Wulingyuan in Zhangjiajie is located at the junction of Sangzhi County and Cili County in the middle section of the Wulingyuan Mountains in northwest Hunan Province. It is known as the "Labyrinth of Nature" and the "No. 1 Strange Mountain in the World" with a total area of 369 square kilometers. Among them, the central scenic spot covers an area of 264 square kilometers and belongs to a sandstone peak forest landform. It is famous for its "five unique peaks": strange peaks, strange rocks, secluded valleys, beautiful waters, and karst caves.
Wulingyuan has not undergone any artificial carving. It is full of stone pillars, stone peaks, cliffs, ancient and famous trees, clouds, smoke, flowing springs and waterfalls, and rare birds and beasts. Five thousand stone peaks in various shapes stand in the depths of ravines; eight hundred streams winding and winding through the stone forest canyons. Being in them is like visiting a magical world and interesting artistic landscape corridor.

Wulingyuan consists of four parts: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and National Geopark, Suoxiyu Scenic Area, Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area, and Yangjiajie Scenic Area. The scenic area includes Nantian Yizhu, Pipa Creek, Maoyan River, Mengdong River, Dinghai Shenzhen, Shuilao Simen, Shili Gallery, Yuanyang Waterfall, Nantian Gate, Old Man Picking Medicine, Shentang Bay, Tianbing Gathering, Fairy Dispersing Flowers, Xianren Bridge, Aerial Pastoral, Climbing to the Sky, Yang Family Generals,"Tianbo Mansion" Ruins, etc.
