Yangzhou has a history of more than 2500 years and began in the Spring and Autumn Period, when it was called Guangling. The Grand Canal was built during the Sui and Tang Dynasties. It became an economic and cultural center and a foreign trade exchange place. Many Arab and Persian merchants also lived here. When it comes to Yangzhou, it is inevitable to remind people of the romantic poet Li Bai's "The Yellow Crane Tower Delivers Meng Haoran to Guangling". The poet watched his friends go to Yangzhou, where spring is full of longing. The poem's artistic conception is far-reaching and deep love is worthy of being a masterpiece passed down through the ages. In ancient times, the complex of fireworks in Yangzhou in March has been planted in many people's hearts. Today, Yangzhou is also one of the travel destinations that combines food culture and beautiful scenery in the south of the Yangtze River, attracting the nostalgia of countless domestic and foreign tourists. I think March must be the most beautiful in Yangzhou, but unfortunately, due to chance, I couldn't meet you at the most beautiful time. Du Mu's poem says: The green mountains are faintly and the water is far away, and the grass in the south of the Yangtze River has not withered yet after autumn. On the bright night of the twenty-fourth bridge, where does the jade man teach to play flute?
There is even a concise poem: The world is three-part bright moon and night, and two-part rogue is Yangzhou. It can be seen that the beautiful scenery of Yangzhou is not just during the fireworks in March.
This trip to Yangzhou is already in late autumn. I chose to go to Yangzhou because it is a city suitable for free and slow travel, and also because of the ancient complex. After booking a round-trip air ticket and a hotel online, you can set out. The hotel we stayed in is on Wenhe North Road near the Yangzhou Eight Eccentrics Memorial Hall. It is very convenient to Sou West Lake and Daming Temple, and there are direct buses.
The first stop we came to Daming Temple. This thousand-year-old temple was the first year of Renshou in the Sui Dynasty (601). To celebrate its birthday, Emperor Yang Jian issued an edict to build 30 towers across the country to support Buddha bones. The temple built a "Qi Spirit Pagoda", the tower is nine stories high and magnificent.
The ancient temple is also called the "Qiling Temple." Master Jianzhen of the Tang Dynasty served as the abbot of Daming Temple, making Daming Temple an important ancient temple in the history of Buddhist cultural relics relations between China and Japan. In the third year of Huichang of the Tang Dynasty (843), the nine-story sleeping tower was destroyed by fire. Later, it was recruited and rebuilt by monks, but it was repeatedly demolished. Now it coincides with a prosperous age, and Daming Temple has gone through disasters and has finally gained a new life.
Climbing the Spirit Tower, you can see the beautiful scenery of South Lake in a panoramic view. The most distinctive building of Daming Temple is the Jianzhen Memorial Hall. According to the instructions of Premier Zhou Enlai, the memorial hall was laid in 1963 when China and Japan commemorated the 1200th anniversary of the death of Master Jianzhen. Completed in 1973. The Pingshan Hall in the temple is also a courtyard with a very story.
It was built when Ouyang Xiu, a great scholar in the Northern Song Dynasty, was appointed prefect of Yangzhou. The flowers and trees in front of the hall are sparse, and the courtyard is quiet. Looking across the railing and overlooking the mountains in the south of the Yangtze River, just in line with the line of sight."From the distant mountains, we are level with this hall," so it is called "Pingshan Hall."
There is a couplet in front of the hall that says: "Crossing the river and mountains here at the foot of the hall, the prefect's banquet is celebrated with all the guests." This is a vivid portrayal of Ouyang Xiu's unrestrained life in those days.
To the west of Pingshantang is Xiyuan, a classical garden full of mountains and forests. It was built in the first year of Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (1736). Today, the garden has towering ancient trees, strange rocks, sparkling pools and water, elegant pavilions and pavilions, a lake in the mountains, and the fifth spring in the world. Ouyang Xiu of the Song Dynasty said in "A Record of Spring Water in Daming Temple":"This well is the beauty of water. "Today, when people travel to Daming Temple, they still enjoy drinking the fifth spring water in the world.
In addition, there is also an "Imperial Stele Pavilion" in the park and three Imperial Steles of Emperor Qianlong. The mountains and rocks in the park are towering, with green pines and cypresses, and the sun is shaded. Rockery, ponds, pavilions, pavilions, etc. decorate the park exquisitely and uniquely, giving a feeling of changing scenery.
Walking out of Daming Temple, not too far ahead, you will reach the north gate of Souxi Lake. The name "Slender West Lake" was first recorded in the literature in Wu Qi's "Preface to Yangzhou Chuangzi" in the early Qing Dynasty:"A river in the north of the city leads to Pingshantang. It is named Slender West Lake, and its original name is Baoshan Lake. "In the first year of Qianlong (1736), Wang Hang, a poet from Qiantang (Hangzhou), came to Yangzhou because of his admiration. After enjoying the beautiful scenery here, he compared it with the West Lake in his hometown and wrote a poem:" The weeping poplars continue to pick up the remnants, and the geese 'teeth and the red bridges draw pictures. It is also a pot of gold, so it should be called Slender West Lake. "Slender West Lake has formed a basic pattern during the Kangxi and Qianlong periods of the Qing Dynasty, and has the reputation of 'the prosperity of gardens and the best in the world'.
