Speaking of traveling to Yangzhou, I wonder if you still have lingering fears? At this time last year, an old lady from Nanjing brought many negative things to the city. You know, Yangzhou has many titles such as a World Heritage City, a World Food Capital, and one of the first batch of national historical and cultural cities. This city should not be ruined just because of one person.
I also have many friends in Yangzhou. Nowadays, the control here is orderly and life is still full of enthusiasm and hope.
The most important thing is that the food, beautiful scenery, history and humanities here can definitely support an in-depth tour for us tourists.
So this time I came for a five-day, four-night summer trip to Yangzhou with my friends. This time, I saw the prosperity of Yangzhou in summer today, and also saw the prosperity of Yangzhou in the past through museums, gardens and even delicious food. It can be said that with this glance, I saw everything in the world.
The transportation in the entire Jiangsu Province is very developed, and Yangzhou is no exception. There are airports and high-speed trains here. In addition, surrounding Nanjing, Huai 'an, Changzhou and other places are also connected to airports and high-speed trains. Even tourists from other provinces come here, large transportation is not a trouble. I will list my itinerary in Yangzhou for everyone as a reference. Overall, the intensity of each day is not high and it is a comfortable trip to the city.
DAY1:(Arrive in the afternoon) Changzhou-Yangzhou, check into Huajiantang Hotel (Hongqiofang Store), eat 7 and 8 bars (Hongqiofang Store) for dinner;
DAY2: Quyuan Tea House (morning tea), Slender West Lake, Canying Villa Lunch, Daming Temple, Yangzhou Banquet (Slender West Lake Store) Dinner;
DAY3: Yechun Tea House (morning tea), China Grand Canal Museum, Yechun (dinner);
DAY4: Zhuyi Bay Park, Canal Banquet Lunch, Geyuan, He Yuan, Wanfeng Hotel Dinner, Stay at Yangzhou Guesthouse;
DAY5: Hotel breakfast, Hanling Garden, Tangcheng Ruins, return home after lunch-Changzhou.
Although our itinerary only goes to one or two attractions a day, will it be very loose? In fact, morning tea in Yangzhou can really be experienced for a long time. Many people even have quick lunch directly, two meals in one, haha. Coupled with the high temperatures throughout Jiangsu during the summer, it is recommended to reduce the intensity of the trip and take a break at noon. Below, I will classify you according to the different experience sections this time. If you are interested, please come and check in the same model!
Hotel| Blossom Hill Inn
The beginning of this trip to Yangzhou was to stay at Huajiantang·Xinchanli Hotel by the Slender West Lake. It is very important to find a nice hotel to drop off your luggage and have a good rest at the beginning of your journey. Huajiantang meets this standard very well, because as soon as I came here, I received warm service in the form of "Haidilao".
The hotel is located at No. 18 Dahongqiao Road, Hanjiang District. It has a strong overall design sense. The spiral staircase in the lobby and customized sofas are highlights. It also has a 24-hour gym and laundry room. That's not the end. What impressed me the most in a hotel with such outstanding hardware is the service. It welcomes the guests with a smile (they are sent to the elevator every time they enter), sends them off politely (they are sent to the door every time they go out), and even takes the initiative to deliver my laundry. Put the dirty clothes in the laundry bag, and come back with the washed and folded clothes. They are all free and are extremely cost-effective.
The hotel's room types are also very rich. Friends have parent-child rooms, courtyard rooms and private soup rooms. The room I stayed in was located on the third floor of the hotel (the highest floor) and had a small terrace where I could drink tea and view the scenery. The hardware in the room cannot be underestimated. It is equipped with a top-brand hair dryer and provides a wide range of drinks and welcome fruits. The overall feeling is that staying in a hotel is really like returning home.
Yangzhou Guesthouse is probably the best hotel in Yangzhou, but there is no one. It is located on the bank of Slender West Lake and has hosted many domestic and foreign leaders and hosted several important activities. I remember the first time I came to Yangzhou. When a friend took me to the 7 Eat 8 Bar for dinner, I passed the guest house. I was attracted by its grand door.
