Tell me about this trip

When it comes to Yangzhou, the first thing that many people think of is,"My old friend leaves the Yellow Crane Tower in the west, and fireworks fall under Yangzhou in March." This small city located north of the Yangtze River is the most beautiful time in March.

In early autumn, Yangzhou has willows and flowers that are different from spring. It looks more peaceful. The moderate temperature seems to allow everything in the world to enjoy the tranquility of the years here.

It takes 50 minutes to get here from Nanjing, which is different from previous trips to Yangzhou. This time is a journey through time and space. Soak in hot springs in ancient resorts, learn about the historical story of Guangling in the museum, approach Yizheng, and feel the tranquility after the volcanic eruption.

slender West Lake hot spring resort

Many people only know that the hot springs in Tangshan, Nanjing are very famous. In fact, Yangzhou, which is not far from Nanjing, is also very rich in hot spring resources. Recently, the weather has turned cooler and it has entered early autumn. Therefore, we are also planning to stay in a hot spring hotel in Yangzhou. After taking a look, the hot spring resort next to Slender West Lake has a good environment, antique and peaceful environment. Then we did not disappoint when we came here.

The hotel is basically a single-family villa, and the overall environment is the most enviable. The presidential suite we stayed in has a living room and 4 bedrooms. Each bedroom is relatively large and has a courtyard. You can read and chat here. You can also soak in the hot spring in the courtyard. There is a soup pool, which can accommodate about 6-8 people.

As soon as I arrived in the room, the housekeeper helped put away the hot spring water, prepared floor towels and some roses. The courtyard is similar to a courtyard house, but the end of the hot spring is surrounded by a fence, next to it is a pavilion, and there is also a big osmanthus tree, which is very fragrant this season.

In addition to the osmanthus in the courtyard of the room, you can also see many osmanthus in every corner of the hotel, including in the public hot spring area. This season is the time when osmanthus is in full bloom, and the fragrance is fragrant and smells better than perfume.

The decoration of the hotel is similar to that of traditional residential buildings in Jiangnan. The overall Chinese feel is given. The living room prepares some seasonal fruits every day, including oranges and dates, as well as some beer and drinks, which are free.

Guests staying in the suite can soak in the hot spring pool or go to the public hot spring area. The advantage of going to the hot spring area is that the soup pools are more diverse, and each has different effects. There are signs that will be famous, so you can take a look at which you want to go to.

The public soup pool area is not like a swimming pool, where dozens of people soak together. It is separated by many small soup pools and separated by many vegetation. It also has basic privacy and a good environment.

There are specially prepared towels next to each soup pool. You can use them at any time. It is very convenient. Because it is autumn, the temperature of the hot springs is quite suitable, basically around 37-40 degrees, especially at night. It is very comfortable to soak in the hot springs, admire the moon, and chat.

There are also a few soup ponds that can be brewed. Four spray heads are placed in parallel, giving it a feeling of taking a shower, but it is still quite cool. For many girls, you can take many beautiful photos.

Nashan Geopark

Although I have been to Yangzhou four times and have visited many places and experienced different ways of playing each time, I discovered this time that Yangzhou also has a geological park, and it is a volcanic geological park.

This is the Nashan Geopark in Yizheng. It takes about 40 minutes to reach the scenic spot from Yangzhou. This is a crater formed after a volcanic eruption. Although time has passed for a long time and the crater is not obvious, the many stone pillars formed after the eruption are quite meaningful.

In Nashan, the most famous one is the first scenic spot we visited. This is Bonshipo. As the name suggests, it is about tying stones together. The reason why this name is given is not out of nothing. You will have no doubts when you arrive here. Pile upon pile of stone pillars really seem to be tied together.

Bunshi slopes are a special phenomenon formed only by volcanic eruptions. You can see that a pile of stone pillars are erected very neatly. These stone pillars are generally pentagonal or hexagonal. All of them were formed when the volcano erupted and cooled rapidly due to the low external temperature. The scientific name is basalt stone pillars.

Next to Kunshi Slope, there is a small attraction called Feilaishi. It is different from the Feilaishi in Huangshan, which is much smaller.

There is a coffee bar next to Bunshipo, which is a place to rest and chat. Because the coffee shop has a strong sense of design and is also a place for Internet celebrities to take photos. Whether it is the exterior walls or the interior decoration, they are all very beautiful.

You can order some milk tea and snacks inside. The price is not expensive, basically only one to twenty yuan. The taste is still very good. The key point is that it can be used as a prop for taking photos and taking some beautiful photos. Girls are simply a must-have.

The floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides are very suitable for taking photos and checking in, especially when the sun passes through the windows in the morning. The light is better and the photos taken are also very beautiful.

There is a lawn at the entrance of the cafe, which has turned golden in early autumn. Compared with the dark gray cafe, it has a very autumn artistic conception. The small battery car next to it is a sightseeing car in the scenic area, because the scenic area is still quite large. In order to walk less, it is best to buy a sightseeing ticket.

Shanmeng Stone is also a place full of stories. You can see many stones of similar size. It is said that they are related to the move of mountains by the Foolish Old Man. Of course, this small waterfall is the biggest attraction today.

There is a wooden suspension bridge here, which is also a landmark attraction in the scenic area. It is more suitable for taking some ancient photos. I guess there should be girls who come here to take Han costumes.

The iron chains by the bridge are full of tourists 'best wishes, which can be seen in many scenic spots. However, the iron chains are all red, so they are more eye-catching and can be seen from a long distance.

These black ones are volcanic stones formed during volcanic eruptions. One of the characteristics of volcanic stones is their light weight, mainly because the stones have more holes and relatively low density. They can be seen in many volcanic geological parks and are also a tool for rubbing feet.

This is an arc-shaped joint. An arc-shaped joint is a vertical columnar joint that is heated by hot basaltic magma, or becomes a plastic arc-shaped joint under the action of gravity before it has completely cooled. Arc joint is one of the four main joint forms in the Nashan basalt stone pillar group.

Bailongquan is a spring in Nashan that produces water all year round. It is also a more magical place in Nashan. When you arrive here, you can see a building with a strong sense of design. The building is surrounded by forests and bamboo forests. It is as if it is hidden deep in the mountains, and the environment is very good.

This is Bailongquan Tea House. Although Nashan is a volcanic geological park, there is a kind of tea that is also very famous. Here, you can enjoy the tranquility of nature, bask in the sun, drink tea, and read books. It is also very comfortable.

The floor-to-ceiling windows of the tea house are also very beautiful. Every afternoon, the sun shines through, giving a feeling of warm sun in winter. For this tea house, I think the most selling point should be the environment. Within a radius of a few hundred meters, basically everything is covered with green plants and is very quiet.

I hadn't finished visiting the scenic spot at noon. I experienced the earthen stove here in the scenic spot and made a meal of celery dumplings. It was a quite meaningful trip.

Nashan is currently preparing to build a resort close to nature, so it can not only use earthen stoves to cook it, but also make outdoor barbecues. It is said that there will be RV camps in the future, etc., but it is quite rich in all.

In the direction of the museum, you will pass a relatively high grandstand. You can see most of Nashan Mountain and the village world at the foot of the mountain. It has just arrived in early autumn, and you can already see colorful woods. Fortunately, the weather is quite good and there are no clouds.

You can also see some basalt stone pillars here. In fact, these basalt stone pillars were formed by volcanic eruptions more than 5 million years ago. You should know that there are not many places in the world where such rock pillars can be formed, and Nashan is one of the top ten volcanic stone pillars in the world.

There must be many people who are as curious as me as to why these rock columns are basically pentagonal or hexagonal. That is because the dense magma formed by volcanic eruptions, when it rapidly shrinks and cools when it encounters cold, will crack at an angle perpendicular to the direction of lava flow, forming it into a very regular geometric shape, as if it were artificially processed.

The last attraction we visited was the Nashan Geological Museum, which is the first geological museum in Yangzhou. The entire museum has a very beautiful appearance, and the building materials are also locally sourced. The stones of Nashan are used and unique design concepts have been created into an Internet celebrity photo area.

In the Nashan Geological Museum, visitors can not only see the formation of the universe and the earth, but also understand the wonders of the world's top ten volcanic rock pillar groups. At the same time, they can also "travel" through the passage of time through the 720° Volcanic Immersion Experience Hall. Witness the vicissitudes caused by volcanic changes millions of years ago.

The Geological Museum includes entertainment projects such as the Cold-Fun Hall, Phantom Gallery, and Handicraft Workshop. They are all open to tourists. For many children, they can participate in some interactive projects. For girls, this museum must not be missed. Because there are too many places suitable for taking photos here.

The top of the museum is a place very suitable for taking portraits and landscapes. In spring and summer, the lawn is green, and in autumn and winter, the lawn is golden yellow. It is matched with volcanic rocks, giving people a sense of desolation in the north. It is difficult for tourists to think of such a place in Jiangnan.

