preface
In 2017, on the first day of the Lunar New Year, in the early morning, before realizing the dream, someone sang in his dream: The old man left the Yellow Crane Tower in the west, and the fireworks fell under Yangzhou in March. That year, I took the opportunity to visit the Yellow Crane Tower. A few years later, I decided to go to Yangzhou in March. Go and see the ten miles of spring breeze, see the ten years of dream, and see the extreme prosperity of the world in the poem.
1. Yedongguan
Arriving at the boundary of Yangzhou, it was the beginning of the lanterns. Viewed from a high altitude, this area is densely covered with water networks and dotted with lakes. There is a large river running through it, which is expected to be the Yangtze River. All colors of lights and neon lights gather and shine, which should be adjacent towns. There are also regular distribution, which should be highways and river-crossing bridges running through Liancheng Town.
After the Sui and Tang Dynasties, this place connected the Maritime Silk Road and the Land Silk Road, with water-land transportation. It was a major eastern trade port and a transfer station for Chinese and foreign materials. As the saying goes,"Since the prosperous Yangzhou in the southeast, land, land and material resources are full of Qi"-for a time, the stars were shining brightly on the clear sky, but when they saw the lanterns on the land, they were eclipsed.
This time, I lived near Wenchang Pavilion. I walked out of the door to Siwang Pavilion. At the end of the street was Wenchang Pavilion, and diagonally opposite was Caiyi Street. Caiyi Street and Dongguan Street are similar. Dongguan Street is the most representative historical district in Yangzhou. Since the opening of the Grand Canal, this thoroughfare, which follows the canal outside and connects the Urban area inside, has become Yangzhou's commercial, religious and cultural center. After thousands of years of precipitation, there are more than 50 important historical relics on the street such as former residences of celebrities, salt merchant mansions, temple gardens, ancient trees and wells. At 9 p.m., the streets were crowded with pedestrians and tourists like me were everywhere looking for food. It is said that as early as the Tang Dynasty, Dongguan Street was so prosperous. There is a poem saying,"The trees in the river are lush, and the beautiful museums are thousands of miles connected."
Walking to the end of Dongguan Street is the East Gate of the former Yangzhou City. The existing Dongmen Tower was rebuilt on the original Dongmen site. The location of Yangzhou's East Gate has been here since the Tang and Song Dynasties. Opposite the east gate is the Dongguan Ancient Ferry, an important ferry crossing of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Legend has it that Jianzhen once sailed eastward here, Marco. Polo once landed here and entered the city. This ferry and gate have witnessed the prosperity of water transportation, the luxury of salt merchants, and the rise and fall of Yangzhou and the canal.
Walking leisurely at the ancient ferry, it was late at night on the return journey. Shops along the street closed one after another, and the noise gradually subsided. The river bank is quiet and the flowers and trees stand still along the road. The instant time and space are misplaced, as if they have traveled through thousands of years.
2. "Bag Water", Slender West Lake, Daming Temple, Geyuan
The next day, the morning breeze was slightly colder and the sun was shining brightly.
Get up early and catch a "bag of water". I have never been to Yangzhou and I have heard of the old Yangzhou saying,"Wrap water in the morning, wrap water in the evening"-the most leisurely and slow life in Yangzhou. "Water wrapping" is a bathing bath known as the intangible cultural heritage of Yangzhou City. The "bag of water" in the morning is to drink morning tea.
There are many tea houses in Yangzhou, among which the three springs such as "Fuchun","Yechun" and "Gonghe Spring", as well as "Quyuan" and "Garden Tea House" are the most famous. Yechun Tea House Yumatou Store is on the only way to Slender West Lake. The shop is in a garden, which is next to the Royal Wharf. The garden is named Yechun Garden, and it is also one of the eight famous gardens in Yangzhou in the Qing Dynasty. In the garden, pavilions and waterside pavilions and beautiful flowers shine on the water, making them exquisite and beautiful. There are also traditional performances such as Yangzhou Pinghua and Dry Boat in the park. It is said that when Emperor Qianlong visited Slender West Lake, he boarded a boat here. However, the store is too famous and the queues are serious. The equal number in front of it is as high as 135 tables. So he moved to Hongqiao Square Store.