Because the building regulations by Slender West Lake cannot be higher than three floors (if I remember correctly), Yangzhou Guesthouse gives me the feeling that it is very big and has many buildings, but it is not a towering building, but an elegant garden building, including Quyuan Tea House and Siqiao Yanyu Building, are all within the scope of the hotel. Because I came late this time and left early, I didn't have a good time shopping around the hotel. It's a pity!
Food| Eat 8 from 7
7Eat 8 Bar is really a popular restaurant in Yangzhou. I am used to calling it 7788, which means "eat bar". It's really true that I've been to Yangzhou a few times, but I've only been to the 7th and 8th places. Haha ~ I still remember that the first time I came here was brought by a local photographer friend. It is located in the Hongqiaofang Hot Spring Hotel. At that time, I was still thinking: Hey, why is this restaurant so strange that we have to pass by the hotel lobby?
I didn't realize after I came here that this place was really nice. The restaurant environment was nothing to say, the atmosphere was relaxed and suitable for friends to get together, and the price was relatively friendly to the people. Although it is hidden deeply, it may not be easy to find foreign tourists, but there are still many online guides. There are many local citizens and tourists who come here, and you may need to wait for a location during peak periods. Come to 7788 and recommend the must-order signature grilled opium fish with green onions at every table. The fish is smooth and the green onion leaves are fragrant. It is absolutely yds.
Other dishes were frugal and frugal. We also ordered crispy roast duck with caviar, squirrel fish with unicorn tomato sauce, chopped beef with asparagus and lily, drunk lobster, boiled frog with rattan pepper and green sauce, etc. It can be seen that the dishes are not rigidly adhered to traditional Huaiyang cuisine, and the collocation of many ingredients is creative. I definitely recommend the delicious food for traveling in Yangzhou from here.
Food| Quyuan Tea House
You must have morning tea when you come to Yangzhou. If you only have time to go to one house, you must choose "Quyuan"! This place was originally a salt merchant residence, and was later named Quyuan by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. It has been passed down to this day, and you can imagine how famous it must be. Today, Quyuan is the hottest morning tea club in Yangzhou City, and it is also the "queuing king" in Yangzhou. Parking seats in the lobby require on-site calls and queuing, and private rooms need to be booked in advance.
About four years ago, I came to Quyuan once. It was only 7 o'clock in the morning, and all the tourists waiting at the gate were filled. It is said that the "scalper" queue appeared in Quyuan, but was finally banned by merchants. However, this time, due to the fact that various places wore masks, I found that the number of queues was still much smaller, and the experience was higher than before. If you are tempted! Hurry up and have a trip to Yangzhou in the name of delicious food!
This time we were lucky enough to sit in the private room of Siqiao Yanyu Building. This two-story loft is located on the east bank of Slender West Lake, facing Xiaojin Mountain across the lake. It was built during the Qing and Kangxi years. During his four southern patrols, Qianlong had to climb the Siqiao Yanyu Building and look into the distance from the window. Nowadays, it is a cultural protection unit, and it may be the only restaurant in Yangzhou that can directly see Wuting Bridge.
The per capita consumption in Quyuan is between 100 and 300 yuan per person. Why is this range a bit large? Because some famous dishes like eight-treasure gourd duck are more expensive, not every table will order them. I recommend morning tea: Huaiyang Hot Dried Shredded Shredded, Wuding Bao, Crab Huang Soup Bao, Shrimp Seed Noodles. With these basic morning tea categories, you can really close your eyes in Quyuan, and the taste is absolutely speechless.
Food| Yangzhou Banquet
The reputation of the Yangzhou Banquet is beyond doubt in the local area. The award-winning restaurants are definitely very popular. Even Nicholas Tse's "Feng Wei" has been filmed here. If you want to experience Huaiyang cuisine in one stop, come here! The presentation and cooking of each dish are of high standards, integrating freshness, fashion and health preservation.
If you insist on asking me to recommend something to you, I don't think there's any need to. Because the food here won't beat thunder, just follow your preferences. We ordered Gaoyou double yellow duck eggs, raw baked large yellow croaker in casserole, Gaoyou Wang tofu with oily residue, etc. for reference.
