From April to May 2023, during a self-driving tour to Jiangsu and Zhejiang, I visited a garden. The picture shows the entrance of the Geyuan Scenic Area.

Geyuan is located at No. 10 Yanfu East Road, northeastern corner of the ancient city of Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province. It has won the titles of the third batch of "National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units" and the "First Batch of National Key Parks" and enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad. This private garden of Yangzhou salt merchants 'residence in the Qing Dynasty was planted with green bamboos at that time. Because the shape of the bamboo leaves looked like the word "ge", it was named "ge" Garden. The photo was taken in Geyuan.

Geyuan is famous for its stacked stone art. The rockery of bamboo shoots, lake stones, yellowstone and Xuan stones in the spring, summer, autumn and winter combines the rules of gardening with the principles of landscape painting. Geyuan is a typical private residential garden. The whole garden is divided into a central garden, a southern residential area, and a northern variety of bamboo viewing area. The photo was taken in Geyuan.

Entering the garden from the residence, the first thing you see is the moon-hole-shaped garden gate, with the word "Geyuan" written on the stone forehead on the door. The photo was taken in Geyuan.

Behind the gate of the garden is the spring scenery, the summer scenery is located in the northwest of the garden, the autumn scenery is in the northeast of the garden, and the winter scenery is in the east of the spring scenery. The photo was taken in Geyuan.

Baoshan Tower is a long building with seven towers, spanning between two mountains in summer and autumn. The two mountains are lined up in the east and west of the building. There are many mountain paths leading to the upper floor. Baoshan Tower connects the two mountains in space, and the corridor in front of the building surrounds the two mountains on the chest, which is the origin of the name Baoshan Tower. Qingyi Pavilion is a six-corner pavilion, tall and dignified, and can take over the scenery of the whole garden. The photo was taken in Geyuan.

There are many Taihu Lake stones arranged around Qingyi Pavilion, and the outside of the Taihu Lake stones is surrounded by a bend of green water. Qingyi Pavilion is beautiful under heavy protection. The photo was taken in Geyuan.

The Zhuqiu Pavilion is located on the south peak of Akiyama Mountain. It faces east to west and is built against the wall. There are windows on three sides. It is the largest building on the rockery in the whole garden. There are stone steps in the easternmost courtyard that lead to the south peak of Akiyama Mountain. The photo was taken in Geyuan.

In the middle of Geyuan's Four Seasons Garden is the "Yiyu Pavilion", with three broad towers in the east and virtual windows on all sides, allowing a panoramic view of the garden. The photo was taken in Geyuan.

The roof of the pavilion is made of black tiles common in Yangzhou, with the four corners rising slightly. There are several pieces of floral glass imported from France when the garden was founded on the east and west walls. Yiyuxuan is the place where the garden owner receives guests.