After leaving Yechun Hongqiafang Store, you will be 200 steps to Slender West Lake. It is the peak tourist season in Yangzhou, and tickets to the scenic spot are 100 yuan/person. You can also choose to go on water at the entrance of the scenic area and take a boat into the park. The ticket is 45 yuan/person.
Slender West Lake was once the moat of famous historical cities such as Jiangdu and Guangling. It has gone through the Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. By the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Qianlong made several southern tours of Yangzhou. In order to welcome the emperor, local tyrants competed to build gardens, and successively built Wuting Bridge, Xichun Terrace, White Pagoda, Diaoyutai and many other landscapes on both sides of this long and narrow waterway. Slender West Lake has since gained a reputation as "the garden scenery, the best in the world".
Choose a water trip and greedily want to follow the eyes of the emperor of that year to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Yangzhou in March with a handful of fireworks. Board the ship and set out, cross the Dahong Bridge and head north. Slender West Lake is famous for its long and slender lake surface. The lake road is graceful and tortuous, with sparkling waves, clear smoke willows, and splendid fireworks-hydrangea, wisteria, spring spring, evening cherry, and crabapple. There is a scene every ten steps, and spring is everywhere.
It is March in the spring, and it is the peak tourist season in Yangzhou. The shore is crowded with tourists and crowded with famous attractions everywhere. The Diaoyutai and Wuting Bridge were crowded with people queuing up to take photos, and the 24th Bridge was so blocked that it was impossible to move an inch. Fortunately, the congestion belongs to others, and I am comfortable and contented with the cool breeze on the boat.
The boat reaches the 24th Bridge, board the shore and walk, and walk north under the long embankment under the spring willows. Entering Fuzhuang, sit leisurely in the Linglong Water Pavilion, buy a cup of coffee and sip it carefully, look up to admire the White Tower, and see the people happily scrambling to take photos in the bustling Wuting Bridge opposite. They are my scenery, me or their background. Occasionally, beautiful women dressed in Han clothes pass by. When passing by the tour group, the child was following the tour guide to recite the poem,"The green mountains are faintly and the water is far away, and the grass in the south of the Yangtze River has not withered yet at the end of autumn. On the bright night of the twenty-fourth bridge, where can the jade man teach to play flute?"
Out of the north gate of Slender West Lake Scenic Area is Daming Temple.
Daming Temple was first built during the Ming Dynasty of Emperor Xiaowu of the Southern Song Dynasty. It is more than 1500 years ago and was destroyed several times during this period. Throughout the ages, eminent monks have emerged in large numbers here, and many literati and poets have gathered here. Jianzhen received precepts in Daming Temple before his eastward journey. Ouyang Zuiweng built a Pingshan Hall here to entertain Gao Peng. Many years later, Su Dongpo came here to build the Valley Forest Hall to pay tribute to his former teacher Ouyang Xiu. Hundreds of years later, Emperor Kangxi lived here on his southern tour, and Shi Tao, a monk named bitter gourd, a descendant of the Ming royal family, met him here. Shi Tao's life was remote and he eventually slept beside the temple. In a small scenic spot, you can encounter famous calligraphy treasures everywhere, filling the stories of ancient and modern romances.
The Qiling Tower is nine-story high and is the tallest building in Daming Temple. After paying a ticket of 26 yuan, you can board the seventh floor of the pagoda. Climbing the tower and looking far into the distance, you will find the green mountains and rivers, and the thin West Lake with red flowers and green willows will see the close view from afar and lie in your eyes.
About the ticket for the Daming Temple Scenic Area: The ticket for the scenic area is 45 yuan/person. Tickets for the climbing tower are paid separately, 26 yuan/person. It is best to bring your own cash. If you don't have cash, you can exchange it with the on-site staff. It's just that there are many people climbing the tower, so they have to queue up and exchange money will take more time.
It was 4 p.m. when I left Daming Temple, so I took a bus to enter the garden before the museum closed (5:15 p.m.). The main entrance of Geyuan is on Dongguan Street. The bus stops to the north of Geyuan, so I entered from the north gate and first visited the back garden of the owner's house.