Food| Yunheyan
Canal Banquet is a very interesting restaurant in Yangzhou that I think. Because this is a specialty restaurant that no longer focuses on Huaiyang cuisine. As the name suggests, it is linked by the culture of the Grand Canal, and you can taste the delicacies of various places along the Grand Canal in China. For example, when I ordered Chaotianguo in Weifang, Shandong Province, I really didn't expect it.
I think what I ate at the canal banquet is not only the taste, but also a reading of canal culture. If you also live by the canal, come and find out if there is any delicious food from your hometown here!
In addition, taking pictures of the Grand Canal Museum on the second floor of the Canal Banquet will give you the feeling of traveling through Bianliang City in Tokyo in the Song Dynasty. If you come here for dinner and happen to have sunset, it will be even more beautiful.
Food| yechun
When you come to Yangzhou, you will probably talk about "Sanchun" when you mention morning tea. These "Sanchun" morning tea clubs are all outstanding among Yangzhou morning tea clubs. The "three springs" are Yechun, Fuchun, and Gonghe Chun. Today, the scale and popularity of Yechun Tea House is the largest in the century-old Yechun Tea House. You may not even believe it, but we actually ate three meals of spring during our trip to Yangzhou! One meal in the morning, noon and evening.
If you can only eat one meal, I definitely recommend you to come to Yechun for morning tea. There are many varieties of Yechun morning tea. I have tasted some of all kinds of steamed buns and snacks. The tableware is also very eye-catching, and there are many handicrafts such as Yangzhou lacquer ware. Personal recommendation: Crab yellow soup dumplings, shrimp seed noodles.
Yechun's dinner should be more rich! All kinds of famous Huaiyang dishes can be ordered here, and great efforts are also made to set up the dishes and carvings. Personal recommendations: Four pieces of fragrant goose, dragon boat fish, leek fragrant soft pocket, Yangzhou fried rice.
For lunch, I had a business set meal produced by Yechun on the first floor of the recently popular Grand Canal Museum, and drank tea and snacks in a small seat in the tea shop. Yechun has indeed become popular. There is Yechun coffee in the Grand Canal Museum, and I can even buy Yechun's fast food buns in supermarkets in Changzhou.
Food| Wanfeng Hotel
Huaiyang cuisine is known as "the best taste in Southeast Asia and the most beautiful in the world." As one of the birthplaces, Yangzhou has never lacked good restaurants. So in addition to the well-known restaurants mentioned above, interested tourists can also explore some good private restaurants. This time we stayed at a unique Wanfeng Hotel based on the suggestion of local friends. This restaurant has just opened and is located at the south gate of Weilan Building, No. 102 Shugang West Road, Hanjiang District. The new Chinese decoration has clear windows and clear windows, and the restaurant has large boxes, suitable for business banquets.
Huaiyang cuisine emphasizes the chef's knife skills, and scalding and dried shredded silk is the most basic one. The dishes of Wanfeng Hotel can be seen in the cutting skills. Whether it is the ingredients themselves or the carving design, they are endowed with absolute creativity with superb technology. Most of the ingredients are taken from rivers, lakes and seas, and the cooking is also done well. Recommended dishes: fish and lion head, Huaiyang soft pocket, Boston lobster in golden soup, black tiger shrimp with chicken soup, signature crab powder tofu.
Slender West Lake| day tour
"There are thirty-six West Lakes in the world, but only Yangzhou West Lake is thin." When we talk about West Lake, we always think of West Lake in Hangzhou and Slender West Lake in Yangzhou. Compared with others, these two scenic spots are the only ones that cannot be blamed for. When I came to Yangzhou this time, I visited Slender West Lake during the day and at night, which gave me a completely different feeling.
During the day, Slender West Lake is full of summer tranquility. The picturesque scenery along the way fully matches the reputation of "the prosperity of gardens, the best in the world". However, summer heatstroke prevention is also a top priority. There will be some cultural and creative shops, restaurants and the like in the scenic area. If it is too hot, you can go in and blow on the air conditioner and buy some cultural and creative products such as refrigerator stickers. Recommended check-in points: Wuting Bridge, 24th Bridge, Diaoyutai, Xiaojin Mountain.
