The second time I came to Yangzhou was not in the colorful March and April, but in the silent winter.

In fact, I am not a person who likes to travel in winter, but this time I came to Yangzhou in early January by chance, and everything was better than I expected.

In this warm winter when the temperature is rising, we stroll along the Slender West Lake in the evening. The Wuting Bridge gradually turns into a beautiful silhouette in the sunset. There are no noisy voices on the way forward, and the air is a soothing tranquility.

On a sunny day, we rode a boat on the ancient canal. As the scenery on both sides faded, we arrived at the Chinese Ancient Canal Museum, which was completed in recent years. While marveled at the novel design and rich exhibits here, we also met the most beautiful sunset on this trip in the evening.

Yangzhou in winter has a cold temperament, just like a woman in plain clothes. Although it is not strong, it is also refreshing.

This is Jiangnan in the warm winter. She is a poem from the old times that is eloquent.

geyuan| Moon Yingzhu has thousands of words

Speaking of Yangzhou, the most unavoidable things are Geyuan, He Yuan and Slender West Lake. Most tourists would choose between Geyuan and Heyanli, but we chose to visit both.

The first stop is Geyuan, which is very close to Dongguan Street. Geyuan is famous for its bamboo and rockery. It is known as the four famous gardens in China, together with Suzhou Humble Administrator's Garden, Beijing Summer Palace, and Chengde Summer Resort.

The owner of the garden loves bamboo very much, so a large amount of bamboo is planted in the garden. Because bamboo leaves are reflected on the wall under the illumination of light and form many "ge" characters, this place is named "Geyuan".

Although it is winter, the bamboo forests in the garden are still green, and large areas of green forest add a lot of vitality to the garden in winter.

The garden is full of pavilions, small bridges and flowing water. We, who like to take pictures of ancient styles, happily took pictures at the moment.

Continue walking forward and you will gradually see the second highlight of the garden: the four seasons rockery.

Four Seasons Rockery is a rockery with the theme of "Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter" made of four different stones in different places in the garden.

The spring scenery is at the entrance to the south of Guihua Hall, where bamboo shoots and bamboo are used to create the scenery. The summer scenery is on the left side of the spring scenery, where blue-gray Taihu Lake stones are stacked, and the stones are stacked like clouds and mist.

Further forward is the autumn scenery made up of rough yellowstone. Pavilions are set up on the top of the autumn mountain, forming the highest scenic spot in the park.

The winter rockery is in the small courtyard in the southeast, and the winter mountain is made of white Xuan stone. In addition to rockery, there are also a group of snow lions of large and small, jumping or lying, sitting or standing, and they look extremely cute.

Wandering around the four-season rockery in the garden, I really admire the designer's ingenuity and creativity.

I think this is also the reason why we love gardens. The true nature of this world is full of fun and aesthetics.

Heyuan| Exquisite No. 1 Famous Garden in the Late Qing Dynasty

Compared with Geyuan, He Garden should be more suitable for photography enthusiasts. The mountains, windows, corridors and pavilions here are all beautiful. Walking in He Garden, many scenery have different beauty no matter which angle you look at. It is really worth spending more time exploring here.

He Garden was built by He Zhiyan during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. After resigning from office, he came to Yangzhou to settle down. He purchased the Pishishan House and expanded it, and named it Jixiao Villa.

Because of his surname He, this place is commonly known as He Garden.

The Shuixin Pavilion in He Yuanli is one of my favorite and most famous places. This Shuixin Pavilion is the only underwater opera pavilion in China. It is specially used for the owner of the park to watch operas, dance and enjoy the cool scenery.

This Shuixin Pavilion is really beautiful no matter what angle you look at. Walking around it will give you many beautiful angles. If you come to the second floor, it will look different from top to bottom.

Next to the Shuixin Pavilion, we also found a budding magnolia tree. When the flowers bloom, it will be beautiful here.

The Fudao Corridor in Heyuan is also a highlight. The Fudao Corridor here is more than 1500 meters long and is known as the prototype of China's overpass.

There are many good-shaped hollow windows along the corridor, and beautiful frame structure compositions can also be photographed through these windows.

Walking along the corridor, you can see the appearance of the room where the owner once lived.

Compared with other ancient gardens, He Yuan was built in the late Qing Dynasty, so the room decoration is more integrated with Chinese and Western.

I remember that the first time I came to Yangzhou many years ago was in April. At that time, Yangzhou was bustling, and the Heyuan in winter gave me a different feeling.