There is also a place full of colorful lights. As time goes by, each light will change color. Every room has a different color. Coupled with the reflection effect of the mirrors on all sides, it seems to have arrived at a colorful fairy tale world.

In addition, there are also some Internet celebrity walls that are more suitable for taking photos and checking in, such as this divination wall. Overall, this is a geological museum that integrates science, interaction, entertainment, and photography. It truly achieves the goal of edutainment. In fun, while traveling and playing, I also learned a lot of geological knowledge.

Xishi Lou, the most authentic Huaiyang cuisine

Yangzhou is the origin of Huaiyang cuisine. Whether you like it or not, you must try it when you come here. Xishi Lou is the most representative restaurant in Yangzhou. The entire restaurant only serves Huaiyang cuisine, and it has been praised continuously online. So we also decided to go and eat it and see what it was like.

There seem to be many Xishi Building. We went to the store next to Wanda. The overall environment is still good. The private rooms are also relatively large. They are separated from each other without disturbing each other. The soundproofing effect is also very good. Eating here is really a kind of enjoyment.

As one of the four traditional cuisines, Huaiyang cuisine pays attention to the meticulous preparation of local dishes and mostly uses aquatic products as raw materials. It can be seen that the raw materials used for cooking are basically found locally and do not look advanced, but after it is cooked, the shape of the dishes is very exquisite, the taste is mellow, and it is known as "the best taste in Southeast Asia and the most beautiful in the world."

This is the famous signature lion head. In fact, I have eaten similar ones before, but the taste is really far worse than this. It is said to be made of pure hand-chopped meat. It tastes very good and a little tender. It looks oily, but it is actually not greasy. There is an egg yolk inside, which is very appetizing.

Huaiyang Hot Dried Silk. It is true that you can only eat in Yangzhou, Taizhou and Huaian. Even if you have it in other places, the taste is far different. Because it belongs to the soy product category, the overall feeling is quite vegetarian.

The well-known Yangzhou fried rice, the Yangzhou fried rice I ate at Xishi Lou, is really the most authentic one I have ever tasted. You can see that the rice is made one grain by one without sticking together, and there are 10 kinds of ingredients added to the fried rice, including shrimp, meat floss, etc.

This is the first time I really saw that tofu can be cut into such silk strips, as thin as hair, and can be used to thread a needle. It is basically impossible for ten years to eight years of cutting work. The soup cooked is fragrant and feels good.

Yangzhou Double Expo Hall

Yangzhou Double Expo Museum is the Yangzhou Museum and the Yangzhou Engraving and Printing Museum. It is very close to the train station. You can go there as soon as you arrive in Yangzhou, or when you want to leave. Generally 2-3 hours is enough. You can go directly to the train station after you finish.

Yangzhou Double Expo Museum is a national AAAA tourist attraction and is open to tourists for free. However, it should be noted that most museums in China are like this. They are closed for maintenance every Monday, so you must coordinate the time before going.

The Yangzhou Double Expo Hall is very large, with three floors. It has the Guangling Chao-Yangzhou City Story Hall, the Yangzhou Eight Eccentrics Painting and Calligraphy Hall, the Ming and Qing Dynasties Painting and Calligraphy Hall, the National Treasure Hall, the Yangzhou Ancient Carving Hall, the Chinese Woodblock Printing Exhibition Hall, the Yangzhou Woodblock Printing Exhibition Hall and a temporary exhibition hall. There are eight exhibition halls.

Basically, Yangzhou is introduced from ancient times. From ancient times to the present, Yangzhou has been relatively developed. Basically, it was a big city in every dynasty. Especially during the Sui and Tang Dynasties, the basic city was the most developed place in China, equivalent to today's Beijing or Shanghai.

Among the cultural relics unearthed in the museum, there are many ceramics, and most of them are still valuable. Most of these cultural relics come from the Yuan, Ming and Tang periods.

Because Yangzhou was the most developed city in China at that time, it also attracted many foreigners to do business here, including merchants from the Persian Gulf region. Later Marco Polo's travels also recorded the prosperity of Yangzhou.

This exhibition hall is basically about these ceramics, including bowls, vases, wine bottles, etc. Most of which are completely unearthed. Each represents a dynasty or period and can be judged based on the pattern and style.

Although the museum is free, it is strongly recommended that you ask for an explanation when you go, otherwise you will really be confused by the reading. Maybe you may not remember the explanation, but if you don't ask for an explanation, you will probably really have nothing to gain.

