September 2023 President 6 Shanghai-Wuhan Cruise Tour
This was my sixth cruise ship. In April, I visited Viking with my parents, in July, I visited the myth of the century with my family and friends. In early September, I was going to travel to Guizhou again, and I didn't return until the 10th. However, when I saw the President's six-night, seven-day trip to Wuhan hit my heart again, so my sister and I set foot on the cruise ship again.
Part 1: Small Tips:
1. Starting from the Shanghai Port International Passenger Transport Center, I arrived at the terminal based on my experience in investing in Viking last time. I found that the address was wrong. I asked the security guard all the way to find the boarding location. I dragged my suitcase for about one kilometer in the heavy rain, so I recommended asking for the specific address before boarding the ship (I called the front desk in the morning, but the front desk didn't know the specific location). This terminal is too long.
2. If possible, choose a small room. Take the balcony room on the third floor as an example. Choose a room before 340, especially for friends who have trouble sleeping. Even if the room at the back of the boat is close to the middle hall, there will be noise and shaking. Our entire trip has been shaking. Shake; I heard from friends who were eating at the same table that the room in front of them is very quiet, with neither shaking nor noise;
3. Drinking water: Shore travel is the main reason, so each person has a bottle of water on the boat and two bottles of water on the shore every day;
4. Meal upgrade: I wanted to upgrade, but I heard from the waiter that there was no room unless I shared a table with someone else. The fee was 700 per person, and I needed to apply, so I gave up;(It is recommended that the President replace the round table with a square table on the 6th, which can effectively avoid sharing tables);
5. On the first day, I was notified that I needed to board the ship in advance, but I didn't provide lunch and dinner, so I needed to bring my own; dinner could be purchased at 198 yuan for half a lobster per person. I called the cruise front desk and found that there was nothing I liked except lobster (such as steak, lamb chops, sashimi, etc.), so I gave up;
6. The entire trip is from Shanghai to Chongqing in 12 days and 11 nights. We bought the boat from Wuhan halfway. I heard that some guests originally bought the first half of the trip like us, but bought the second half after boarding the boat. So they are not allowed to participate in the shore tour during this stop in Wuhan, and you are not allowed to pay in addition, but you can get off the boat and travel by yourself. As for dinner, I'm not sure if I can eat it, because the cafeteria is definitely open, but it's not clear whether they have their names.
Part 2 President Six
President Six is an old ship, but it is well maintained, especially the water in the shower room is very large and it is very comfortable to take a bath.
I. meals
The round table in the cafeteria is relatively small and it is a bit crowded, but it is also a pleasure to get to know everyone by eating together. From nodding on the first day to reluctant to part at the end, it is also a fun part of the journey.
Everyone agreed that the breakfast was poor and the dinner was okay. At least the chef cooked it well. My sister's favorite dishes include razor clams and crayfish (they only appeared once, and the amount was not much. We guessed that it was extra from the restaurant on the 6th floor). The pictures below are our last dinner on the boat.
I prefer Western-style food, so I don't really like the meals on board. These six pictures are hot dishes with a vegetable. Basically this configuration is used every night, but the dishes will be different. There were two days when the seventh or eighth dish appeared.
There will also be 3-4 cold dishes, 2 soups, and 5-6 breads.
Watermelon among the fruits is good (most of them are sweet, but there are 2 meals that are not sweet).
The drink will be cola Sprite for the first two days, and raw coconut juice, blueberry juice, and mango juice will be better in the next few days.
Beer in the restaurant is 10 yuan per bottle. The bar on the top floor serves a free cup of instant coffee every day.
II. entertainment
1. One was a morning pingtan, which was quite nice, but I had work at the time and left after listening to the beginning.
2. There was a night party performance for the crew and guests on the ship. The dancing girls had to rehearse well, and some of them were fishing. The guests 'performances were quite decent and could also inspire everyone's enthusiasm.
3. Movies: The latest Barbie was played (I didn't know how to show the movie, so I didn't watch it); Walter Defends Sarajevo (my uncle and aunt who had dinner with went to watch it); Hello Li Huanying (I just didn't see it, so I went to watch it)
4. Karaoke and mahjong rooms; I don't like singing rooms that don't close the door and gentlemen who play mahjong with bare arms, so I can avoid them as much as possible.
III. service
The overall service is relatively average. The best waiters I met were mainly restaurant waiters, and the rooms were also cleaned well. The tip tip given before disembarking is 20 yuan per person, which is not high (voluntary, not forced).
Part 3 Shore Tour
Although the President's No. 6 boat is relatively old and the food is not what I want, the itinerary is good and the shore trip definitely exceeds my expectations.
1. Yangzhou Slender West Lake, Dongguan Street:
We set off in the afternoon and visited Slender West Lake under the guidance of a tour guide, and then had snacks on Dongguan Street in the evening. I have been to Slender West Lake, but there was no tour guide at that time, so I can listen to the tour guide's explanation and give it a different flavor.