I think I will come here again, but I don't know what I will feel like then.

slender West Lake| In the evening glow, there is a faint fragrance of wintersweet

Finally we arrived at Slender West Lake, which is known as "the prosperity of gardens and the best in the world".

I believe many people who come to Slender West Lake are curious about the relationship between Yangzhou's "skinny" West Lake and Hangzhou's West Lake.

After checking the information with questions, I learned that the poet Wang Hang came to Yangzhou because of his admiration. After enjoying the beautiful scenery here, he compared it with the West Lake in his hometown and wrote a poem: "The weeping poplar continues to pick up the remnants, and the geese 'teeth and the bridges draw pictures. It is also a pot of gold, so it should be called Slender West Lake."

It was originally named Baoshan Lake, and later renamed Slender West Lake.

The Slender West Lake in winter is a little bleak, but before the flowers are in full bloom, the golden wintersweet has already jumped on the branches, exuding its unique fragrance.

Wintersweet blossoms in winter always bring surprises to people. Every time I follow the fragrance of flowers and see a tree blooming, I always feel an indescribable touch. This is the plum blossoms that come from the bitter cold.

Between the flowers and branches, there are still magpies with long tails jumping. They are also a touching touch of life in this bleak winter.

Under aerial photography, the Slender West Lake is like a green gem. Although it is a winter day when it is not sunny, the color of the water is still beautiful.

There are small bridges, pavilions and antique buildings on the water, and the yellow-roofed antique boat moving on the water becomes the finishing touch in this picture.

If the most representative building in Slender West Lake is said to be Wuting Bridge.

This Wuting Bridge is built in imitation of the Wulong Pavilion and the Seventeen-Arch Bridge in Beihai, Beijing. It has both the south and the north.

In the twilight light, this place is full of the story of old movies. There are a few light orange shades in the sky and the lake. We no longer rush and quietly enjoy the tranquility of winter here.

Just as the fragrance of plum blossoms comes from the bitter cold, the Slender West Lake in winter also breeds life. In the January breeze, we are also looking forward to the new life that belongs to this year.

tianning temple| A red wall is the most touching

In addition to the famous Geyuan, He Yuan and Slender West Lake, Yangzhou also has another place suitable for photographing ancient customs: Tianning Temple.

Tianning Temple is not big, but the red walls here are really easy to shoot. I believe friends who like to shoot ancient styles will understand that the red walls are really popular ~

Tianning Temple in Yangzhou is one of the eight famous temples in Yangzhou in the Qing Dynasty. It was rebuilt in the summer of 1984. The entire building layout is very symmetrical. On the central axis, there are Shanmen Hall, Tianwang Hall, Daxiong Hall, and Huayan Pavilion.

It has a very traditional Chinese beauty, with a completely symmetrical structure and a red and black color scheme. This kind of building looks really comfortable.

For travel and sightseeing, the area is not large and can be seen in less than half an hour. However, for those who like ancient customs and photography, it is worth staying here more time to take pictures.

It was a little cloudy when we came in the morning. If the sun came out and there were shadows on the red walls, the place would be even brighter.

Pishi Street| Gathering place for literary and artistic shops

Not far from He Yuan, there is a small Internet celebrity street in Yangzhou: Pishi Street.

Leather goods have been a symbol of fashion and elegance since ancient times. Yangzhou, a wealthy place in history, certainly had a leather goods business, and eventually formed the "Leather Goods Street", which was called Pishi Street.

Now the renovated Pishi Street has become a gathering place for young people in Yangzhou. There are many interesting and good-looking shops here: coffee shops, barbecue shops, flower shops, etc.

Although it is a small street a few hundred meters long, we have lingered here for a long time because of the existence of many shops. If we have enough time, we can walk here to find a coffee shop after visiting He Garden. Good choice.

Dongguan Street| The most common thing is the touch of fireworks in the world

Different from Pishi Street, Dongguan Street in Yangzhou is a very traditional ancient street.

Dongguan Street after night seems to be crossing through, walking on the stone road and lingering in the ancient street full of red lanterns.

There are all kinds of shops on both sides of the street. Unlike modern commercial streets, there are also many time-honored brands, such as Xie Fuchun, Sanhe Simei, China Photo Studio, Xiemao Pharmacy, etc. This is a truly historical ancient street.

When you come to Dongguan Street, you should not miss the small theater performances in Dongrong Garden. Here, you can see Yangzhou's representative cultural and artistic activities, such as Yangzhou Qing Opera, Yangzhou Pinghua, Yangzhou Tanci, folk song joint singing, etc.

There were a total of six programs performed in this scene we watched, and I will introduce them one by one below.