(The picture below is the main entrance of Geyuan taken on Dongguan Street the night before)
The owner of the garden is not surnamed "ge". Legend has it that its owner loves bamboo and plants bamboo all over the garden. There are many and rare varieties. "Moon YingbamboothousandsaThe word is, the frost is high, the plum blossoms are pregnant with flowers." Geyuan is named after bamboo and is also famous for bamboo. The beginning of "Yangzhou Slow" written by Jiang Kui in the Song Dynasty is "Famous Capital in Huaizuo, Beautiful Place in Bamboo West" with infinite sorrow. By the Qing Dynasty, Yangzhou's water transportation was booming, and salt merchants became rich and powerful, building the "Zhuxi Best Place" into this beautiful private garden.
Geyuan has also experienced the bitterness of the world and changed hands several times. The most famous of the past owners of Geyuan is Huang Zhiyun, a big boss of the Salt Gang, a red-topped merchant in the middle of the Qing Dynasty. Emperor Jiaqing personally wrote the history of salt transportation. He wore flower feathers on top of the first and second grade. He had banquets in the Forbidden City and listened to operas in Yuanmingyuan. He was Hu Xueyan's idol and predecessor. It is said that Geyuan was built by him to its present scale.
The Geyuan covers an area of about 24,000 square meters and consists of three parts: the southern residential area, the central garden, and the northern viewing area. The door is small and the belly is large, and it contains heaven and earth. If you have enough time, you can enjoy it for half a day. I arrived after 4 p.m., so I could just take a quick look around and walk around the boutique and watch the flowers.
In addition to bamboo, Geyuan is famous for its stone stacking art. The boutique is one of the four seasons rockery-bamboo shoots, lake stones, yellowstone, and Xuan stones are stacked to create the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter. A mountain building was built between the summer mountains and the autumn mountains. The seven long buildings spanned the two mountains, and the owner often lingered in the summer and autumn.
In summary of the day, it is not impossible to visit the three scenic spots of Slender West Lake, Daming Temple and Geyuan within one day. But if you want to savor the interests of scenic spots and historic sites, you have a hurry. It is recommended to bring your own dry food for lunch and eat on-site without leaving the Slender West Lake Scenic Area. This can save time when leaving the scenic spot, looking for a car, looking for a store, queuing for tables, and waiting for food to be served.
In addition, it is best to find a morning without a scheduled itinerary for the Yangzhou morning tea experience. It really takes time! Or go to a more popular tea house. You don't need an Internet celebrity shop or a famous shop. Just sit among the local people and experience the elegance of the local people. Waiting in line for breakfast for 2 hours is not a leisurely thing. It's just a sweet memory!
3. Jixiao Villa (Heyuan)
The 3rd day of the trip is also the return journey. The sky is cloudy and rainy.
Thousands of years ago, Li Bai said that "fireworks fall under Yangzhou in March". What does the "smoke" in "fireworks" mean? There has been no decision for thousands of years. Some people say that it is March of the spring-the smoke willows clear, while others say it is the Qingming Festival-the misty rain is hazy. Anyway, no matter which way, I have to experience it one by one. Yesterday, it was sunny and the willow was sunny, and today it is light rain and misty rain. I feel extremely lucky!
He Yuan was originally named "Jixiao Villa", and locals called it "He Mansion", so it is also called He Yuan. He Weijian, the owner of He Garden, is also known as Zhiyu. He was born as a student of the Imperial College and has a first-class official? Doctor. Not long after he took office as the Hubei Provincial Justice, he resigned and went into seclusion because he was angry at the Qing government's laziness and inability to attach himself to the foreign powers. After returning to Yangzhou, He Zhizhen purchased the former site of the old work of "Pianshishan House" by stone Tao and stone stacking, and expanded it into this "Jixiao Villa". The word "Jixiao" is taken from Tao Yuanming's "Return to the Lai Ci":"Lean on the south window to express pride" and "Climb Donggao to relax the roar" to show the owner's ambition to return to seclusion,"if he reaches out, he will benefit the world, and if he is poor, he will protect himself alone."