Slender West Lake| night tour
I can't enjoy enough Slender West Lake, and I can't see enough Yangzhou Moon. When you come to Yangzhou in summer, you will first launch a large-scale immersive night tour of Slender West Lake,"Half Moon Remembering Yangzhou". Speaking of this night tour, I missed an opportunity to see it last year. Last year, about early July, I drove my family to Yangzhou and stayed at a nice hotel. The hotel gave us two tickets for a night tour of Slender West Lake. We missed the night tour because we were experiencing the shaving and foot soaking of the "Yangzhou Three Swords" after dinner. Later, I left Yangzhou, and not long after that old lady from Nanjing came to Yangzhou. I think everyone will know what happened later... The night tour was also forced to stop, which is a pity!
The large-scale immersive night tour of Slender West Lake "The Moon Remembers Yangzhou" is a performance that travels through time and space and the four seasons. The beautiful lighting and in-depth cultural interpretation provide an understanding of Yangzhou's history and humanities and a perfect baptism for the body and mind. Speaking of "immersion", this night tour is definitely up to standard, because after entering the scenic area, you will be surrounded by lights, as if you have traveled to the prosperous times of the Tang Dynasty.
There are many spots for the night show's light show, and each spot is played on a loop, so after we come in, we just need to find each spot through the tips of the scenic spot, and we can see a complete show no matter whether morning or evening. I think this design is very reasonable. It will not allow tourists to gather together, but also allow you to watch your favorite scenes twice more. Of course, there is also time for night tours, from 19:30 to 22:00. Everyone should pay attention to the closing time of the park.
Let me also briefly talk to you about the shooting of night tours. Aerial photography of Slender West Lake needs to be reported in advance (the aerial photo in front of me was taken after reporting). If it is reported, you can take off from the small square in front of Canying Villa, where there are fewer tourists and it is safer and not far from Wuting Bridge. The camera took pictures of the tripod I wore to capture the silky feeling of the lake water and the delicate and noise-free light. Because I like how photography works, if you don't have this obsession, it's best to watch it immersed.
tips
Tickets: Adult fare is 120 yuan.
Yangzhou citizens can enjoy half price with their ID cards, and foreign tourists can enjoy a discount of 79 yuan/person for early bird prices at the end of July (the discount time for ticket purchase ends at the end of July, and the use time for preferential tickets ends at the end of August).
There was a poem in the Tang Dynasty: "Thousands of lights in the night market shine on the blue clouds, and high-rise buildings are crowded with guests with red sleeves"-"Looking at Yangzhou City at Night."
When I came to Yangzhou this summer, I found that the Qiandeng Night Market outside Yangzhou's Slender West Lake was a replica of the Tang Dynasty in the poem. Yangzhou has always given me a feeling of comfort and grace. I really didn't expect such a hot nightlife. Because the lights here can be decorated, but its popularity never lies. Looking at the crowd, you can tell how excellent the night market is.
When I came to Yangzhou this time, I visited Qiandeng Night Market twice because of the way. I was deeply attracted by the comfortable and easy-going spiritual and cultural life of the local area. The night market is divided into an inner street and an outer street. The inner street mainly sells traditional local snacks in Yangzhou, and the outer street ranges from the east gate of Slender West Lake south to the old north gate. It integrates food, cultural creativity, intangible cultural heritage, etc., and even brings alpacas... I can always find something I like.
The business hours of the night market are: 18:00-21:30, but it is not ruled out that some fixed shops, such as restaurants and clearing bars, will arrive later.
Garden Chapter| Heyuan
Yangzhou's gardens are world-renowned, and He Garden is one of the representatives. It is a classical garden building built in the middle of the Qing Dynasty. It is known as the "First Garden in the Late Qing Dynasty" and is a national key cultural relic protection unit. This is my first time here in He Yuan, and it gave me a lot of surprises.
Today's Heyuan Scenic Area is not too large and can be visited quickly, but my friends and I are reluctant to leave. All kinds of scenery are excellent locations for taking photos, which is very suitable for taking pictures of Chinese costumes such as Hanfu and Cheongsam.
