This time, I focused on the mazes hidden in ancient alleys, such as Xiaopangu, etc. If I don't search carefully, it will be easy to miss it.
2. Recommended routes
This route is like a maze. Walking to the end of every alley will bring surprises. It doesn't cost much, but the scenery is infinitely beautiful.

3. Specific introduction
1.[Dingjiawan]-the most primitive and real Yangzhou alleys
In the Qing Dynasty, Dingjiawan was an important settlement for salt merchants.
Today, this street called Dingjiawan has high walls and courtyards on both sides of the street. It is the most distinctive old street in the ancient city of Yangzhou. This street forms a huge "T" shape.
Blue bricks and black tiles exude the most popular flavor of Yangzhou.

2.[Under the South River]
There are many ancient wells, old houses, and ancient trees in the Nanhexia Historical District. The street structure basically remains the same as the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The overall style is extremely complete and is extremely rare among the existing ancient cities in China.
In addition to He Yuan, the first famous garden in the late Qing Dynasty, there are also many well-preserved salt merchant residences, clubs and private gardens such as Hunan Guild Hall, Xiaopangu, Jia's Garden, Erfen Mingyue Tower, Lingnan Guild Hall.
3.[Dawucheng Lane][Xiaowucheng Lane]-the most classic Yangzhou alley
Origin of the name of the alley: It was originally called Wucheng Lane. The words "Wu" and "Wu" sound like each other and are smaller than the main alley, so it gets its current name. The entire main tunnel runs from south to north and was originally the passage in front of the Jia's salt merchant residence.
4、Suchang Street Historical Building [Four Banks Office]
According to the regulations of the Qing government, salt from Hunan, Hubei, Jiangxi, and Anhui provinces had to be transported from the Lianghuai Salt Area, so a large number of salt merchants from the four provinces gathered in Yangzhou. The so-called "Four Coastal Offices" is the place where the four provinces discuss salt matters.
The original "Four Banks Office" covers an area of more than 4700 square meters. Its scope is adjacent to No. 116 Dingjiawan in the east, Dingjiawan Street in the south, Lizhentang Lane in the west (now renamed Lizhi Lane), and Zuowei Street in the north (now renamed Guangling Road). There are more than 90 houses of various types in size, combined by three vertical axes: east, middle and west.
The gate tower is very majestic and magnificent, second only to the eight-character archway style gate towers of the Hunan Guild Hall and the Lingnan Guild Hall. It is the "third" among the existing archway style gate towers in Yangzhou.
In addition, the construction and carving also have their own unique personality and style. From the perspective of roof ridges, it is an empty cross crabapple brocade ridge, which is rare among the existing archway style gatehouses in Yangzhou. The feet of flying bricks on the eaves are arranged in the shape of a small square opening in the middle, three-dimensional, convex and concave. This practice is not found in flying bricks on the eaves of other gate buildings in Yangzhou.
5.[Rolling Longjing]
The most famous ancient well in this area is named because the rotating wheels on the well look like rolling dragons when taking water.
It is said that "Gun Longjing" used to be an official well, but the well was later taken away by the Gao family nearby. Today, descendants of the Gao family still retain the Gun Longjing Monument engraved with the words "Convenience Official Well" and the contract for purchasing the ancient well.
6.[Xiaopangu]--Yangzhou's famous private garden
Xiaopangu is a classical garden building built in the Qing Dynasty. In Dashuxiang, Dingjiawan, Zhou Fu, the governor of Liangjiang, purchased Xu's old garden in the 30th year of Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1904) and rebuilt it. In the park, rockery peaks are dangerous and dangerous, Cangyan explores water, deep valleys, and winding stone paths, hence the name "Xiaopangu".
Xiaopangu is unique in Yangzhou gardens. Compared with Geyuan and He Yuan, Xiaopangu covers a small area and does not have many buildings and rocks. However, the beauty is that it is concentrated and compact, so that the few are better than the many, that is, the small one can see the big one.
Xiaopangu is generally divided into three parts. The middle is a hall, the left and right of the hall are fire alleys, and the east of the alley is the garden. There are lakes, mountains and beautiful stones in the garden. The name is "Jiushitushan". It is the treasure of Xiaopangu's town and garden. It is named because its rocks and rocks look like lions exploring fish.