Slender West Lake is mainly divided into 14 major attractions, including Wuting Bridge, Twenty-Four Bridge, Lotus Pond, Diaoyutai, Xiaojinshan, etc. "The flowers and willows on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are all subject to the water, all the way to the mountains" is a true portrayal of the scenery of Slender West Lake. Its famous gardens and historic sites are scattered on both sides of the winding lake, like a long scroll of traditional Chinese paintings.
Time flies so fast. When we came out from the south gate of Slender West Lake, it was already the first lights. Hongqiao Square is near the south gate, with very convenient transportation and convenient food. It is frugal.
The next day, we first went to Geyuan for a tour.
This private garden of Yangzhou salt merchants 'residence in the Qing Dynasty is famous for its planting of green bamboos and its rockery in the spring, summer, autumn and winter. The whole park is divided into a central garden, a southern residential area, and a northern variety of bamboo viewing areas. Its biggest feature is the concept and construction of "Four Seasons Rockery." In the garden covering an area of less than 50 acres, four lifelike rockery areas have been opened up, named spring, summer, autumn and winter respectively. The entire garden is centered on Yiyuxuan. Visitors can follow the trend and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the four seasons. From the perspective of extremely strange stone use, Geyuan uses stones of different materials to reflect different seasons, with bamboo and stone as the main body and stone used for dividing peaks as the characteristic. The twelve zodiac stones symbolize spring, and the Taihu Lake stone symbolizes the scenery of the south of the Yangtze River in midsummer. The yellowstone highlights the tall and straight mountains in autumn, and the white snow stones highlight the cold feeling of unmelted snow in winter, which is amazing.
We entered from the north gate through the bamboo forest, entered the central garden, and finally came to the residential area. Outside the door of the residence is Dongguan Street, the most representative historical and cultural street in Yangzhou City. The commercial atmosphere is very strong. If you don't care, you can stroll around and eat special food.
He Garden is also one of the must-see attractions on this trip.
He Garden, also known as "Jixiao Mountain Villa", is a Chinese classical garden building built in the middle of the Qing Dynasty. It is known as the "First Garden in the Late Qing Dynasty." It was built by He Zhiyan during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. The stone mountain houses are built by Master Shi Tao's stacked mountains. work.
The main feature of He Garden is that it gives full play to the function and charm of the corridor building. The 1500-meter complex corridor is a rare sight in Chinese gardens. Diverting left and right, hooking up high and low, surrounding mountains and rivers, and climbing into the room, forming an all-round three-dimensional landscape and all-weather sightseeing space. It gives full play to the beauty of Chinese garden art and the beauty of extending in all directions. It is the earliest prototype of an overpass in China. Unconsciously, the sky is getting late, and today's trip is over. Tomorrow we will go and taste Yangzhou's delicious food. Looking forward to it……
The beauty of Yangzhou is historical and poetic, but it is also down-to-earth. When you mention Yangzhou, you can't help but not talk about its delicious food. Yangzhou is the birthplace of Huaiyang cuisine, one of China's four major cuisines. Food is often also a witness to the long history of a place's land and soil. If you go here to visit, if you can't taste the unique local food, you won't dare to say that you have been to Yangzhou. When it comes to Yangzhou fried rice, it is a famous delicacy in the world. The varieties are also extremely rich, including gold-wrapped silver, assorted egg fried rice, etc. Ingredients such as eggs, pork tenderloin, mushrooms and other ingredients are commonly used. The finished product has clear grains, which makes people appetite. In addition, it is also named Lion Head, which is similar to Yangzhou fried rice. Lion Head is also famous among Huaiyang cuisine. It tastes soft and slightly sweet, fat but not greasy. This dish is very particular when cooked. It uses pork belly as the main ingredient and the minced meat is chopped by hand. The finished product is full of elasticity, and your mouth is delicious when you take a bite. In addition, foods such as Wensi tofu, boiled dried shredded silk, soft pocket long fish, salted duck, three diced buns, crab yellow soup buns, etc. are all delicacies with Huaiyang characteristics. "Wrap in water in the morning and wrap in water at night." Morning tea is a representative of Yangzhou cuisine. A cup of fragrant tea in the morning is accompanied by chatting while eating, drinking, and going to the bathtub at night to take a bath. This is nothing more than an immortal. Although today's Yangzhou has long lost its aura of wealth among the world, morning tea culture has not been lost at all.
Speaking of Yangzhou's delicious food, you can't talk about Yangzhou's tea houses. There are many restaurants for breakfast in Yangzhou, and most of them have branches. For example, Yangzhou's famous Fuchun Tea House, Yechun Tea House, Quyuan Tea House, etc., food is the most unique. In addition, there are many non-famous steamed bun shops and noodle shops in the streets and alleys of Yangzhou, which are also deeply loved by diners.
After enjoying the beautiful scenery and tasting the delicious food, it's time to go home. Finally, don't forget to bring some Yangzhou specialties home to share with your family. All right, that's it. Looking forward to my next trip.