He Garden was built by He Zhiyan during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. The stone mountain room is a masterpiece of Master Shi Tao's stacked mountains. The main attractions include Fudao Corridor, Riding Building, etc. When visiting He Garden, it is also necessary to hire a guide. The garden has many wonderful designs that are worth pondering and inspecting. For example,"flowers in the mirror, moon in the water" cannot be seen at a glance. Only through the narrator's vivid description can you understand the meaning and praise it!

Opening hours: 07:30-18:00(latest admission time 17:00)
Tickets: 45 yuan/person
Yangzhou Geyuan is one of the "Four Famous Gardens in China", and every scene has high artistic attainments. Geyuan is also a must-check attraction for tourists when visiting Yangzhou. First, the gardens are interesting, and second, there is lively Dongguan Street behind them, so you can play together. It's just that we didn't go to Dongguan Street this time due to time constraints.
There are three major attractions in Geyuan: looking at bamboo, looking at houses, and looking at rockery! The owner of Geyuan was originally Huang Zhiyun, the chief salt merchant of Lianghuai in the Qing Dynasty. He loved bamboo very much, so there were a number of different varieties of bamboo in the entire garden. Even "Geyuan" got its name because there are three pieces on the top of the bamboo leaves, which resembles the word "ge".
There are many houses in Geyuan, just like a small maze. It is said that this is not the whole story of that time. It can be seen that the salt merchants were rich at that time. It is recommended to find a guide so that you can understand the role of these houses and the concept of architectural design.
Geyuan's "Four Seasons Rockery" needs to be checked in. It is an isolated example in domestic gardens and the most interesting. It is made of stones of different materials (bamboo shoots, lake stones, yellowstone, and Xuanshi) to create the scenery according to the seasons, and you can see the "four seasons" at a glance. When you understand what this means, you feel that you will admire the cleverness of the designer.

The Grand Canal of China is a world cultural heritage. Yangzhou has been prosperous because of the canal since ancient times. Today, the China Grand Canal Museum, which has not been open for a long time, is definitely one of the hottest scenic spots in Yangzhou City. Not to mention other things, a brief look at the number of people in the queue in the figure below already explains everything.
Why is the China Grand Canal Museum so attractive? Because the design of the building itself is very consistent with the modern aesthetics, there are good shooting positions both indoors and outside. I have to say that museums nowadays are not just places to display cultural relics, but also a "work of art" itself. Private recommendation: The glass curtain wall on the first floor, the stairs outside the west gate of the cafe, and the Buddha statue on the first floor can be photographed to show the feeling of dislocation.
When you come to the China Grand Canal Museum during the summer, you must not miss the special exhibition of Zhongzi and Shenzhou. Here, using Bai Juyi's poems as clues, Luoyang, the divine capital of the Tang Dynasty, is restored through three major sections. (There are a large number of precious cultural relics, and the special exhibition will last until August 28 this year).
Of course, the history and culture of China's Grand Canal itself is definitely worth digging deep into. Every city it flows through has its mark displayed in this museum. Modern museums also use many high-tech technologies such as sound, light, and electricity to allow visitors to experience the scene. Many scenes are highly restored. I think this is also the reason why the China Grand Canal Museum exploded? After visiting, I felt that it was a good popularization and connection of canal knowledge.
tips
Tickets for the Grand Canal Museum are free, but reservations are required in advance, because it is summer vacation, and friends with plans must make reservations in advance and the museum is closed on Monday. In addition, you can have simple meals and have a tea room to rest on the first floor of the Grand Canal Museum. There is a coffee shop on the first floor. Even if you spend a day in the air conditioning here, you will not be bored.
Museum| Hanlingyuan
When I came to Yangzhou this time, I visited two relatively niche attractions. One is Hanling Garden and the other is Tangcheng Ruins. Friends who like history must not miss it. First of all, let's talk about Hanling Garden, which is also known as the Han Guangling King Tomb Museum.
In books and movies, Liu Xu, King of Guangling of the Western Han Dynasty, does not appear frequently, but he is a very interesting vassal king. He was strong and loved fighting bears and lived a long life. It was because he lived long enough that he missed the throne twice. Later, he formed a villain and was sentenced to death for treason. The characters are not very outstanding in the long history, but their deeds are very interesting.