The first program is Yangzhou Qing Opera "Jasmine Flower Again".

Yangzhou Qing Opera began in the Yuan Dynasty, became successful in the Ming Dynasty, and flourished in the Qing Dynasty. In 2006, it was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage lists.

Yangzhou folk song "Jasmine Flower" has a deep connection with Yangzhou Qing Opera, and this adapted song "Seeing Jasmine Flower Again" gives people a refreshing feeling in the familiar tune.

The second program: Yangzhou Tanci "Crying and Laughing Cause·First Entering the General's Mansion"

Selected passages from "Crying Karma""mistakenly entered the division commander's office." This program was transplanted from Suzhou Tanci, combined with the advantages of Yangzhou Tanci, and combined with the characteristics of being heroic in the north and showing in the south.

The third program: Yangzhou Commentary on "Jiangxinzhou"

Yangzhou Pinghua is a folk art spoken in Yangzhou dialect and is popular in Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, Nanjing, Shanghai and parts of Anhui.

"Jiang Xinzhou" tells the story of Zhu Zhengqing's calm response to danger, fighting with the true Jiangshan Dragon, and finally "faked it into reality" and obtained the Jiang defense warrant.

Fourth program: Puppet's "Face Changing"

Yangzhou's bangh-head puppets are a national-level intangible cultural heritage protection project. Together with the cloth puppet in Zhangzhou, Fujian and the string puppet in Quanzhou, they are known as the three major puppets in China. Yangzhou's stick-head puppets are praised as not real people but more like real people. Small puppets will become vivid under the control of actors.

The fifth program: The songs sang "Banqiao Daoqing" and "Pink Lotus"

Pink Lotus is a traditional tune of Yangzhou Qing Opera. This program incorporates modern pop music elements on the basis of tradition, and ancient rhymes and new sounds are played together. "Express the ancient charm with new sounds, pursue tradition in the future", bringing traditional art closer to the aesthetic interests of contemporary people.

The sixth program: Yangzhou Commentary on "Wu Song"

This program is a representative selection of the Wang faction's "Water Margin". This bibliography is vivid, exaggerated and vivid, and has the reputation of "but listening to the roar of wind and lightning everywhere, it turns out that it all depends on one mouth."

The seventh program: folk song "The Four Seasons Winds of the Canal"

In the song of the folk song "Four Seasons Winds of the Canal", the performance in the small theater also ended. Watching a performance on Dongguan Street and visiting time-honored brands is the unique slow life of Yangzhou.

China Grand Canal Museum| An unexpected joy for my trip to Yangzhou

In addition to gardens, our trip to Yangzhou also arranged to visit a newly built museum: the China Grand Canal Museum, and this museum became the biggest surprise of the trip.

We didn't take a bus to get to the museum, but chose a more poetic way: we shuttled through the ancient canal by boat and all the way to the China Grand Canal Museum.

The Grand Canal cruise ship is divided into two floors, and we naturally prefer to stay on the upper floor, where we can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way and take beautiful photos ~

After dozens of minutes of sailing, the ship will dock at the China Grand Canal Museum. This museum looks like a ship, and the whole building is magnificent. Coupled with the good weather of this day, we fell in love here at a glance.

This is a very new museum. It will be officially completed and opened in June 2021, so we are lucky to come to Yangzhou after that.

The China Grand Canal Museum covers a very large area. It has many exhibition halls and rich exhibits. If you want to visit and browse carefully, it is worth spending a day.

Due to limited time, we did not visit all the exhibition halls, but only focused on visiting exhibition halls 1, 2, 3 and 11.

Hall No. 1 is presented with the "Grand Canal| With the theme of China's World Cultural Heritage, it shows us the history and culture related to the Grand Canal through various means such as cultural relics, auxiliary exhibits, charts, photos, scenes, and models.

Hall 2: Boat boats on the canal. This exhibition hall shows us the evolution and types of ships on the canal in the changing space.

The three-dimensional real model here allows us to have a more intuitive and profound understanding of the appearance of ancient ships. The whole space is very dreamy.

Hall 3 is our favorite one, and here is titled "Born by Fate| The theme "Impressions of the Grand Canal Street" reproduces the prosperous scene along the canal. The whole landscape is very real, and you will have the illusion of crossing through if you linger here.

There is also a Hanfu Experience Store here, where you can change into a Hanfu and take photos.

After finishing our visit to Halls 1, 2 and 3, we came to Halls 11 and 12 on the second floor. What was recently on display here is the legendary beauty of Yongle Palace.

Yongle Palace murals are the typical representative of the largest scale, richest themes and highest painting skills among the existing temple murals in China.