In the eyes of the older generation of garden experts and masters, the value of this garden can be compared with Geyuan and He Yuan.
She is a superb work of Yangzhou gardens, a treasure of Chinese gardens, and plays a decisive role in Yangzhou gardens.
7.[Jia's Salt Merchant Residence]
Jia's Salt Merchant Residence is a national key cultural relic protection unit. It is located at No. 1-5 Dawucheng Lane and No. 263 Guangling Road. It includes two parts: the garden and the Erfen Mingyue Tower garden, covering an area of 3200 square meters.
Among them, the garden was built by Jia Songping, a salt merchant during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty; and the Erfen Mingyulou garden, which is older, was built by the Yuan family during the Daoguang period, and purchased and merged by the Jia family during the Guangxu period. It is understood that when the Jia family was at its peak, the areas around Wucheng Alley and Xiaowucheng Alley, as well as the Erfen Mingyulou Garden, were his family's residences and gardens.
The last time I went there, I was undergoing repairs. After the epidemic passed, I had to go to Yangzhou again in March.
8.[Xincang Lane][Jushi Lane][Suchang Street]
Xincang Lane:It is named after the salt warehouse in the old days. The Lingnan Guild Hall in the eastern section of the alley was built by salt merchants in the Qing Dynasty at a cost of more than 9000 taels of silver. The "Xuyuan" at No. 37 of this alley was the former residence of Wei Yuan, the first person to "open his eyes to the world" in the late Qing Dynasty. Lin Zexu, Gong Zizhen and others all once lived in Xuyuan and chatted happily and became friends with Wei Yuan.
Su Changjie:The old people are familiar with their origins. "In the past, the god worshipped in the opera world was Lao Lang, but the temple dedicated to Lao Lang in Yangzhou was on Suchang Street. In addition to sacrifices, this place is also a place for discussion during homework. Back then, many artists who sang Su Kun lived on this street."
Entering the long night of history, during the Republic of China, the Liyuan General Administration, the main institution of the opera industry, was located in Suchang Street.
9.[Xingshan Temple]
Yangzhou Xingshan Temple is located at No. 11 Jushi Lane, Guangling District, Yangzhou City. It has a high status in the domestic Buddhist community and belongs to a national-level protected unit. The temple's architecture has a unique style. The axis of Xingshan Temple in Yangzhou is basically symmetrical. As a famous local temple for several years, it is a rare historical building and plays an important role in the history of Buddhism's spread.
10.[Former Residence of Wei Yuan]
The "Xuyuan" at No. 37 of this alley was the former residence of Wei Yuan, the first person to "open his eyes to the world" in the late Qing Dynasty. The famous work "Haiguo Tuzhi" of "Opening Eyes to See the World" was drafted here. Lin Zexu, Gong Zizhen and others all once lived in Xuyuan and chatted happily and became friends with Wei Yuan.
11.[Lingnan Guild Hall]
Lingnan Guild Hall was built in the eighth year of Tongzhi of the Qing Dynasty (1869) and was overhauled and built in the ninth year of Guangxu (1883). Located between No. 4 and No. 16 Xincang Lane, Yangzhou, it is a place for Guangdong merchants in the Qing Dynasty to discuss and communicate with local friends in Yangzhou. It also serves as a place for trading, intelligence, accommodation and entertainment. Lingnan Guild Hall is the most complete of all Guild Hall in Yangzhou today. The old houses and inscriptions have certain historical and artistic value.
It has now been changed into a hotel, and non-residents are not allowed to enter. You can only see the style of the year at the door.
12.[Liu Zhuang]
The municipal-level cultural relics protection unit is located at No. 272 Guangling Road. Originally named "Longxi Houpu", it was built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. It belonged to the salt merchant Liu's family in the 11th year of the Republic of China (1922), covering an area of 6160 square meters. The gate faces south and the garden is north of the residence, separated by courtyards. There is a moon cave gate at the entrance of the garden, with a "half acre of Yuyuan" on the top. There are three halls and houses facing south. There is a courtyard behind the hall. There is a corridor leading to the west half of the courtyard on the west side of the hall. Lake and stone flower beds are built under the southwest wall, with white bark pine trees and other flowers and trees. In the east courtyard, there are pavilions in the north, with walls stacked on mountains, and in the south, there is a pool stacked on a group of lakes, rocks and rockery. The backyard is deserted, and there are still several stone carvings carved by King Bingzhen of the Ming Dynasty on the courtyard wall. In the southern part of the park, the house has three east-west axes, four entrances to the front and back, and a nanmu hall is preserved.