When you come to a museum, you must also see the way. What is important here is that the tomb of the King of Guangling is of extremely high archaeological value. It is the most typical and complete one found so far among the funeral "Yellow Intestinal Collection" that represents the highest etiquette in the Han Dynasty, and fragments of gold strands and jade clothes have been unearthed. The museum is not the original site of the tomb. It is the No. 1 Western Han Dynasty tomb excavated in Shenju Mountain, Gaoyou Huxi New District, in 1979. It is the tomb of Liu Xu, King of Guangling of the Western Han Dynasty, and his wife buried in the same tomb in a different cave.
Speaking of this, Mrs. Guangling of the Han Dynasty, it is also very interesting. Like King Guangling, she also has a unique hobby, which is, she likes to raise monkeys. A gibbon servant was unearthed in the tomb. In addition, a complete set of bathing utensils was unearthed in this tomb, which looks very particular. Is it consistent with Yangzhou's "night water wrapping" lifestyle that has been passed down for thousands of years? haha ~
tips
Recommended tour time: 1 to 1.5 hours. Be sure to invite a speaker to explain it to better understand its historical and archaeological value.
Opening hours: 08:30-17:00
Yangzhou in the Tang Dynasty was a prosperous and prosperous "international metropolis". Although not much remains from modern times, we can still get a glimpse of it when we visit the ruins of Tang City. It is located on the former site of Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty. It houses the Tang-style court building "Yanhe Pavilion", which displays many precious cultural relics and rich materials of the Tang Dynasty.
There is also a memorial hall called Cui Zhiyuan,"Confucius in Korea", which is a bridge of "China-South Korea friendship." The entire Tangcheng site is not large. Recommended tour time: 1 to 1.5 hours. Friends who are interested in this part of history can come.
Attractions| Daming temple
Yangzhou Daming Temple is quite famous, but I have been to Yangzhou several times and bought refrigerator stickers for Daming Temple, but this is the first time I have come to this place. It is named after it was first built during the Ming Dynasty of Emperor Xiaowu of the Southern Song Dynasty (457-464). It has a history of more than 1500 years and is now a national key cultural relic protection unit.
The atmosphere in the ancient temple is solemn, and there are many traces of literati and literati as well as historical monuments. There are Pingshan Hall, the fifth spring in the world, etc., and a spiritual tower is one of Yangzhou's landmark buildings. In addition, during the Tang Dynasty, Japanese Master Jianzhen was the abbot of Daming Temple, which also made Daming Temple an important ancient temple in the history of Buddhist cultural relics relations between China and Japan. If you are interested in this aspect, you can still watch it for a long time.
Attractions| Zhuqiawan Park
Zhuyi Bay plays an important role in Yangzhou's history. It is located in Wantou Town, Dongshou, Yangzhou. It is connected to Shaobo Lake in the north and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal in the west. During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, Zhuyi Bay was the gateway for the canal to enter Yangzhou and an important dock in China. This was where Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty entered Yangzhou three times. But now Judi Bay is mainly a zoo!
The animals here are much richer than I thought, and there are even giant pandas. Due to the high temperatures in summer, animals are most active in the morning and generally sleep lazily in the afternoon, so it is recommended to come in the morning. It was when we came in the morning that we saw the giant panda eating bamboo. It was so cute.
Say goodbye to Yangzhou
When I wrote this travel note, I had left Yangzhou for about a week. Although I was a little too happy when I was in Yangzhou at that time, I had already begun to miss the various delicacies on the journey... I will also miss the fantasy and excitement of Slender West Lake at night, and of course I will miss the bits in Yangzhou. Some experiences may be very accidental. For example, after dinner on the fourth day, the shower brought a beautiful sunset. We found a parking lot on the roadside and photographed the unexpected good weather. I think in many places, you will only be surprised when you arrive. Yangzhou is a good place, and Yangzhou's complete tourism services are also waiting for more tourists to arrive.
Say goodbye to Yangzhou. Perhaps every reunion after a long separation is a better encounter!