Among the many famous gardens in Yangzhou, this park was the latest to be built, but it is known as "the first famous garden in the late Qing Dynasty." Before setting off, I heard someone comment that the best scenery in He Garden is in the evening. Therefore, it was originally arranged for the evening of the previous day. Later, after starting from Daming Temple, He Yuan's journey was longer than Geyuan, and the two journeys were canceled due to time considerations. Afterwards, I found that the arrangements at that time were invincible correct! It is too rush to visit a garden for one and a half hours. What if we changed it to a garden? It is impossible to visit the Complete Garden, let alone have fun!
In terms of area alone, He Garden is about 14,000 square meters, which is smaller than Geyuan. However, there are many open-air parts in the northern viewing area of Geyuan. He Garden has a construction area of more than 7000 square meters and consists of four parts: East Garden, West Garden, Garden Residential Courtyard, and Pishishan Mountain House. Among them, wall-mounted rockery, Peony Hall, Fuhai Pavilion (Boat Hall), Butterfly Hall, Shuixin Pavilion, Moon Appreciation Building, Jade Embroidery Building, Riding Building, Clear Nanmu Hall, Ming Nanmu Hall, Pianshi Mountain Room, Flowers in the Mirror, and Moon scenery in the water emerge one after another, and the conception is clever. The three areas of East Park, West Park and Yuanju Courtyard are connected by a 1.5-kilometer-long double-decker compound corridor, allowing people to tour the park and travel in one direction without disturbing each other. It is said to be the prototype of China's overpass. There are assorted hole windows and water-mill leaky windows on the wall of the promenade, allowing a unique view through the windows. It is said that this corridor is twice the length of the Summer Palace Promenade.
I have been to many private gardens, such as Suzhou Lingering Garden, Shanghai Yu Garden, Nanjing Zhanyuan, etc., all of which are exquisite! But as I see it too much, I may feel aesthetic fatigue, and my individual impression of the gardens in various places is fading. But I believe that I can still clearly remember He Yuan many years later! Its personality is too distinctive to be unforgettable! As a high-ranking official who was born as a senior student of the Imperial College, the place where the host family's profound Confucian heritage is revealed everywhere, and the combination of China and the West is ingenious, which is amazing. The Jiageng architecture in my hometown is a classic representative of the integration of Chinese and Western architectural cultures. The combination of Chinese and Western countries here has a different style, revealing the elegance of the Jiangnan water town. Personally, I think that Jiageng style architecture is like official script-Fang Jin is vigorous, and He Yuan is like a small script-graceful and graceful.
Xiao Shiji shared the exquisiteness of He Garden with all visitors:
Fuhaixuan: Fuhaixuan is located in the East Garden and is commonly known as the "Boat Hall". The hall is shaped like a boat, with glass inlaid with flowered windows and transparent on all sides. The ground of the park around the hall is paved with water-like texture with pebbles and tiles. Looking down from a high place, this hall is like a boat sailing on the sea. The so-called "dry garden land boat". There is a couplet in front of the door: "The moon is the master plum, and the flowers are the four walls and the boat is the home." It is people sitting in the hall, and the scenery comes from all directions. The word "Fu Hai" comes from Confucius's words,"If the Tao does not work, I will float in the sea on a Fu." Let your thoughts go: The people who had gone into seclusion sat in the center of this bright room, looking around and feeling the ups and downs of the official world-if the world doesn't work, I will put the boat to sea!
(2) Shuixin Pavilion: Shuixin Pavilion is in the West Garden. The Xiyuan pool is in the center, and in the center of the pool is the Shuixin Pavilion. A small building stands by the pool, surrounded by a double-layer compound corridor. This is a 360-degree water stage with no dead spots. Thinking back at the turn of summer and autumn, the moonlight was like water, lanterns hung high, and the owner of He Garden's family lived in small buildings and corridors around them, sitting, leaning or standing. Actors in the pavilion in the pool perform operas and sing Kunqu Opera. Her singing voice is melodious and melodious, like crying, complaining, and admiring. The sound glides across the water, strikes the walls of the corridor, and bounces back into the garden, resonating, just like modern surround sound.