This is the National Treasure Hall, and there is just one thing in it. This is a plum vase with blue glaze and white dragon pattern from the Yuan Dynasty. It is now priceless. The plum vase has a small mouth and a short neck, flat mouth edges, broad shoulders and gradually slippery shoulders. Gradually converge below the shoulders, and slightly outward towards the bottom. A dragon chasing a flame pearl is carved on the belly of the plum vase. Its decoration is commonly known as the pearl chasing dragon pattern. The dragon surrounds the bottle body, with its head tilted upward, its horns slightly tilted back, and the longan is protruding.

On the other side is the Woodblock Printing Museum. Here, you can experience the magic of woodblock printing up close. You can write it in front and back, and then add ink to print it.

These were printed with these woodblocks back then. You can see that every word is very good, so writing this word requires a certain calligraphy skills. In ancient times, woodblock printing was divided into three types. One was the official seal, which was used by officials, and the other was the commercial seal, which was used for sale. If you want it, you can buy it in a store.

This is the place where merchants 'seals were sold in ancient times. They were carved on the right and then sold directly in the shop on the left. Of course, not all characters could be engraved. As far as I know, the emperor's name could not appear.

You can also experience hand-carved printing here for yourself. The price is not expensive. It only costs 15 yuan. You can print one piece and take away. It is quite commemorative. After inking the engraving, you can put a piece of white paper on it. It's basically done.

There are also some people here who specialize in calligraphy. They all write very well. They can be sold to the public or write what you want to write. The price has not been asked, but it is estimated that it will cost several thousand yuan?

It took about an hour and a half to visit the Shuangbo Museum, and I took a photo with the camera brought by my friend. Although this was my second time to the Shuangbo Museum, I still felt that there was too much knowledge here. I really couldn't understand it thoroughly if I came a few times. Walking along the long river of history and looking back at Yangzhou's history and culture, this is an ancient city in the true sense.

Yangzhou Banquet

Another Huaiyang dish I had in Yangzhou was also very good. It was right in front of the Slender West Lake Hot Spring Resort. The whole restaurant was very stylish and had the feeling of an ancient mansion. It was said that Zhang Tielin had just eaten it the day before we went to eat, and it seemed to be quite popular.

The Yangzhou area has always liked to eat river fresh food and seafood. Many people may be curious as to why Yangzhou does not rely on the sea, so there are many seafood. In fact, before the Tang Dynasty, Yangzhou was a coastal city, and the coastline at that time was in today's Yangzhou.

Old goose, this dish should be seen anywhere you eat in Yangzhou. Yangzhou people have an unspeakable love for geese, just like Nanjing people like ducks and Sichuan people like hot pot.

The grass chicken lion head in casserole is also a must-order dish for Yangzhou banquets. There are many small lion heads and a grass chicken. The soup tastes delicious and has a little oil, but it is not greasy.

This is shrimp and crab roe stewed vermicelli skin. For those who like crab roe, they must not be able to resist the temptation of this. They have a soft and glutinous feeling and taste quite delicious.

Orange-scented Australian Snowflake Cattle is very exquisite beef, decorated with some flowers and plants. I have to say that compared with other dishes, Huaiyang cuisine is really exquisite, at least it looks very appetizing., a little sweet, but it does not affect the tenderness of the beef.

This is a carp. This is a fish that I rarely eat. I guess it should be a river fish because it has a lot of thorns, but it can really feel that it is very fresh. When dipped in sauce, it will taste more. It looks like it is very nourishing.

Overall, it is one of the best choices for tasting Huaiyang cuisine. The environment in the store is also great and the service is good. There are also some snacks such as raisins before eating, which is worth recommending.

Practical guide

1. Nashan Geopark is also very convenient from Nanjing. Take subway s8 to the terminal and change to bus No. K35.

2. Try to go to Slender West Lake after November. The autumn atmosphere will be stronger and the scenery will be better. Tickets will be reduced from 100 yuan to 30 yuan in the off-season, and there will be much fewer tourists.

3. It's best to ask for an explanation for Nashan Geopark. You can learn a lot about geology, otherwise you will be like a museum, looking in the clouds.

4. If it is autumn to enjoy autumn, I recommend going to Shigong Temple. There are two big ginkgo trees there. They are very beautiful and you need to buy tickets.

5. The best place in Yangzhou at night is Dongguan Street. I have been there several times, so I didn't go this time. People who are there for the first time should not miss it.

6. If you want to see a panoramic view of Slender West Lake, you can go to the Spirit Pagoda of Daming Temple, but you will charge an additional ticket, which costs about 20 yuan.
