Summer is coming soon, and I believe many friends are planning where to play in the hot weather. I strongly recommend coming to Zhangjiajie Mengdong River to see the mountains and play in the water.

Mengdong River is the world's first drifting river. The starting point of Hani Palace is about 40 kilometers away from Wang Village, a one hour drive, and the endpoint of Niulu River is a 30 minute drive away from Wang Village. The drifting waterway is 17 kilometers long and lasts for two and a half hours.

As we sailed down from Hani Palace, we encountered an ancient river with cliffs stretching for hundreds of miles, rugged rocks, strange beaches and waters, lush forests on both sides, shrouded in clouds and mist, and cascading waterfalls, springs, and lava peaks complementing each other. Turning 155 turns, shuttling through 133 beaches and pools, meandering and lingering, galloping soul and soul, feeling refreshed and happy.

Mengdong River is rich in water, with a steep slope, fast flowing rapids, and strange waves. The towering cliffs pierce straight into the water surface, and the two banks are close together, forming a deep canyon landscape. Along both banks of the river, there are ancient trees and vast skies, with lush greenery and scattered rocks. Flowing springs and waterfalls can be seen everywhere. Downstream, the water is clear and the mountains are green, with beautiful scenery, groups of wild monkeys, and unique caves.

The Mengdong River World's First Drifting Project is located on a tributary of the Mengdong River, with a total length of 47 kilometers. The most exciting part is the section from Hani Palace to Niulu River, which is about 17 kilometers long. The scenic area is surrounded by primitive secondary forests on both sides, with lush greenery, fast flowing water, and clear green. It is renowned for its ten mile cliffs, ten mile waterfalls and springs, ten mile paintings, and ten mile caves.

The river here is serene and clear, with rugged cliffs on both sides. There is a small waterfall in front that looks like a white veil hanging straight down from the top of the cliff, hanging on the green slope. That is the Hani Palace Waterfall. On the straight stone wall on the left, there is the famous sociologist Mr. Fei Xiaotong's inscription "The First Drift in the World", which he wrote with emotion after drifting over the Mengdong River.

The Mengdong River Basin is an area where the Tujia ethnic group resides, with unique customs and rich traditional ethnic culture. The customs of the Tujia people, such as the Tiao Nian Festival, She Ba Festival, Eat Salary Festival, Double Ninth Festival, and celebrating the Chinese New Year one day in advance, are all unique and interesting.

The Tujia ethnic group's hand waving dance, Mao Gu Si dance, as well as songs and dances such as "Da Lu Zi", "Dong Dong Kui", and "Dig Tu Ge", are as intoxicating as aged wine.

Mengdong River belongs to the subtropical warm monsoon climate zone, with an average annual temperature of around 16 degrees Celsius. In spring, flowers bloom; Summer, cool and peaceful; In autumn, the mountains are covered in red; In winter, ice flowers bloom in full bloom. Whenever you come here for tourism, you can fully appreciate the beautiful scenery of nature.