(3) Yuxiu Tower: Yuxiu Tower is the living and living area of the original owner. It is named because of the magnolias and hydrangea flowers planted in the garden. This place best reflects the combination of Chinese and Western architecture in He Yuan. The diverse cultural elements of French louvers, Japanese sliding doors, European fireplaces, and Xiyang wrought iron railings are all reflected in it. This is also an exhibition hall for the life and family history of the owner of He Garden. Different from Geyuan's fate, which changed hands several times, He Yuan never changed hands and remained surnamed He before becoming a national key cultural relic protection unit. The He family attaches great importance to education and has inherited its books. It has lasted for generations from the late Qing Dynasty to the present, and talents have emerged in large numbers-two brothers, two doctors, two academicians, and both father and daughter are painters. Confucius did not go sailing in a boat in the end. The owner of He Garden eventually moved his family to Shanghai and devoted himself to saving the country through industry and education. The He family founded "Chizhi University", which is the predecessor of Shanghai International Studies University. Decades later, descendants of the He family sacrificed this old family house to the country, and I now have the opportunity to visit and listen to the He family's stories.
(4) Pianshi Mountain House: The "unique copy of the earth" of rocks stacked on top of rocks. It is said to be the oldest building in Yangzhou gardens. Use lake stones to stick walls to stack rockery. The rockery is scattered in height, there are stone Deng roads on the mountainside, and stone cave houses at the foot of the mountain. Therefore, it is called a piece of stone mountain house. Sitting leisurely in the east room, the scenery of piano, chess, books, and painting came naturally. Standing without tying a boat, watching the swimming fish compete for food. Enjoy the flowers in the mirror by the pool, and look at the bottom of the pool to find the moon in the water. "Three parts of the world are bright and night, and two parts of the scoundrel are Yangzhou"-Yangzhou has the reputation of the Moon City. In this rocky mountain house, you can not only enjoy the moonlight at night, but you can also find the ever-changing moon shadow in the water during the day.
I met an unknown flower in He Yuan. The flower was white and elegant, with a gentle posture. At this moment, I was happy and took photos when I disagreed. Later, I learned that what I met was actually a tree of jade flowers!
"Thousands of trees in the east compete for flowers, and the world is unique to this flower"-It is said that in order to see the beauty of this flower, Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty ordered the excavation of the Grand Canal, thus opening up the north-south transportation route, connecting the land Silk Road and the maritime Silk Road, opening up Yangzhou City's wealth to the world. As a result, the Sui Dynasty lost its country. Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty himself was dubbed a tyrant. From today's perspective, he is actually "living in the contemporary era" but "making contributions for thousands of years."
No matter what, he and Qionghua are not as fated as me. He had to force, and I just walked by and looked up.
When you were blooming, I was standing under the tree. No pleasure!
So happy!
4. Eat in Yangzhou
Huaiyang cuisine throughout this trip. Except for the fact that the morning tea queue in Yechun is too time-consuming, which makes me dissatisfied and seriously doubts its value for money, every meal is delicious! Huaiyang cuisine is one of the eight major cuisines in my country and is also a state banquet hosted by my country's head of state to entertain foreign guests. Perhaps the cutting requirements are too elegant and the cooking is too complex and elegant, which is rare to see in other cities. The taste is slightly salty to my light diet Dahu Jianren, which is just right with the famous local tea "Green Yangchun". Below are a few famous stores:
(1) Jiangjiaqiao Dumpling Noodle Shop
At the junction of Caiyi Street and Dongguan Street. Per capita: 15 yuan.
Recommendations: shrimp seed wonton, bamboo shoot meat pot stickers.
The steamed dumplings are average, with a good head and a slightly thick skin. The base of the wonton soup is soy sauce and pepper soup. It is slightly salty, but inexplicably delicious. It is very warm to drink on a slightly cold night.
This restaurant is like a state-owned snack bar in the past. Food is affordable and delicious. There was no service attitude, but all the service ladies were very enthusiastic: when they saw that there were dumplings on my table, they asked me to go to the front desk to queue up to get them. haha. I privately thought this was Yangzhou's "Wu Zaitian".