There are Huangqiao sesame cakes, Yangzhou snacks, etc. on Dongguan Street. Unfortunately, my stomach was uncomfortable that day (fortunately, my sister bought me medicine 2 kilometers back and forth, and it was fine the next day). I didn't eat anything. It's a pity.
2. Zhenjiang Jinshan Temple, Xijin Gudu Street, Beigu Mountain
Yesterday's tour guide took everyone to visit the Jinshan Temple with the Fahai Sea. At noon, they had lunch on Xijin Gudu Street. Beigu Mountain was not high enough to climb. The entire itinerary was very well arranged, relaxed and not too tired.
3. Nanjing Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, Confucius Temple Qinhuai River scenery, Xuanwu Lake Park
Due to the shuttle bus problem at Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, Xuanwu Lake Park took only 20 minutes for this day, which was about the time for everyone to go to the bathroom.
I had lunch at Jinling Spring in Confucius Temple at noon. My sister said that the duck blood soup and ice powder were delicious
4. jiuhuashan
5. Nanchang Tengwang Pavilion, Bayi Square, Shizhong Mountain (view Poyang Lake on the mountain)
The journey on this day was quite difficult. It was a 6-hour round trip, mainly because the highway was under maintenance and needed to be detour. Otherwise, a round trip of about 4 hours would still be acceptable. There is also a group meal at noon, which is also better.
I originally wondered why I had to go to Tengwang Pavilion in Nanchang instead of looking for attractions in Jiujiang. Later, after watching the entire itinerary, I understood that this itinerary included three of the most famous buildings in China: Tengwang Pavilion, Yellow Crane Tower and Yueyang Tower.
Tengwang Pavilion: There are parts to visit on each floor
Bayi Square is just a car passing by, the tour guide can introduce it
6. Finally, here is a map of the entire itinerary of the President's 6th
Part 4 Tour in Wuhan
After confirming this trip, I began to look at Wuhan's travel guides. The original plan was:
The first day of the East Lake-dinner at the Fat Shrimp Village-night tour of the Yellow Crane Tower, the second day of the museum, and then the train home in the afternoon.
But…It rained on the first day I arrived in Wuhan, so the original landing at 8 o'clock changed to 10 o'clock. After checking in to the hotel and having lunch, it began to rain heavily on the way to the East Lake, so I decided to go straight to the Hubei Museum. The Chutian Yuehai International Hotel, which was booked a month in advance, is close to the Provincial Bohe Art Museum and relatively close to an entrance to the East Lake. This hotel should also be praised for its good location and better service.
The original plan was to ask a tour guide to explain it, but before I had time to book a tour guide, I visited in advance (I have a disability certificate, so I don't need a public account to reserve free tickets to the museum in advance), so I had to give up and rent a smart guide, but the guide didn't work because I only told the information of the exhibits, such as name, size, etc., which was not only not vivid, but also incomprehensible (there are too many rare words). You should still hire a tour guide to see the museum. It will be more interesting to understand the stories behind the exhibits.
For dinner, we went to the famous Fat Fat Shrimp Restaurant and watched my sister eat crayfish. I ate crab noodles. It tasted good. We arrived at more than five o'clock and left at seven o'clock. There is still room.
Visiting the Yellow Crane Tower at night, there are still many tourists on weekdays. There are long queues and you can enter at 7:20. The entire itinerary is arranged according to the performance information given by the Yellow Crane Tower public account:
South Gate Entrance--Echi 19.45~19.55--Cui Hao's Poetry Wall 20.05~20.15--Poetry Stele Corridor 20.30~20.40--Light Show on the Main Building of Yellow Crane Tower 21.00~21.10--Climb the Building after the end
Although this route is a bit backward, it is not far away and can ensure a complete performance.
From my personal perspective, I prefer the performances of the first three, especially the actors who are immersed in the roles they play. They also have basic skills in dancing and the songs are quite good. On the contrary, the light show in the main building feels average.
After climbing the mountain and looking at the Yellow Crane Tower, it's really a proper climb. Unlike Tengwang Pavilion, which has parts to visit on every floor. I don't know if there is no open area to visit at night, or if there is really no content. There is only a painting on the top floor. It can only be regarded as climbing a mountain and looking far away (I heard that there is, but it is not open at night)
the fifth part summarizes
This year's cruise ship can be said to have all three classes of ships. The only problem is from high to low, so I was a little disappointed when I first boarded the President's 6th. Especially after going through the rain to find a boat and failed to upgrade meals, the bed was shaking all the time, and there was no lunch and dinner, I didn't feel very good. But its ashore swim completely cured me. Although there were problems such as physical discomfort, traffic jams, and dirty toilets during the trip, the whole trip was very happy.
The eight-day journey made me very satisfied. Every day was fulfilling, busy, curious and interesting. I came back and calculated our expenses. It was more than 10,000 for two people, and the average daily average was less than 700 per person.
A very happy journey and look forward to the next departure.
