou were projected. It felt very wonderful, as if watching a movie while being a person in a painting.
Pavilions and towers, small bridges flowing water, and a full moon hanging high. In a daze, as if wandering by the shore of Shouxi Lake, 'Three parts of the world are bright moon nights, and two parts of scoundrels are Yangzhou'!
Yangzhou has been prosperous since ancient times due to salt, and by the Ming and Qing dynasties, it had become the center of salt transportation in the south. This painting depicts a bustling scene of salt workers carrying bags, supervising officials, and salt merchants negotiating business on a busy salt transportation dock.
Let out a sigh, the rest of my life is too late, I won't be able to witness the glory of Yangzhou in that poem with my own eyes. It's also good to catch a glimpse of the leopard.
Guangling Ghost Market? Guangling, I understand. What is the Ghost Market, the ancient name of Yangzhou? However, the little brothers and ladies standing under the sign were quite generous. When they saw the camera, they immediately posed professionally and gained a good impression.
There doesn't seem to be anything strange about it!
But when I walked in, it was a bit inexplicable, with a dark cave like entrance and a strange and terrifying sound faintly coming out... I asked the ticket checking girl: What's inside? Miss smiled and replied to me, 'If you're too timid, don't go in.'.
So what's inside? Tell me when you go!
A voice came from above, oh, this looks so leisurely. I need to go sit down for a while.
The Canal Cable Car runs around the Canal Heaven and Earth Area. The car travels slowly along the track, overlooking the entire park. Under its feet is a constantly changing scenery, with clear water, bustling streets, and crowds flowing along the river
But I think it's best to take the canal cable car when it's getting dark, lazily sitting on the car, watching the sky dyed with purple and blue smoke, and the lights shining brightly like stars.
Guangling Qinyuan is very suitable for sitting and viewing, with pavilions, towers, and flowing water, which is a typical classical garden style. There are also performances here. If you want to experience them, you can check in during the performance time~
Guangling Academy is a two-story ancient building. Walking in, you will find exquisitely carved railings and painted buildings everywhere. This place is usually used for holding art exhibitions, traditional studies, and more.
The puppet park is probably a place that both adults and children love. Look at these two cute little puppets on the roadside!
Come to the Time Experience Hall here, watch a puppet show, explore the profound heritage of puppet art, and learn about the past and present of Yangzhou puppetry. It's also very interesting!
The puppets in the puppet park have diverse styles. Look, this black bearded old man wearing a white scholar robe, I think it's the real Bai Juyi walking towards us.
Coincidentally, there happened to be a cockfighting shadow puppet show.
Two male chickens were fierce and unyielding, flying and jumping off as if they were alive. If it weren't for the faint lines behind the curtain, who would have dared to say that these were two puppet chickens?
When a big centipede joined in, the rooster immediately became united and worked together to deal with the centipede, which amazed me.
When I entered the Dynamic Cinema, I didn't have high hopes, thinking that I must have put on my glasses again and watched a 4D or 5D movie or something!
Walking in, I realized that I had thought it simple. The deep blue lights, black seats, and cool metallic and mechanical feel were everywhere, which made my eyes light up.
Everyone put on their glasses, fasten their seat belts, pick up the electronic gun on the side of their seat, and the game of Speed Justice begins. Aim, shoot, and the characters on the screen will fall to the ground in response!
It has to be said that the game is designed to be extremely fun, with swaying and constantly tilting seats, changing scenes on the screen, and even the electronic gun in hand, all with a slight recoil after shooting, everything is lifelike! A few young men next to me were playing while shouting, 'It's so fun!' They were completely engrossed.
At the end of the game, rankings will still appear on the screen, and competitive sports rankings are the most important!! The game is over, you must see how many places you got!!
Mirror Maze, step inside, there are many themed venues, each with a different style.
This is like entering a magnificent palace.
This room feels like being in a mysterious planet world.
Although the space is not large, due to the principle of refraction of mirrors, it looks like it is boundless. Many girls, when photographed inside, refuse to leave.
This room feels like being in the middle of a golden wheat field, dreamy and romantic. My friends are busy taking photos and have dispersed. Let me take a selfie!
Passing by the Dreamy Ice Valley, go inside and take a look!
The staff told me to put on a coat and go inside, it's between minus 7-15 degrees Celsius.
Walking in, it's like a heart chilling sensation! The venue is very large, with fine snowflakes floating in the air. It's really free to switch from summer heat to a world of ice and snow in just one second.
As dusk approached, more and more people began to gather in the central square of the Canal World District, bustling with activity. Three or two friends or family members, let's relax together, enjoy the breeze, and have some food and drinks in the bar street. It's really relaxing~
There are many restaurants and beverage shops distributed in the park, and there is also KFC at the entrance. The prices are very affordable, which is really great! Do you have any braised dishes? Buying a bag, sitting on the roadside nibbling, watching the bustling crowd passing by, is also very interesting.
There is also a bar street in the Canal World District, with randomly placed small bamboo chairs. It exudes a homely and warm atmosphere. Remembering my childhood when I sat on a bamboo chair reading, doing homework, and helping my mother choose dishes.
Immersive sitting, reaching out your hand, you can touch the clear water.
The dreamlike city at night, utilizing light and shadow, performing arts, and open projects and neighborhoods at night, creates night tour products with different atmospheres, forming a rich and layered night tour experience route, allowing tourists who come here during the day to experience more, and making night time tourists unable to stop.
At night, some exciting sports activities have stopped operating, but dynamic cinemas, light picking experience halls, chance encounters with wooden horses, canal drifting, Cantonese music and art scenes, etc. can still be played and are still very colorful.
The magical light show is a reserved program for the park at night.
Within the towering tower, the vermilion fruit has fallen for thousands of years, and the Five Elements Elves gather in the most beautiful summer of Yangzhou to create a three-dimensional effect of sound, light, and electricity. The historical and cultural elements of Yangzhou are cleverly integrated with international fashion elements, creating a large-scale immersive light show with innovative visual perfection.
Do you still want to miss this dream city in early autumn?
