When it comes to karst caves, China has many large and small caves with unique features, such as the Dragon Palace in Guizhou and the Tianhe Wonder hanging on high mountain slopes; The underground river in Lianzhou, Guangdong, flows in both water and land, and the magnificent hidden river of Yin River cascades down the canyon; Loudi Boyue Cave, the unparalleled beauty of goose tubes; The Qin Rock in Jianghua has breathtaking terraced fields in the mountains.
But there is a cave in Zhangjiajie that is known as the "World Cave Wonder" and "World Cave Omni Champion". Why does Zhangjiajie's Huanglong Cave have such a top-level honor? Below, I will answer each of you one by one.
Huanglong Cave is a typical karst landform. The total area of the cave floor that has been discovered in Huanglong Cave is 100000 square meters, with a total length of 7.5 kilometers and a vertical height of 140 meters.
The cave is divided into four layers, and there are caves inside the entire cave. There is a river inside the cave, and various cave wonders such as stalagmites, stone pillars, and stalactites are dazzling and beautiful.
At the entrance of Huanglong Cave, several sets of wooden wheel water wheel landscapes were designed. Under the slow impact of the stream, the water wheels remained motionless, except for those that could be stepped on by children. They rolled slowly and made squeaking sounds, adding an ancient and lively atmosphere to the scenic area.
Arriving at the entrance of the cave, I saw the three characters "Huanglong Cave" written on a white background and black flower border above the rock. Upon entering the cave, it was plain and unremarkable. After a while, on the high platform of the cave, a stage landscape suddenly appeared, with vivid and interesting scenery and dazzling lighting effects. That was the famous landscape Huanglong Stage.
There is a Yin River in the second layer of Huanglong Cave, and the Xiangshui River is 2820 meters long. Along the Xiangshui River, there are many wonders of the cave, such as the Dragon King's Golden Helmet, Sea Shell Floating in the Sky, Conch Blowing in the Sky, Hidden Dragon Gorge, Fragrant Terrace, and Tianxian Bridge.
Tianxian Palace is the widest hall in Huanglong Cave, and on the right is a huge group of stone waterfalls, which is currently the largest stone waterfall group among the developed tourist caves in China.
Tianxianshui Waterfall is the largest of the three springs in Huanglong Cave. It cascades down from the honeycomb shaped cave roof, which is 30 meters high, like smoke and mist, forming a magnificent waterfall spectacle.
The fourth floor of Huanglong Cave is the "Dragon Palace Hall", which is the largest hall in Huanglong Cave, the earliest and oldest hall formed in Huanglong Cave, and the most developed hall for stalagmites among the open tourist caves in China.
In the Dragon Palace, there is a tall and thin stalagmite, which is called the "Sea God Needle". Its shape is very peculiar, with thick ends and thin middle, with a diameter of only 10 centimeters at the thinnest point. The "Dinghai Shen Needle" grows on the collapsed slope and is the tallest stalagmite in Huanglong Cave.
Huanglong Cave, with its large scale, comprehensive content, and beautiful scenery, almost covers all the contents of the cave. It truly deserves to be the "all-around champion" of the world's caves.