13.[Sanzhu Lane]
The "three wishes" are blessings, birthday wishes and blessings. Guangling Road was called "Zuowei Street" during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Twenty or thirty years ago, it could be called the center of the city center. On the west side of the southern end of the alley is the commercial giant at that time-Yangzhou No. 1 Department Store (Zhongbaiyi Store).
14.[Hanlu]
It is located at No. 7 Shipailou. It was originally the residence of Xu Gongshu, a salt merchant in the Qing Dynasty. During the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, Wu Xizai, a gold and stone painter, and Marquis Huang Han, a tooth carver, successively lived here. Not only did Mr. Huang Hanhou live in it, but also Mr. Chen Hanguang, a key figure of the "Yechun Hou Society" and a famous scholar of calligraphy and painting in Yangzhou.
15.[Huaju Lane]
Origin of the name of the alley: In the old days, the deep houses and courtyards in the alley were all famous flower fairs, and the alley was named after this.
The laneway is simple and quiet, with deep houses and courtyards scattered on both sides. There is a brick gate at the north end of the alley, with the name of "Huaju Lane" engraved in stone on its forehead. This may be common in the old days, but it is extremely rare in today's ancient cities.
16.[Desheng Bridge]--Old alleys with knives and scissors shops
According to legend, in the Ming Dynasty, there was an nameless small stone bridge in the eastern section of the street. General Chang Yuchun passed through this bridge triumphantly from Huaidong and named this bridge "Desheng Bridge" to celebrate his military exploits.
The whole street is selling knives to cut Yangzhou's three knives "-cutting kitchen knives, shaving knives, and pedicure knives. These "three knives" are synonymous with the famous Yangzhou chefs, barbers and pedicures in the country.
17.[Fuchun Tea House]--The most authentic "water bag" in old Yangzhou
People in Yangzhou had better have morning tea,"Make a bag of water in the morning!" The best place to cover water is of course Desheng Bridge Fuchun Tea House. I heard from the older generation that Chen Aiting, the founder of Fuchun, was originally just a small vendor who carried flowers and sold them in the alleys of Yangzhou. In the 11th year of Guangxu, Chen Aiting rented more than 10 houses in Yangzhou Chuandian Lane at Desheng Bridge and established the Fuchun Flower Bureau.
Founded in 1885. Through the unremitting efforts and management of several generations, Fuchun Tea House has gradually formed the characteristics of combining flowers, tea, snacks and vegetables, excellent color, aroma, taste and shape, leisure, tranquility, elegance and suitability. It is recognized as Huaiyang cuisine. The authentic representative.
Ba Jin, Zhu Ziqing, Bing Xin, Lin Sanzhi, Wu Zuoren, Mei Lanfang, Zhao Dan and other great masters of literature and art all left behind their calligraphy treasures and praises.
18.[Park Bridge]--Republic of China Bridge on the Xiaoqinhuai River
It was built in the 3rd year of Xuantong of the Qing Dynasty (AD 1911). In the 7th year of the Republic of China (AD 1918), Park Bridge was converted from a wooden board bridge to a brick arch bridge. The bridge is 7.8 meters long, 4.1 meters wide, and has a vehicle load of 6 tons. In the 36th year of the Republic of China (1947 AD), the railings of the Park Bridge were repaired. In 1964, the Park Bridge was rebuilt. In 2001, the bridge deck was resurfaced, and the blue brick bridge railings were newly built.
19.[Little Qinhuai River]
The Xiaoqinhuai River is the only remaining inner city river in the ancient city of Yangzhou. It was formerly called the Xincheng River. It connects the Beicheng River in the north, passes through Longtouguan in the south, and flows into the ancient canal. It has a total length of about 2 kilometers. It is a witness to the rise and fall of the ancient city in the Ming and Qing dynasties. The Xiaoqinhuai River and the neighborhoods on both sides were once the most prosperous areas in the Qing Dynasty. The name of Little Qinhuai began during the Kangxi Period.