(2) Yechun Tea House
There are many branches in Yechun. If you have free time to listen to opera and enjoy scenery, I recommend the Yumatou Store in Yechun Garden. The average queue time is 2 hours (it is said that there is no personal test). Per capita: 75 yuan.
Recommendations: Crab yellow soup dumplings, hot dried shredded silk, osmanthus sugar lotus root.
There was also a Wuding steamed buns recommended by everyone, but I didn't try them. I was too hungry waiting for breakfast and had no appetite to eat too much. The method of making Yangzhou Melaleuca Oil Cake (bottom right) is very elegant. But I like the steamed cakes from my hometown. When eaten in the mouth, the thousand-layer oil cake is similar to the steamed cake, and the cost performance is lower. Quicksand buns (bottom right picture) are ordinary bean paste buns.
(3) Lion Building
I used it at the branch of Yangzhou University beside Slender West Lake. There are also branches near Heyuan. According to the local taxi boss, Huaiyang cuisine in Lion Tower is the most authentic in Yangzhou! There are also many people who have to queue up for meals here. Go early if you want to try it. Per capita: 107 yuan.
Recommendations: Yangzhou fried rice, Wensi tofu, soft pocket long fish.
It is said that there is the best Yangzhou fried rice in Yangzhou, as well as the best braised lion's head in Yangzhou. I looked at the lion's head at the table next door. It was as big as a small basketball. Among Huaiyang's famous dishes, the one that makes me most curious has always been Wensi Tofu, a special product for the Chinese knife workers 'grading examination. It used to be thought that Wensi tofu was similar to the Nostoc tofu soup in my hometown. Now I realize that it is actually different. Tofu is still ordinary tofu. But this knife skill that can cut tender tofu into shreds is really amazing! The roots are really as thin as hair, and the threads are intact and unbroken. It's so exciting! As a famous dish in Huaiyang, Ruandou Changyu participated in the "first banquet" after the founding ceremony in 1949 and was called the "first dish of the founding of the People's Republic of China". For these two famous dishes, I didn't order the best (largest) Lion Head in Yangzhou. I privately thought that even if I only ordered Lion Head 1 dish, I wouldn't have the ability to CD!
(4) Fangjiayou noodles
It is 1 block away from Dongguan Street, not far away. See the navigation for details. Per capita: 135 yuan.
Recommendations: crab yellow noodles, waist noodles, drunk crayfish.
The most satisfying store for the whole trip! Recommended for cracked walls! The picture on the top left is not bald butter, but crab roe noodles, 188 yuan/serving. The picture on the top right is not stir-fried kidney flower, but kidney flower noodles, 48 yuan/serving. Xiao Gui. But this is not the price of a bowl of noodles, but the price of a whole set meal. Buy noodles and send chicken soup, egg custard, small portions of fruit, drinks, buffet side dishes, and lettuce salad. The drinks you give are not the ones you can take from yourself, but the ones you can take from yourself a bottle: Coke, Sprite, Fanta, Wang Laoji. If you don't have enough dough, you can add it. The accompanying tea also has a unique flavor and is very delicious. The most important thing is that you don't have to queue up! It is a 10-minute walk to Dongguan Street. However, most tourists linger on Dongguan Street and Caiyi Street.
The crab roe noodles with enough sauce are really delicious. Waist noodles have soy sauce and pepper flavor and are also very delicious. I heard that the long fish noodles here are also very good. There is also drunk lobsters soaked in rice wine, 35 yuan/serving, 5 pieces per serving. The fat meat is thick, mellow and delicious.
(5) Nine furnaces are divided
This store is right in front of He Garden. Originally, I wanted to finish visiting He Garden and go to the nearby Lion House to try the braised lion head that I hadn't tasted the day before. After leaving the door, I was attracted by the old store that was rumored to be the favorite of the locals. Per capita: 80 yuan.
Recommendations: Stewed lion's head clearly, boiled dried shredded silk, fried eel paste, vegetarian roast duck.
