Yangzhou in my impression is an ancient city with a long history and profound culture. Not only is "the old man leaves the Yellow Crane Tower in the west, and the fireworks fall under Yangzhou in March","the spring breeze is ten miles across Yangzhou Road, and it is not as good as rolling up a bead curtain","The world is divided into three parts of the bright moon night, the two parts of the rogue is Yangzhou"... and many other ancient poems about Yangzhou are familiar to people, and the Tang Dynasty even has the glory of "Yang Yi Yi Er".
I have been to Yangzhou twice in 2018 and 2019, mainly visiting tourist attractions such as Slender West Lake, Songjiacheng, 486, and Daming Temple. There are three main aspects that impressed me the most. One is Yangzhou's food, the other is Yangzhou's folk intangible cultural heritage, and the third is Yangzhou's environment;
First of all, let's talk about Yangzhou's food. As a thousand-year-old city, Yangzhou's food culture has a long history. It is the main birthplace of Huaiyang cuisine, one of my country's four major cuisines. It has also been awarded the World Food Capital by the United Nations (There are only Macau, Chengdu, Shunde, and Yangzhou in China), so our trip to Yangzhou can almost be said to be a gourmet journey. Not only is the taste delicious, but it also looks very exquisite. Every meal is new and does not duplicate the same every day. Especially the breakfast here is a unique one in China. It can not only be enjoyed at famous restaurants such as Quyuan, Fuchun, and Yechun, but also on a cruise ship like when Emperor Qianlong visited Yangzhou before;
When talking about one of the most impressive dishes in Yangzhou, I think it should be Wensi tofu. Not only is it delicious, but the chef can cut fragile tofu into thin lines as hair but continuous. It is really amazing. It is also the best display of the kitchen knife skills among Yangzhou's three knives.
The second is Yangzhou's folk crafts. I visited Yangzhou twice, and both times I visited the famous 486 Art Park. In it, I met many national, provincial and municipal intangible cultural inheritors, including those who make bird cages, those who make embroidery, those who make grass flowers, those who make lacquer paintings, those who make gold and silver fine works, and those who inherit three knives...
Each of them is an amazing intangible cultural heritage and a folk skill that has been passed down for thousands of years. They all admire us and let us understand what the true spirit of craftsmanship is, do one thing all our lives, and strive to achieve craftsmanship. The ultimate, at the same time, the relevant local Yangzhou departments also attach great importance to this and built a special art park and provided great support, which is worth learning from all over the country.
The last thing I want to talk about is the environment in Yangzhou, which is really beautiful. When we arrived in Yangzhou in March 2019, the whole city was like a big garden. Whether it was on both sides of the street or in the community garden, there were cherry blossoms, jade flowers and other flowers everywhere. Especially in the Slender West Lake, it can be said to be a sea of flowers, such as plum blossoms, jasmine flowers, magnolias, tulips, crabapple flowers, lilac flowers, viburnum pods, hydrangea, dogwood... It can be said that the garden is full of spring and makes people feel relaxed and happy. It is no wonder that Yangzhou ranked first in the list of China's top ten livable cities one year. It is well deserved and is no worse than Suzhou and Hangzhou, which is known as a paradise on earth.
The famous capital of Huaizuo is a beautiful place in Zhuxi! Yangzhou is a city with a long history and treasures. It has many titles such as World Heritage City, World Food Capital, World Canal Capital, etc. It is a good place to live and visit. It is a city that allows people to swim and stay for a long time.