20.[Caiyi Alley]-The main transportation routes and cultural streets and alleys of the old city
Caiyi Street is named after the numerous Caiyi shops on the street in the past. "Yangzhou Painting Boat Record" once recorded Caiyi Street, calling it "the rear floor of the Transportation Department. There was a Garment Bureau in the past. Later, embroidery goods, opera costumes, estimated clothes and other shops were gathered in the street."
Today, there are various snack stalls on both sides of the street.
21.[Renfengli]-the most Yangzhou cultural symbol
I only hear about Dongguan Street, but I don't know Renfeng Li. If Dongguan Street is a representative of the prosperity of the old city, Renfengli is a symbol of the culture of the old city.
Renfengli gathers more than a dozen cultural and cultural sites from the Sui and Tang Dynasties to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Here is Jingzhong Temple, which was renamed in memory of Yue Fei in the Song Dynasty; there is the residence and family temple of Ruan Yuan, a leading scholar in Confucian classics in the Qianjia Dynasty; there is a famous imperial examination story of "one school, three scholars, and two sons pass down from Lu"; there is Wenxuan Tower and Caoli Lane related to the compilation of selected works; there is the location of the Yamen Office of the Military and Horse Department of the Ming Dynasty; there is a century-old bath "Shuanggui Spring"... I don't know that Renfengli is also a place where crouching tigers and hidden dragons are hidden.

22.[Tianning Temple Palace]--the first of the eight Ming temples in Yangzhou in the Qing Dynasty
Tianning Temple in Yangzhou was one of the eight famous temples in Yangzhou in the Qing Dynasty. However, there are different opinions on when its history began. One version is said to be Xie 'an Villa in the Eastern Jin Dynasty.
In the 18th year of Qianlong, that is, in 1753 AD, Yangzhou salt merchants built a palace in the West Garden of Tianning Temple, which was completed three years later.
Tianning Temple, the "Heritage Site of the Grand Canal of China", can be used as the starting point for ancient alley tours. "Legend has it that during the Qianlong period, this was a quite lively street. After Qianlong and his party left Tianning Temple, they entered Tianning Gate and followed Tianning Street, Beiliu Lane, Nanliu Lane, and Yanzi Street to Chaoguan Wharf. Therefore, the Royal Forest Army also walked here, and Tianning Gate Street became the" Imperial Road ".

23.[Imperial Horse]
The Royal Pier is made of bluestone. After more than 200 years of wind and rain, it is intact and as strong as ever. Legend has it that because there could be no obstacles at the feet of the emperor, the "code" of the Royal Wharf was removed from the stone word. It is now the starting point of the famous "Qianlong Water Tour Route".
24.[Yechun]--A century-old tea shop in poetry and painting
Yechun Garden, the first scene of the "Qianlong Water Tour Route", was one of the eight famous gardens in Yangzhou in the Qing Dynasty. It was originally located on the bank of the Dahong Bridge in Yangzhou. It was the place where the famous poet Wang Shizhen in the Qing Dynasty held a poetry club. Later, the old garden was abandoned and moved to this site in the late Qing Dynasty.
Yechun Garden cleverly integrates trees, water, bridges and pavilions. As soon as you enter the garden gate, there are several thatched huts, half of which are on the bank and half extend into the water. The thatched hut has golden straw as the roof, wooden boards as the walls, and carved windows.
On the forehead of the Caolu gate is the word "Shuihui Pavilion", which is based on the name of the "Shuihui Garden" in the home of Mao Bijiang, a minister in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. The eaves and corners on the thatched hut complement each other with the river, giving a village flavor.
There is a curved railing on the west side of the Shui-Painting Pavilion, which connects to a water pavilion. This is the "Fragrant Shadow Corridor". Its name comes from Wang Shizhen's poem "The people in fragrant clothes are too hurried". There are several corridors, with red railings facing the water. Leaning against the window and leaning against the railing, you can see the flowing water under the bridge and the flowers and trees on the other bank.