This is a favorite shop for locals. Although there are not many tourists at the entrance of the scenic spot, there is no need to queue up. There is a stage in the middle of the dining room. Looking at the setting on the stage, there should be someone telling stories in the morning. Business in the store is very good, and all kinds of steamed buns, steamed wheat, and pasta are sold out. Fortunately, white rice has not been sold out yet. Four dishes have no special points, and they are all delicious! The sound oil eel paste is the same as the soft pocket long fish, but the soft pocket long fish only uses the tenderloin, and the sound oil eel paste uses the tenderloin and the belly meat. Therefore, the two dishes are similar in appearance and slightly different in taste, but both are very good for the meal. Soft pocket long fish is more expensive. It's a big pot of boiled dried shredded silk! I feel that I am not afraid of selling out rice. Cooking dried shredded rice can top the staple food.
(6) Uncle's stockings milk tea shop
On Dongguan Street. Per capita: 12 yuan.
Recommendation: Classic lemon black tea.
It's not a famous store. It was just that night when I was shopping on Dongguan Street, there was the only milk tea shop you could find on the street late at night. At around 11 o'clock in the evening, the boss's takeout orders kept ringing. The aroma of fruit tea made people wearing masks crave it all day the next day. Classic lemon red, medium cup, sweet and sour, and you will live up to your longing for a day.
5. Journey to Yangzhou
Let's briefly talk about Yangzhou's transportation. I feel that Yangzhou is not a big city, and the scenic spots are not far away. If you have enough time, you can walk slowly. If you don't want to walk, the ideal means of transportation is to share small electric donkeys, which are nearby the scenic spot. The second is buses-there are free tourist buses between scenic spots. Ordinary buses are 2 yuan/person, which can be paid with QR codes of Mini programs. The least recommended tools for rushing to the market are taxis and ride-hailing apps. Because the roads in Yangzhou's Laocheng District are narrow, especially at the entrance of the scenic spot. A car fell off and traffic was immediately blocked behind. The tourist season is also a holiday, with a lot of tourists and limited local reception capacity. It is impossible to get a taxi without using taxi apps such as Didi. After using the taxi app, the queue lasted for more than half an hour. When you encounter a flight or high-speed rail, you must call a taxi at least 2 hours in advance. Personally, I think that it is most appropriate to book a car directly the day before catching a plane and high-speed rail.
Yangzhou's airport is in Taizhou. A taxi from Taizhou Airport to Wenchang Pavilion is about 135 yuan (including highway costs) and takes about 1 hour (without traffic jams). There are fewer flights at Taizhou Airport. If it is difficult to match flight times at Taizhou Airport, you can take Nanjing Lukou Airport. Nanjing Lukou Airport has an airport special line (Metro Line S1) connecting the airport and Nanjing South High-speed Railway Station. The fare is 7 yuan/person and takes about 1 hour. Then take the high-speed train directly from Nanjing south to Yangzhou. It takes only two stops and takes about an hour. In this way, the overall fare of air-rail intermodal transportation is similar to that of a direct flight to Yangzhou, or even cheaper.
The taxi fare from Yangzhou East High-speed Railway Station to Wenchang Pavilion is just over 40 yuan, which takes half an hour (without traffic jams).
PostScript
This trip to Yangzhou was a worthwhile trip: seeing fireworks in March, meeting the splendid scenery of Qionghua, seeing the smoke willows clearing up, seeing the misty rain, and enjoying the scenery of Yangzhou in its prime. I have fulfilled my long-cherished wish and tasted Huaiyang cuisine all over the place. The journey home was satisfied.
However, in a famous historical city like Yangzhou, its poems, monuments, scenic spots, history, stories, and knowledge are too dense and worth tasting slowly. This trip was too quick. I lived in front of Wenchang Pavilion, but I couldn't go there and study it carefully. Passing through Guanyin Mountain, Songjiacheng, Tangluo City, and the Ximen Ruins of Song Dacheng are all invulnerable. I also want to have the opportunity to wander under the Dongguan Gate in the sunset. There is also the tomb of the King Guangling of the Han Dynasty. The Ancient Canal Museum and Sanwan Wetland have not yet been completed and opened. There is also Zhenjiang on the other side, nearby Gaoyou, and Gudu in Guazhou... There are always some greedy little regrets, which will be reserved for the future, choose an off-season, and continue the song Yangzhou Slow.