Its mural art inherits the Tang and Song painting traditions and forms distinctive characteristics of the times.

Wandering here, the craftsmanship, color and appearance of these exhibits are extremely beautiful. If you come here during this period of time, don't miss this exhibition ~

Hall 8: The Love of the River is amazing. This is a digital special exhibition hall. Through the naked-eye technical concept of technology + art + culture, it highlights the flowing effects of sound, light, electricity, shape and color, creating a creative and highly innovative immersive experience.

Sitting quietly in this space and watching the picture in front of you change, my mood will fluctuate accordingly. If you have enough time, it is worth staying here for a while longer.

Guazhou Gudu Park| A quiet small garden beside the ancient canal

"In the water of Guazhou in Jingkou, Zhongshan is only separated by several mountains.

The spring breeze is green on the south bank of the Yangtze River. When will the bright moon shine on me?"

When we came to Yangzhou this time, we came to a place written in an ancient poem: Guazhou in Wang Anshi's "Boarding the Boat on Guazhou".

Today's Guazhou Gudu Park is full of pavilions and pavilions, and everything is full of ancient charm.

The weather was very good, and we walked here, enjoying the leisure of this winter garden.

The most eye-catching building in Guazhou Gudu Park is the Yunyun Pavilion. This Chinese-style building is magnificent and has red, yellow and gray as the main colors, and its completely symmetrical design highlights its solemnity.

Yangzhou was extremely warm on this day. We walked here, looked at the buildings, enjoyed the warm winter sun, and tasted the "slowness" that belonged to Yangzhou.

Don't miss this place for friends who like to take pictures of ancient styles. The buildings here are all new, the colors are very beautiful, and the scattered structures are also easy to compose. More importantly, there are no bustling tourists here, so you can take pictures at your will.

Chunjiang Huayue Night Art Museum| The beauty of literature is worth remembering

If you come to Guazhou Gudu Park, you can also stop by and visit the Spring River Flower Moon Night Art Museum, which is very close to here.

This art museum was built to commemorate Zhang Ruoxu and "Spring River Flowers and Night Night". The entire exhibition hall is not large, but there are also many thoughtful scene arrangements inside, which is worth seeing.

After a deep understanding of Yangzhou, I deeply felt that this place is really a place of outstanding people. In addition to gardens and ancient streets, there are also many talented people here, Zhang Ruoxu is one of them.

A poem "Flowers and Moonlit Night on the Spring River" was praised by Mr. Wen Yiduo as "a poem in a poem, the peak on the peak", and I once again recalled that exquisite poem: "The tide of the spring river connects the sea level, and the moon on the sea shares the tide. Live. The rolling waves follow the waves for thousands of miles, and there is no moon on the spring river!"...

Eat in Yangzhou| morning tea

Yangzhou is famous for its morning tea, and we naturally won't miss it when we come to Yangzhou this time.

We chose Wanfu Morning Tea located on Wanfu Bridge. The environment here is very good and the Yangtze River water is under our feet.

The dishes for morning tea include: shrimps simmered noodles, salt merchant's five diced buns, crab yellow soup buns, Qianlong nine-shredded soup, shrimp with onion fire, hot dried shredded, matsutake bamboo fungus lotus root rhyme, fruit points, and nine-stove flower tripod.

Each dish is very exquisite and the overall taste is light.

Eat in Yangzhou| Yunheyan

Huaiyang cuisine, which originated in Yangzhou and Huai 'an, is one of the four traditional cuisines in China. It is natural to have authentic Huaiyang cuisine when you come to Yangzhou.

We chose the canal banquet near the China Canal Museum. The environment here is super good and the dishes are rich and exquisite. I, a northerner, was also captured by the dishes here.

Recommended dishes: Lion's head, Huaiyang stir-fried eel shredded, dried crab yellow shredded, canal fish head Fushou quan, Wuxi oily crisp cake, Hongqiao casserole roasted mutton, Yangzhou fried rice, etc.

This three-day short trip to Yangzhou came to an end in enrichment.

This trip was lucky. We met the warm winter that warmed up in Yangzhou, and also encountered the amazing sunrise and sunset here. We also really felt the slow life of Yangzhou.

Yangzhou's slowness is the gentle and long in Yangzhou's minor tunes, the Wuting Bridge of Slender West Lake gradually recedes into the glow, the morning rise to have a sumptuous morning tea, and the boat sway over the ancient canal.

When I visited Yangzhou on the second time, I encountered a different winter scenery here. Next time, let's see you again in bloom.
